iPhone 17 Pro Gets a Xiaomi 17 Pro Inspired Case

Dockcase just released a new cover for the iPhone 17 Pro, which is called the Selfix case. This basically adds a cover display on the back of the phone. Being able to take selfie shoots as the secondary screen acts as a camera viewfinder is one of the best features of devices like flip phones. The Xiaomi 17 Pro series has this function too, but now, even the iPhone 17 Pro is capable of it.

The large high resolution sensors are perfect for those vloggers and content creators. This is a tiny 1.6-inch circular AMOLED display with touchscreen support and 480 x 480p resolution. Dockcase’s Selfix case promises a zero lag experience and doesn’t require any dedicated companion app. But that’s not all, buyers also get a dedicated power button to allow users to switch the secondary screen on and off. There is even a PD 3.0 USB Type-C port that supports up to 100W input.

Adding even more to the feature list is a microSD card slot that can expand storage by up to 2TB. So even media, like pictures and videos, stored in the microSD card will still appear inside the regular iPhone gallery. Unfortunately, we still don’t have an official pricing and release date. Although, Dockcase has launched the product on Kickstarter, showcasing multiple color options. These include Midnight Black, Oat White, and Blush Pink.

Huawei has launched new micro-pump liquid cooling cases for its latest Mate 80 series smartphones in China. The new accessory supports the Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, and Mate 80 Pro Max models. Huawei has priced each version at 299 yuan ($42) and says the design improves on the earlier cases built for the Mate 70 and Mate 60 series.

The case now adopts a full-cover structure instead of the partial design used in previous generations. The upgraded layout allows the entire back surface of the phone to cool more evenly.

Huawei has designed the case with a slim and lightweight PU build to maintain a comfortable in-hand feel. It includes a transparent window on the lower rear section that makes the internal liquid circulation system visible. The window gives the case a more high-tech and futuristic look.

The internal hardware uses an ultra-thin liquid cooling layer paired with a high-precision micro-pump. The system relies on a high-efficiency heat absorption sheet that helps reduce the phone’s surface temperature during heavy workloads. The case keeps the device cooler in scenarios like gaming, video rendering, or using navigation at high brightness.

The micro-pump runs automatically and adjusts its behavior based on the phone’s temperature and workload. It turns on or shuts down without any manual input, since the case does not include a physical switch. The system draws power wirelessly from the smartphone through reverse wireless charging, so the case does not require separate cables or an external power source.

The accessory is currently listed on Vmall for sale in China.

Samsung is preparing to launch its latest generation of foldable smartphones in the market soon. But prior to its official release, there have been a number of rumors and reports regarding the new phones. And now, the latest leak hints at the design of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 model after images of its unreleased protective case surfaced online.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 to launch with new hinge & improved cameras

According to a new report, the South Korean tech giant’s Galaxy Z Fold 5 model’s protective case was leaked by a Chinese blogger. This leak shares live images of the protective case. Looking at these images, we can see that the device will feature a long oval camera module based on the cutout. Meanwhile, there is also space for the front facing cover display that is expected to be a 6.2 inch AMOLED panel that supports 120Hz refresh rate.

Based on what we know so far, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will sport a tall 7.6 inch primary foldable AMOLED display that supports QHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Both panels will also featuer Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for added protection. Under the hood, the smartphone will likely be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC that will be paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

The rear is expected to feature a triple camera setup that will consists of a 50 megapixel primary sensor, a 12 megapixel ultra wide angle lens, and a 10 megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Meanwhile the front is believed to house a 12 megapixel selfie camera. In our previous reports, we know that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will feature a new and improved hinge mechanism and even had its design renders leaked as well.

Over the last couple of days, we have covered some rumors and reports regarding the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Now, the company’s top end flagship has been spotted on an official platform, thanks to a protective case listing.

According to an ITHome report, the new protective covers were spotted on the Xiaomi Youpin platform, with the intended model being stated as well. In other words, the new cases were for the Chinese tech giant’s upcoming 12 Ultra smartphone, which will be a part of the flagship 12 series. Notably, this is further confirmed based on the cutouts that can be observed on the back of the cover.

We recently had covered renders of the 12 Ultra, with the smartphone being depicted with a large circular camera module on the rear. The cover also has a similar cutout to be in line with this design. We can also clearly see five image sensors on the rear as well. Notably, the protective cover has a total of seven cutouts on the back, including the LED flash and another sensor module.

From what we know so far, the rear of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to pack at least a 50 megapixel primary sensor, paired with two 48 megapixel sensors for the ultra wide angle lens and the periscopic telephoto lens as well. The specifications of the rest are still unknown, but the lenses are expected to be made by Leica, as a part of the new partnership. Looking at the online listings, the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s cover also features a design that resembles last gen models. The company has made a cover for nearly every situation, which is perfect for those that do not wish to buy a cover from a third party accessories maker. The online listing showcase the classic silicone cover, which fits snug on the phone and features a minimalist design that also protects the rear panel from scratches. It is also a lightweight offering that likely supports fast charging, while offering full access to all ports and controls as well.

Similarly, the Smart LED is another classic case that displays the notifications along with some basic information on the cover, without need to open the case. Moving forward, we can also see the Ultra Clear View case, which as the name suggests, offers a direct view to the display. This small segment also offers basic information, and displays notifications too. MobileFun also lists a clear standing cover, which is another beloved cover that lets users have clear look at their premium grade handset along with some added protection.
