The standard Sony PS5 Disc Edition in India has come down to 47,490 INR thanks to a notable 7,500 INR discount. For those unaware, the Japanese tech giant’s console is usually sold in the region for 54,990 INR. This deal is currently available on multiple platforms like Flipkart, Amazon, ShopatSC, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales. Furthermore, buyers on Flipkart can avail an additional 3,000 INR discount, while Amazon users can expect a 2,000 INR discount.

In other words, the Sony PS5 console has an effective price tag of just 44,490 INR. There are no-cost EMI options on the two e-retailers’ websites as well. Apart from this, there are bank offers and cashback deals when purchasing the PS5. This lowers the price even further when paired with the aforementioned discounts.

It is worth noting that the Sony PS5 discount in India has already kicked off, but will only continue till August 7. Sony has just announced the next restock for its popular PlayStation 5 game consoles for the Indian market. The company revealed the restock date, which is just a couple of days away and will also come with the new hiked pricing. So let’s have a look.

As per a promotional poster image, the Japanese tech giant is set to restock the new PS5 consoles in the region on the 11th of November 2022. Furthermore, the consoles will also be available with a new price tag, since the brand raised the pricing of this console model in the country. In other words, it is now around 5,000 INR (roughly 61 US Dollars) costlier than before. So the new PlayStation 5 Digital Edition costs 48,490 INR (roughly 596 US Dollars), while the PlayStation Horizon Bundle (Disc Edition) costs 58,990 INR (roughly 725 US Dollars).

Meaning, Sony has hiked the pricing for both the console and its bundles. This change in pricing is expected to be reflected in other bundles like the Gran Turismo 7 and God of War Ragnarok soon as well. The new price updates will go live on the online retailers’ websites soon, which include the likes of Amazon, Flipkart, ShopatSonyCenter, Games The Shop, and others. Sony has just increased the price of its PlayStation 5. This is the first time the Japanese brand is hiking the price of the console since its launch back in 2020. The development is bad news for those planning to purchase the console. The revised pricing of the PlayStation 5 has been updated on Sony’s ShopAtSC website. 

Sony had previously hiked the price of the PlayStation 5 in other markets. Hence, it was just a matter of time before the console became expensive in India as well. Notably, Sony’s competitor Microsoft also increased the prices of the Xbox Series X and S for the third time in the country along with some controllers and accessories. During the price hike of the PS5 in other markets excluding India, Sony cited high global inflation, currency fluctuations, and economic slowdown as the main reasons. 

Sony has raised the prices of both the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition. Both have become expensive by Rs 4,000. The PS5 was available for Rs 49,990 and is now priced at Rs 54,990 which is a 10 percent increase above its original price. The Digital Edition costs Rs 44,990, up 12.5 percent from Rs 39,990. Fortunately, the prices of PS5 accessories like DualSense controller, Pulse 3D headphones, DualSense Charging Station, and HD camera remain the same.

The only difference between the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition is that the former comes with a 4K Blu-ray disk slot. Both consoles are powered by an octa-core AMD CPU paired with 16GB GDDR6 RAM and 1TB SSD.

Sony has just recently started shipping new models of the PlayStation 5 in India. These new models of the popular gaming console are more power efficient and lighter than the original launch versions. So here’s all the details.

Previously, we had reported on the Japanese tech giant rolling out new models of the PS5 console. Now, it appears that the company is launching the same models in India as well. For those unaware, the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) has approved the new PS5 CFI-1208A and CFI-1208B models. In other words, we can expect the new game consoles to make its way to India with an upcoming local restock.

For those unaware, the new PS5 CFI-1200 series comes with an overhaul in the internal design. These changes makes the newer PS5 models more power efficient while also helping offer better thermal performance as well. This is made possible due to a new and smaller motherboard and improved cooling system that consists of an additional heat pipe and a smaller heatsink. Thanks to these changes, the newer PS5 variants is around .45 kilograms lighter than the original launch events.

Apart from these smaller changes in design, Sony is also rumored to be working on a major refresh for the PS5. This notable redesign will reportedly have the brand launch a PS5 model that has a detachable disc drive, which would attach to the gaming console through a USB Type C port. It means we can expect the console to either bundle with the disc drive, or the latter could be sold separately as an accessory.

For those unaware, the Japanese tech giant has been struggling to keep a sufficient inventory for its latest generation of console. There have been various reasons for this stocking issue, ranging from supply constraints, chip shortage, and more. But now, the company has managed to bring its latest batch to the Indian market through various major retailers. This includes the likes of Amazon, ShopatSC, Flipkart, GamesTheShop, Vijay Sales, Croma, among others.

Notably, similar to the previous restocking, the ShopatSC is offering the Gran Turismo 7 with the standard PlayStation 5. This bundle will be priced at 54,990 INR (roughly 710 US Dollars). Although, this deal isn’t being offered with the PS5 Digital Edtiion, which is priced at 39,990 INR (roughly 516 US Dollars). On the other hand, the standard edition costs 49,990 INR (roughly 645 US Dollars). The only difference between the standard and digital edition is that the latter does not feature a optical disc drive, so it can only run games that are downloaded onto its internal storage.

Keep in mind that the Sony PlayStation 5 is in high demand right now. In other words, the restocked inventory likely won’t last for too long once the listings go live in the various retailers websites and stores. Sony seems to have done another oopsie with respect to India’s PlayStation 5 launch. The first pre-order, which happened on January 12, didn’t go well with fans. Apparently, the stocks vanished in a flash leaving many customers disappointed which was visible on social media comments. Now, Sony has given another shocker regarding the PS5 pre-orders.

According to a Twitter post(via Gadgets360), Sony has confirmed that there won’t be any more pre-orders for the PS5 before February 2 launch. Back on January 12, customers were fuming regarding the less pre-order time and stocks planned by Sony. However, they were at least hoping that another pre-order would set things right.

Sony has now shattered those dreams at least that’s what the report says. It says that it’s not planning pre-orders before the first launch that is on February 2. This means disheartened fans will have to wait for another two weeks to know when will the next sale/pre-order be.

Sony’s PS5 fans in India have been in a bit of rollercoaster emotions right from the price announcement.   Although the latter came way back in October, Sony had reportedly canceled the launch multiple times one of which was allegedly on November 19. The frustration was so much that people started buying the imported units for as high as ₹90,000($1230).

Even after the official announcement on the first day of this year, Sony shocked the audience by confirming the absence of Digital Edition during the pre-orders. That said, we are yet to get an official number on how many units were exactly reserved for January 12.

Either way, it has officially requested us to stay in touch with retailers for the next phase of pre-orders. Hence, if you are planning to get a PS5 in India, the best you can do is contact a retailer near you to know what’s going on right now.

In case you don’t know, PS5 in India is priced at ₹49,990($684) for 4K Blue-ray Disc Drive Edition and ₹39,990($547) for Digital Edition. Also, as stated before, only the Disc Drive edition along with Dual Sense Wireless Controller(₹5,990), and Media Remote(₹2,590) will be available on February 2.

Sony‘s PlayStation India, via a Twitter post, made the breaking announcement. Accordingly, the next-gen Gaming Console will launch officially on February 2, 2021, in India. Before that, you can start pre-ordering it from January 12 at 12 PM IST(UTC+ 05:00). Below is the list of online and retail partners where you can pre-order the PS5:

The Sony PlayStation 5 is coming after a three-month delay in India. Right from the first official launch on November 12(US, Japan), it has been under great demand. The company tried its best to improve the stock during November 19 launch in Europe.

Nevertheless, the India launch finally is here and it is definitely going to add up to the tally of 3.4 million unit sales Sony had already achieved elsewhere last year.

Sony’s PlayStation 5(PS5) is the talk of the town lately. The next-gen console went officially on sale in two phases: One on November 12(US, Japan), and on November 19(Europe). However, India is yet to get a pre-order and launch date. And it looks like we might have to wait a bit longer as Sony has denied claims of a January 2021 launch.

According to The Mako Reactor, a Sony representative confirmed through email that Sony Interactive Entertainment hasn’t announced a date yet. The response comes at a time when rumors of a January 2021 launch are floating around everywhere. After rounds of November launch rumors, certain retail stores in India reportedly got verbal word from Sony that PS5 will be available by Jan 2021.

Apparently, some of its employees told retailers about a Jan 2021 launch informally but declined to confirm it via email. This is reportedly due to vent off the pressure that the company is facing ever since the launch. However, the Sony representative’s official response says otherwise. He further adds that Sony will share more information as and when available. And seeks everyone to look out for official channels’ news.

This suggests that Sony is not yet firm on the Indian launch. Sony’s PlayStation 5 is getting a lot of reception globally and the company is trying its best to maintain stocks. And, people in India are so eager that they are ready to buy it unofficially for as high as ₹90,000. Still, Sony has confirmed that these units would be devoid of warranty and recommends waiting for the official launch.

Coming back, according to Supply Chain sources, several complexities lie ahead for the Indian launch. And apparently, only about 12,000 to 15,000 units would be available initially. Before you relax, PS5’s Digital Edition units are likely to be in very short numbers too.

Back in October, when Sony India released the pricing of PS5, it got a great response. That is because the PS5 Digital Edition is priced(₹39,999) close to Xbox Series S(₹34,999) which is inferior to the former. Anyway, it looks like PS5 fans in India will have to be patient for a couple of more months.
