Unlike the S20 and S20 Plus, the Ultra model features a 108MP primary camera sensor on the back.</p>
<p>However, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s20-ultra/">S20 Ultra</a> suffers from a focusing issue where the focus of the camera is much slower, and sometimes it misses the subject altogether. Reports indicate that this could be because of the lack of dual-pixel PDAF on the 108MP sensor.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-324335 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-20-CAD-Renders-3.jpg?x10805" alt="Samsung Galaxy Note 20+" width="940" height="627" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-20-CAD-Renders-3.jpg 940w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-20-CAD-Renders-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-20-CAD-Renders-3-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-20-CAD-Renders-3-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-20-CAD-Renders-3-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px" /></p>
<p>Now, Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy Note20 series smartphones in the coming months and as per the report, the focusing issue with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/108mp">108MP camera sensor</a> has been resolved on the upcoming devices. But what exactly did the company do to solve the issue has not been revealed yet.</p>
<p>As for the chipset, all the models of the Galaxy Note20 lineup will come powered by the upcoming Qualcomm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/26/qualcomm-snapdragon-865-plus-launch-july/">Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC</a>, which as the name itself indicates, is an upgraded variant of the SD865 chipset.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/29/indian-government-bans-59-chinese-mobile-apps-including-tiktok-uc-browser-and-wechat/">Indian Government bans 59 Chinese mobile apps including TikTok, UC Browser and WeChat</a></strong></h6>
<p>Not just the Note20 series, the Galaxy Fold 2, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, and the Galaxy Tab S7 are also said to come powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset. However, in some regions, the devices could be powered by Samsung&#8217;s own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/28/samsung-exynos-992-5nm-chips-begin-mass-production-from-august-features-cortex-a78-and-mali-g78-gpu/">Exynos 992</a> SoC.</p>
<p>Samsung typically announces the Galaxy Note series flagship smartphones in the month of August and is expected to follow the trend this year as well. As per the reports, Samsung Galaxy <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/10/samsung-galaxy-z-flip-5g-note-20-fold-2-and-watch-3-to-debut-on-august-5/">Unpacked event could be hosted on 5th August</a> but the company is yet to confirm the launch date. If this turns out to be true, then it will be the first online-only Unpacked event from the South Korean giant, because of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/covid-19">COVID-19</a> pandemic.</p>
<p>It remains to be seen if the company decides to start selling the smartphone soon after the official announcement, given that the sales could be impacted if the situation doesn&#8217;t improve anytime soon. The Samsung Galaxy S20 series, despite being the leader in 5G smartphone sales in the United States, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/06/samsung-galaxy-s20-series-sale-usa/">is underperforming</a> compared to its predecessors.</p>

However, that could change from next month.</p>
<p>As per the report, the upgraded variant of the chipset, dubbed as Snapdragon 865 Plus could get launched in July 2020. Thus, most of the devices getting launched in the second half of this year will be powered by the upcoming SD865 Plus SoC.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-329264 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/sd865-plus-leak.png?x10805" alt="SD865 Plus Launch Details Leak" width="598" height="140" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/sd865-plus-leak.png 598w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/sd865-plus-leak-300x70.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px" /></p>
<p>The same thing happened last year. When Qualcomm <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/07/15/snapdragon-855-plus-announced-higher-clockspeed-but-same-old-modem/">launched the Snapdragon 855 Plus </a>as the upgraded variant of the SD855, the flagship devices getting launched after that were powered by the Plus variant. Even some models were re-launched with SD855 Plus inside.</p>
<p>Coming to the chipset, it is being reported that Snapdragon 865 Plus may have a clock speed of 3.09GHz, compared to 2.84GHz in SD865. The device spotted with such high clock speed was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/asus-rog-phone-3/">ASUS ROG Phone 3</a>. Interestingly, the ROG Phone 2 was the first device to get launched powered by SD855 Plus.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-263536 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/snapdragon.jpg?x10805" alt="Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor" width="750" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/snapdragon.jpg 750w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/snapdragon-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/snapdragon-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/snapdragon-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px" /></p>
<p>According to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/antutu">AnTuTu</a> listing, the chipset has a total score of 646,310 points, which includes a CPU score of 183,149 points, a GPU score of 247,932 points, MEM score of 111,239 points and UX score of 103,990 points.</p>
<p>Recently, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G specifications leaked online, which also revealed that the device will come powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset. The smartphone is expected to get launched in a couple of months, along with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-note-20">Galaxy Note 20</a> series and the Galaxy Fold 2 smartphone.</p>
<p>There has been so much conflicting information regarding this Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset. While it was earlier rumored to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/16/rumor-snapdragon-865-plus-coming-in-q3-2020/">get launched in Q3 2020</a>, some reports hinted that it&#8217;s not coming. Then <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/22/no-snapdragon-865-plus-this-year-says-meizu-cmo/">Meizu&#8217;s executive said</a> that SD865 Plus isn&#8217;t coming this year. However, soon after that, devices powered by the same chipset kept surfacing online and now it is expected to get launched next month.</p>
