Since the webpage states that the “Future LG G7” supports Quick Charge 4.0, some tech sites are speculating that the smartphone may feature Snapdragon 835.</p>
<p>The Snapdragon 835 mobile platform is the first 10nm chipset from Qualcomm. When the U.S. based chip maker had announced the chipset November 2016, it only carried support Quick Charge 4.0. However, in June 2017, Qualcomm had introduced Quick Charge 4+ for Snapdragon 835. The chipset also supports Quick Charge 3.0.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-166103" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/LG-G7-found-listed-on-official-website.png?x44794" alt="LG G7 found listed on official website" width="878" height="589" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/LG-G7-found-listed-on-official-website.png 878w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/LG-G7-found-listed-on-official-website-300x201.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/LG-G7-found-listed-on-official-website-768x515.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 878px) 100vw, 878px" /></p>
<p>The newly unveiled Snapdragon 845 which is the second-generation 10nm chipset from Qualcomm that carries support for Quick Charge 4.0 as well as Quick Charge 4+. Since the “Future LG G7” listing states that it only carries support for Quick Charge 4.0 and not 4+, it is being speculated that the Snapdragon 835 chipset will be powering it. However, there are many Snapdragon 835 chipset driven smartphones in the market that include Quick Charge 3.0.</p>
<p>Last year also, Samsung had received the starting stock of the Snapdragon 835 for the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/Samsung-galaxy-s8/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Galaxy S8</a> and <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/Samsung-galaxy-s8-2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Galaxy S8+</a> phones, because of which other smartphone OEMs could not release SD835 powered phones before the Galaxy S8 duo arrived in the market. Hence, the LG G6 that was launched before the Galaxy S8 and S8+ came with Snapdragon 821. The other reason why LG included Snapdragon 821 inside the LG G6 is that the company had not used the SD821 in any of its smartphones.</p>
<p>The initial stocks of the Snapdragon 845 have been acquired by Samsung for powering its Galaxy S9 and S9+ smartphones. Hence, it is speculated that the Snapdragon 835 powered LG G7 may get unveiled may get unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 to take on the Galaxy S9 duo.</p>
<p>The Snapdragon 821 chipset powered <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-g6/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LG G6</a> as well as the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/product/lg-v30/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LG V30</a> that is driven by Snapdragon 835 carry support Quick Charge 3.0. This shows that the smartphones OEMs can choose the desired Quick Charge version on any of the supported chipset by Qualcomm.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-120383" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/LG-G6-1.jpg?x44794" alt="LG G6" width="720" height="510" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/LG-G6-1.jpg 720w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/LG-G6-1-300x213.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/LG-G6-1-255x180.jpg 255w" sizes="(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More: </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/03/lg-rebrand-g-series-smartphone-lineup/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LG To Reportedly Rebrand Its G-Series Smartphone Lineup</a></strong></p>
<p>A South Korean publication had reported yesterday that the LG G7 would be <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/01/09/lg-g7-launch-pushed-march-followed-market-release-april-claims-report/">debuting in March followed by a market release in April</a>. Since the report claims that the LG G7 will be arriving in the market after the Galaxy S9 duo, it is likely that the Snapdragon 845 chipset will be powering it. As far as the listing of the “Future LG G7” with Quick Charge 4.0 support on the official site is concerned, it may so happen that the smartphone may include support for QC 4.0 and not 4+ as the chipset supports both the fast charging technologies.</p>
<p>Do you think LG will settle with Snapdragon 835 for LG G7 or it will feature the new Snapdragon 845? Express your thoughts by posting your comments below.</p>

The chargers though made by a third-party company are the first to be certified by Qualcomm. Below is an unboxing and quick review of the wall charger.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-161975" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger.jpg?x44794" alt="Quick Charge 4+ Charger" width="700" height="467" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger.jpg 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p>The charger comes in a blue and white box and is made by Ever Win (Dongguan Yi. Electronics) International Corp. The charger itself has a matte black flame retardant shell with an American plug. There is a USB-C output port on top and a Quick Charge logo below it.</p>
<p>On one side of the charger, the various charging outputs are listed. There is 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 11V/2.4A, and 12V/2.25. However, a test using a ChargerLAB POWER-Z USB voltmeter revealed that the charger also supports Quick Charge 2.0, Quick Charge 3.0, and USB Power Delivery 3.0.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-161980" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-protocol.jpg?x44794" alt="Quick Charge 4+ protocol" width="688" height="608" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-protocol.jpg 688w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-protocol-300x265.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 688px) 100vw, 688px" /></p>
<p>Below is a table of various phones, supported charging technology and the amount of watts drawn when using the QC4+ charger.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-161968" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Table-1.png?x44794" alt="" width="827" height="370" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Table-1.png 827w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Table-1-300x134.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Table-1-768x344.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 827px) 100vw, 827px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-161967" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Table-2.png?x44794" alt="" width="776" height="718" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Table-2.png 776w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Table-2-300x278.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Table-2-768x711.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 776px) 100vw, 776px" /></p>
<p>The Huawei Mate 9 is able to charge at up to 17.69W. It is followed closely by the iPhone 8 Plus which charges at 9.09V/1.90A (16.27W), and the Meizu PRO5 at 9.10A/1.78A (16.20W). All the above mentioned devices support USB Power Delivery. However, the New MacBook Pro didn&#8217;t charge fast even though it also supports USB PD.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-161966" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger-USB-PD-table.png?x44794" alt="" width="769" height="238" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger-USB-PD-table.png 769w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger-USB-PD-table-300x93.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger-USB-PD-table-768x238.png 768w" sizes="(max-width: 769px) 100vw, 769px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-161965" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger-USB-PD-table-2.png?x44794" alt="" width="761" height="545" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger-USB-PD-table-2.png 761w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Quick-Charge-4-Charger-USB-PD-table-2-300x215.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 761px) 100vw, 761px" /></p>
<p>The charger also doesn&#8217;t supports Apple&#8217;s 2.4A fast charging protocol, so using this charger with your iPad Air 2 or iPhone 7 won&#8217;t give you the fastest possible charging speed.</p>
<p>For Quick Charge 3.0, the charger was able to charge the Sony Xperia XZ premium and the Xiaomi Mi 5.</p>
<p>Its interesting to know that the charger supports multiple charging protocols even though not all devices are able to take advantage of it.</p>

Some have more and that means multiple chargers. It&#8217;s a pain having to carry so many chargers around, that&#8217;s why we now have chargers with multiple ports. One charger to rule them all sort of. The Chuwi Hi-Dock is a multi-port charger too but it also adds a much needed function, a dock.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-135281" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Chuwi-Hi-Dock.jpg?x44794" alt="Chuwi Hi-Dock" width="1200" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Chuwi-Hi-Dock.jpg 1200w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Chuwi-Hi-Dock-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Chuwi-Hi-Dock-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Chuwi-Hi-Dock-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Chuwi-Hi-Dock-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /></p>
<p>The Chuwi Hi-Dock has four ports, one of which is a Quick Charge 3.0 port and the other three are 5V/2.4A ports. Each port has a plastic flap that covers it. When you raise the flap, it can serve as a dock that holds your phone or tablet while charging. It is a neat addition and will come in handy when you are charging and watching a video at the same time.</p>

<p>The charger has AiCharge technology that detects the right amount of amperage and wattage your device requires, allowing it to charge faster. The charger has a glossy mirror-like finish with 4 anti-skid rubber pads at the base. It is light weight, coming in at 145g and measures 81 × 81 × 28 mm making it easy to take around. It&#8217;s available in white but we hope there will be more colors to choose from when it launches in mid-June. Price has also not been revealed.</p>

The Nubia Z17 joins the exclusive list of Snapdragon 835-powered smartphones and it even takes it further by becoming the first SD835 phone with a whopping 8GB of RAMand also one of the first smartphones in the market with such a large RAM size.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Nubia-Z17-colors-and-design.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-134223" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Nubia-Z17-colors-and-design.png?x44794" alt="Nubia Z17 colors and design" width="1262" height="789" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Nubia-Z17-colors-and-design.png 1262w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Nubia-Z17-colors-and-design-300x188.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Nubia-Z17-colors-and-design-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Nubia-Z17-colors-and-design-1024x640.png 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1262px) 100vw, 1262px" /></a></p>
<p>When the Nubia Z17 was launched, one of the features which made headlines was the support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0, later revealed to be QC 4+. The Z17 was tipped to be the first smartphone to come with support for the latest fast charging technology which none of the other SD 835-powered phones feature. But in a shocking twist, Nubia customer service has revealed that the Z17 only comes with a Quick Charge 3.0 charger because right now there are no QC 4.0 chargers available.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/nubia-z17-charger.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-134539" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/nubia-z17-charger.jpg?x44794" alt="nubia z17" width="600" height="132" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/nubia-z17-charger.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/nubia-z17-charger-300x66.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></a></p>
<p>Apparently, Qualcomm only made the Snapdragon 835 have support for QC 4+ without developing a charger that supports the feature yet. So in that case, Nubia included QC 3.0 charger with the Z17 which is clearly touted as having QC 4+ support. Rightly so, the Nubia Z17 comes with support for Qualcomm&#8217;s latest QC 4+ but since you don&#8217;t get a supported charger inside the package, all you can achieve is QC 3.0.</p>

<p>That is some level of fast charging technology but<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/02/quick-charge-4-unveiled15-faster-30-efficient-quick-charge-4-0/"> Quick Charge 4+ is up to 15 percent faster</a>, or 30 percent more efficient, while charging up to 5° C cooler. The fast charge is touted as capable of delivering up to 50% of charge in just 5 minutes. Unfortunately, users won&#8217;t get that for now. The company has not revealed if they would be making the charger available later on or when that would be. But it is possible the charger will be sold separately whenever it becomes available since that is the only hindrance to the use of the feature.</p>

Qualcomm had announced Quick Charge 4.0 feature when it introduced the Snapdragon 835 chipset in November last year. It has been only six months since its launch and Qualcomm has now its improved version called Quick Charge 4+.</p>
<p>Compared to its predecessor, the Quick Charge 4 offers 20 percent faster charging speed and is 30 percent more efficient. Even though a couple of Snapdragon 835 smartphones have released this year such as Samsung <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Galaxy S8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-s8-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Galaxy S8+</a>, Sony <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/sony-xperia-xz-premium/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xperia XZ Premium</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-6/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi Mi 6</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/htc-u11/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">HTC U11</a>, none of them carry support for Quick Charge 4.0. The newly launched ZTE Nubia Z17 is the first smartphone to feature Quick Charge 4+.</p>
<p>The following image explains that Quick Charge 4+ is up to 3 degrees cooler, up to 15 percent faster and up to 30 percent more efficient than its previous version.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-134308 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/quick_charge_blog_inline_resized.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="688" height="608" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/quick_charge_blog_inline_resized.jpg 688w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/quick_charge_blog_inline_resized-300x265.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 688px) 100vw, 688px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">Read More:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/05/28/snapdragon-845-will-feature-arms-new-cortex-a75-a55-cores/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Snapdragon 845 Will Feature ARM&#8217;s New Cortex-A75 and A55 Cores</a></strong></p>
<p>The Quick Charge 4+ has all the features that is available on QC 4.0. However, it is available with three additional improvements such as:</p>
<p>Dual Charge:  This feature is already present in predecessor versions of Quick Charge. However, it has become more powerful in QC 4+ as it is equipped with a second power management IC. The Dual Charge feature divides the charge current which makes it possible for lower thermal dissipation and decreases the charging time.</p>
<p>Intelligent Thermal Balancing: This feature drives the current through the coolest path of dual charging pathways. This will help in preventing potential hot spot. This also enables optimized power delivery.</p>
<p>Advanced Safety Features: Quick Charge 4 has inbuilt safety protocols and in QC 4+, Qualcomm has added a feature that keeps a track of temperature levels of the case and connector at the same time. This will prevent problems like overheating and damage to the USB-C port.</p>
<p>Since <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/01/nubia-z17-launched-8gb-ram-bezel-less-design-snapdragon-835/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Nubia Z17</a> has arrived with QC 4+, it is likely that we may soon see more flagship phones with new quick charging standard from Qualcomm. Chargers, USB hubs, power banks enabled with Quick Charge 4+ will be backward compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 and 2.0.</p>

The phone will be the first dual camera phone from the manufacturer. Turns out the device is called the Nubia Z17 Mini!!!</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The name was leaked on Weibo by “@Kunamato Science” and also includes the full specs of the device. First, let&#8217;s talk about the name. Nubia released the Z11 series last year, so we are pretty surprised at the jump to 17. Apart from that, the name also hints that we will probably get to see a Z17 and probably a Z11 Max too.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-121930 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Nubia-Z17-Mini-Weibo.png?x44794" alt="Nubia Z17 Mini Weibo" width="667" height="429" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Nubia-Z17-Mini-Weibo.png 667w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Nubia-Z17-Mini-Weibo-300x193.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-121931 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Nubia-Z17-Mini-Specs.jpg?x44794" alt="Nubia Z17 Mini Specs" width="162" height="546" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Nubia-Z17-Mini-Specs.jpg 162w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Nubia-Z17-Mini-Specs-89x300.jpg 89w" sizes="(max-width: 162px) 100vw, 162px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Nubia Z17 Mini will be available in multiple color variants with different configurations. There will be a black gold and gold variant with a Snapdragon 652 processor and 4GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 653 SoC + 6GB RAM respectively. There will also be a blue variant with 4GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 653 processor. Storage on all variants will be 64GB (eMMC 5.0).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">All versions will have dual 13MP Sony IMX258 cameras on the rear and a 16MP camera up front for selfies. The Nubia Z17 Mini will sport a 5.2-inch 1080p display. A 3000mAh battery will power the phone and it will have support for Quick Charge 3.0. There will also be a USB Type-C port and pricing for the Nubia Z17 Mini will be capped at ¥1899 ($275).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-121929" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Nubia-Z17-Mini-Weibo-2.png?x44794" alt="Nubia Z17 Mini Weibo 2" width="670" height="623" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Nubia-Z17-Mini-Weibo-2.png 670w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Nubia-Z17-Mini-Weibo-2-300x279.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 670px) 100vw, 670px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The leakster also says that the Nubia Z17 Mini won&#8217;t have its camera design stacked side by side on the left. But will instead be positioned in the middle of the phone and stacked on top of each other.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">What do you think about the Nubia Z17 Mini? Impressive but confusing specs sums it up.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">When the Le Max 2 was released this year it sold for 2099 yuan for the 4GB+32GB model but over the months, it has had its price cut multiple times. Now you can pick up a unit with the same configuration above for just 1299 yuan (~$187)!</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The Le Max 2 apart from sporting a Snapdragon 820 chip, also features a 5.7-inch 2K display, a 21MP rear camera, an 8MP selfie shooter, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. There is full network support, VoLTE and its is one of the few phones out of China with a wide range of band support that lets it work in over 200 countries. The Le Max 2 has a 3100mAh battery that supports QC 3.0 fast charging technology. It also comes with Android Marshmallow out of the box, though we hope LeEco announces an Android Nougat update for it soon.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Do not forget that the Le Max 2 doesn&#8217;t have an audio jack but instead provides lossless audio via the USB type-C port,</p>

The information comes in form of a number of images of a phone called the Xiaomi Mi S posted on Weibo by @C数码猫 (C Digital cat).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-112446" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi-mi-s" width="640" height="347" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-300x163.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-112445" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-2.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi-mi-s-2" width="640" height="347" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-2.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-2-300x163.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Xiaomi Mi S is expected to feature a 4.6-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.0 storage. It will come with a 2600mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and will have a 12MP main camera and a 4MP front facing shooter. You might think since the Xiaomi Mi S will be featuring a small battery and display it will have a thin profile, but surprisingly, the dimensions of the phone puts its thickness at 8.2mm, its length at 128.3mm and width at 64.2mm.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">A more detailed description of the specs says the main camera which is positioned at the top right corner with a dual LED flash beside it, is a Sony IMX378 sensor with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and an 80° viewing angle. The camera will be able to shoot 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 120fps.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-112444" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-3.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi-mi-s-3" width="640" height="347" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-3.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-3-300x163.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-112443" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-4.jpg?x44794" alt="xiaomi-mi-s-4" width="640" height="342" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-4.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Xiaomi-Mi-S-4-300x160.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Xiaomi Mi S appears to use a single nano-sim card with support for 3x carrier aggregation(3xCA). The phone will support 4G+, 4G, 3G,and 2G networks. It will also have NFC, dual WiFi band support, WiDi, and WiFi Direct.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Xiaomi is using a simple design for the Xiaomi Mi S. The audio jack is at the bottom and it sits on the left side of the USB Type-C port and speaker grille. The fingerprint scanner also appears to be an ultra-sonic one like that of the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/10/12/xiaomi-mi5s-review/">Xiaomi Mi 5S</a>.</p>

While the affordable ones require you to use your phone as the engine behind the headset, the more expensive ones like the HTC Vive and PlayStation VR require a more powerful hardware and keeps you rooted to a particular area. However, there is a middle ground between those two categories: the VR headsets that have a built-in engine and provide the same freedom of mobility as the ones powered by a phone. That&#8217;s the category the Storm Mirror Matrix belongs too.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-112082 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-1.jpg?x44794" alt="Storm Mirror Matrix" width="600" height="385" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Storm Mirror Matrix is a VR headset with a 3K display (1620 x 2880), a ppi of 705 and a 110° field of view. It is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor and has 4GB of RAM.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Matrix has adjustable focus to cater for those with myopia. You can change the focus by up to 600° via a knob at the top of the headset. Storm Mirror has put a 5000mAh battery that can last for up to 4 hours on a single charge in the Matrix. It also has Quick Charge 3.0 support, so you can recharge in a short time and get back to playing that game or watching that video.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-112079 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-4.jpg?x44794" alt="Storm Mirror Matrix" width="600" height="402" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-4.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-4-300x201.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-112081 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Storm Mirror Matrix" width="600" height="377" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-2.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-2-300x189.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-112080 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-3.jpg?x44794" alt="Storm Mirror Matrix" width="600" height="316" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-3.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-3-300x158.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-112078 size-full" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-5.jpg?x44794" alt="Storm Mirror Matrix" width="600" height="402" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-5.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Storm-Mirror-Matrix-5-300x201.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Storm Mirror says the Matrix runs on a custom user interface called Magic UI 2.0. Sadly, they didn&#8217;t provide much details about it. The Storm Mirror Matrix is priced at ¥2499 (~$431) which is still expensive but not as pricey as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.</p>

However, like all tech products, soon, the Snapdragon 821 that we say is so powerful, will be replaced by an even powerful<strong> Snapdragon 830 chipset</strong> and that should most likely happen early 2017.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/sd-830.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-101717" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/sd-830.jpg?x44794" alt="Snapdragon 830" width="618" height="368" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/sd-830.jpg 618w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/sd-830-300x179.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 618px) 100vw, 618px" /></a></p>
<p>Now, more details about the Snapdragon 830 chip and its Quick Charging 4.0 technology has just been revealed via a new report. The new chip is said to come with an ever faster Quick Charging technology, the fourth generation version. The Quick Charge 4.0 is said to charge smartphones at an even faster pace because it comes with 28W charging. Fudzilla states that the chip will support 5V/4.7A~5.6A, 9V/4A configurations, which if true, will make charging super fast. Further, thanks to the Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV), the technology should be able to charge large batteries, which is becoming a trend among flagships, even faster.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">RELATED:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/10/09/qualcomms-snapdragon-830-chips-msm8998-zauba/">Snapdragon 830 Chip Spotted On Zauba Website</a></strong></p>
<p>The first Snapdragon 820 smartphone, the<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/01/05/le-max-pro-official-worlds-first-snapdragon-820-powered-smartphone/"> Le Max Pro</a> (although it wasn&#8217;t commercially available) was released as early as January this year. So, we could meet the first Snapdragon 830 chip as soon as January 2017. However, there was a good reason for Qualcomm to speed up the release of the 820, after the big debacle with the overheating Snapdragon 810.</p>
<p>This year, things are different and much more positive for the chipmaker, especially with Snapdragon 821 still fresh, powering new flagships. So, Qualcomm could release the Snapdragon 830 a bit later into 2017, rather than giving it a very early release. Well, we&#8217;ll know for sure in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more details.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">Huawei seems to have come up with their own fast charge technology called Supercharge and they have applied for a trademark for it in the European Union. A prototype of the Supercharge technology was demoed last year at a battery symposium in Japan when a 3000 mAh Li-ion battery was charged to nearly 50% in 5 minutes and a 600 mAh battery charged to 68% in 2 minutes. That is really really fast if you ask me. While there were opinions raised about it damaging the battery, we want to believe the batteries were specially made to withstand that voltage and current, and even if there is a risk, the issue must have been solved already for them to want to trademark the name. Do not forget that applying for a trademark means that you intend to use something commercially.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">People have speculated that the charging technology might start showing up in future Huawei devices, with the Huawei Mate 9 being the first device to feature the charging technology. When Supercharge does launch,it will go up against Qualcomm&#8217;s Quick Charge 3.0, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/05/02/oneplus-dash-charge-indicates-fast-charge-tech/">OnePlus&#8217;s Dash Charge</a> (or OPPO&#8217;s VOOC) and other fast charging technologies.</p>

Users are interacting a lot with their devices and the devices consume battery power very fast. Charging has come to be one of the main activities in using today’s mobile devices. That is where Qualcomm comes to the rescue with a technology to charge devices with a reportedly four times faster speed.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/quick-charge-3-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-58965" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/quick-charge-3-01.jpg?x44794" alt="quick-charge-3-01" width="805" height="456" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/quick-charge-3-01.jpg 805w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/quick-charge-3-01-300x170.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/quick-charge-3-01-741x420.jpg 741w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/quick-charge-3-01-640x363.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/quick-charge-3-01-681x386.jpg 681w" sizes="(max-width: 805px) 100vw, 805px" /></a></p>
<p>The Quick Charge 3.0 is an improved version of its predecessor Quick Charge 2.0. Qualcomm claims that this new charging technology has an 80% faster charging speed than a normal charging apparatus delivered with a mobile device. Associated with the charging speed is an embedded algorithmic technology called Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage or INOV for devices to determine their own voltage demand. The Quick charge 3.0 also features a finer charging voltage selection in 200mV resolution ranging between 3.6 to 20 volts with a USB Type-C connection. Quick Charge 3.0 can charge a device from 0% to 80% in just 35 minutes!</p>
<p>The San Diego-based chip maker Qualcomm is promising to launch the Quick Charge 3.0 with one of their newest Snapdragon processors. Soon the long periods of time required for device charging will be history as users get used to this charging technology, meaning more time for interacting with your device while it is free from cords and plugs.</p>
<p>Guess what, Snapdragon 820, 620, 618, 617, and 430 support Quick Charge 3.0. This means many of the smartphones that we see next year would feature this fast charging tech.</p>
