Stadia, Google’s game streaming service, which launched last year, will now work on several more smartphones starting tomorrow, February 20. The newly supported devices include Samsung’s new Galaxy S20 series, the ROG Phone, and the Razer Phone.

Starting February 20, you can play Stadia with even more phones. ASUS ROG Phone I & II, Razer Phone 1 & 2, and a variety of Samsung phones, including the Samsung S20 line, are all supported.

When Stadia launched last year, support was limited to just the Pixel phones save for the first-gen Pixel. Now, Google is adding more than ten new smartphones with most of them being Samsung devices. Below is the list of the new Stadia-compatible smartphones:

Other than smartphones, Stadia also works on laptops, desktops, and TVs connected to Chromecast Ultra. Google says Stadia will work on tablets but up until now, no tablet is supported. Not even the Galaxy Tab S6.

Last month, the Stadia Team announced that more features will be coming to Stadia this quarter but there was no mention of tablet support. Nevertheless, we hope that happens soon.

The Razer phone development is paused until networks and software catch up, reveals Razer Phone’s CEO, Min-Liang in an interview with Richard Lai of Engadget. Following the layoff in its mobile division, a report revealed that Razer could stop developing smartphones. However, today Razer’s CEO verified the claim while talking about the company’s software and network ambitions.

While bidding farewell to Razer Phones, at least for some years Tan stated that the devices “have done phenomenally well,” and the lineup “has delivered whatever we wanted it to deliver.”

He noted that the awkward phase of 5G transition has left customers in-between, “If I buy a phone this year as a gamer, I want to buy a 5G phone, but if I buy a 5G phone, there’s no network to use it on.”

Razer is now shifting its focus towards gaming software to improve the overall experience. The company is already working with Tencent, the maker of PUBG, Fortnite, and Valor, to optimize and enhance the gaming experience across software, hardware, and services. Tan explained they are also working to remove specific I/O “hacks” which allows gamers to get a hold over players using different input methods.

Razer is working with game developers to end any unauthorized way to boost performance during gameplay. He terms these “hacks” as giving an unfair advantage over other players and would end the competitive environment among gamers.

Mobile games should offer 120Hz frame rates to fully cap on the faster display hardware present in the gaming phones. Tan also wants standardization in the gaming industry to help fully utilize every resource available on the phone.

Although, Tan states that the company still has a large engineering team and the capability to build a smartphone, arising speculations about Razer Phone 3 launch later in the future. Razer will surely benefit by helping revolutionize the gaming industry.

Razer has sent out invites for a launch event on October 10, where the company is expected to launch its next-generation gaming smartphone — Razer Phone 2. We earlier speculated October 10 as the launch date based on the phone’s renders but the company has now confirmed this by sending out press invites.

The upcoming Razer Phone 2 is the successor of the Razer Phone, a smartphone made specifically for the purpose of gaming, launched in November last year.

Recently, the phone had surfaced online on AnTuTu, revealing its specifications. The listing confirmed that the phone will come with a 5.7-inch QHD Sharp IGZO display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and support for Qualcomm Q-Sync. The device will be powered by Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor coupled with 8GB RAM and a whopping 512GB of internal storage.

The phone is expected to be running on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. We are also expecting improvements in terms of camera performance and battery. Earlier, there were reports claiming that the Razer Phone 2 will be sporting Chrome LED effects that will light up the device when it receives notifications.

The leaked render of the upcoming Razer Phone 2 suggests that it is equipped with a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the 19:9 aspect ratio as is the current trend. The leak only shows the front side of the Razer Phone 2, thus there’s no confirmation on whether the handset will sport a different rear design than the original device.

Through a recent earnings report, Razer had confirmed that it is working on a successor phone for the Razer Phone that was unveiled in November last year. The Razer Phone 2 has been recently spotted on various benchmarking platforms such as Geekbench and AnTuTu through which its key specs have been revealed. Today, Android Headlines has shared a render of the upcoming Razer Phone 2. The publication has claimed that it has acquired the render from a reliable source.

In the below image, the Razer Phone 2 is placed on the right whereas the original Razer Phone can be seen on the left. The image reveals that the front design of Razer Phone 2 resembles a lot with the original Razer Phone. A close observation reveals that the Razer Phone 2 features slightly thicker side bezels. Also, there the alignment of the selfie camera is also a bit different on the Razer Phone 2.

The Razer Phone 2 render suggests that it is equipped with a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio like the predecessor model. Since the new leak reveals only the front appearance of the Razer Phone 2, there is no confirmation on whether the handset will be sporting a different rear design than the original device. Earlier in this week, popular tipster Roland Quandt had claimed that the Razer Phone 2 will be sporting Chrome LED effects that will light up when the device receives notifications.

The Geekbench and AnTuTu benchmarks of Razer Phone 2 have revealed that is equipped with Snapdragon 845. The SoC will be coupled with 8 GB of RAM. The device will come loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo OS. According to the AnTuTu listing of Razer Phone 2, its screen carries support for Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels which indicates that it may feature a 5.7-inch IGZO IPS screen that has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The handset is also expected to arrive with an internal storage of 512 GB.

The Razer Phone 2 may feature a 4,000mAh battery or slightly larger battery. The dual 12-megapixel rear cameras of the original phone were criticized because of it delivered mediocre photography experience. The company had to release multiple updates after the launch of the smartphone to improve its camera performance. Hence, it is very likely that the Razer Phone 2 will be equipped with an enhanced dual camera setup.

The newest Qualcomm flagship that is currently available in the market is the Snapdragon 845. Some rumors are claiming that the Razer Phone 2 may feature the Snapdragon 855 that is expected to get announced in December. However, it may so happen that Razer may announce the Razer Phone 2 with Snapdragon 845 in November just as the predecessor smartphone was launched in the same month in 2017.

Razer, the popular gaming peripherals and smartphone manufacturer, has announced that it has an event on May 22. The event will hold in Beijing, China.

The poster doesn’t reveal much about what product will be launched but there are rumors it is the Razer Phone. Don’t be surprised. The Razer Phone may have been released since November 2017 but it didn’t make it to mainland China, although a special Chinese New Year version was sold in Hong Kong.

It appears the recent popularity of gaming smartphones in China has spurred Razer to want to penetrate the market. Though, it remains to be seen if it will succeed.

The Razer Phone will have to go against phones like the Black Shark Gaming Phone and the Nubia Red  Devil. ASUS may also join the fight with its rumored ROG (Republic of Gamers) gaming smartphone.

While it definitely isn’t as powerful as the Black Shark which has the newer Snapdragon 845 SoC powering it and also sells for less at ¥3499 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB version, the Razer Phone has a few strengths of its own.

A while ago, Razer announced that it has started rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo update to those users who have purchased its first gaming smartphone, Razer Phone.

The smartphone comes with Android Nougat operating system out-of-the-box. However, the company had said that the device will directly get the latest Android 8.1 Oreo update.

Keeping its promise, Razer started rolling out Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Razer Phone about two weeks ago. Since the update seems to be rolling out in phases, it has not yet reached every region.

However, things are not going as planned for the company in the UK. Three, one of the carriers in the UK, has announced that they have stopped the rollout of Android Oreo for Razer Phone due to some issues. Three says that the company is working closely with Razer “to get a reliable 8.1 software update soon and hopefully a release can be pushed out in the near future.”

At this point, it is not known if the rollout of this new Android version update has been stopped in other regions also. However, the users in the United States have already received the Android Oreo update on their Razer Phone.

According to the reports, owners of the Razer Phone, who have already updated to Android 8.1 Oreo are complaining of issues with the SIM card. It seems that the issue is widespread as users all over the world claim they have cellular data problems regardless of the carrier. However, the company has not given any official statement regarding this issue. We expect the company to fix this issue soon with a new software update.

The Razer Phone comes with a 5.7-inch QHD IGZO display with 120Hz refresh rate. Razer calls it an Ultramotion Display and likens it to NVIDIA’s G-SYNC. The upcoming gaming smartphone from Nubia’s Red Magic is expected to come equipped with features like air cooling, carbon nano-material, and a three-dimensional wind tunnel section structure. Rumors suggest that the smartphone could be powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 845 along with 8GB RAM.

The device is also expected to feature 18:9 aspect ratio display with 120Hz refresh rate — similar to the Razer Phone that was launched last year. Nubia had showcased the prototype of this gaming smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 earlier this year in February.

Gaming PC and peripherals manufacturer, Razer, released its first smartphone, the Razer Phone last November. It ran Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with a promise to Oreo in Q1 2018. Sadly, Razer didn’t keep its promise.

With the second quarter beginning tomorrow, Razer announced via Twitter on Thursday that they will be updating the phone straight to Android 8.1 Oreo instead of 8.0. This may sound familiar and that is because this is the same decision Essential, another manufacturer that launched its first phone last year, took for the Essential PH-1.

Razer has also said that the update should arrive between mid to late April, 2018. If you can’t wait that long, you can download the developer review and try out the new features Android 8.1 brings.

Nubia is present at MWC 2018 and the company has used the big event to announce its first gaming smartphone concept. The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise, as the company had already teased its upcoming phone a few days before MWC.

After the decent success of the Razer Phone, smartphone companies seem to be eager to tap into the growing mobile gaming market. Despite the high-end hardware packed inside the top flagships of recent years, it’s still not optimised for a smooth gaming experience. Unlike the Razer Phone, Nubia’s Gaming smartphone is still a concept. But the company’s GM, Ni Fei has confirmed that the phone will be launching in China sometime in the coming months. So, it shouldn’t be long until you see the phone hit the Chinese market

Nubia has always been known for its beautifully designed smartphones and this year, the company is tapping into its strongest department to attract customers. The Nubia gaming smartphone concept is said to feature some very high-end stuff like carbon nano-material for its body and air cooled design to keep the temperature low even during heavy game play. The company seems to be using an innovative cooling technology for this phone, but exact details are not available at the moment. We expect a lot of other high-end features on the phone, but at this moment, hardware details are scarce. Considering its placement as a premium gaming phone, expect nothing less than SD845 and 8GB RAM on the device. There could be gaming centric features as well like 120Hz screen refresh rate among other things but for that, we’ll have to wait for more details.

Razer has decided to celebrate the Spring Festival for the Chinese New Year by releasing a Gold limited edition of its Razer Phone. The new variant will be available in a limited stock and it distinguishes from the standard version with the presence of a gold logo. The box is also different: it is a special red box which contains gold stickers with the logo of the company.

If we exclude the gold logo, the rest of the design is exactly the same as the version already in the market. Razer Phone Gold Edition for 2018 was launched in the International Razer Store and it is also available to purchase through three retail stores in Hong Kong. It is possible to buy it at a price tag of $699.99. The rest of the specs remains the same just like the design.

“King of Glory” published by Tencent Games is a highly popular mobile game in China. After a recent gaming event in Shenzhen, Nubia CEO Ni Fei confirmed that the company is planning to build a gaming phone.

Ni Fei did not reveal any information on the upcoming gaming phone from the company. It is speculated that the forthcoming Nubia Z18 flagship would be built to handle hardcore games. The Z18 is rumored to arrive with a borderless full screen design and it is likely to feature Snapdragon 845 chipset. Since the Nubia Z17 and Nubia Z17S are packed with 8 GB of RAM, there is a high possibility that Nubia Z18 may also feature 8 GB of RAM. These specs suggest that the Nubia Z18 will be capable at handling high-end gaming.

The Weibo post through which Ni Fei confirmed that the company is working on a gaming phone contains some images. One of the images show a mysterious smartphone with the “King of Glory” game running on it. There is no confirmation on whether the unidentified phone is the Nubia Z18 or the Nubia Z17S phone that was launched in October last year. The handset features very narrow side bezels which appears quite similar to the Nubia Z17S.

In 2017, Razer entered the world of smartphone business by launching the gaming-friendly Razer Phone that is packed with a 120 Hz display and a massive battery. A French publication has revealed that Razer is working n a second-generation smartphone that will probably arrive in the market with Razer Phone 2 moniker in September this year.

During the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018, Razer had demonstrated Project Linda. It is a laptop dock that features a 13.3-inch display, battery of 53.6 Wh, 200 GB of internal storage and some connectivity features like USB-A, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack.

Users of Project Linda can place the Razer Phone in a slot where the touchpad is normally present. This way the Razer Phone when placed in the laptop dock can function as a touch pad. Its processor and RAM will be driving force for the laptop dock. Moreover, it can also function as a secondary display as shown in the image in this post.

It took around two-three month to build Project Linda before the CES 2018 and the company was able to design it in a short span of one month. The general design of the laptop dock has been borrowed from Razer Blade Stealth notebook. As far as software is concerned, Razer had teamed up with Sentio, a company that specializes in turning Android smartphones into laptops.

It is speculated that the Razer Phone 2 may get unveiled in September this year through the IFA 2018 tech trade show. As of this writing, there is no information available on the specifications of the upcoming Razer Phone 2 smartphone. The company is expected to launch the Project Linda laptop dock alongside the smartphone. An internal source has revealed that the company would be taking a call in the next days to decide on the launch of Project Linda. Recently, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan had hinted to Marques Brownlee on Twitter that the company may launch Project Linda.

The Razer Phone is one of the top phones of 2017 even with its release in the final quarter of the year. At CES 2018, Razer has showcased a familiar technology that transforms your Razer Phone into a full laptop.

Called Project Linda, the technology is actually a laptop shell that becomes a full laptop once you dock your Razer Phone into the provided slot.

We have seen multiple versions of this technology in the last couple of years. There is the more recent Mirabook by Miraxess demoed last year, but still hasn’t gone on sale. There is also the much older Motorola DROID BIONIC Lapdock and Atrix Lapdock.

What these have in common is that they are laptop shells that allow you to connect your android phone for a PC like experience. This is the same road Razer’s Project Linda is following, it only just has better specs.

Project Linda Specs and Function

The device has a 13-inch QHD touch display with a similar design to the Razer Blade Stealth. It has Razer’s Chroma keyboard so you get the full customizable backlight experience. There are a few changes to the keyboard like the addition of Android navigation buttons and a Google Assistant key.

Where the trackpad should be is a large space for the Razer Phone to sit. Once it is docked, a USB-C connector plugs into the phone. Your apps are then displayed on the screen. You can decide to use the phone as a touchpad or as a second screen.

Although the device does use the phone’s processor and RAM, it has 200GB of storage for files and games. It also charges the Razer Phone when docked as it has a 53.6Wh battery. Sadly, the device doesn’t have its own speakers but makes use of that of the Razer Phone which is actually one of the best in the market.

The rest of the specs include a 720p webcam, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-A port, and a USB-C port.

Project Linda Price and Release Date

Project Linda is a prototype and there is no mention it getting released for sale anytiime soon.

RPG/MMORPG and Puzzle/Strategy are the richest lists with Final Fantasy XV: Personal Edition, Space Rangers: Legacy, Vendetta Online, Runescape, Lineage 2: Revolution, Evoland, Middle Earth: Shadow of War in the first list, and Star Vikings, Puzzle Quest 2, Talos Principle, Mini Metro, Hitman Go, Lara Croft Go, Deus Ex Go in the second one. Arcade games for in the Razer Phone list include Pac-Man, Pac-Man Pop!, RC Soccer, Super Samurai Rampage, Chicken Jump and Zen Pinball.

There are two MOBAs: Arena of Valor and Vainglory, and three FPS games: Modern Combat 5, Shadowgun Legends and Hitman Sniper. In the RTS category there are Titanfall Assault, Warhammer 40K: Freeblade, Warfair, World of Thanks: Blitz and Wolrd of Warships, while in the Action-Adventure category we can see KillAllZombies, Meridian, Bug Butcher, Caterzillar and Dash Galactic. Other 120Hz-optimized games for Razer Phones are Minecraft, Sandbox 3D, OK Golf, Dub Dash, Pokemon Go, Chameleon Run and Armajet. The list is full of important titles and they will surely run smoothly, thanks to the Snapdragon 835 SoC and the 8 GB of RAM present on the Razer Phone.

The latest smartphone to go through his durability test and teardown treatment is the newly launched Razer phone. The teardown video details the process for opening up the smartphone considering that there are absolutely no visible screws on the phone. The screws, a combination of Philips and T5 screws, are hidden under the plastic grill which covers the front-facing stereo speakers both at the top and bottom end. The phone is held in place using clasps and friction rather than with adhesive and so can easily be opened using a pry tool after all the screws have been removed.

Opening up the phone reveals the presence of a massive heat pipe found directly under the display consisting of quite a decent amount of copper, covered with a second copper layer. Thermal paste is also used to improve the heat conduction of the copper pipe with the chipset. This isn’t the first time we’re seeing heat pipe inside a smartphone but that of the Razer model is considerably larger than the ones on other smartphone and would invariably result in better heat dissipation. The ribbon cables connecting the battery and display to the motherboard were also observed to be detachable. This sure makes for an easy disassembly if peradventure the phone is to be repaired or screen changed as a result of damage.

 The Razer phone comes with two speakers and from the inside, we can see that the speaker cones are made from rubber. this will prevent the sound quality from getting distorted even if moisture somehow finds its way inside the speaker housing. Both speakers are of almost equal sizes and should output similar sound quality. The charging port is located at the bottom of the smartphone, as well as the vibrator. The Razer phone is currently the buzz of the smartphone world. Since its release early this month, it has gotten mainly positive reviews which is impressive considering this is Razer’s first smartphone.

The Razer Phone is already on sale in the US, Canada, and the UK. However, Razer fans in Asia will be receiving it a little later. The smartphone just launched in Singapore – the home country of its CEO and co-founder Min-Liang Tan.

An official bulletin released by the manufacturer says pre-orders begin today and run till November 26. Sales will then commence on December 1. Pre-ordered units should probably ship before then.

The Razer Phone will sell for SGD 1,068 (~$793) in the Asian country via Singtel but will sell for less if you buy it with a plan. That price gets you a 5.7” QHD IGZO display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and a Snapdragon 835 processor. You also get 64GB of storage, dual 12MP rear cameras, an 8MP front-facing camera and a 4,000mAh battery.

Razer has not announced when its phone will be available in other Asian markets.

Early this year, Razer acquired Nextbit, makers of the cloud phone – the Nextbit Robin. The acquisition spurred rumors that Razer was going to release its own smartphone. Tonight, at an event in London the gaming manufacturer unveiled its first smartphone – the Razer Phone.

The design of the Razer Phone reminds you of a Sony Xperia phone with its large bezels; and a black Nextbit Robin with the button and camera placements. Its body is built of anodized aluminum and comes in thick at 8mm. It weighs 197g and like some Xperia phones, can stand on its own in portrait or landscape mode.

Razer Phone Specs

The highlight of the Razer Phone is its display. Supplied by SHARP, the 5.7” QHD IGZO screen is the first globally available smartphone with a 120Hz refresh rate. Razer calls it an Ultramotion Display and likens it to NVIDIA’s G-SYNC. No lags, no tearing, and no buffering, all for a smooth gaming experience. Surprisingly, the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

Like most Android flagships this year, the Razer phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835. It comes with 8GB of RAM as standard and 64GB of expandable storage.

The Razer phone also joins the bandwagon by coming with dual rear cameras. One is a 12MP F/1.75 wide angle lens and the other is a 12MP F/2.6 telephoto lens with 2X zoom. Razer says the camera has features like portrait mode and seamless zoom. The front camera is an 8MP F/2.2 sensor.

For a phone targeted at gamers, it is necessary it packs a sufficiently large battery. Razer doesn’t disappoint and includes a 4,000mAh battery. It also comes with support for Quick Charge 4.0+, making it the first phone to ship with the new fast-charging technology with a supported charger included. Quick Charge 4.0+ means you can go from 0 to 85% in just 1 hour.

A great gaming experience is incomplete without great audio. For the Razer Phone, there are dual front-facing speakers. The speakers occupy the whole length where you would usually find the bezels. The speakers have dedicated amplifiers, Dolby Atmos, and are certified by THX, another of Razer’s acquisitions.

The phone doesn’t have an audio jack, so you either have to use Bluetooth headphones (Bluetooth 4.2 with AptX) or USB-C earphones. However, it comes with a 3.5mm to USB-C audio connector with a 24-bit DAC. There is a fingerprint scanner embedded in its power button and a USB-C port at the bottom. It also has NFC.

The Razer Phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with a custom Razer version of the popular launcher, Nova Launcher Prime. Razer says the phone will receive an update to Oreo in Q1 2018.

The phone has a library of specially made games that take advantage of its Ultramotion Display. Some of the games announced during the launch include Tekken, Final Fantasy XV, and Arena of Valor. A brand new game called Ultra Hunt was also demoed at the launch.

Price and Availability

The Razer phone will sell for $699. Pre-orders begin today and it will start shipping 17th of November. It will be exclusive to Microsoft Stores in the US and Canada, and Three Network in Europe.

There is also a special edition of the Razer Phone that has a green Razer logo instead of silver like the standard variant. There are only about 1000 units available and they will be sold in Razer stores, select Microsoft stores in San Francisco, and Three stores in Europe.

Earlier in this month, Razer had confirmed that it would be holding a launch event on Nov. 1. The teaser image present on the launch invitation suggested that the company would be announcing a gaming-centric phone. The unannounced Razer Phone has been found listed on 3G UK website along with its key features. The listing is no longer available on the carrier site, but the details of the phone have been shared on Reddit.

The listing revealed that the Razer Phone would be coming with a 5.72-inch IGZO display with 120 Hz refresh rate. The display will carry support for wide color gamut (WCG), but the listing did not reveal the exact resolution of the phone. It is expected to deliver stellar gaming experience as it is equipped with dual front-facing speakers and amplifies certified by THX coupled with features Dolby ATMOS sound.

The listing did not carry any information on the chipset that will be powering the phone. However, it stated that it features 8 GB of RAM which again indicates that the phone is designed for hard-core gaming. Also, it features a massive battery of 4,000mAh capacity that is accompanied by Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology.

For photography, it is fitted a dual camera system on its back panel. It includes a f/1.75 aperture 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor and f/2.6 aperture 13-megapixel sensor for zoom. In the U.K., the Razer Phone will be supporting 4G Super Voice. According to the carrier, this feature allows its subscribers to make phone calls and send text messages even in poor coverage areas. The 64 GB Razer Phone would be priced at £594.99 (~$786) in the U.K.

However, the company is silent on the specifications and features of its smartphone. A smartphone labelled as “Razer Phone” has appeared on GFXBench benchmarking site. The listing reveals that the upcoming smartphone Razer will arrive with topnotch specifications.

According to GFXBench listing, the Razer Phone features a 5.7-inch display. It appears that it won’t be supporting 18:9 aspect ratio that is available on recent flagships like Samsung Galaxy Note 8 or LG V30. The screen of the Razer Phone offers a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels which means it carries support for the usual 16:9 aspect ratio.

It appears that the Snapdragon 835 chipset will be present under the hood of the Razer Phone. It will be coupled with 8 GB of RAM. There are not many 8 GB RAM smartphones in the market. The ASUS ZenFone AR is the first 8 GB RAM smartphone that is powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC. The ZTE Nubia Z17 that arrived earlier in this year is the first Snapdragon 835 driven phone with 8 GB RAM. However, the Nubia Z17 is not available outside of China. OnePlus 5 also features Snapdragon 835 and 8 GB of RAM.

The Razer Phone is running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. However, the smartphone might not feature a stock version of Android. Razer is likely to add its own skin to the Android OS. An 8-megapixel selfie snapper is available on the front.

In January this year, Razer had acquired Nexbit that manufactured the cloud-centric Robin smartphone. Hence, the team members of Nextbit could be involved in the making of Razer Phone. Reports that had surfaced earlier in this year has revealed that the upcoming smartphone from Razer will be targeted towards hardcore gamers.
