The Motorola Razr 2019 is no new name in the industry as the foldable device was launched by Motorola as a rebirth of the classic Motorola Razr that held sway several years back. While the device made its debut in November 2019, Motorola hinted that the phone will be launched in India on March 16 at 12.30 pm. More details have now emerged that the Razr 2019 will be launched on Flipkart on that day.

The new Razr 2019 still retained the flip design but lack a physical keyboard. Instead, what we got is a foldable screen in the most simplistic of form. No surprise the Motorola Razr 2019 has been a popular model since it was launched. The design may have even inspired the Samsung Z flip that was launched last month. As per the specifications, the Motorola Razr 2019 features an internal P-OLED foldable display with a resolution of 876 x 2142 pixels. The display also uses an aspect ratio of 21:9. The outer screen houses a G-OLED screen of 2.7 inches with a resolution of 600 x 800 pixels.

The Razr 2019 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 mobile platform paired with 6 GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage. For photography, you get a 5MP selfie camera at the front while at the rear, there is a 16MP with f/1.7 aperture along with dual-LED flash. The phone packs a 2,510mAh battery and supports 15W TurboPower fast charging through USB-C.

Motorola is yet to reveal the price of the Razr 2019 in India but in the international markets, the Razr is selling for $1,499.

Motorola is expected to soon introduce the RAZR 2019 clamshell phone with foldable screen in the next few months. The deign of the phone has been already through the images that have surfaced through its patent filings. Popular designer Waqar Khan has created realistic renders of the Moto RAZR 2019 foldable phone based on its patent images and rumors surrounding it.

The concept video begins by showing the black variant of the Moto RAZR 2019 foldable phone. The rear view of the phone reveals that the upper and lower halves of the phone are attached to each other by means of a hinge. When the device is folded, it treats users with a small-sized display on the front. A camera is placed below the display which serves as a front-facing shooter when the RAZR 2019 is closed and it can be used as a rear-facing snapper when the device is opened.

The lower half of the device has a Motorola batwing logo which is said to be equipped with a fingerprint reader.  Once the device is opened, the marvelous elongated screen of the Moto RAZR 2019 phone can be seen. Above the tall aspect ratio display, there is a notch that features an earpiece and some sensors. Unlike the yesteryear RAZR series phones that sport very slim design, the RAZR 2019 concept model has a slightly thicker appeal when closed. Apart from Black, the renders show the Moto RAZR 2019 concept model in Silver, Blue and Red colors.

A recent report on The Wall Street Journal had revealed that the Moto RAZR 2019 will be hitting the U.S. markets with a price tag of $1,500. It had also revealed that the Verizon Wireless will be exclusively selling the RAZR 2019 phone in the country. Initially, the company may produce 200,000 units of its foldable smartphone.

Rumors have it that Motorola will launch a foldable phone. The company is reportedly planning bring back the Moto RAZR flip phone from yesteryear as a foldable device. Patent documents containing the images of the alleged Motorola RAZR 2019 were spotted in the previous week. The images had revealed the front and rear design of the device. Yanko Design has shared concept renders of the RAZR 2019 foldable phone. The design has been created on the basis of the patent images of the phone.

The 3D visualizations of the Motorola RAZR 2019 show that the foldable phone will like a squarish device when folded. Opening the device reveals a longer display that is assumed to be 19:8 aspect ratio runs from the top to the bottom. The RAZR series of flip phones from the company always featured a notch. Hence, the RAZR 2019 also sports a notch. Since it features a foldable display, the hinge present at the center is not visible when the device is opened.

The upper half on the rear side has a small display and a single-lens camera that is accompanied by an LED flash. When the device is closed, the small screen will allow users to see notifications.  It is fitted with a fingerprint scanner on the lower half of the device. The volume buttons and power key are not shown on the 3D renders of the device because they were not present on the patent images. Motorola may include them on the final product.

The RAZR flip phones have always sported thin appeal. Hence, the RAZR 2019 is also expected to have a thin profile. At present, there is no information available on the specifications of the RAZR 2019. According to a Wall Street Journal report from last month, the handset will be hitting the U.S. markets with a price tag of around $1,500. The Lenovo-owned firm will reportedly tie up with Verizon to sell the device exclusively in the U.S. It is speculated that the company will be producing only 200,000 units of the RAZR 2019. There is no announcement on the official launch date of the device. It is speculated that its launch may not be far away.
