The Realme GT 3 launch is just around the corner for the global market. But prior to its official announcement, there have already been a number of teasers regarding this phone. Now, the latest one talks about its most highlighting aspect, the 240W fast charging tech.

As per a new tweet from Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth, “Our 240W fast charging technology is about to disrupt the industry. Get ready to experience.” He also shared an image in this tweet that compared the device to the fastest charging rates offered to by other brands. This graph was compiled by a Counterpoint Research report that had stated that the Chinese smartphone maker is keeping to its motto of “Dare to leap” with the GT 3 model.

The brand had recently shared a video teaser in which it showcased the device being fast charged. In the video, we can see the 4,600mAh battery pack on this device get charged from 1 to 20 percent in just 80 seconds, 50 percent in just 4 minutes, and a full charge in 9 minutes and 30 seconds. This is quite impressive to say the least. The Counterpoint Research also found that Realme is the only brand that offers 65W fast charging rate on smartphone under the 150 US Dollar price mark.

The Realme GT Neo 5 is all set to launch with an impressive 240W fast charging support. And now, a senior executive has revealed that this upcoming smartphone is capable of some impressive feats thanks to its charging prowess. So let’s have a look.

According to Xu Qi Chase, the GT Neo 5’s powerful charging capabilities enables it to let you watch an hour long episode of the “Hurricane” TV series (or any other series) after charging the device for just 30 seconds. This is quite impressive to say the least and as of right now, the Realme GT Neo 5 is the fastest charging commercially smartphone that will be commercially available to consumers, with its 240W fast charging.

On the other hand, users can even charge the GT Neo 5 to100 percent in less than 10 minutes. To achieve 240W fast charging, the Chinese smartphone maker launched the first ever custom made 12A charging capable that has reached the highest specification of 21AWG×4 in the industry. This wire is paired with a custom 240W dual GaN mini charger that also has the highest power density of 2.34W/CC in the industry.

The new charger has an increase in volume of 5 percent, although, its power has increase by 60 percent when compared to the 150W fast charging offered on the previous generation. Realme GT Neo 5 leak reveals key specs and two variants with 150W & 240W charging

We already know that Realme is working on a new GT Neo 5 smartphone model. But a new leak has revealed the key specification of the device ahead of its official launch and it appears that the phone will be available in two options. So let’s have a look.

The Chinese smartphone maker’s GT Neo 5 has already been spotted on leaks and official certifications. Now, a new leak from a tipster on Weibo (Panda is Bald) shared key details as well as the two GT Neo 5 variants. Looking at the specs list, the GT Neo 5 will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC on both variants. Furthermore, the two models will also sport a tall 6.74 inch OLED display that has a 20.1:9 aspect ratio 2772 x 1240p resolution and 144Hz refresh rate.

Both phones also weigh 199 grams and feature a triple camera setup on the rear. This consists of a 50 megapixel Sony IMX890 primary sensor paired with an 8 megapixel and a 2 megapixel shooter. So, the primary difference between these two models is only the charging rates and battery pack. One model will feature a large 5,000mAh battery that supports 150W fast charging, while the second variant will offer a faster 240W fast charging support but with a smaller 4,600mAh battery.

Realme 240W Charging Technology Officially Unveiled, Expected on the GT Neo5 in February

Barely three days after live photos of Realme‘s 240W charging brick was spotted online, the company has finally officially unveiled the 240W fast charging. The charging solution is claimed to be the fastest charging solution for a smartphone that has entered mass production. Also, the 240W rating is the highest charging power that the USB-C interface supports.

The new charging solution uses a three-way 100W charge pump parallel design with an output rating of 10V 24A and 20V 12A input. The company also hinted that the charger has a charging conversion efficiency of up to 98.5%.

The charging solution utilizes a 240W dual Gallium Nitride (GaN) adapter which gives it a peak power density of 2.34W / CC, the highest in the industry. Despite the increased rating, the charger is only 5% larger in size than the previous-gen 150W charging adapter. The adapter uses a single USB-C output port.

The adapter will ship with its own customized 12A charging cable manufactured using 21AWG thickened copper wires which is also the highest rating in the industry. This new standard bumps up the carrying capacity of the cable by 20% compared to the previous generation.

The Realme 240W SuperVOOC protocol is backward compatible with the 65W PD, QC, and VOOC protocols. The Realme GT Neo5, the first device to use the 240W fast charging technology is confirmed to be launched in February. The smartphone has 13 built-in temperature sensors, supports PS3 fireproof design and real-time safety monitoring system, and has the industry’s largest 6580mm2 graphene phase heat dissipation material.

Furthermore, the effective health of the battery is over 80% after 1,600, 0-100% full charging cycles with Realme 240W fast charging, according to the company. After 21 days of charging and discharging, there is no safety failure with the phone at 85°C high temperature and 85% high humidity, according to Realme.
