The Realme C-series has over 10.2 million users globally. The Realme C2s was the latest model launched in this series in Thailand but the C3 series will be the real successor to last year’s C2 lineup. We expect two models in the series, the Realme C3 and the C3s.

The C3s model has already passed several certification websites like Thailand’s NBTC and US’ FCC under the model number RMX2020. The two models will likely differ only in terms of its RAM and storage.

FCC’s certification featured a schematic of the device giving us a glimpse of its back design. The Realme C3(s) will come with a vertically arranged rear camera setup, placed on the top left corner. There will be a fingerprint center at the back as well. Notably, the Realme C3 model had already passed Singapore’s certification agency back in December, alongside the Realme 5i which was recently announced in India.

There are rumors that the Realme C3 series will be officially announced on February 6, but we’ll have to wait for an official confirmation of the same.

Design

A compact and lightweight device. This is one of the main advantages of the Nokia 4.2 if we compare it with its rivals in this comparison, as well as most of the budget devices out there. It fits great in a pocket and it is easier to use with one hand than most of the actual phones. Still, some may prefer the Vivo Y15 due to its reflective back and its larger screen.

Display

In each case, you get entry-level panels with similar specifications and the IPS technology. But they are not disappointing displays. Nokia 4.2 has a very small panel, that is great if you need a compact phone and you like one-handed use. The smaller diagonal even allows a higher level of detail due to the higher pixel density. However, I would go for the Vivo Y15 simply because it has a bigger 6.35 panel. My recommendation is not to choose one of these handsets just by looking at the display quality, as there are only marginal differences.

Specs & Software

Three different chipsets for three different levels of performances. Realme 3 wins, there is no doubt. It is faster and smoother thanks to its MediaTek Helio P60, and it even comes in a variant with the even more powerful Helio P70. There is not so much difference between the Helio P22 found on the Vivo Y15 and the Snapdragon 439 found on the Nokia 4.2. But I personally prefer the Nokia 4.2 because it is part of the Android One program, so it provides a smoother and bloatware-free experience as well as faster and more constant updates. Note that Nokia 4.2 is only available with up to 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, while Vivo Y15 has up to 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, so it actually provides better performances in multi-tasking and more space.

Camera

Vivo Y15 has the most complete and versatile camera department, despite it does not necessarily click more detailed photos. But overall, I would go for the Vivo Y15 due to the presence of an ultrawide sensor and an awesome 16 MP front camera for selfies. Realme 3 Pro comes right after as it comes with a better main sensor for the rear camera, but the rest of the setup does not convince me. Nokia 4.2 is the less impressive one.

Battery

Vivo Y15 is equipped with a mammoth 5000 mAh battery which delivers up to three days of battery life even with pretty intensive use. That is simply amazing and one of the best battery phones out there. The second place goes to the Realme 3 with its still awesome 4230 mAh battery.

Price

Nokia 4.2 debuted with a €150/€135 price tag, Vivo Y15 costs €180/$160 and Realme 3 starts from €115/$100. Overall, Realme 3 is my favorite one due to its better performance, big battery, and decent cameras.

Today, the company has confirmed through its official forums site that it will be releasing the Android 9 Pie update in June for its smartphones.

In April, the company will be releasing the April 2019 Android security patch for three smartphone such as Realme 1, Realme U1 and Realme 3. In May, the May 2019 Android security patch will be rolled out for phones like Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro and Realme C1.

In June, Realme will be releasing the ColorOS 6 based Android 9 Pie OS for multiple smartphones for Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme C1, Realme 2 Pro and Realme U1. It hasn’t exactly mentioned the order of releasing Pie update for these phones. Also, there is no exact timeline mentioned, but the company promises to release the updates as stated in the forums thread.

Since it is a staged rollout, the aforementioned Realme phones are unlikely to receive the update on the very first day or simultaneously. The company will be releasing the update when it is completely sure they are free from major bugs. It will be posting respective OTA threads with the links to manually download the firmware when they are available.

Design

Are you searching for a beautiful and futuristic phone? If so, you should absolutely go either for the Xiaomi Redmi 7 or the Oppo Realme 3. They come with stunning rear sides with gradient colors and waterdrop notches which help to reduce the bezels around the display. I would personally choose the Xiaomi Redmi 7 because it even offers a hydrophobic coating, while the Realme 3 does not provide any kind of water resistance.

Display

Unfortunately, you get a below-average display in each case. These panels stop to the HD+ resolution and they do not provide a high level of detail, but they are still sufficient for everything. You may like the Oppo Realme 3 and the Xiaomi Redmi 7 more because of their smaller notches, but all of these devices offer more or less the same display quality. All of them come with an IPS LCD panel, the same pixel density, and a similar screen-to-body ratio.

Specs & Software

The hardware side may seriously make you take a decision. The Realme 3 comes with a MediaTek SoC, but even though people like MediaTek chipsets less than Snapdragon ones by Qualcomm, the Helio P70 found on the Realme 3 is much more powerful than the Snapdragon 632 that you can find on the Redmi 7 and Asus Zenfone Max M2. So, you would get definitely better performances with the Realme 3. Note that Realme 3 also comes in a more affordable version with Helio P60, and that is the one with a similar price tag to the Redmi 7. Asus Zenfone Max M2 and Redmi 7 come with the same chipset and the same memory configurations, except for the lower-end 2/16 GB variant which is only available with the Redmi 7. Oppo Realme 3 and Redmi 7 come with Android Pie out of the box and highly customized user interfaces, while Asus Zenfone Max M2 is still based on Android Oreo out of the box. However, the update to Android Pie for the Asus Zenfone Max M2 is already confirmed.

Camera

We still had no chance to test the cameras of the Redmi 7 but, judging from the specs on the paper, Asus Zenfone Max M2 is a better camera phone. It has a brighter focal aperture for the main rear sensor, 4K video recording and even a selfie camera with a front-facing LED flash. The second place should go to the Realme 3 which comes with the same bright aperture and a front camera that may be even better. Things may change after we tested the Redmi 7 that is the only phone of this trio which can record 1080p videos at 60 fps. It does not seem excellent on the paper, but the software will play an important role here.

Battery

The battery is the strongest point of all the devices from this trio. They all come with a huge battery compared with their components which have a low energy consumption. The Oppo Realme 3 has a slightly bigger battery than its rivals, but it does not mean that it will last more on a single charge as Redmi 7 and Asus Zenfone Max M2 are equipped with a very efficient Snapdragon 632 chipset, while Realme 3 comes with a more powerful Helio P60/P70. Anyways, you should get similar battery life in most of the scenarios, so we do not suggest you choose one of these handsets by basing on the battery life only. Note that Xiaomi Redmi 7 and Oppo Realme 3 come with 10W fast charging, while the Asus Zenfone Max M2 does not, so it takes a little bit more to fully charge.

Price

If you live in China or India, you will soon be able to get a unit of the Xiaomi Redmi 7 for just €92 in its base variant with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, while Realme 3 and Asus Zenfone Max M2 start from about €115 and €110 respectively, in their 3/32 GB configuration. I would go for the Realme 3 due to its higher-end chipset.

This became a trend following the success of the Pixel 3‘s revolutionary Night Sight mode. However, older phones have not been left out as manufacturers have been able to push out the feature to their older devices too. Realme has also joined the train with its Nightscape feature which debuted on the Realme 3.

According to Realme, the Nightscape mode greatly improves the quality of images taken in low-light environments using a combination of AI and multi-frame exposure.

The good news is that you don’t have to pick up the Realme 3 if you want the feature. Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has announced that Nightscape mode will be coming to older Realme phones. However, there is no timeframe yet for when it will arrive.

Realme has been pretty consistent with updates and the manufacturer has promised that all its phones will get updated to ColorOS6 and Android Pie in the first half of the year. We hope the Nightscape feature comes along with the Android Pie update but it will be nice if it arrives earlier.

Now, the latest release, Realme 3 is finally out. Let’s see what the phone has to offer in the mid-range segment.

The phone ships with a charger, USB cable, SIM ejector pin, and a soft TPU case.

Realme 3 Design

The Realme 3 has adopted a unibody design which has a pleasant feel to touch. The back is made out of plastic but comes in a premium gradient finish. I have got the gradient blue variant for review and the transition from dark blue to light blue is seamless and natural.

On the back, Realme 3 ships with dual cameras and a flashlight set up vertically on the left top corner. On the left bottom corner, there’s the realme logo. The phone also comes with the fingerprint sensor on the back of the device. For me, I prefer a rear placed fingerprint scanner as the sensor’s placement is convenient for my index finger to touch. What’s more, the Realme 3 carries support for facial unlock too.

[envira-gallery id=”239534″]

Like most smartphones, the handset’s speaker is placed at the bottom. The charging port and 3.5mm earphone jack are at the bottom as well. From left to the right lie the headphone jack, microphone, MicroUSB port, and speakers. I do like the fact that the phone ships with a 3.5mm earphone jack, as it gives me a choice to use Bluetooth earphones or a wired headset. For those who hate charging their Bluetooth headphones, a wired option is always a welcome addition

However, it is a pity that the box doesn’t come with headphones. But it is not surprising given that’s the standard these days. Unlike Vivo smartphones, OPPO places the volume buttons on the left edge side, where you also have a SIM card slot. The power button is placed on the right side.

[envira-gallery id=”239542″]

Realme 3 Display

Realme 3 comes with 6.22-inch of HD Full screen with Gorilla Glass 3, having the resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. The display isn’t as sharp or detailed as higher-end models, but it does offer good colors and viewing angles. It comes with 19:9 aspect ratio, and offers a comfortable experience viewing the screen. So, most of you won’t miss a full HD display at its price.

With the popularity of the notch rising, most smartphones have followed notched design liked the iPhone X, or went with a water drop notch. The Realme 3 adopts the water drop screen which is like the OPPO R17 Pro. Compared to the big notch, I prefer this screen better because it’s much more compact. But there’s one weakness with this type of display — there’s no notification LED light on the Realme 3.

Realme 3 Performance

Powered by the 12nm Helio P70 processor and Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, the phone comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. What’s great is that you can further expand this storage via MicroSD. The Helio P70 chipset, which performs close to Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, ensures the Realme 3 is smooth and stable. You won’t find any visible lags or issues in performance, all thanks to this chipset.

Realme 3 could be described as a middle-range smartphone and the benchmark scores reflect this. It scores around 130,500 on the AnTuTu benchmark. The benchmark scores of most SD660 smartphones are about 130K, so the Realme 3 can be considered as good as an SD660 phone. In everyday use, launching applications and running tasks work well. Everything is smooth and quick. The 4GB of RAM is enough for daily use. I often launched several applications one by one, and everything was stable. As a budget handset, the 64GB of internal storage is fine with the external storage expansion option.

[envira-gallery id=”239546″]

CAMERA

The Realme 3 is equipped with 13MP+2MP AI dual rear cameras with f/1.8 aperture and a 13MP selfie camera with f/2.0 up front. There’re plenty of camera modes on the device but I still use prefer to stick to the auto mode as usual. The main reason being, the photos in auto mode looks sharp and detailed enough. With object recognition, the camera does a pretty good job of analyzing the subject and tweaking the great color balance accordingly. If you want to change the image’s style, you can always go for a filter.

[envira-gallery id=”239475″]

What’s more, Realme 3 features two new special modes that are marketed on the phone —Chroma Boost mode and Nightscape mode. Chroma Boost is the advanced version of HDR mode that makes the image more colorful. If you think the colors of the images taken by normal mode or HDR mode are darker than they should be, you could select the Chroma Boost to take a shot. Take a look at the comparison, the third image is brighter than the other pictures on the whole. However, the image taken by Chroma Boost is not as detailed as the image taken by HDR mode. I also took the picture with Chroma Boost + HDR mode to compare, and that turned out to be the best image of the lot. As the image is not overexposed, the details come out better than other modes.

[envira-gallery id=”239454″]

The following images are shot separately at 1x, 2x and 4x zoom. Focusing on the four words in the image, as a whole, the performance is not bad, however the photo did come out a bit blurred.

[envira-gallery id=”239483″]

The following images were shot in sunny daytime. As you can see, the pictures look great and show excellent details and focus at a close range. The background blur is pretty decent too. Also, the color balance is good. If you are going to take a picture on a sunny day, you might have to adjust the brightness in the viewfinder in order to avoid overexposure. But in general, the auto mode does pretty well on most occasions.

Take a look at the samples down below.

[envira-gallery id=”239490″]

Selfies look nice too, and they are sharp and detailed. The front-facing camera is amazing, the following images are taken separately at natural mode, smoothen mode and portrait mode respectively. Compared to the first photo, dark circles and the skin blemishes were eliminated in the second photo. As the name suggests, smoothen mode really makes my face skin smooth, even the scar beside my lips is fading. The object in focus stands out quite nicely from the background, giving it more prominence.

However, among these three modes, personally, I like the smoothen mode that makes me look like I am wearing foundation to cover the blemishes on my face. The portrait mode is good but I’m not used to giving more prominence to my face when I take a selfie. In the front-facing camera department, the performance of Realme 3 is similar to Redmi Note 7 in my view.

[envira-gallery id=”239498″]

The following photo was shot indoors (daytime).

[envira-gallery id=”239506″]

The following one is shot indoors in the evening. After zooming in, you notice that the photo isn’t really sharp. But in general, on the small screen, it looks pretty decent.

[envira-gallery id=”239509″]

The following photos were taken outdoors at night. The low-light image quality is not bad but there’s definitely room for improvement. Also, the exposure is not handled very well. For example, in the image below, the signboard lights are barely visible. In fact, Honor 8X night camera samples turned out to be better than Realme 3.

[envira-gallery id=”239512″]

The new feature on the Realme 3 is the Nightscape mode. Realme was excited to point out that its the first budget phone to feature hand-held night mode. But personally, I feel it needs a bit more work. You need to wait for at least five seconds after tapping the screen for the capture to complete. Personally, I found it hard to get a good blur-free shot in this mode.

However, if you can keep your hands steady, its definitely a must-have feature. Since the overall brightness is turned up, details can be seen in low light. You do lose a bit of color, with the addition of a little bit of noise, but on most occasions, you’d be happy with the result. It definitely gives this phone an edge over its budget competitors.

I find HDR mode pretty great too as the exposure is balanced. However, the images from the Chroma Boost mode were a bit overexposed.

[envira-gallery id=”239611″]
[envira-gallery id=”239620″]

SOFTWARE

The Realme 3 is running on ColorOS 6.0 version on top of Android 9 Pie, which is different from the Realme 2 model that runs ColorOS based on Android 8.1.0 Oreo. The user interface of Realme 3 is close to the Oneplus 6T. For example, go to the application page with all apps just through swiping up the screen from the grey line with the white arrow pointing upward. There is a transparent tool which is set on the right side of the screen edge, which offers you to choose between Quick Tools and Quick Apps. It is a terrific tool for me. For example, when I’m traveling and I grab the handrail with my left hand, I can use this feature to easily select the application I want to use. Sliding the screen down brings the Notification Center and the simple setup center. The phone is definitely easy to use, even with one hand.

[envira-gallery id=”239517″]

BATTERY

The Realme 3 is equipped with a large 4230 mAh battery, and it takes around 3 hours to charge from zero to full. Actually, I think the charging time is too long, but the low power consumption and large battery capacity serves me well. Battery life on this phone is quite good — no issues for daily use. You can easily go on for 1.5-2 days of moderate usage with its huge battery. It’s definitely a plus point for people who hate carrying a power bank or charger with them.

But if you compare, the Redmi Note 7 takes only around 125 minutes to charge from zero to full. Its fast charging version with 18W takes only about 103 minutes! So, despite its huge battery, 3 hours is quite long to charge completely.

CONCLUSION

The Realme 3 is priced at Rs. 8,999 ($127.00) for 3GB+32GB and Rs. 10,999 ($155.23) for 4GB+64GB. For this price, the phone offers a lot of value!

Personally, Realme 3 has offered much more than what I was expecting. I love the design, lightweight body, great overall performance, and the cameras. I also love the fact that holding the handset in one hand is comfortable enough. The camera is also not bad, especially considering its price. Daylight photos are sharp and colorful. Also, nightscape, when used appropriately, makes a big difference in night time photography.

But I do wish that charging wasn’t this slow. But at least the huge battery won’t have me looking for my charger often! Also, I might be probably asking too much when I say I would have been happier with an FHD display.

Hopefully, these two drawbacks of Realme 3 can be improved in the next generation Realme 3 Pro, which will be released in April.

By the way, Gizmochina is giving away 1 unit of the Realme 3 as a giveaway gift to one lucky reader. You can click here to get a chance to win this amazing phone!

Unlike the previous model, this device has also a global version that comes with slightly different specifications, so it will not be limited to the Indian market. However, the initial launch will happen in India, that is why we decided to compare it with other devices launched in India that will soon hit the global market just like it. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy M20 and the new Redmi Note 7, that is also the first Xiaomi phone after the separation of Redmi from Xiaomi. These devices are very different phones, but we can not say the same about their prices, so a comparison is perfect right now in order to find out which one is worth the money asked.

Design

In order to cut costs, Oppo and Samsung opted for cheap materials for their affordable devices. We can not say exactly the same about the Redmi Note 7 as it comes with a more attractive glass back. It is not the most resistant phone out there as the endurance tests recently showed, but it is still above-average when it comes to the build quality, and it is also the most beautiful device of the trio. Despite the absence of an IP certification, Redmi Note 7 is also one of the few affordable phones equipped with water resistance, as revealed from the first teardowns.

Display

Samsung usually adopts its Super AMOLED panel for midrange and flagship series, while equips its entry-level line-ups with LCD panels. Samsung Galaxy M20 has a sufficient Full HD+ display, but Redmi Note 7 seems slightly better. And it has also a more resistant glass thanks to the Gorilla Glass 5 protection that is one of the strongest ones for smartphones glasses. Oppo Realme 3 totally loses the fight because it comes with a just HD display: its grade of detail is not enough to make it compete with its rivals from Samsung and Xiaomi. But we still appreciate its screen-to-body ratio and its narrow bezels.

Specs & Software

Realme 3 comes in two versions with different chipsets: one has Helio P60 and it will launch globally, while the other has Helio P70 and it is for the Indian market. Both are more or less at the same level as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 since it is equipped with the Snapdragon 660 chipset which is a direct rival of the Helio P60 and P70. The Helio P70 looks slightly more powerful, but the Redmi Note 7 has a configuration with 6 GB of RAM that overclasses the Realme 3 coming with up to 4 GB of RAM. Samsung Galaxy M20 loses the comparison due to its lower-end Exynos 7904 chipset that is inferior to the Snapdragon 660.

Camera

As the Redmi Note 7 boasts the new Samsung’s sensor with a huge 48 MP resolution, it wins the camera comparison. It delivers more detail as well as more light, for more detailed photos. There is definitely no challenge as this sensor is way better than the dual cameras found on the Samsung Galaxy M20 and Realme 3. The Galaxy M20 should come at the second place with sufficient photo quality, but there should be only marginal differences between the Galaxy M20 and the Realme 3. In not any of these cases we are talking about high-end camera phones, but the Redmi Note 7 definitely offers something more. It is also the only device able to record videos in 1080p with a very high frame rate up to 120 fps.

Battery

Batteries are really strong points of these smartphones: all of them feature a high, above-average battery capacity. However, the most insane is the Samsung Galaxy M20 which reaches 5000 mAh. With so huge capacity, it should have the longest-lasting battery and it delivers up to two days of battery life on a single charge. It even supports a fast charging technology, even though Redmi Note 7 is the one that charges faster than everyone thanks to Quick Charge 4 and a max power of 18W.

Price

Realme 3 starts from just €110/$125 in the Indian market, Redmi Note 7 hitten the Chinese market with a price tag of €130/$147 and Samsung Galaxy M20 costs about €200/$225. Despite its price is not the most affordable one, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 wins this comparison due to better camera performance, a better hardware department, and a higher-end design and build quality. But its opponents still offer a very high value for money, especially the Realme 3 by Oppo whose price tag makes it almost a gift for Indian customers. Which one would you pick?

The below shown poster that carries “Be Proactive” text lasts for only few seconds. The highlighting of “Pro” towards the end of the clip suggests that the company could be teasing the arrival of the Pro variant of the phone. Yesterday, Xiaomi had launched the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphones in India.
The smartphone will be powered by the Helio P70 chipset. On AnTuTu, the handset has scored 137,976 points.
The photo further shows us the AnTuTu benchmark of the device, scoring an impressive 137,976. The tipster further reveals that the phone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P70 and is running Android Pie OS out of the box.

Apart from this live image, GSMArena revealed a few camera samples from the Realme 3. These samples were compared directly with competitors like the Redmi Note 7 and Samsung Galaxy M20. There are two new features in the Realme model — Chroma Boost and Nightscape — which seem to give it an edge over its rivals, especially when it comes to dynamic range and night photography.

[envira-gallery id=”238368″]

In fact, if you compare the samples side by side, Realme’s Chroma boost feature seems to have done a fantastic job in boosting the dynamic range of the Realme 3. There’s a significant difference in the dynamic range among the three smartphone samples in question and the Realme model definitely had an edge. Even in the Nightscape mode, which is the company’s handheld night mode, the phone managed to do a fantastic job of managing the exposure and highlights with minimum noise. Once again, we could see that Realme 3 had a definite advantage.

While official specs are not yet available, it is rumored that the phone will have a 6.3-inch display with FHD+ resolution, 4GB RAM, dual 16+5MP cameras at the back, and a large 4000mAh battery. The handset was expected to go official in the first quarter of the year. Today, the company has confirmed through a tweet that will be launching the Realme 3 smartphone on March 4.

The below shown launch poster released by Realme contains a starry pattern. It appeared similar to the starry pattern that can be seen in the launch poster.

Only few details on the specs of the F11 Pro have surfaced so far. Rumors are rife that it could be powered by a new MediaTek chipset. The Helio P60 powered by the predecessor OPPO F9 Pro. Hence, the F11 Pro may feature Helio P70 or powerful MediaTek chip. The SoC could be equipped with 6 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 128 GB.

This will be the sixth phone from the brand which launched last year. A few of the phone’s specs have been confirmed by the manufacturer and now live photos have leaked online.

Yesterday, Realme CEO, Madhav Sheth shared an image of a phone with vertically arranged dual rear cameras. At the moment, there is no Realme smartphone with that camera arrangement which means the phone in the image is most likely the upcoming Realme 3.

Also, the phone is shown in a case which has the popular diamond-cut design of the Realme 1. It turns out that Realme is not only teasing its upcoming phone but also one of its accessories.

Since the Realme 3 is inside a case in the above image, what does it actually look like? These live images from The Leaker show that the device will come in starry blue and starry purple gradient colors. We are not sure if the back is covered in glass or plastic seeing as the Realme 2 Pro does look like its covered in glass but is actually plastic all over.

[envira-gallery id=”237640″]

The images also confirm the phone will have a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom. There is a USB port too but we are not sure if it is MicroUSB or Type-C. We also already know from the image above shared by the CEO that the phone will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Realme 3 will be powered by an Helio P70 processor which should be paired with at least 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. We are still in the dark about the design of the front but we won’t be surprised if it has a display with a waterdrop notch like the Realme U1.

Earlier, he had shared an image of a smartphone in a diamond-cut design with a caption that reads “Reintroducing”, which suggests that the upcoming smartphone will come with a diamond-cut design, which the company offered in the Realme 1. The same image also showcases the smartphone featuring dual camera sensors and an LED flash, positioned in the top-left corner, vertically.

The Realme 3 won’t be the company’s first smartphone to be powered by MediaTek Helio P70 SoC. Realme U1, the company’s first smartphone in its all-new U-series for selfie-centric phones, is also powered by the same chipset.

The MediaTek Helio P70 processor is built by TSMC using their 12nm FinFET technology and features Cortex-A73 and Cortex A53 cores in the same 4+4 arrangement, coupled with ARM Mali-G72 GPU. The CPU is clocked at 2.1GHz for the A73 cores and 2.0GHz for the A53 cores. The GPU is also clocked higher at 900MHz. The AI processing unit (APU) also brings a 10-30% improvement in processing efficiency compared to the Helio P60.

While the launch date of Realme 3 is not yet revealed, it will surely be launched by the end of next month. Madhav Sheth had earlier confirmed that the Realme 3 will be launched in Q1 2019. Several reports are also making rounds, suggesting that the launch could take place in early March in India.

The company has today posted an image on Twitter in which it is teasing the launch of the Realme 3 smartphone.

The image shows two retail boxes — one of Realme 1 and the other of its successor, Realme 2. The company is clearly hinting at the Realme 3 as it asks about the addition of 1 and 2. It then poses a question if it is a simple maths or something big.

The development comes just a day after a video teaser related to the promotion of the Realme 3 launch was leaked online. The video features Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth and a few other rappers singing about the Realme 3 smartphone.

Interestingly, there’s no information available about the Realme 3, including leaks, rumors, renders, which is a bit odd in this time of age. However, we should know something about the phone soon. While the launch date of Realme 3 is not yet revealed, it will surely be launched by the end of next month.

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth had earlier confirmed that the Realme 3 will be launched in Q1 2019. Several reports are also making rounds, suggesting that the launch could take place in early March in India.

The Realme 3 will be the successor of the Realme 2 smartphone, which was launched a few months back in the Indian market.
Within one year of its establishment, Realme has quickly become a household name in the Indian market thanks to its fast-selling value-for-money smartphones. It has now become a leading brand in the overcrowded budget smartphone segment in India.

Realme C3

As of this writing, there is no concrete information available on the specifications of the Realme 3 handset. The Realme 2 came with a wider notch. Hence, it is likely that the company may reduce the notch on the Realme 3. Probably, it could be equipped with a waterdrop-style notched display.

Realme A1 Rumors

As far as the Realme A1 smartphone is concerned, it is rumored to be positioned between Realme U1 and Realme 2. The following render and specifications of the alleged Realme A1 had surfaced in December. The leak had revealed that the smartphone would be equipped with 1.8 GHz octa-core processor and it will be coming in 2 GB and 3 GB RAM options. The handset may feature 32 GB of internal storage and carry support for external storage. It may draw power from a 4,200mh battery. For photography, it may feature 13-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. The alleged Realme A1 could be loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

According to the reports, after launching Realme 1 and Realme 2 as well as Realme 2 Pro, the company is now gearing up to launch Realme 3 in the Indian market. The report also adds that the phone will be launched in Q1 2019, which means that it will debut before the end of March this year.

While nothing related to the smartphone is known at this point in India, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has said that the company is working on a smartphone with the 48-megapixel camera sensor. However, it’s not confirmed if this is the Realme 3 or some other model.

Recently, the company, which started off as an online-only brand, expanded its presence to the offline market. Prior to that, it had entered into a partnership with Reliance Digital to sell its smartphones across more than 1,300 locations in 130 cities. Realme will add 20,000 outlets in 150 cities of India this year.

Citing information received from third-party sources, 91 Mobiles claims that the company may soon introduce Realme U-series that will include selfie-centric phones. The first Realme U phone is speculated to be fueled by MediaTek Helio P70 chipset.

In the previous month, MediaTek had announced the Helio P70 chipset. The new SoC is a faster version of the Helio P60 SoC. The 12nm chipset includes quad-cores of Cortex A73 that work at 2.1 GHz and four cores of Cortex A53 that clocks at 2.0 GHz. The Mali-G72 GPU of the Helio P70 clocks at 900 MHz. In terms of CPU, GPU and APU layout, the Helio P70 chipset resembles the Helio P60 SoC. However, the P70 offers better clocking speeds that promises 13-pecent better performance over P60.

At the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2018 tech expo that was held in the same month, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed that the next Realme phone will be fueled by the Helio P70 SoC.

Realme is OPPO’s weapon to rival with Xiaomi’s Redmi phones. The Redmi Y2 is a selfie-centric phone that comes with an LED flash enabled 16-megapixel front-facing camera.

There is a possibility that the mysterious Realme U smartphone may arrive with a dedicated LED flash for the selfie camera. It is speculated that the upcoming Realme U phone will be competing with the likes of Redmi Y2 and it could be priced around Rs. 15,000 in India.

While the upcoming’s phone name is not yet known, it is believed to the be the Realme 3. This will be the second smartphone from Realme to be powered by MediaTek’s chipset. After the Realme 1, the company shifted from MediaTek to Qualcomm for the processor of its Realme 2, 2 Pro, and C1.

The RMX1833 that appeared on Geekbench is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor along with 4GB RAM and is running Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. As for the performance, the device achieved a single-core score of 1,560 points and a multi-core score of 5,926 points.

It is speculated that the RMX1833 could be the successor of the Realme 2 that was launched a few months ago. However, there’s no evidence available yet to support this claim. The phone could be launched early next year given that Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth had earlier said that the company plans to launch a couple of devices before March 2019.

MediaTek has recently launched the Helio P60 successor — MediaTek Helio P70. It is built using TSMC’s 12nm FinFET technology and comes with multi-core APU operating at up to 525MHz for fast and efficient edge-AI processing. The AI engine delivers a 10 to 30 percent AI processing boost compared to the Helio P60, says the company.

Soon after the Helio P70 became official, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India had confirmed that the company will be the first to launch Helio P70-powered smartphone. He said, “The next Realme will be powered by P70 and it is coming soon.” He has also clarified that while the phone will be a game changer in its price segment, it is not the successor of the Realme 2 or 2 Pro.

Sheth has now revealed through a recent tweet that an upcoming Realme phone will carry support for VOOC fast charging.

Realme has recently confirmed that it will be the first company to use the upcoming MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. However, what is not known is that whether the Realme 3 or Realme 3 Pro or both devices will be fueled by the new MediaTek SoC. When one of the Realme fans asked whether VOOC charging will be available on upcoming phones from the company. He responded by saying “why not” which indicates that the rapid charging technology will be available on the forthcoming Realme phones.

VOOC charging is OPPO’s proprietary fast charging technology that allow OPPO phones to support 20W fast charging. With the launch of the OPPO Find X Lamborghini Edition, the Chinese manufacturer had introduced Super VOOC charging technology that supports 50W charging. Since Realme is a sub-brand of OPPO, it is very likely that Realme phones at some point will carry support for VOOC charging.

OPPO has launched many phones with VOOC charging technology in China in the recent years. However, the OPPO F9 Pro is the first ever phone in India to support VOOC charging. There is no information available on the specifications of the Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro. Realme may want to make the VOOC charging technology available on the Realme 3 Pro. The Realme 3 series is expected to feature waterdrop notch screen. Like the Realme 2 Pro, the Pro variant of Realme 3 may feature up to 8 GB of RAM.
