Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India has shared a tweet which confirms the launch of Buds Air Neo in India on 25th May. He has also revealed that the company has managed to sell over a million units of smart audio AIoT products so far.

The teaser mentions that the upcoming TWS earbuds from Realme are focused towards youth and thus, we expect them to be priced affordably. In fact, a promotional image of the same has been leaked online, which shows that Realme Buds Air Neo will be priced at ₹2,999 in India, which is about $40.

In terms of design, the upcoming true-wireless earphones from the company seems to be exactly the same as the original model. Further, the teaser confirms three color options — Red, White, and Olive Green.

EDITOR’S PICK: Realme X3 SuperZoom to launch in Thailand on May 27; will come to India next month

As per the reports, the earphones will lack USB Type-C port and wireless charging support and instead will have a microUSB port for charging them. It will come with Bluetooth 5.0 to connect with smartphones and other devices.

The earphones will continue to have a dedicated R1 chipset for better audio quality and battery efficiency. However, Buds Air Neo will lack some of the features of the original Buds Air to justify the lower pricing.

The earphones are expected to have the Game Mode which reduces latency by up to 51 percent but reduces the battery life. Coming to the battery, it is expected to offer around 17 hours of battery life with the charging case.

We recently reported that the company is now working on another variant of the same, named Realme Buds Air Neo.

Now, the upcoming Realme Buds Air Neo have surfaced online through the listing on Taiwanese National Communication Commission (NCC). While it doesn’t reveal much information about the earbuds, it gives us a clear look at the design.

While the Realme Buds Air Neo looks very similar to the Apple AirPods-like design of the Buds Air, there are some minor difference. Firstly, the upcoming Buds Air Neo will come with a microUSB port for charging, unlike the USB Type-C port on its predecessor.

This means that the upcoming Realme Buds Air Neo could be a cheaper variant of the Buds Air TWS earbuds. Although it has the same carry case, we expect the company to drop wireless charging feature to make them more budget-friendly.

EDITOR’S PICK: Realme market share falls after festive season sale while Xiaomi and Samsung see growth

When the Buds Air Neo first appeared in a teaser video shared by the company, we expected it to be a premium and upgraded variant with features like active noise cancellation. However, that no longer seems to be the case given that its more of a budget-friendly option.

Since the device has already passed through certification process, we expect Realme to launch this Buds Air Neo in the coming weeks or months.

The recently launched Buds Air from Realme comes with a battery life of 3 hours for continuous playback and up to 17 hours with the charging case. At a price point of ₹3,999, the device comes with several interesting features like the charing case which comes with support for wireless charging and has a Type-C port for wired charging.

Later, the company launched the same in China for 399 yuan (~$58).

Now, it seems that the company is working a new variant of the same TWS earbuds which could possibly come with more features and thus, a bit costlier price tag. From the teaser introducing Realme UI, it can be seen that the company’s next true wireless earbuds are named Realme Buds Air Neo.

Given that the Realme Buds Air are almost similar to the Apple AirPods and the company has blatantly copied Apple’s design, we expect the company to do the same with the Buds Air Neo and rip-off AirPods Pro to include high-end features like active noise cancellation.
