Chinese consumer tech brand Realme launched the Realme GT 2 Pro in India last week. The product is up for sale starting today (April 14) in the country. It is the company’s first-ever proper flagship smartphone. Apart from that, it is also one of the two most-affordable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 phones in the region; the other one being the Motorola Edge 30 Pro.

Realme is offering an instant ₹5,000 discount on Realme GT 2 Pro in India. To avail this offer, buyers need to use HDFC Bank credit/debit card or SBI credit card. The discount is also available on EMI transactions on these two credit cards.

Further, customers can also get a Realme Watch S worth ₹4,999 for only ₹1. Additionally, those who order the handset from Flipkart can buy Google Nest Mini, Google Nest Hub, and Google Pixel Buds A at discounted price tags of ₹1,999, ₹4,999, and ₹6,999 respectively.

Realme GT 2 hits Geekbench with Snapdragon 888 and Android 12

Since Realme has scheduled to launch the Realme GT 2 series on January 4, the last batch of leaks and teasers are in full swing. Amidst these teasers, the phone has passed the Geekbench certification confirming its key specifications.

The Realme GT 2 with model number RMX3310 has scored 1125 single-core points and 3278 multi-core points on Geekbench v5. It confirms the internals of the phone revealing the Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood. It has 12GB of RAM and runs on Android 12 out of the box. We expect it to have RealmeUI 3.1 on top of it.

Previously, the phone was spotted on certifications like TENAA, NBTC, and BIS. It revealed the device to sport a 6.62-inch AMOLED display. It equips a triple camera setup at the rear with a 50MP main sensor. It is touted to be accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP sensor. The device will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. It will have two configurations – 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option.

The Realme GT 2 series will comprise more than three phones, the Realme GT 2, Realme GT 2 Pro, the Master Edition, and a camera focused variant; as revealed by a recent leak.

The phones may have a similar design, however, the GT 2 and 2 Pro are teased to come with highlighting Diamond Ice Core Cooling Plus and VC Liquid Cooling technology. The Pro model will come powered by the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Rumous reveal that the Pro model may have up to 1TB of built-in UFS 3.1 internal storage.

Realme is all set to launch the Realme GT 2 Pro on December 20 in China. The company is also expected to launch the device in India at a similar timeframe. But, the launch date was yet to be confirmed. Now, ahead of any announcements, the vanilla Realme GT 2 was found listed on the company’s official portal.

According to the brand’s website, the Realme GT 2’s landing page seems to be in the works. The screenshot for the same can be seen above. It confirms that the smartphone will indeed debut in India and it could arrive alongside the GT 2 Pro. Unfortunately, the specs of the GT 2 are unknown, but what we can say is that it could launch either this month or in early January in India.

Coming to the series, the duo is expected to be the company’s first truly premium series in the market. The Realme GT 2 Pro is expected to come with a 6.8-inch WQHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It may come with a dew-drop or a punch-hole screen with thin bezels.

As per the renders, the phone boasts a triple camera setup placed horizontally. It will have a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP secondary lens, and lastly an 8MP tertiary lens. Upfront, it will feature a 32MP selfie shooter.

Under the hood, it will come powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G processor. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging. The smartphone will boot on Android12 out of the box with Realme UI 3.0 on top of it.
