In August this year, Realme launched the GT Master Edition smartphone in the Indian market. Initially, at the launch, the device was available in Voyager Grey, Luna White, and Cosmos Black. Now, an exclusive report from 91mobiles reveals that there will soon be a new colour in the palette.

According to the report, the Realme GT Master Edition will get the Daybreak Blue colour variant. The Daybreak Blue seems to be a fancy gradient color with a mix of blue and daylight. It is worth noting that this colour is already available in other regions like Malaysia where it was available from its launch.

In terms of the launch date, the report suggests that the Realme GT Master Edition Daybreak Blue will be available in India by the end of November or early December. The color will be launched in two configurations – 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and an 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.

The Realme GT Master Edition comes with a 6.43-inch display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate. The AMOLED screen has FHD+ resolution and holds a 32MP selfie sensor at the top of the screen. At the rear, it has a 64MP main, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro sensor.

Under the hood, the Master Edition is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC and has a 4,300mAh battery. It has support for 65W fast charging as well. The 5G phone boots on Android 11 out of the box and has Realme UI on top of it.

Handset maker realme has finally launched the realme GT series in India after teasing it for a while. The brand has brought two models to the country, namely realme GT  (review) and realme GT Master Edition (hands-on). Let’s take a look at what these smartphones have to offer and how much they cost in the region.

The realme GT and the realme GT Master Edition flaunt a 6.43-inch Samsung Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), 120Hz refresh rate, and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The panel covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and 98% of the NTSC color gamut. It has a peak brightness of 1000 nits, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 91.7% screen-to-body ratio, and a single punch-hole at the top left corner.

Just like the display, the rear camera setup is also identical on the two. Both sport a triple camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide unit, and a 2MP macro shooter. However, for selfies and video calls, the vanilla GT uses a 16MP snapper, whereas the Master Edition has a 32MP sensor.

Now, talking about the major difference, the realme GT is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset as compared to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC present inside the realme GT Master Edition. The former comes with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage but there’s no information on the type of RAM and storage included with the latter.

On the connectivity front, the duo supports dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, and NFC. Further, the realme GT has a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as dual stereo speakers. The realme GT Master Edition, on the other hand, lacks both of these features. Anyway, the duo arrives with all the essential sensors like an in-display fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, proximity sensor, and gyroscope.

Although the two run realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 and support 65W SuperDart fast charging protocol, the standard model is backed by a 4,500mAh battery, while the Master Edition gets its energy from a slightly smaller 4,300mAh battery.

These phones measure around 8-9mm in thickness and weigh about 170-190g. They come in glass and vegan leather finishes. Last but not least, the leather finish on the Master Edition has a suitcase-inspired design.

The fastest-growing smartphone brand realme has launched two new realme GT series devices in its home country China These phones, called realme GT Master Edition and realme GT Master Explorer Explorer Edition, feature a unique suitcase-inspired design, Qualcomm chipsets, high-refresh-rate display, fast charging, and more. Let’s take a detailed look at these handsets.

realme GT Master Edition Series Specifications and Features

The realme GT Master Edition series is co-designed by Naoto Fukasawa. He is the same Japanese industrial designer who was responsible for the design of previous realme Master Edition phones.

However, unlike those smartphones, which were merely new design variants of existing models, the new Master Edition phones are new handsets by themselves.

These devices sport an identical suitcase-inspired design made out of vegan leather. They also come in a standard glass finish. The regular realme GT Master Edition comes in three options, namely Suitcase Gray, Dawn, and Snow Mountain. Whereas, the realme GT Master Explorer Edition also comes in an additional Suitcase Apricot version.

The vanilla Realme GT Master Edition features a 6.43-inch Samsung Super AMOLED display (flat) with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 91.7% screen-to-body ratio, punch-hole, and 1,000 nits peak brightness. As for performance, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC.

On the other hand, the realme GT Master Explorer Edition features a much powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC. It also flaunts a 6.55-inch Samsung Super AMOLED display (curved) with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, 6,000,000:1 contrast ration, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 92.1% screen-to-body ratio, punch-hole, and 1,100 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

For photography and videography, the cheaper model uses a 64MP (wide) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro) triple camera setup on the back and a 32MP front-facing camera. Whereas, the premium model arrives with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS, 16MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro camera, and a 32MP selfie camera.

On the connectivity front, the handsets support dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. Unfortunately, they lack a MicroSD card slot as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Anyway, they include all the essential sensors like an accelerometer, in-display fingerprint sensor, compass, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. Additionally, the realme GT Master Explorer Edition alone sports a dual-speaker system with support for Dolby Audio. However, both of them have Hi-Res Audio certification.

Both phones run realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 and support 65W SuperDart fast charging. The Master Edition is backed by a 4,300mAh battery, while the Master Explorer Edition houses a 4,500mAh battery.

Last but not least, the smartphones measure around 8-9mm in thickness and weigh about 174-185g.

The devices will be available for grabs at 4 PM (local time) for those who registered for the Early Acces sale. Pre-orders will be opened post that, followed by the first open sale on July 27. The realme GT Master Explorer Edition customers will be eligible for a flat ¥100 ($15) discount for a limited time.

There’s no official word on the phone’s availability outside mainland China. However, it may launch at least in India.

After numerous leaks, we finally learned the launch date of the Realme GT Master Edition to be July 21st. Yesterday, the phone was seen in promo images along with a short teaser video. Today, the phone has appeared in a new trailer video that showcases the partnership between Realme and Naoto Fukasawa (Japan’s famous designer). It also reveals a new piece of information about the phone.

While the trailer video showcases the phone from all angles, the fresh teasers of the phone shared by Realme’s CMO look enticing. Surprisingly, both phones are said to be the upcoming Realme GT Master edition, but their rear camera islands have different designs.

According to the trailer video, the Realme GT Master Edition has a triple camera system along with a single LED flash. While the images shared by Realme’s CMO reveal that the phone has a pill-shaped LED flash and two separate LED units beneath the camera lenses.

While there’s no explanation on the same, it clearly hints at two versions of the smartphone. It is also worth noting that an unknown Realme phone with model number RMX3366 appeared in the leaks, and it could be the other version of the Realme GT Master Edition. It could be the Pro version that was tipped a few days back.

As of now, there’s nothing much to discuss other than the sturdy look of the phone. The smartphone has a taller form factor with a single-punch hole display at the front. It has horizontal bars at the back, which refers to a suitcase. It further suggests that the GT Master edition could be a good travel smartphone.

Other than this, the phone’s specs were previously leaked. It is expected to come with an AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate. It is said to boast a 32MP Sony IMX615 selfie camera and 64MP triple rear cameras.

The smartphone will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G mid-range processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It is expected to house a 4,300mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging technology. The phone was recently seen in certifications running on Android 11 out of the box.
