The realme GT NEO 2 is now receiving the Android 12-based realme UI 3.0 update in China with a bunch of new features. The phone is a recent launch and shipped with realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.

realme UI 3.0 is a fairly major update integrating multiple Android 12-specific features into the skin such as dynamic wallpaper-based theming, the new Privacy Dashboard, and mic and camera status bar indicators. These are topped with realme optimizations such as AI Smooth Engine for better animations and system performance and Floating Window 2.0.

The official update changelog was frankly a bit too long so we cut it down a bit, showing only the important parts:

Obviously, the changelog for the global variant of the realme GT NEO 2 will look a lot different. The update should take a while to reach outside China, though, since a realme official said that the complete rollout in China may take up to 15 days (via IT Home). It is likely that the global release will only start afterward.

The Realme GT Neo2 Dragon Ball Z Limited Edition is Realme’s innovative attempt at bringing your childhood anime nostalgia to a 2021 smartphone. Paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the limited-edition smartphone went on its first sale in China on January 7 at a promotional price of RMB 2699, equivalent to 424 USD.

Dragon Ball is one of the best-known Japanese Anime on this planet. And clearly, we’ve been waiting for this edition for so long. Over the years, Realme has earned a reputation for bringing unique designs on its smartphones, so today we’re quite excited to bring you the unboxing and first hands-on with the GT Neo2 DBZ limited edition. 

To start off, let’s see what we get inside the box.

This limited-edition model comes with heavily customized packaging. On the surface of the box, you can see three images of the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball Z series — Goku, shown in three states, as an adult, super Saiyan, and super Saiyan 3. And on the side, there’s an interesting detail of the Dragon-ball Radar, which is used to find the location of the dragon balls. 

Open the box, and you will get a cover printed with Goku in super Sayan 3 and the strongest opponent of Dragon Ball Z, Kid Buu. 

And it comes with a wealth of character stickers and a collection card of the Dragon. This is truly a wonderful gift for DBZ fans. I clearly remember in my childhood I was always fascinated with the concept of dragons and even wished they existed in this world. And I always thought it would be even better if it was a dragon from the planet Namiak.

Under the cover, you’ll find the limited-edition phone. It features a glass back with an orange and blue paint job in a matte finish. The frame of the device is also blue-painted, which reminds us of the overalls worn by Goku. But to be honest, the color scheme looks a bit strange and is not very close to the original tone of the anime. 

The most obvious customized detail is the famous ‘Wisdom’ Kanji alongside the phone’s camera module, which is a signature symbol of Goku throughout the entire anime. Apart from the design, the phone is no different from the standard version of the Realme GT Neo 2. Despite having ‘GT’ in the name of the phone, the entire custom look of the limited edition is based on Goku’s character from Z series instead of the later GT TV-series.

Unfortunately, after this sim-card pin that’s inspired by the four-star Dragon Ball, there are no more customized accessories in the package. The charging kit is the same as what we found in the standard version. 

Now, let’s look at its software. The lock screen also has the character, themes, and custom icons inspired by the anime. And when you activate the GT mode for the best performance, it will give you a short anime scene showing seven dragon balls have been collected, and you’re just summoning the dragon. In addition, when you use the included 65W charger for charging, the display will bring an animated effect that looks like Goku gathering energy back. And when the phone gets fully charged, Goku in the background will transform into a Super Saiyan.

Although as a fan of Dragon Ball, I wished I could see more customizations, I’m still happy to actually have it in my hand, especially considering this is the first time we are seeing a customized phone of Dragon Ball Z.

Juicing up the battery is Realme’s in-house 65W SuperDart Charging that can take the phone from 0% to 100% in an hour. For multimedia consumption, buyers will be glad to hear that the phone is equipped with a 6.62” E4 120Hz Samsung AMOLED display with dual stereo speakers to boot.

The main difference between the Dragon Ball Z Limited Edition and the normal GT Neo2 is its design and what comes inside the box. Design-wise, the new Dragon Ball Z limited edition equips the Realme GT Neo2 with a glass back design with an orange matte finish, with matte blue stripes and blue metal side rails. The design is very reminiscent of the overalls that the main character of the shonen anime, Goku, was wearing during his battles against evils.

When opening the box, you will be greeted with a custom-designed sim card pin that resembles the fourth Dragon Ball, as well as exclusive stickers and artwork in the box too. Dragon Ball fans and collectors would be overjoyed to hear that the artwork showcases Goku’s battle highlights in the Dragon Ball Z series in a small, compact, and eye-catching card-shaped form factor.

A few days back, Realme announced the Dragon Ball Z limited edition model of the GT Neo2 in China. The smartphone comes with an Orange and Blue paint job referring to the protagonist from the series Goku. Now, the limited edition model seems to launch in Indian and European markets soon, as the company CMO has teased its release outside China.

Realme’s CMO Francis Wong on Twitter asked the community whether they want the Dragon Ball Z Edition of the phone in India and Europe. While he seems to be genuinely questioning about the fan’s interest in the special edition phone, it is none other than a clever teasing of the phone’s launch.

In the past, we’ve seen companies teasing the phone by asking questions about the device, later just to realise that it was nothing but a teaser for the phone’s arrival. This tweet from Wong seems to be the same.

Having said that, it’s time for Realme India and Europe fans to gear up for the launch of the Realme GT Neo2 Dragon Ball Z limited edition phone. Although there’s no exact date of its launch, we can anticipate its arrival in the coming weeks.

The Realme GT Neo2 was launched back in September in India with specs like a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. It sports a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It has a triple camera system with a 64MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and lastly a 2MP macro sensor. Upfront, it has a 16MP selfie shooter.

Under the hood, the GT Neo2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 octa-core SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. It packs a 5,000mAh battery and has a 65W fast charging support.

Besides launching its Realme GT 2 series tonight, Realme has also launched a Dragon Ball Z limited edition of its very popular flagship killer, the Realme GT Neo2, today in China as well.

Design-wise, the new Dragon Ball Z limited edition equips the Realme GT Neo2 with a glass back design with an orange matte finish, with matte blue stripes and blue metal side rails. The design is very reminiscent of the overalls that the main character of the shonen anime, Goku, was wearing during his battles against evils.

Next to the camera island, is the Japanese Kanji character, “悟”, meaning “wisdom” or “enlightenment”. It is a signature symbol of Goku throughout the show, signifying the wisdom he gained after completing his intensive training onboard his spaceship on his way to Namek.

Besides just customizing the packaging with the Dragon Ball Z theme, Realme has also gone the further mile by including a custom-designed sim card pin that resembles the fourth Dragon Ball in the box, as well as including exclusive stickers and artwork in the box too. Dragon Ball fans and collectors would be overjoyed to hear that the artwork showcases Goku’s battle highlights in the Dragon Ball Z series in a small, compact, and eye-catching card-shaped form factor.

As for software customizations, when you power up the Realme GT Neo2, you’ll be greeted with the anime’s main character: Goku on your lock screen! The theme continues on with the custom icon packs as well, as each home screen app icon displayed on-screen will resemble the 8 dragon balls collected in the series.

Last, not but least, Realme has customized the charging animation as well. The 65W SuperDart charging(which can get you from 0% to 100% in under an hour) animation has been replaced with a 65W “Super Saiyan” charging animation, a reference to Goku going Super Saiyan to recharge his energy when he was at his lowest in terms of power.

As for the specs of the Realme GT Neo2 Dragon Ball Z limited edition, there has been no change in specs to the normal Realme GT Neo2. It still sports the same Snapdragon 870, 120Hz E4 Samsung AMOLED and a giant 5000mAh battery.

The Realme GT Neo2 Dragon Ball Z limited edition will retail officially for 2999 RMB (~$472), and on its first sale on January 7, 12AM CST, it will be on sale for 2699 RMB (~$425).

The Xiaomi 12 series is finally official and, besides the vanilla version and the Pro variant, it includes a very affordable flagship killer for those who want to save money while still getting several flagship-class specifications: the Xiaomi 12X. It carries a very affordable price if compared to the specifications and it is sold in the same price range as the Realme GT Neo2. That is the reason why we decided to publish a comparison between the specifications of the Xiaomi 12X and the Realme GT Neo2. While waiting for the global launch of the former, you can now realize which one offers the highest value on the paper through this comparison.

Xiaomi 12X vs Realme GT Neo2

Design

Despite they were released by two different brands, the Xiaomi 12X and the Realme GT Neo2 have a lot in common when it comes to design. They have a similar camera module on the rear side and a borderless display with a punch hole for the front camera. The materials used belong to the same class, but the color options of the Realme GT Neo2 are a bit more interesting. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12X is a lot more compact and thinner than its rival, which is why a lot of people may prefer it as it is one of the most compact high-end phones out there.

Display

The Xiaomi 12X has one of the smallest displays in the high-end segment with a diagonal of just 6.28 inches. But it is also one of the best displays and on the paper, it is better than the panel found on the Relame GT 2 Pro. The Xiaomi 12X has an OLED display that shows up to one billion colors and sports a 120 Hz refresh rate, the HDR10+ certification, and Dolby Vision, as well as a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and the Gorilla Glass Victus protection by Corning. The Realme GT 2 Pro has just 16 million colors and it lacks Dolby Vision support, but it has a wider 6.62-inch display which is actually better in terms of dimensions for productivity and gaming. Both the phones are equipped with an in-display fingerprint reader.

Specs & Software

Xiaomi 12X and Realme GT Neo2 have exactly the same hardware department. They are fueled by the Snapdragon 870 mobile platform by Qualcomm built at 7 nm and running at a max frequency of 3.2 GHz. The SoC is paired with either 8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. Same processor, same RAM, and same storage, but different Android version: the Xiaomi 12X is very recent and it runs Android 12, while Realme GT Neo2 runs Android 11 out of the box.

Camera

The rear cameras of the Xiaomi 12X are superior to the Realme GT Neo2. The main sensor is a 50 MP lens with OIS and it is paired with a 13 MP ultrawide camera and a 5 MP telephoto macro sensor. Realme GT 2 Neo2 has an inferior 64 MP sensor without OIS, an inferior 8 MP ultrawide camera, and an inferior 2 MP macro camera. The Xiaomi 12X even wins the selfie comparison thanks to a 32 MP front snapper.

Battery

The Realme GT Neo2 wins the battery life comparison simply because it is equipped with a bigger battery: the capacity is 5000 mAh and it allows for longer battery life in every scenario because the phone comes with similar components to the Xiaomi 12X. Charging speeds are not so different because these phones support 65W fast charging and 67W fast charging, respectively.

Price

The Realme GT Neo2 is priced at about €306/$345 in the Chinese market, while the starting price of the Xiaomi 12X in China is close to €445/$503. The Xiaomi 12X is a superior handset thanks to its better display and better cameras, but there is also an important price difference between these two handsets. Further, note that Realme GT Neo2 has a wider display and a bigger battery. Which one would you pick?

The NEO Green color option of the Realme GT Neo2 is very attractive due to its verdant shade you rarely see in smartphones and a vertical stripe going down its back. On the other hand, the Motorola Moto G200 5G is another good-looking phone as it comes without a rectangular camera module and it only has three sensors placed in the back cover. The Realme GT Neo2 is more compact because it packs a smaller display, and this is an important added value for those who want a better device to use with one hand or to keep in a pocket. The most powerful device of this comparison is the Motorola Moto G200 5G because it is powered by a better processor: the Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform that is currently the best SoC by Qualcomm. The Realme GT Neo2 offers a higher amount of RAM (up to 12 GB), but its chipset is the weaker Snapdragon 870 built at 7 nm. You won’t notice the difference between Snapdragon 888+ and Snapdragon 870 in daily use, but if you are a hardcore gamer, then having a device with Snapdragon 888+ inside makes more sense. The operating system is Android 11 in both cases, but on the Moto G200 5G it is a version of Android 11 close to the stock one, while the Realme GT Neo2 is customized by Realme UI.

Camera

The camera department is slightly more interesting on the Motorola Moto G200 5G. First of all, it has a better main camera with a 108 MP resolution which is able to capture a higher level of detail. Further, even its 16 MP front camera should be better due to a brighter focal aperture. Both the devices are midrange camera phones, so do not expect an incredible photo quality in low light conditions. But they click great photos when there is light around.

Battery

The Realme GT Neo2 and the Motorola Moto G200 5G have the same battery capacity: 5000 mAh. But the Realme GT Neo2 should offer a longer battery life because its display is more efficient. Further, the Realme GT Neo2 charges faster thanks to 65W SuperDart charging technology.

Price

The starting price of the Motorola Moto G200 5G in the global market is €599/$674, while the Realme GT Neo2 starts from €449/$505. With the Realme GT Neo2, you get a higher value for money as it offers a better display, faster charging, and similar specifications for a way more affordable price. But do not underestimate the Moto G200 5G because it has superior hardware and camera.

Thanks to the promotion, its listing price becomes even more affordable than its predecessor Realme GT 5G, which is the only other flagship killer launched by Realme in Europe this year. However, the street prices of the Realme GT 5G are great too in this period. That is the reason why a lot of people are wondering whether they should go for the Realme GT Neo2 or the Realme GT while the price of the two handsets is more or less the same. In this comparison, we will analyze the differences between the two flagships.

Realme GT Neo2 vs Realme GT 5G

Design

If you choose the Racing Yellow color variant of the Realme GT 5G, you will get the most attractive design. This variant is indeed built with a leather back and an aluminum frame, providing great materials and an amazing touch & feel. It is slightly thicker than the average phone, but the leather back is very good to see, especially in that yellow color option. If we only focus on the glass variant, then Realme GT Neo2 has a more interesting design due to better aesthetics for the camera module and better color options. Note that the Realme GT Neo2 is bigger than Realme GT 5G because it has a wider display.

Display

With the Realme GT Neo2 and the Realme GT 5G, you get more or less the same display quality. They come with an AMOLED display supporting the HDR10 certification, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint reader for the authentication. They also pack stereo speakers for a great audio experience, but the Realme GT 5G is the only one with a 3.5 mm audio jack. Coming back to the displays, the real difference between these two panels is the dimensions: Realme GT 5G has 6.43 inches, while the Realme GT Neo2 comes with a wider 6.62-inch display which may be better for gamers and productivity.

Specs & Software

The hardware department is superior on the Realme GT 5G simply because this phone is powered by a stronger processor. We are talking about the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform by Qualcomm, an octa-core built at 5 nm running at a frequency of 2.84 GHz and paired with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage. The Realme GT Neo2 has a less impressive Snapdragon 870, while the memory configurations are the same. Nothing changed in the software: Android 11 and Realme UI 2.0 for both handsets. They will most likely get two major Android updates in the European market.

Camera

Just like the software, even the cameras of the Realme GT 5G and the Realme GT Neo2 are exactly the same. On the rear side, there is a 64 MP main camera with an f/1.8 focal aperture, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro camera, while on the front there is a 16 MP selfie camera. It is an average camera setup, good for a mid-ranger but bad for a flagship. That is the main compromise of these phones and what allowed Realme to guarantee such a low price.

Battery

The main advantage of the Realme GT Neo2 over the Realme GT 5G is the battery: the former has a bigger battery capacity with 5000 mAh, while the latter stops at 4500 mAh. Both the phones support 65W fast charging, but the GT 5G obviously needs less time for a full charge because of its smaller battery.

Price

The starting listing price of the Realme GT 5G and the Realme GT Neo2 is €449/$505 for the 8/128 GB configuration. There is no definitive winner for this comparison: I personally prefer the Realme GT 5G because it has a better chipset and a leather back in the Racing Yellow color variant, but if you care more about having a longer battery life, then you should go for the Realme GT Neo2 which is still powered by a great Snapdragon 870 processor.

Design

If we do not consider the Pac-Man Edition of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, the Realme GT Neo2 has a more suggestive design with its creative color variants NEO Blue and NEO Green. But if you love Pac-Man, then you should definitely go for the Pac-Man Edition of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G sporting a glow in the dark design with the famous Pac-Man labyrinth hidden under the rear cover. Display

However, for the rest, it does not differ so much from the OnePlus Nord 2 5G in terms of image quality. The remaining main specifications are the same: a Full HD+ resolution, the AMOLED technology, and an in-display fingerprint reader. These phones are also equipped with stereo speakers which can give you a good audio experience. Unfortunately, none of them features a 3.5 mm audio jack, so you have to buy either an adapter or use true wireless earbuds.

Specs & Software

If you need higher performances because you are a hardcore gamer, you must choose the Realme GT Neo2 because it is powered by a stronger processor: the Snapdragon 870 mobile platform paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. You can get exactly the same memory configuration with the OnePlus Nord 2 5G, but the processor is weaker: we are talking about a Dimensity 1200 by Mediatek which is built with a better 6 nm production process, but it has lower CPU and GPU performance. The handsets run Android 11 out of the box and, despite they come with different UIs, the UX is very similar because OxygenOS is starting to be integrated with the ColorOS just like the Realme UI.

Camera

The best camera experience is offered by the OnePlus Nord 2 5G simply because it packs a better main camera on the rear side: it is a Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS and a 50 MP resolution, the same you can find on devices like OnePlus 9 Pro and OPPO Find X3 Pro. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is even equipped with a better front camera sporting a 32 MP resolution, while Realme GT Neo2 has just 16 MP on the front.

The Realme GT Neo2 is the winner of the battery comparison because it packs a bigger battery: the capacity is 5000 mAh, while OnePlus Nord 2 5G has just 4500 mAh. Both the phones support 65W fast charging which needs from 30 to 36 minutes to bring their batteries from 0 to 100 percent.

Price

The Realme GT Neo2 has a starting price of €449/$508 discounted at €369/$418 for the Black Friday period in the 8/128 GB configuration. The same configuration of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G carries a price tag of €399/$450. Overall, the Realme GT Neo2 wins the comparison because of its amazing chipset, superior display, and bigger battery, but the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is a better camera phone.

The design of the Realme GT Neo2 is slightly more attractive because it comes in original color variants such as the gradient NEO Blue and NEO Green with a black stripe reminding of a sports car. Further, it is a more compact phone and its camera module is less invasive. On the other hand, you can get a better build quality with the Xiaomi 11T: this handset has the IP53 certification making it dust resistant and splash resistant, and it also provides the Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display. If you are searching for the most powerful hardware, then you should choose the Realme GT Neo2. First of all, it has the most powerful chipset: the Snapdragon 870 running at 3.2 GHz and composed of Kryo CPUs and the Adreno 660 GPU. Further, it offers a higher quantity of RAM: up to 12 GB, while you get a max of 8 GB with the Xiaomi 11T. The Xiaomi flagship killer is equipped with a Dimensity 1200 chipset by Mediatek which is built with a better production process, but its performance is inferior. The phones run Android 11 with Realme UI and MIUI to customize it, respectively. They support 5G connectivity and WiFi 6; no expandable storage, but there is a dual SIM slot.

Camera

Realme GT Neo2 and Xiaomi 11T can be considered midrange camera phones, but the Xiaomi 11T is able to provide a better photo quality thanks to the main camera with a resolution of 108 MP. The Realme GT Neo2 has a 64 MP main camera which is definitely inferior and even an inferior macro camera (2 MP vs 5 MP). Despite the main camera of the GT Neo2 being less impressive, it is the only one that can record 4K videos at 60 fps.

The battery capacity of Realme GT Neo2 and Xiaomi 11T is exactly the same: 5000 mAh. But this does not mean they will guarantee the same battery life because they are equipped with different components. Fast charging should reach similar speeds as the powers are 65W and 67W, respectively.

Realme GT Neo2 has a starting price of €449/$508 but it is available for just €369/$417 for the Black Friday period, while the street price of the Xiaomi 11T is currently €499/$565. Given the price difference, the Realme GT Neo2 offers a higher value for money besides a superior chipset, but the Xiaomi 11T is a slightly better phone overall.

Back in September, Realme unveiled the GT Neo2 smartphone in China followed by an India launch last month. Today, the Realme GT Neo2 has arrived in other major markets like Malaysia and Thailand.

The Realme GT Neo2 is priced at THB 13,990(~$416) in Thailand and MYR 2,099(~$505) in Malaysia. It is worth noting that the higher price in Malaysia is for the top 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, whereas, Thailand also has a base 8GB RAM and 128GB variant to choose from.

For comparison, the phone is priced starting at ₹31,999(~$425) in India for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, whereas, in the Chinese market, it costs 2,499 Yuan(~$390).

Realme GT Neo2 Specifications 

The Realme GT Neo2 raises the bar for mid-range segment phones in the regions. The phone brings a 6.62-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution. It has support for a 120Hz refresh rate and a 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. The display has 1300 nits of brightness and holds a 16MP selfie camera.

It equips a triple camera system at the rear with a 64MP main lens with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and lastly a 2MP macro sensor. The device has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 at the helm which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It has a 5,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging technology.

As for security, the smartphone has an in-display scanner as well as facial unlock support. The smartphone comes in two colour variants – Neo Blue and Neo Green.

Realme GT Neo2 was launched a few days back in India and it brought flagship-grade specs to the table. The smartphone features a 120Hz display, 64MP triple cameras, and Snapdragon 870. Starting today, the smartphone will go on sale in India.

The Realme GT Neo2 is priced at ₹31,999(~$425) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and ₹35,999(~$478) for the 2GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. But, in the first sale, the phone will be available starting at ₹24,999(~$385) and ₹28,999(~$332). The sale starts at 12 PM IST on Flipkart.

Realme GT Neo2 Specifications 

The Realme GT Neo2 comes with a 6.62-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display. It has a Full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz screen refresh rate. The screen has 1300 nits of brightness and a 100 % DCI-P3 colour gamut. Upfront, it has a 16MP selfie camera and features a triple camera system at the rear.

It has a 64MP main lens with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and lastly a 2MP macro camera. At the helm, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.

It also has an in-display fingerprint scanner and facial unlock support. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging technology. Realme claims that it can go from 0% to 100% in just 36 minutes.

Realme just released its new model, the Realme GT Neo2. The brand’s last major release was the Realme GT Master series, which was released around the end of July. So the new model comes just a couple of months after the GT Master series. The reason why Realme is able to confidently update its product library so quickly is because of its increasing sales figures in the global market. It continues to be the fastest-growing phone brand in the world in 2021. 

The Realme GT series has become one of the top-selling phone series in the last season due to its high value for money. And the new GT Neo2 is another attractive option that still continues the GT series’ credo. 

Judging from the features, it looks like the new model isn’t going to give competitors a chance to breathe. This time, the Realme GT Neo2 focuses on gaming performance. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 870 platform, which is also the most commended flagship chipset for Android this year especially since Snapdragon 888 models often faced thermal issues. 

So is the GT Neo2 going to maintain the brand’s attacking position in the market? Let’s find out. 

Realme Neo GT2 Unboxing

First, let’s unbox the device and talk about its design. The GT Neo2 continues to apply Realme’s classic packaging, and we can see the main selling points of the phone at the back, including a 870 processor, 120Hz E4 AMOLED display, 65W superfast charging, and the brand-new cooling solution. And the most intriguing selling point is definitely the new cooling solution. We are very curious to see if it can help the chipset achieve an even better performance output.

We will come to this very soon in this review. 

Once you open the box, we can see the phone is on the upper layout. And below the phone, there is an attached phone case and the 66W charging suit. 

Realme Neo GT2 Review: Design & Display

Well, looking back to the phone, we have to say that Realme always gives us surprises over colors. This time, apart from the Blue and black variants, Realme offers an extremely visually appealing color, which is none but the Neo green variant in our hands. The contrast rear design between fluorescent green and black looks so realme-style. The green area adapts AG-glass processing, and it feels so smooth that the glass cover reminds us of a silky texture.

Even the bulging camera module has a consistent color finish. Over to the right side, the dark glossy bar with the brand logo makes this design stand out and brings a balance to the fancy green color shade. No doubt, the green version will become the favorite of many users. But if you prefer a simple and low-profile design, we still recommend the Black or Blue variant since they look more elegant. 

The front face of the phone uses a 6.62-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a hole punched at the left upper corner, which looks no different from the brand’s previous models. However, this display is probably the best display that you can have in this price range.

The Full-HD+ display is made of a Samsung E4 panel with a peak local brightness at 1300 nits. While playing HDR Content, it has a well-tuned color presentation and decent contrast. 

And unlike those edge-curved displays, the flat panel on the GT Neo 2 looks more comfortable with a better presentation of edge content. In addition, on this 120Hz display, all the operations and animations feel very smooth similar to those of premium models. 

Compared to its predecessor, the Realme GT Neo2 has upgraded its battery capacity up to 5000mAh, which makes long hours of gaming very easy. But at the same time, the larger battery will increase the thickness and weight of the phone to some extent. The GT Neo 2 is 8.6mm thick and weighs 199.8g, which is still acceptable for most gamers when considering the 5000mAh battery. 

And coupled with Realme’s 65W fast-charging efficiency, the large battery could still be easily charged to 100% in just 37 mins. Note that fast charging can also be used while gaming, which is definitely good news for those long hours of gaming. 

Realme Neo GT2 Review: Performance & Gaming

As for performance, since the phone is powered by the flagship-grade Snapdragon 870 chipset, we no longer need to mention how powerful the processor can be. 

Just check the benchmark results we got here. They are almost the best results that we’ve got among all Snapdragon 870 platforms.

Now, let’s move on to its actual gaming performance. In PUBG Mobile, the GT Neo 2 could give us an extremely stable gaming experience at 60fps frame rate, which is one of the best results that we tested this game under HDR graphics.

Then, in the stressful Genshin Impact under the highest graphics settings, it surprisingly got an excellent average frame rate at 58.23fps. But here, please note that in some complicated scenes, the running state got a bit fluctuated. But thanks to the powerful thermal design, when it came to some less stressful scenes, the phone pulled the performance up again and maintained a smooth experience.

Then, we subject it to another heavy game, Nimian Legend. Under 1080P resolution with top graphic settings, the phone proved itself again with the frame rate result of 53.30fps. We continuously played the three games for a total of 1 and a half hours, but impressively, the phone didn’t really heat up much.

Well, at least it was not like other gaming models, as the max surface temperature only reached around 46℃. With such a powerful performance output, such a cooling effect is very rare on the models powered by the Snapdragon 870. 

Although it’s not strictly a gaming phone, the GT Neo2’s gaming performance is close to or even exceeds what other gaming phones can do. More importantly, during all the tests under the aggressive GT mode, the phone didn’t let thermal issues become a limitation of the stable performance output. 

Realme Neo GT2 Review: Cameras

On this phone, we also want to talk about its camera performance. The Neo 2 comes with a 64MP main camera, an 8MP wide-angle camera, and another 2MP macro lens. 

Main Camera

Let’s start with the main camera. From the samples, we found that the image tone of the main camera looks brilliant, and sometimes it even could be a bit over-saturated when shooting vivid subjects. And sometimes the image could be overexposed when meeting high-contrast scenarios and lost detail in extremely bright parts. Apart from these things, the image looks pretty awesome, thanks to its rich detail and life-like colors. And it also has good performance in night shooting. Under low light conditions, most images are clean with a good dynamic range. But under extremely low light conditions, the images are not so good at capturing dark details. 

Wide Angle Camera

As for the wide-angle camera, the images have a pretty good white balance and close color presentation with the main camera. But the purple fringing issue is a bit serious, especially at the corners.

Under general night scenes, the images look good but under extreme low light scenes, the samples have no surprises despite improvements in overall brightness.  

So obviously the image quality of the wide-angle lens still needs to be optimized.

Macro Camera

Well, the macro lens only comes with 2MP resolution. So the images shot on this lens are not really impressive. For shooting close subjects, we prefer to use the main camera, which has much better color and details. 

Street Mode

In addition, we found that Realme has added the Street mode to the GT Neo2, which used to be an exclusive shooting mode for the GT Master series. The images shot in this mode have really strong styles and more dramatic filters for options. And it also supports quick open by double-pressing a volume button when the screen is off, which is really useful in street photography. 

Realme Neo GT2 Review: Battery Life

In our test about its battery life, the result shows that the 5000mAh battery can support a slightly longer usage time than those models featuring 4000 or 4500mAh batteries. Coupled with the 37 minutes of full charge efficiency, there’s no need to worry about power while playing games for a long time. 

So the Realme GT Neo 2 no doubt is another flagship killer for the brand. 

We talked about its impressive design, excellent display quality, powerful performance, amazing power solution, revolutionary cooling system, and so on. It has almost all the important features to be a real flagship killer. If you don’t care much about the phone’s cameras, the GT Neo 2 will not let you down at this price point.

The Realme GT Neo2 has been extremely successful in China owing to its amazing specs and attractive, premium design offered at quite a wallet-friendly price. Ahead of its global debut on October 13, here’s all you need to know before you make up your mind about grabbing one off the shelf.

Design & Display

The Realme GT Neo2 sports a design that’s not too different from the latest offerings by OnePlus. Take the OnePlus 9R, for example, which has a camera module with a design quite comparable to the one found on the GT Neo2. Both also come with punch-hole front cameras aligned to the left. The parallels between the design language between the duo shouldn’t come as a surprise though considering their common parent company.

As for the display on the Realme GT Neo2, it is a high-end 120Hz AMOLED panel with HDR10+ supported, capable of lighting all the way up to 1300 nits (claimed). The size stands at 6.62-inches.

Cameras on the Realme GT Neo2

The camera module on the rear is a particularly good-looking one but it’s what it packs that is the main highlight. The triple camera array is comprised of a 64MP primary shooter with an f/1.8 aperture, a 8MP ultrawide sensor, and finally a 2MP macro. The primary is capable of shooting crisp 4K videos at 60fps.

Coming to the front, the selfie camera is housed within a relatively small punch-hole and sports a 16MP sensor. This one’s capable of recording up to 1080p/30fps.

Other Specifications

The main highlight of the phone is the processor it is powered with – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. Being flagship-level, the chip is one of the most powerful in the Android world as of now.

But with great power also comes the great responsibility of keeping the phone’s temperature under control, and that’s something Realme has nailed thanks to the implementation of a diamond ice core cooling system that covers 17932mm² in terms of surface area with aerospace-grade cooling gel.

The processor is fed by a 5000mAh battery capable of filling up at 65W. Additionally, the device has dual stereo speakers, a 600Hz touch sampling rate, and Dolby Atmos Games support. All of the phone’s components are protected by Gorilla Glass 5 from the outside.

Software

The phone will be booting into Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 despite Android 12 hitting stable. This shouldn’t be a problem though considering that Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 development is currently in full swing.

Colors, Price, & Release

Colors are perhaps the most interesting bit of the phone and have been heavily marketed as well. The smartphone will come in three color options in India, including Neo Black, Neo Green, and Neo Blue. There are talks about a special Mercedes-AMG special edition as well, although it’s unclear if it will be making its way to India.

The phone will be launched in Europe as well, with the base variant with 8GB+128GB config costing EUR 369 and a 12GB+256GB config priced at EUR 459.

In India, it will be launched on October 13 with the Realme October product launch event, likely at a price between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 30,000. The variants will be the same as the ones to be sold in Europe.

Other Products Expected at Event

The Indian October Realme launch event will also be unveiling Realme Buds Air 2 (Closer Green), Realme 4K Google TV Stick, and Realme Brick Bluetooth Speaker. Realme recently confirmed the launch of the Realme GT Neo2 through a press release, setting the date for October 13. The smartphone will be launched through a virtual event that will be held via Realme’s official channels. Several specifications of the phone have been confirmed as well through Realme’s website. The company has revealed that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 870 processor and will sport a high-end 120Hz E4 AMOLED panel.

The Realme Buds Air 2 were unveiled earlier this year in March as one of the most affordable true wireless earphones to come with active noise cancellation (ANC) support in the Indian market.

These earphones will now be getting a new Closer Green color to its existing roster of color choices that includes Closer White, Closer Black, and Closer Gold, on October 13.

Realme 4K Smart TV Google Stick

The Realme 4K Google TV Stick is set to be the first streaming device from the brand and will support a crisp 4K resolution, just as its name implies. It will run the Google TV interface and will be available in black.

Realme Brick Bluetooth Speaker

The upcoming portable speaker has been very appropriately named considering that it does look like brick. It will be able to output 20W sound, feature a 2-speaker unit consisting of dynamic bass boost drivers, and be compatible with the Realme Link app.

As far as endurance is concerned, the speaker will last for 14 hours on a full charge via a USB Type-C port. It will also sport bass radiators and have an IPX5 water resistance rating.

Mobile Gaming Accessories

Last but not least are the three mobile gaming accessories that will be unveiled alongside the aforementioned with the October product launch event, namely Realme Cooling Back Clip Neo, Type-C SuperDart Game Cable, and Mobile Game Triggers.

Realme’s October 13th launch event will begin at 12:30 PM and will be live-streamed through the company’s official YouTube and Facebook channels. Android 11-based Realme UI 3.0 is also said to be talked about at the event.

Smartphone brand realme has been teasing the launch of realme GT Neo2 in India for the past few days. At last, the company has finally revealed the date when it will be debuting the handset in the country. The device will go official in the region next week.

According to the official Twitter account and website of realme India, the brand will be launching the realme GT Neo2 in India on October 13 at 12:30 PM. Going by the teases, the device will be the same as the original model sold in China.

The original realme GT Neo is known as realme X7 Max. Hence, India didn’t get a phone in the realme GT Neo series. This makes the realme GT Neo2 to be the first model in the lineup to reach the Indian shores.

As far as specs are concerned, the realme GT Neo2 has a 6.62-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 870, 64MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear camera setup, 16MP front-facing camera, realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11, 5,000mAh battery, and 65W fast charging.

Other features of the handset include stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint sensor, dual-SIM, 5G connectivity, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS, NFC, and USB Type-C.

Last but not least, the phone is expected to start below ₹30,000 in the country.

Earlier today, the pricing and the launch date of the upcoming Realme GT Neo2 were leaked. Now, the smartphone has appeared on the Google Play Console listing revealing its key specs.

The Realme GT Neo2’s Play console listing confirms that the phone has a 1084 x 2400 pixels resolution screen. It runs on Android 11 out of the box. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. We expect it to also arrive in a 12GB RAM variant with 256GB of onboard storage.

In addition to this, an earlier leak revealed that the Realme GT Neo2 could launch at the same price range as the Realme X7 Max. To recall, the X7 Max started at ₹26,999(~$361) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and ₹29,999(~$401) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. That said, we can expect ₹26,999(~$361) starting price of the Realme GT Neo2.

Realme GT Neo2 launch Date and Specifications 

The Realme GT Neo2 is expected to launch on October 13th in the Indian market. It will most likely have the same specs sheet as the Chinese edition. The smartphone sports a 6.62-inch Full-HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will feature a 64MP triple-rear camera system and a 16MP selfie camera lens. After launching the Realme GT Neo2 in China last month, Realme is ready to bring it to other markets. So far, it has been reported that the phones will be launched in India and Europe but Realme is yet to reveal the launch dates. However, a leaker has disclosed when the phone will be announced in India.

According to a tweet posted a few hours ago by the Indian leaker Abhishek Yadav, the Realme GT Neo2 will be announced on, Wednesday, October 13. That is exactly a week from today.

The Realme GT Neo2 has a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a punch hole at the top left corner for a 16MP camera. There is a Snapdragon 870 processor under the hood and it draws juice from a 5000mAh battery. Earlier this week, a leak revealed the phone will be available in two configurations in India – 8GB RAM + 128GB and 12GB RAM + 256GB.

There are three cameras on the back – a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP sensor with an ultrawide angle lens, and a 2MP sensor for shooting photos in macro mode. The phone has an under-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.1. It supports 65W fast charging via USB-C and runs Android 11. In India, the Realme GT Neo2 will come in two memory variants — 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. This means that the 8GB RAM with256GB internal storage model, which is available in China, won’t be coming to India.

Realme GT Neo2 and iQOO 8 are very close if we talk about the image quality of their displays. On the paper, it looks like the Realme GT Neo2 is slightly better because it has the HDR10+ certification and a very high 1300 nit peak brightness. But you should not notice big differences between their displays: both are AMOLED panels with Full HD+ resolutions of 1080 x 2400 pixels, in-display fingerprint readers, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Note that the display of the Realme GT Neo2 is slightly wider with its 6.62-inch diagonal.

Specs & Software

If you need the most powerful flagship, then you should go for the iQOO 8 without thinking twice: it is powered by the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform which is stronger than the Snapdragon 870 found on the Realme GT Neo2. The maxed out memory configurations are the same, with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 native storage, so the processor is what makes the difference. The phones run Android 11 out of the box, customized by Origin OS and Realme UI, respectively. Both are very advanced user interfaces with several features and deep customization.

Camera

The iQOO 8 is undoubtedly a better camera phone. First of all, the 50 MP main sensor is superior to the 64 MP main camera of the Realme GT Neo2. We can tell the same about the secondary cameras of the iQOO 8: a 13 MP telephoto sensor and a 13 MP ultrawide camera. With the Realme GT Neo2, you get an 8 MP ultrawide sensor and a 2 MP macro camera instead of the telephoto sensor: there is no way for it to compete with the iQOO 8. The front cameras are exactly the same: 16 MP sensors with f/2.5 focal aperture.

Battery

The biggest advantage of the Realme GT Neo2 over the iQOO 8 is the battery life: with a capacity of 5000 mAh, it has a longer battery life in every scenario. The iQOO 8 has just 4350 mAh and its battery life is surely inferior, but it has a faster charging tech with a power of 120W. However, the Realme GT Neo2 is still pretty fast to charge with its 65W power.

Price

In China, the Realme GT Neo2 has a starting price of €320/$371, while the starting price of the iQOO 8 roughly translates into €500/$580. Overall, the iQOO 8 has a higher value because it features a superior chipset and better cameras. But if you do not mind about camera performance, you should prefer the Realme GT Neo2 because it offers a longer battery life and its price is way inferior. The battery life will be very important if you are a gamer, even more than the difference between the Snapdragon 870 and the Snapdragon 888. However, the 120W fast charging is an added value of the iQOO 8: despite its battery is much smaller, having so 120W fast charging technology allows remaining out of battery only for a very short time. Further, the new flagship killer has a wider display with a diagonal of 6.62 inches, while GT Neo has just 6.43 inches and it is not exactly the best diagonal for gamers.

Realme GT Neo2 and GT Neo are phones targeted to gamers and power users, that is why they come with a flagship-class hardware department. The former is more advanced as it comes with a stronger chipset: the Snapdragon 870 by Qualcomm. The Dimensity 1200 by MediaTek found on the original GT Neo is built with a better 6 nm production process, but the Snapdragon 870 is able to provide better CPU and GPU performance. The memory configurations provide up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Both the phones run Android 11 out of the box customized by Realme UI 2.0 and they will be updated to Android 12 and Realme UI 3.0.

Camera

Realme GT Neo2 and GT Neo have exactly the same camera department: there is no difference. It includes a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro camera on the rear side, as well as a 16 MP front camera for selfies. It is a midrange-class camera setup, you can not expect a very high image quality but it is not disappointing. What will make the difference between the camera performance of these two flagship killers is the ISP found in the processor: they have different SoCs, so different ISPs too.

Battery

In my opinion, the most important upgrade of the Realme GT Neo2 is the battery. It has a capacity of 5000 mAh instead of the 4500 mAh found on the Realme GT Neo. The battery life is one of the main limits of Realme flagships this year and the GT Neo2 solves the problem with a bigger and longer-lasting unit. Both the phones feature 65W fast charging, but naturally, the original GT Neo charges faster because its battery is smaller.

Price

The starting price of the Realme GT Neo in China is about €260/$304 at the actual change, while the Realme GT Neo2 starts from €320/$374. However, you can currently find the vanilla GT Neo with better street prices because it is older. The Realme GT Neo2 is a very good upgrade if we talk about the battery and the chipset, but if you are not searching for great battery life, then you can decide to save money for the GT Neo.

The GT Neo2 houses a diamond ice core cooling system that covers 17932mm² in terms of surface area with aerospace grade cooling gel. It also uses tempered VC and three dimensional graphene layers for better heat dissipation to maximize gaming performance. Notably, the device runs Realme UI 2.0, which is based on Android 11 OS.

At the back, the Realme GT Neo2 sports a triple camera module, with a primary 64 megapixel shooter paired alongside an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens and a 2 megapixel macro sensor. The pre-orders for the new smartphone will go live later today, with official sales starting from 27th September 2021. The first sale will include a free headset worth 129 Yuan (roughly 20 US Dollars), a one year warranty renewal, and an additional 6 months of free use of 2 TB cloud space. The GT Neo2 prices are:

• 8GB + 128GB – 2499 Yuan (roughly 390 US Dollars) with a starting price of 2399 Yuan (roughly 370 US Dollars)

• 8GB + 256GB – 2699 Yuan (roughly 420 US Dollars) with a starting price of 2599 Yuan (roughly 400 US Dollars)

• 12GB + 256GB – 2999 Yuan (roughly 465 US Dollars) with a starting price of 2899 Yuan (roughly 450 US Dollars)

The Chinese smartphone maker is also offering the device with additional gaming peripherals, which the customers can opt to buy. This includes a Realme Gaming Should Buttons for 99 Yuan (roughly 15 US Dollars), a Type C Super Flash Charge Data Cable for 129 Yuan and a Cooling Back Clip for the Neo2 for 99 Yuan.

Realme has officially scheduled to launch the all-new Realme GT Neo2 smartphone on September 22 in China. Soon after the launch, we expect the phone to land in the Indian market. Now, ahead of the arrival, the phone’s Chinese prices have been leaked.

The Realme GT Neo2 is touted to be priced at RMB 2,499(~$386) in China. It will come in three variants and the aforementioned price will be for the base variant i.e. 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant will cost RMB 2,699(~$417) and the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant will be priced at RMB 2,999(~$463).

That said, the Indian pricing is expected to be similar to the Chinese pricing. It may arrive for under ₹30,000.

Realme GT Neo2 Specifications 

The Realme GT Neo2 is expected to come with a large 6.62-inch Full-HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be an E4 AMOLED panel with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The smartphone will boast a 16MP single camera at the front and will have a triple camera system at the rear.

It will feature a 64MP main lens, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. Realme has confirmed that the brand’s latest smartphone, dubbed Realme GT Neo2, is all set to go official on 22nd September. Ahead of the launch, the company has been shared key features of the device.

In the latest development, Xu Qi, Vice President at Realme and President of Realme China confirmed that the upcoming GT Neo2 smartphone will come with dual stereo speakers and will the first batch of devices will also support Dolby Atmos Games.

The company has already confirmed that the smartphone will feature a 6.62-inch Full HD+ E4 AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, 1300nits brightness, DC Dimming, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

It is also confirmed to come with an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security. Realme has also revealed that the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset and have a diamond ice core cooling system.

The device is expected to pack up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. As for the camera configuration, it has been reported that the smartphone will be having a triple-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary lens, and a 2-megapixel tertiary camera.

The Realme GT Neo2 will come powered by a 5,000mAh battery and have support for 65W fast charging technology. We expect the smartphone to be running the Android 11 operating system out-of-the-box with the company’s own Realme UI on top.

A recent report claims that along with the Snapdragon 870 SoC, there will be another model of the smartphone that will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI chipset and some minor changes internally.

Coming to the pricing, the MediaTek-powered variant could be priced around 2,000 yuan, which is approximately $310 while the Qualcomm-powered variant, which is said to be focused on gaming, is expected to cost around 2,500 yuan, about $387.

Realme has scheduled to launch the Realme GT Neo2 on September 22 in China. Ahead of its launch, its specs and details were teased by none other than Realme itself. But, there’s a twist as the model which was recently teased by Realme will come powered by a Snapdragon processor. However, a fresh piece of information from the notorious tipster DigitalChatStation confirms that the phone will also have a Dimensity model.

According to the tipster, the Realme GT Neo2 will have another version apart from the Snapdragon 870 powered model. The phone will also arrive in a Dimensity 1200 AI SoC model with slight internal changes.

Starting with the display, the Dimensity model will have a smaller 6.43-inch AMOLED panel instead of the 6.62-inch screen on the Snapdragon model. The phone will feature the same 120Hz refresh rate and a Full-HD+ resolution. It will pack a 4,500mAh battery with a faster 65W fast charging support.

The rest of the specs seem to remain the same as the Snapdragon model. It will have a 64MP triple camera system and a 16MP selfie sensor. The phone is touted to have a fingerprint scanner under the screen offering added security. It will run on Android 11 out of the box with Realme UI on the top.

The tipster has also shared the dimensions and price range of the smartphone. The phone will be 8.4mm in thickness and will weigh 186 grams. The Realme GT Neo2 Dimensity model is expected to cost around CNY 2,000(~$310) price range in China.

After confirming the device’s existence earlier this month, Realme recently confirmed that its upcoming smartphone, dubbed Realme GT Neo2 will be officially launched in the Chinese market on 22nd September.

Now, in the latest teaser poster shared by Realme to highlight features of the upcoming smartphone, the company has confirmed that the GT Neo2 will be featuring a diamond ice core cooling system to control the device’s temperature.

If the reports are to be believed, then the diamond condensate heat dissipation performance is 50 percent higher than conventional gel. It packs three-dimensional graphene, customized concave and convex surface covering the heating source.

There’s also stainless steel VC heat dissipation surface of 4129mm², which indicates an increase of 26 percent in the area when compared with the previous generation; a screen warehouse graphite sheet; and a screen IC graphite copper foil conforms to the material.

Realme has already confirmed that the GT Neo2 smartphone will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging technology.

The smartphone is expected to be available in two memory configurations — 8GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage and 12GB RAM along with 256GB of internal storage. The phone is said to come in Neo Blue and Neo Green colors. It has also been leaked that the 8GB RAM model could cost $499 while the 12GB RAM will be priced at $599.

It is said to feature a 6.62-inch screen that delivers a Full HD+ screen resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The AMOLED panel will come integrated with a fingerprint scanner. Barely a few months have passed since the release of the Realme GT Neo and Realme is now already set to announce its successor. The next generation has been named Realme GT Neo2, and it will be making its debut at 2 PM (local time) on September 22.

And today, Realme has officially teased a “BlackMint” color option for the Realme GT Neo2, which comprises black and mint colors just as the name implies. The rear panel has been splashed mostly with a flashy minty green color, but it is complemented by a couple of black stripes. The thicker among the two has “realme” written on it, while the thinner band has marquee-like text that we have become all too familiar with – “DARE TO LEAP” in all caps.

Prominent leakster Digital Chat Station has revealed that the BlackMint color option for the Realme GT Neo2 will be making use of satin AG technology for a matte finish. For the uninitiated, AG stands for anti-glare and is less reflective and less of a fingerprint magnet when pitched against the regular glass back.

We previously highlighted how the Realme GT Neo2 would be coming with a Neo Green color option. However, as it has turned out, the color is actually called BlackMint. Other rumored color options include a darker green color with a special Mercedes-AMG edition of the phone, Mirror Black, Dream Blue, and Super Orange.
