Realme Narzo 50A Prime launch date tipped for the Indian market

Realme launched the Narzo 50A Prime in Indonesia last month with no word about its release for other markets. Now, the tipster Paras Guglani has revealed that the smartphone will debut by the end of this month in the Indian market.

As per the tipster, the Realme Narzo 50A Prime will launch on April 30 in the Indian market. The device is tipped to arrive in two colors and two variants. We expect the phone to come in 4GB + 64GB variant and 4GB + 128GB variant in India as the same variants were launched in the Indonesian market. As for the colors, it is expected to come in Flash Black and Flash Blue color variants.

The Realme Narzo 50A Prime sports a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with a Full-HD+ resolution and 600 nits of brightness. It has a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The device has an 8MP selfie snapper on the front and a triple camera system at the rear. The rear setup has a 50MP main lens, a 2MP portrait B&W sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera.

It is powered by the UNISOC T612 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of RAM. It houses a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It has a USB Type-C port for charging and a 3.5mm headphone jack for audio. For security, it has a side-facing fingerprint scanner. The device boots on Android 11 OS and has Realme UI R Edition on top of it.

A couple of weeks ago, Realme launched the Narzo 50A Prime in Indonesia. The device became the first budget Realme handset to launch without a charging brick included in the box. Now, the brand has announced that the same will be the case for the Indian market.

Realme took to its community forums to make a formal announcement of the same. Similar to Apple which initiated this shift in trend, the brand has cited environmental reasons behind the decision.

In a recent interview, Realme VP & President of realme International Business Group, Madhav Sheth stated “We have taken initiatives to focus on sustainability and are also attempting to achieve Double Zero targets like net-zero carbon emissions by 2025.”

The company also stated that there are a lot of 10W chargers lying around us and so this move will allow the company to contribute toward a more sustainable environment. However, it is worth noting that the Narzo 50A Prime is rated for 18W fast charging, which cannot be achieved with 10W charging bricks which are lying around us in abundance.

This is not the company’s first attempt at making more environment-conscious decisions as their latest flagship, the Realme GT 2 Pro has its back panel made out of materials like soybeans, paper, and other eco-friendly polymers.

The Realme Narzo 50A Prime has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen that produces a Full HD+ resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio, 600 nits of brightness, and a 90.7 percent space. The display punch-hole houses an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The camera module features a 50-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel portrait B&W sensor, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and an LED flash.

The Android 11 OS with Realme UI R Edition comes preinstalled on the device. It packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging over USB-C. For security, it has a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

Under the hood, the device features a Unisoc T612 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage. The handset includes other features such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Back in November 2021, Realme Narzo 50A Prime was first revealed via a source code leak. The device was revealed to carry the model number RMX3516. Now, a new leak has surfaced hinting at an imminent release of the device in the Indian market.

According to a report by 91mobiles, tipster Mukul Sharma has shared new screenshots featuring the Realme Narzo 50A Prime moniker on Realme India’s website. The screenshot also reveals the Realme 9 series listing, which is yet to launch in the Indian market.

No specifications and features of the upcoming Narzo 50A Prime have been revealed yet. However, the device is expected to have some similar specifications as the Realme Narzo 50A which was launched in India back in September 2021.

The Narzo 50A sports a 6.5-inch display that offers 400 nits of brightness on the front with a waterdrop notch and an 88.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. On the rear, it sports a triple camera setup, which includes a 50 megapixel AI camera, a 2-megapixel portrait lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor, while the front houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The device is available in two colors, namely Oxygen Blue and Oxygen Green, and two storage variants as well, with 4GB of RAM paired with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

The Narzo 50A packs the MediaTek Helio G85 processor that is optimized for gaming, which is paired with the ARM Mali G52 GPU. The device is powered by a large 6,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging along with reverse charge support as well that enables it to charge other products. It also offers a rear-mounted fingerprint reader for security and supports a microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 256GB.
