After teasing for days, Realme has finally launched the Realme Pad X in India. It is the brand’s third tablet in the country after the original Realme Pad and the Realme Pad Mini.

The Realme Pad X is the company’s most advanced tablet to date. It was first released in China in late May. The device is not only powered by a better chipset but also offers optional 5G connectivity.

Let’s take a look at its specs along with its pricing and availability in India.

Realme Pad X Specifications

The Realme Pad X is built around an 11-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels and 16.7 million colors. The panel has a 450 nits peak brightness level and 84.6% screen-to-body ratio. It has support for DC Dimming and a TÜV Rheinland-certified hardware-level blue light filter.

The tablet’s display also carries support for stylus input. The official ‘Realme Pencil’ stylus accessory offers 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity, a 240Hz sampling rate, and charges magnetically on the side of the device. There’s also an official ‘Realme Smart Keyboard’ accessory, which has a 1.3mm key travel.

The Realme Pad X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC. It boots Realme UI 3.0 for Pad based on Android 12. It comes with features like PC Connect, Limelight (Apple Center Stage knockoff), and split-view to name a few.

Other features include a 13MP rear camera, an 8MP front-facing camera, Dolby Atmos-supported quad speakers, a MicroSD card slot, and a USB Type-C port. 

Last but not least, the tablet is backed by an 8,340mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.

Realme Pad X Price and Availability in India

The Realme Pad X will retail at the following price tags in India.

• 4GB + 64GB (WiFi-only) – ₹19,999 ($251)
• 4GB + 64GB (WiFi + 5G) – ₹25,999 ($326)
• 6GB + 128GB (WiFi + 5G) – ₹27,999 ($351)

It can be availed in either Glacier Blue or Glowing Grey color options. The first sale is scheduled for at 12 PM on August 1 via Realme.com, Flipkart, and retail stores across the country. All three variants will be sold at a discount of ₹2,000 during the initial store.

The official accessories will be sold at the following price tags.

• Realme Pencil – ₹5,499 ($69)
• Realme Smart Keyboard – ₹4,999 ($63)

A few days back, the Realme Pad X was tipped to launch in India in the first half of June. Now, it is being said that the tablet’s debut in the country will be delayed. Let’s check out when it may release in the region.

According to Youtuber Sahil Karoul (via Abhishek Yadav), the Realme Pad X will launch in India before July 10. Previously, the tablet was tipped to debut in the country in mid-June.

We believe the new release timeline could be accurate. Because we are already halfway through June and Realme hasn’t announced the launch date for the tablet yet.

Talking about the product, it was first announced in China in May. It is only available in the brand’s home country for now.

Unlike other tablets in the firm’s portfolio, this one runs the Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 for Pad software. However, it’s not known whether the product will ship with the same software outside mainland China.

Last but not least, despite featuring a 5G-enabled Snapdragon 695 chip, the tablet only comes in a WiFi-only variant.

Late last month, Realme launched a new tablet in China called Realme Pad X. It is the brand’s first tablet in its home country. The product is expected to debut in India this month. Ahead of its release, I would like to share my opinion on why it could be a game-changer in the region if it is well-priced.

According to Counterpoint Research, ₹10,000-₹20,000 is the most popular price segment in India for tablets. It covers more than half of the total tablet market in the region.

The key players in this segment are Lenovo and Samsung. The former’s Tab M8 and Tab M10 are some of the hottest products.

However, none of these Lenovo tablets or the Galaxy A series tablets from Samsung can be considered value for money. They offer an inferior set of specs for the asking price.

Realme tried to shake the market with the introduction of Realme Pad late last year. The company’s first-ever tablet provides better hardware than the competitors. Despite debuting around the last quarter of 2021, the brand managed to grab a 4% market share.

Now, the company is gearing up to launch the Realme Pad X in the country after releasing the Realme Pad Mini last month. The brand’s third tablet for the region will reportedly go official in the first half of June.

The Realme Pad X starts at ¥1,299 in China for 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The price roughly translates to ₹15,000. If the brand manages to price it below ₹20,000 in India, then it could be a stellar option for consumers.

Because unlike other tablets under ₹20,000 in India, the Realme Pad X houses a faster chipset. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC, the same chip that’s found inside smartphones like Realme 9 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G.

On other hand, most of the tablets from other brands are powered by entry-level Mediatek chips. As a result, these tablets are slower and age quickly.

Further, the Pad X from Realme supports 33W fast charging, DC dimming, and stylus input (optional accessory). It also houses Dolby Atmos-supported quad speakers and a front-facing camera with Apple’s Center Stage-like feature.

The aforementioned features cannot be found on any other tablet under ₹20,000 in India. Hence, they make the Realme Pad X stand out in the crowd.

Hopefully, Realme ships the tablet with the Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 for Pad (a fork of ColorOS 12 for Pad found on Oppo tablets) like in China. Because the two international tablets from the company run a near-stock version of Android with no special features like PC Connect.

Having said that, if the starting price of Realme Pad X crosses ₹20,000 in India, then it would be a tough sell. Because the Xiaomi Pad 5 offers even better value for ₹26,999 or less depending on discounts.

Last week, Realme launched a new tablet in the Chinese market dubbed the Realme Pad X. The tablet was later teased to launch in India, however, no specific date or launch timeline was revealed.

Now, a 91mobiles report has revealed the launch timeline, colors, and storage options of the Indian variant of the tablet. According to the report, the Realme Pad X will launch in India in the first half of June. The slate will come in three color variants namely Glacier Blue, Racing Green, and Glowing Grey. Coming to the storage options, Realme will offer the tablet in two configurations: 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Realme Pad X Specs

The Pad X comes with an 11-inch LCD display offering 2K resolution. The panel is capable of 450 nits peak brightness, DC dimming, and 16.7 million colors.

The slate is powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset which brings along the Adreno 619 GPU. As mentioned above, the tablet will come with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The tablet offers WiFi and Bluetooth for connectivity and boots Realme UI 3.0 for Pad based on Android 12.

For optics, the Pad X has a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel 105° front-facing front camera. It offers a big 8,340mAh battery with 33W fast charging and has Stylus support. Other features include a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio and software features like PC Connect, split-view, and Apple’s center stage-like functionality on the front camera.
