Design

The Realme Q3 and Q3 Pro adopt almost similar designs with just a few differences. Thanks to the five-axis laser engraving technology, the models arrive with a bright and shiny matte back panel that doesn’t retain fingerprints. The two models are available in different hues. While the Q3 comes in psychedelic silver and sci-fi black, while the Q3 Pro is available in three colors: electric blue, gravitational black, and firefly. The firefly color uses high-efficiency light-storing materials which cause the Dare To Leap to glow in the dark just like a Firefly.

In a series of posts, realme confirms features like MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset, 120Hz display, and VC liquid cooling on the realme Q3 series. While the company hasn’t explicitly mentioned which one will get these, there are chances that more than one of them will have some of these features.

realme Q3 series is expected to include the realme Q3, Q3 Pro, and looking at the past, the realme Q2 and Q2 Pro both featured Dimensity 800U chipset. The realme Q2 had a 120Hz LCD display whereas the Q2 Pro had an AMOLED panel.

Besides this, Digital Chat Station on Weibo has leaked the AnTuTu scores of the realme Q3 Pro. The device, likely codenamed RMX2205, has obtained a 677,177 overall score on the AnTuTu benchmark making it one of the best in the segment.

Speaking of the segment, realme is already teasing the price as 1,000 yuan and if launched at that price, the device would be a stunner as it has a 64MP triple-camera on the back and probably includes a screen fingerprint reader, a 4,500mAh battery, 65W rapid charging, and Android 11 OS.

And going by the realme President, China, Xu Qi’s recent post on Weibo, we can expect it as early as next week. Today, he has also shared a picture that shows a fluorescent “glow in the dark” logo on it.

In a Weibo post, Xu Qi shared a GIF image to say what will appear on the back of the device. We cannot quite catch its design but what is visible is that the device has a big DARE TO LEAP logo on the back. This seems to be coated with Phosphorescent paint to make it glow in the dark scenarios.

We have already seen fluorescent back panels on realme devices and the recent one is the realme 8 Pro illuminating yellow variant. For the unware, Phosphorescent paint is made from phosphors such as silver-activated zinc sulfide or doped strontium aluminate.

That said, the material is just a guess from our side and realme hasn’t confirmed what it has used on the back panel so let’s wait for official info.

Anyway, the realme Q3 is shaping out to be a pretty exciting device to look at not just the outside but inside as well. The device is said to feature MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset on the inside.

The realme Q series is generally focused on budget users and the predecessor realme Q2 series is an example of it. The realme Q3 is likely to continue that and feature a 120Hz display, 4,500mAh battery, and ship with a 65W charger in the box just like its predecessor.

realme has already said that the new realme Q series will strike a balance between price and performance. This goes in line with the price rumors which is said to be within 2,000 yuan($300). Let’s wait till next week to find out more.
