Realme UI 3.0 open beta program for Realme X3 commences

Back in June 2020, Realme launched the Realme X3 smartphone equipped with Android 10-based Realme UI. In May of last year, the smartphone got its Android 11 update, and now, it is due for an Android 12 update.

The brand has officially begun the Realme UI 3.0 open beta testing process for the Realme X3 smartphone. To participate in the open beta testing, users can navigate to Settings > Software Update and tap on the settings icon in the top right corner > Trial Version > Submit your details > Apply Now. Make sure that your device is on version RMX2081_11.C.13 / RMX2081_11.C.14 before applying for the open beta.

Realme has listed some must read points before opting for the update which is mentioned below.

Please make sure your phone is not rooted.
To prevent data loss, please backup your personal data before proceeding.
Some third-party application versions might not be compatible with Android 12 yet, after updating these applications might not be available or crashing down on your device. Therefore, it is recommended to update all your applications to the latest version available in the Play Store before your update.
The Open Beta versions may have an unpredictable impact on your phone and effect on daily use.
Please ensure that the available phone storage is more than 5GB. Otherwise, there will be a risk of update failure (To check the phone storage head to Settings > Additional Settings > Storage).

The common issues faced with the current build are longer boot time after the update and slight hanging and faster power consumption after the first boot.

Recently, Realme rolled out an early access Android 12-based Realme UI 3.0 build for their budget-friendly Realme C25 devices, and now, the brand has announced Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta for three popular devices.

In a recent Tweet, Realme India announced that the Realme UI 3.0 Open Betas has now been made available for the Realme X7 Max 5G, the Realme GT Neo 2, and Realme GT Master Edition.

Users of these devices can now try out the Android 12 based custom skin before its stable release by participating in the Beta program. To join the Open Beta program, follow the instructions given below.

Make sure you update your device to the software version specified in the Open Beta announcement post for your device.
After installing the update, navigate to the Software Update section in the device settings and tap on the settings cog in the top right corner
Tap on the Trial version on the following page and then select the Open Beta option
Tap on the Apply now button on the next page and then provide all the required details to complete your application
If your application passes Realme’s review process, you should receive the Realme UI 3.0 Open Beta release via an OTA update

Before installing the Beta update, make sure that your device is not rooted, has at least 5GB of storage free, and has at least 60 percent battery charge. Making a backup of your data is also advised to avoid data loss in case of technical difficulty. Also be warned that since its a Beta build, it might contain some bugs, and might some third-party apps might not work properly on the beta build.

realme X7 Max 5G gets Android 12 via Early Access program

Smartphones sold by realme run realme UI based on Android. This software is nothing but a tweaked version of ColorOS. Hence, as soon as OPPO unveiled the Android 12-based ClolorOS 12, realme too announced its own version of the software dubbed as realme UI 3.0. The aforementioned latest iteration of realme UI is now available for the realme X7 Max 5G.

realme X7 Max 5G (aka realme GT Neo 5G)

According to an official announcement post on realme Community (via XDA Developers), anyone with the realme X7 Max 5G can try out the new realme UI 3.0 based on Android 12.

In order to do so, interested users will have to enroll in the ‘Eary Access’ (beta) program started by the brand on December 10 (yesterday). The only requirement is that the phone should be on firmware version RMX3031_11.A.21.

Users with the required software build need to go through Settings > Software Update > Gear Icon > Trial Version > Apply Now and follow the on-screen instructions. Applicants who get selected will receive the beta version of realme UI 3.0 via OTA.

The brand clearly states that there are only limited seats, however, it will be recruiting multiple batches of testers. Nonetheless, it is recommended to register early if the user is really interested in using the new software, albeit with bugs and compatibility issues.

Since realme does not provide a timeline for stable releases, the availability of Android 12-based realme UI 3.0 for the general users of realme X7 Max 5G is a mystery.
