Last week, Realme launched a few products in China at a launch event, including the company’s first so-calling gaming smartphone dubbed as Realme X50 Pro Player Edition. As the name indicates, it’s an upgraded variant of the X50 Pro.

Today, the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition officially went on sale in China. It seems that the company is launching just two variants today — 8GB RAM and 12GB RAM. The base model with 6GB RAM is scheduled to go on sale from 16th June. At the time of writing this (1:30 PM local time in China), the device appears to have been sold out on JD.com.

As for the pricing of the smartphone, the base model with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at 2,699 yuan (~$380) while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version costs 2,999 yuan (~$423). The top-end variant with 12GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at 3,299 yuan which is about $465.

The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition shares the same design with the X50 Pro 5G which was recently launched in Europe. It has a 3D curved glass, curved waistline, and new upgraded coating technology, which not only has a higher value but also provides a better grip.

It comes with a 6.44-inch 20:9 Samsung E3 AMOLED HDR10+ display with 2400 x 1800 pixels screen resolution, dual punch-hole, support for a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 92 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor with LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. There’s also a Gaming VC liquid cooling system to prevent the phone from heating up during extreme usage.

In the optics department, the smartphone features a dual-camera setup on the front and a quad-camera setup at the back. There’s a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

On the front side, it features a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The smartphone comes with features like stereo dual speakers, Dolby and Hi-Res audio, super shock linear motor, customized 4D gaming shock, and Hyperboost full speed gaming mode, among others.

The device also supports 5G dual-model full Netcom and Wi-Fi 6, along with utilizing a 360° surround antenna design. It runs the Android 10 operating system with Realme UI on top and is powered by a 4,200mAh battery that has support for 65W SuperDart flash charge.

Realme first unveiled the Ralme X50 Pro in China in March 2020. Barely two months after the company has launched a new game-focused variant dubbed Realme X50 Pro Player Edition. The smartphone was part of a series of products unveiled today by the company.

The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition shares the same design with the X50 Pro 5G which recently made an entry to the European market.  It features a 3D curved glass, curved waistline, and new upgraded coating technology, which not only has a higher value but also provides better grip.

The new model packs a 6.44-inch 20:9 Samsung E3 AMOLED display with dual punch-hole and support for 90Hz refresh rate. The display has a resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels and also supports 180Hz touch sampling rate, is HDR 10+ certified and brings 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The punch-hole design enables the phone to achieve a 92% screen ratio.

The X50 Pro Player Edition is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor paired with 6GB/ 8GB/ 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage across the board. The phone features a 4200mAh battery and also has support for 65W SuperDart flash charge. You also get the Gaming VC liquid cooling system to prevent the smartphone from heating up during extreme use.

In terms of the camera, The X50 Pro Player Edition is equipped with a dual-camera setup at the front and a Quad-camera setup at the back. The main camera is a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor teaming up with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, as well as a portrait lens and a. Te camera support AI colorful mode, Super Night Scene 3.0, UIS Max super video stabilization, real-time blur and slow-motion video. The front camera has a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens and a portrait lens.

The X50 Pro Player also has stereo dual speakers, supports Dolby and Hi-Res audio, super shock linear motor, customized 4D gaming shock, Hyperboost full speed gaming mode. In terms of network connectivity, the phone utilises a 360° surround antenna and supports 5G dual-mode full Netcom and Wi-Fi 6.

In terms of the pricing, the Real X50 Pro Player Edition 6GB + 128GB version is priced at 2699 yuan (~$380). The 8GB + 128GB version goes for 2999 yuan (~$423) while the top-end 12GB  128GB variant is priced at 3299 yuan (~$465).

The Player Edition has an HDR10+ compliant display and it carries support for DCI-P3 color gamut. It delivers a peak brightness of 1,100nits. The presence of E3 luminescent material will reduce the power consumption by the display by 7 percent.

Earlier today (19th May 2020), Realme officially announced the new Realme X50 Pro Player Edition. This version is equipped with certain gaming centric features like VC liquid cooling, a HyperBoost gaming mode, and even a new vibrating motor.

The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition is the fourth entry in the Chinese company’s flagship series and will arrive with top notch specs for the best gaming experience. According to the company’s official teasers, a few features have been revealed. It will house a new Tactile Engine, basically a new vibrating motor, which will likely to replicate the gaming console controllers vibrating motors.

Past reports have revealed that the model number of the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition is RMX2072. The smartphone has now surfaced on TENAA with full specifications. Also, Realme took to Weibo that the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform power Realme X50 Pro Player Edition has LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The TENAA listing of the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition has basically the same specs as the Realme X50 Pro. The gaming version has downgraded cameras compared to the original X50 Pro.

The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition can be seen in red color in TENAA images. Apart from red, the handset may arrive in dark black and silver-white colorways in China. The smartphone weighs 209 grams and its dimensions are 159 x 74.2 x 8.9mm.

The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition has a 6.44-inch AMOLED display that supports Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. There is a dual punch-hole at the upper-left corner of the device. It houses a 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual selfie camera system. The Realme X50 Pro has a 32-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual selfie camera setup.

The Realme X50 family already has three members. There is the Realme X50 Pro 5G, the Realme X50 5G, and the Realme X50m 5G. Yesterday, we reported that a fourth model called the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition is launching in a few weeks. A new leak has now revealed the full spec sheet of the upcoming phone.

The spec sheet was posted on Weibo by @Digital Chat Station and it shows that the device will come with downgraded cameras compared to the Realme X50 Pro 5G.

The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition will have a 6.44-inch screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 2400 x 1080 resolution. The display will also have a double punch hole for two front-facing cameras.

Just like the Realme X50 Pro, the Player Edition will also have a Snapdragon 865 processor inside it. The leaker adds that it will pack 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

Coming to the cameras, which is where the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition differs from the Realme X50 Pro, we have a 16MP + 2MP dual camera configuration in front, a downgrade from the 32MP + 8MP of the Realme X50 Pro.

The number of rear cameras remains unchanged, so you still get four sensors. However, the primary camera is a 48MP sensor, and there is no telephoto camera. However, the ultrawide angle camera is an 8MP sensor and you have two 2MP sensors.

There is a 4200mAh battery inside the device and it packs support for 65W fast charge. The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition will weigh 209 grams and measure 159 x 74.2 x 8.9 millimeters.

With respect to price, the phone is expected to sell for ¥3299 (~$465).

Realme said the phone will be announced on May 25 along with seven other products. We expect these other products include the Realme TV and the Realme Smartwatch too.

Recent reports have revealed that Realme is working on a gaming-focused smartphone for China. The handset is codenamed as Blade Runner and is set to go official on May 25 alongside other products in the home market. Initial speculations suggested that it could be the new Realme X3 Pro smartphone. However, a Chinese tipster had recently claimed that the Blade Runner phone will be debuting as a gaming edition of the Realme X50 Pro flagship phone that was announced earlier this year. Today, Realme officially confirmed that the smartphone is named as Realme X50 Pro Player Edition.

The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition bears resemblance with the Realme X50 Pro smartphone. The latter is available in dark colors such as Moss Green and Rust Red. Both colors have a matte finish. In comparison, the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition has a gradient design and has a light shade.

Nothing is known yet on the gaming capabilities of the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition. The handset has passed 3C certification through which it has been known that its retail package may include a 65W fast charger. The rest of the specs of the Player Edition could be identical with the original X50 Pro. The handset may come with some improvements for a better gaming experience.

The May 25 launch event in China is expected to unleash multiple products. Some of the rumored Realme devices to go official at the event are Realme X3 series, Realme TV, Realme Watch, Realme Wireless Buds Pro, and a new power bank.
