Flipkart is currently running its Carnival sale on its e-commerce portal. The sale has some major discounts and deals on smartphones and other gadgets. Realme’s premium X7 and X7 Pro 5G are also a part of this sale and the phones have received a limited period price cut in the country.

According to news, the Realme X7 and X7 Pro have received up to ₹3,000(~$41) price cut on Flipkart. The Realme X7 5G usually retails for ₹ 21,999(~$302) but in the sale, it is available for as low as ₹19,999(~$274). On the other hand, the Pro model which starts at ₹29,999(~$411) is now on sale for an affordable price of ₹26,999(~$370). These phones will be available in all of their colors like the Nebula, Space Silver, Fantasy, and Mystic Black.

The Realme X7 comes with a 6.4-inch SuperAMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. The X7 Pro, on the other hand, features a 6.55-inch SuperAMOLED display with a higher 120Hz refresh rate. The duo has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass. The Pro has a 64MP rear camera setup, whereas, the vanilla model has a 64MP triple rear camera system.

Under the hood, the X7 has the Dimensity 800U SoC and the X7 Pro is powered by the Dimensity 1000+ chipset. The vanilla model features a 50W fast charging support, whereas, the Pro has 65W fast charging technology. The series boots on Android 11 out of the box with Realme’s custom UI on top of it.

The realme X7 sold in India is a rebranded realme V15 5G. This handset was launched in early February. Despite releasing in 2021, it debuted with realme UI based on Android 10. Six months later, the smartphone has finally started receiving Android 11-based realme UI 2.0 stable update in the country.

The realme X7 got the Android 11 beta update in May. Hence, it took the brand three months to deliver the stable update.

The realme UI 2.0 stable update for the realme X7 in India is being rolled out with firmware version RMX3092_11.C.05. It is only available for users who are on the firmware version RMX2176PU_11.A.14, RMX2176PU_11.A.16, RMX2176PU_11.A.17, RMX2176PU_11.A.18, or RMX2176PU_11.A.20.

Above all, the latest system update for the phone is being seeded out in batches like any other OTA software update. Therefore, some users may receive it earlier than others, while some may have to wait a bit longer.

Having said that, users not satisfied with the latest version of realme UI can roll back to the previous version by installing the rollback package. However, unlike the update process, the rollback process will wipe the device’s internal storage.

Lastly, since realme X7 is a new smartphone and has only received one major software update so far, it should be also eligible for Android 12.

Realme unveiled the X7 series last year with flagship-like specs at affordable pricing. Now, the upcoming Realme X9, the successor to the X7 series, has arrived on multiple certifications, hinting for a launch closer than expected.

A smartphone with model number RMX3361 appeared on TENAA and China’s 3C confirming key specs. It is said to be the upcoming Realme X9 smartphone from the series. The documentation reveals that the device will launch with a 6.43-inch display. It is expected to be a thin-bezel AMOLED panel.

Inside, the smartphone is said to pack a 4,200mAh battery cell with some sort of fast charging technology. The listing reveals the dimensions of the phone to be 159.2 x 73.5 x 8.0mm.

Another device from the series dubbed the Realme X9 Pro with model number RMX3381 arrived at Russia’s EEC certification, revealing major specs.

The Realme X9 Pro is touted to come with a 6.55-inch curved display. It is expected to be a Super AMOLED panel with a high refresh rate. In terms of optics, the smartphone will feature a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary lens, a 16MP IMX481 ultra-wide sensor, and lastly a 2MP B&W sensor.

Under the hood, it is expected to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone is expected to have a slightly larger battery of 4,500mAh. It should support 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging technology.

Chinese handset maker realme launched the realme X7 in India in early February alongside the realme X7 Pro. Unlike the original model sold in China, the one that’s available in India is a rebranded realme V15 5G. Despite releasing in 2021, this device debuted with realme UI based on Android 10. Now, three months after its release, limited users of this smartphone can finally taste Android 11.

In March, realme revealed that both realme X7 and realme X7 Pro will receive realme UI 2.0 Early Access update in Q2 2021. As promised, the brand delivered the update to the latter handset last month and now the company has opened registrations for the former phone as well.

According to the official announcement post on realme Community, realme X7 users should be running either of these software builds to enroll themselves for the Early Acess Program.

If interested users are on any of the above firmware, they can head over to Settings > Software Update > Gear Icon > Trial Version > Apply Now and submit details to register themselves for the Android 11-based realme UI 2.0 Early Access initiative.

Once get selected, the company will be rolling out the beta software build via OTA. If users are not satisfied with the experience, they can roll back to Android 10 but that process will wipe their device’s internal storage.

realme announced the realme UI 2.0 and the realme X50 Pro flagship was the first to get the early access back in September 2020. Today, the company has revealed the early access roadmap for Q2 2021.

Back in September, when the early access roadmap was announced, realme showed a holistic list of devices and the timeline of the updates. Well, today, the update is specifically for the list of devices that are getting the update in respective months during Q2 2021. Let’s take a look at it below:

Apart from Q2, as confirmed earlier, realme has briefly teased that from Q3 2021, i.e from July, realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G and Narzo 30A will start getting the realme UI 2.0 Beta builds.

Speaking of which, the realme Early Access programs typically means the Beta build of the UI. That is, users of the above smartphones will get the Android 11-based realme UI 2.0 Beta before the end of the said months.

The stable version will then be pushed at a later date which is currently unknown. Over the course of realme made the early access program live for narzo 20, realme 7, realme 6 Pro, narzo 20 Pro, and X2 Pro, realme 6i, realme narzo 10, and realme 7i.

The company has so far released a stable update of the realme UI 2.0 for only two devices- realme X50 Pro and realme Narzo 20.

At the moment, Xiaomi, Realme, and OPPO are the most interesting brands in the global market when it comes to budget phones. The latest affordable phones released by these three brands embrace a lot of price segments: today, we want to talk about the midrange. The Redmi Note 10 was recently announced in the Indian market with the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max as the most advanced variant of the lineup. If you need the most advanced display, then you should go for the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max without thinking twice. First of all, it has a high refresh rate: up to 120 Hz, while Realme X7 5G and OPPO F19 Pro come with a standard refresh rate. Further, it has the HDR10 certification for better image quality on streaming platforms, as well as a higher 1200 nits peak brightness. There is no challenge: besides being a wider panel, the display of the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is superior. However, you still get a very good experience with the AMOLED panels found on the Realme X7 5G and the OPPO F19 Pro.

Hardware/Software

The hardware king here is the Realme X7 5G. It is the only one to feature 5G connectivity and it has a stronger processor: the Dimensity 800U by MediaTek, which is actually comparable to the Snapdragon 765G by Qualcomm. The chipset is paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage. Right after, we got the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max powered by the Snapdragon 732G paired with up to 8 GB of RAM and UFS 2.2 native storage. The OPPO F19 Pro has the weakest chipset: the Helio P95. All the phones run Android 11 out of the box.

Camera

The camera of the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is actually superior thanks to a 108 MP main sensor. With the Realme X7 5G you get an inferior 64 MP main camera, while the OPPO F19 Pro has an even worse 48 MP sensor. None of these devices is a camera phone, but the closest one to a real camera phone is Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. It even comes with a better 5 MP macro camera. When it comes to selfies, Realme X7 5G wins with its 32 MP front snapper.

Battery

Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is the best even when it comes to battery life, thanks to its bigger 5020 mAh battery. But the Realme X7 5G is able to charge faster thanks to 65W fast charging technology.

The starting price of the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is Rs. 19999, Realme X7 5G begins from the same price, while OPPO F19 Pro starts from Rs. 21,490. If we only consider the specifications (and not the design) it makes no sense to choose OPPO F19 Pro with these prices. The Realme X7 5G is the best for those who care about 5G and performance, but Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is the best overall because it features a better display, cameras, and battery.

The new Narzo 30 series recently hitten the Indian shelves with three variants: the most powerful of them is the Narzo 30 Pro 5G, which is also the only 5G phone from the series. It belongs to the midrange segment and offers a very high value for money, but is it actually the highest? In order to understand this, we decided to compare it to two other amazing mid-rangers, one of which is equipped with 5G connectivity: the POCO X3 by Xiaomi and the Realme X7, both available in the Indian market.

Realme Narzo 30 Pro vs Xiaomi Poco X3 vs Realme X7

Design

If you mind having a beautiful phone with an attractive design, go for the Realme X7. You should go for it because it is actually thinner, lighter, and more compact than Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G and POCO X3. The aesthetics are very similar to the Realme Narzo 30 Pro but given that the Narzo is thicker and bigger, it is also less attractive. The POCO X3 does not come with an amazing design, but it offers a great build quality. Its frame is made of aluminum and the phone has the IP53 certification which makes it dust resistant and splash resistant. Further, its front glass is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

Display

Despite it comes with a standard refresh rate, the best display belongs to the Realme X7 for a simple reason: it has an AMOLED panel. AMOLED displays are able to show more brilliant colors and deeper blacks. The phone is also equipped with an in-display fingerprint reader allowing for a more comfortable unlock. The Realme Narzo 30 Pro has a 120 Hz display just like the POCO X3, but a higher refresh rate does not stand for better image quality. You can get a smoother viewing experience, but the quality of these IPS displays is actually lower if you compare them to the Realme X7.

Specs & Software

The POCO X3 NFC is inferior when it comes to the hardware department because its chipset, the Snapdragon 732G, is actually less powerful than the Mediatek Dimensity 800U found on the Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G and the Realme X7. But the most important difference between the two chipsets is 5G: with the Snapdragon 732G, you do not get 5G connectivity, while you do with the Dimensity 800U. All the phones are based on Android 10 and run a highly-customized user interface. Further, they all pack up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage.

Camera

On the paper, the Realme X7 looks like the device with the best camera setup. On the rear side, it has a 64 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a pair of 2 MP sensors for macros and depth. Last but not least, a great 32 MP selfie snapper.

Battery

The POCO X3 has the biggest battery and, given that the components are similar to the Realme Narzo 30 Pro in terms of energy consumption, it should provide a longer battery life. The Realme X7 has a smaller 4300 mAh battery, but it charges faster with its 65W fast charging technology.

Price

Realme Narzo 30 Pro is priced Rs. 18,799 / $257, POCO X3 costs Rs. 16,999 / $232, and Realme X7 starts from Rs. 19,999 / $273. Given that it does not support 5G, the POCO X3 is not the smartest choice for everyone. The Realme X7 is for those who love the camera and display quality, while Realme Narzo 30 Pro provides a longer battery life. Overall, the Realme X7 is more interesting (but also costlier) and it wins the comparison.

Earlier last month, realme launched the realme X7 series in India consisting of two smartphones, namely realme X7 and realme X7 Pro. Despite getting released in February 2021, these phones debuted with realme UI based on Android 10. Now, a month after their announcement, the brand has finally revealed when these handsets will be updated to Android 11 (realme UI 2.0).

Both the realme X7 and realme X7 Pro sold in India are 5G smartphones powered by MediaTek SoCs. The former is a rebranded realme V15 5G, whereas the latter is the original device that was released in China last year.

These phones start at ₹19,999 and go up to ₹29,999. In other words, they are expensive than the Indian smartphone market’s average ASP. But that’s fine as these devices not only offer 5G but also other goodies.

However, India does not have 5G networks. Even if the latest mobile networks go live by the end of 2021, it may take years to reach most parts of the country. Hence, buyers of the realme X7 series will need to hold on to their handset for a long time.

But the problem is that realme X7 and realme X7 Pro may not get software support for that long. According to the updated realme UI 2.0 update timeline, these devices will start receiving Android 11 beta builds only in Q2 2021. 

So that could be anytime from April to June. This means the stable update will be rolling out even later. Considering these factors, we can expect realme to provide one more major update in the form of Android 12 (or realme UI 3.0).

Hence, basically, users only get to experience a single new Android release. Hopefully, realme or any other brands for that matter stop launching new smartphones with older software.

Last week, it announced the Helio M80, its first modem with support for mmWave, the high frequency 5G spectrum which is faster but has a shorter range. This means we should see new chipsets with support for both mmWave and Sub-6GHz networks from the chipset manufacturer in the near future.

After teasing for quite a white, realme has finally launched the realme X7 series in India. The series consists of two devices, namely realme X7 and realme X7 Pro. Interestingly, the brand did not bring the original X7 to India. Instead, it rebranded the recently released realme V15 5G as realme X7 for the country. With that being said, let us take a look at the specs, features, price, and availability of these handsets.

realme X7/X7 Pro Specifications and Features

Design

The realme X7 series looks like any other realme smartphone with a vertically aligned camera setup on the back and colorful gradient finishes. The duo also features the brand’s slogan (DARE TO LEAP) on their real panel. However, the panel of the regular realme X7 is made of polycarbonate instead of glass as on the realme X7 Pro.

As for colors, the realme X7 can be bought in either Nebula or Space Silver, whereas the realme X7 Pro is sold in Fantasy and Mystic Black versions.

Display

The vanilla realme X7 sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a punch-hole at the top left corner. This panel comes with a 60Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, 600 nits peak brightness, in-screen fingerprint sensor, 20:9 aspect ratio, 90.8% screen-to-body ratio, and 1000000:1 contrast ratio.

On the other hand, the realme X7 Pro flaunts a 6.55-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 1200 nits peak brightness. Other parameters of this screen include an in-display fingerprint sensor, punch-hole on the top left side, 20:9 aspect ratio, 91.6% screen-to-body ratio, a 6000000:1 contrast ratio, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 103% NTSC color gamut, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Internals

Although both The realme X7 and realme X7 Pro come with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 internal storage, the chipsets are different on the two. The Pro model is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, whereas the regular model has a less powerful MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset and it maxes out at 128GB internal storage but the maximum amount of RAM is 8GB.

Further, both of them feature a similar set of sensors, such as a compass, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and accelerometer. However, although the duo runs the same Android 10-based realme UI operating system, the realme X7 is backed by a smaller 4,310mAh battery with support for 50W fast charging as opposed to a larger 4,500mAh battery in the realme X7 Pro that can charge at a rate of 65W.

Talking about optics, the realme X7 Pro houses a quad-camera setup on the back consisting of a 64MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor with a 119° ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP tertiary sensor with a macro lens (4cm), and a 2MP quaternary monochrome sensor for portrait shots. Whereas, selfies and video calls are taken care of by a 32MP front-facing shooter.

The realme X7, on the other hand, sports a triple camera setup on the back that includes a 64MP primary sensor paired with an 8MP ultra-wide unit (119°) and a 2MP macro snapper. Further, on the front, it features a 16MP camera for video calls and selfies.

As far as video recording is concerned, the cheaper model maxes out at 4K 30fps and 720 240fps slow-motion from the rear camera and 1080p 30fps and 1010 120fps slow-motion from the front camera. However, the costlier model can also record at 4K 60fps from the back camera.

Connectivity and Ports

The realme X7 series support 5G although the networks are not live in India. Both the devices come with a dual-SIM card slot, dual-band WiFi, and GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, GALILEO, QZSS). 

However, the realme X7 Pro not only has WiFi 6 but also NFC as compared to only WiFi 5 on the realme X7. But the former comes with Bluetooth 5.0 instead of Bluetooth 5.1 as found in the latter.

Anyway, both of them sport a USB Type-C port and lack a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as a microSD card slot. Additionally, the Pro model also comes with dual stereo speakers.

Last but not least, these smartphones are also part of Flipkart’s Upgrade program in collaboration with the realme Upgrade Plan. Hence, interested customers can get these phones for 70% of their cost and upgrade to a newer realme X series smartphone a year later by paying 70% of its price.

Itel A47

This is an entry-level phone with modest specs and Android Go, so it should be great for those on a very slim budget or those who are grabbing their first smartphone.

POCO M3 heading to India

The POCO M3 was announced in Europe last November and became popular instantly thanks to its design, specifications, and low price tag. Now, two months after, POCO has announced it will launch it in India on February 2. We expect the phone to sell out pretty fast when it goes on sale.

Samsung Galaxy M02

Realme X7 series

All of the new week’s product launches are happening in India but there is a chance we may see other products get announced in other regions during the week.

Realme has been teasing the arrival of Realme X7 series in India since December. Hence, it was speculated that the company may announce it in the country at some point in January. Finally, the company began sending out invites for Realme X7 series launch event starting from today in India. The invite confirms that the Realme X7 lineup will land in India on Feb. 4.

The launch invites states that the Realme X7 series launch event will be held at 12:30 PM (local time) on Feb. 4 in India. The event will be streamed through YouTube and other social media accounts. To recollect, the Dimensity 800U powered Realme X7 and Dimensity 1000+ powered Realme X7 Pro was made official first in China in September last year.

As it can be seen in Ishan Agarwal’s tweet, the launch invite includes a MediaTek chip with MT6853V text on it. The “TN” identifier mentioned on it is a giveaway that one of the Realme phones debuting on Feb. 4 in India is fueled by the Dimensity 800U. Hence, it appears that the Realme X7 could be landing in India as the company’s first Dimensity 800U powered smartphone in the country.

The Realme X7 has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display and a 4,300mAh battery. It has a 32-megapixel selfie camera and a 64-megapixel (Samsung GW1) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) + 2-megapixel (depth) rear-mounted quad-camera system.

The Realme X7 Pro has a 6.55-iinch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 4,500mAh battery. It is fitted with the same cameras that are found on the X7 model. However, it features a Sony IMX682 lens as the primary shooter. Both phones support 65W fast charging and are fitted with in-screen fingerprint sensors.

Realme has been teasing the arrival of the Realme X7 series for several weeks in India. However, it has been silent on its launch date. It appears that the unveiling date of the X7 lineup will finally go official soon as its landing page has surfaced on Flipkart.

The Realme X7 series launch date is not mentioned on Flipkart. It only asks fans to guess the name of the upcoming X-series phone for India. A recent leak claimed that the Realme is planning to launch the Realme X7 series in India on Feb. 4.

Another leak revealed that the Realme X7 will be arriving in two options such as 6 GB RAM and 8 GB RAM. Both models will have 128 GB of native storage and the handset will be sold in Nebula and Space Silver color options. The Realme X7 Pro is expected to come with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It could be available in Mystic Black and Fantasy. The leak has no information on the pricing of the Realme X7 and X7 Pro.

It is a well-known fact that realme is bringing the X7 series to India. However, recent teasers by the company suggest that it might rebrand the V15 from China as realme X7 in India. Ahead of an expected February 4 launch, colors and memory variants of the devices have now been leaked.

First off, Madhav Sheth, CEO of realme India and Europe, tweeted the image of the upcoming realme X7 in India. Looking at the image, we can say that the device is mostly the realme V15 5G that launched recently in China. To affirm this, the device has already received India’s BIS certification as well.

Either way, realme is yet to announce the launch event officially. A mistakenly posted tweet by a Blogger earlier today showed February 4, 2021 as the launch date. The invitation also had the MT6853VTNZA on it teasing the Dimensity 800U chipset on the realme X7.

This and Madhav’s teasers almost confirms the specs of realme X7 in India. Accordingly, it will feature a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.1 storage, 64MP triple-camera, 16MP selfie shooter, no 3.5m jack/microSD slot, 4,310mAh battery with 50W charging.

Although the company hasn’t tweeted much about the X7 Pro, it should most likely retain the specs and design from the Chinese variant.

Chinese smartphone maker realme has been teasing to debut the realme X7 series in India for a very long time. However, the company is yet to officially announce the launch date. That said, earlier today, a well-known tech blogger in the country tweeted an image of the launch invite mistakenly. However, he took down the post immediately. But thankfully,  a tipster was quick enough to download and reshare the picture on his profile.

The image of the realme X7 series India launch invite was shared on Twitter by Amit Bhawani, one of the popular tech bloggers in the country. According to this picture, realme will be launching the realme X7 and the realme X7 Pro in India on February 4, 2021.

Having said that, we would advise you to consider this information with a pinch of salt. Because this tweet was soon taken down and we are aware of this picture only because a tipster called Abhishek Yadav reshared it before the original post was deleted.

Anyway, we do think that February 4 could be the official Indian launch date for the realme X7 series. But since the brand is yet to officially announce it, we cannot tell that for sure.

In related news, Madhav Sheth, the CEO of realme India tweeted an image of realme X7 a few minutes after the above-mentioned incident. Going by the picture, the realme X7 that is set to release in India could be a rebranded realme V15 that was certified by BIS earlier this month.

realme is gearing up to launch the X7 series- realme X7 and realme X7 Pro in India. Ahead of an imminent launch event, the company’s India and Europe CEO Madhav Sheth has posted its box packaging designs. And it is confirmed to come with a charger inside.

Madhav Sheth, in a Tweet, posted the images of the prototype designs of the realme X7 series box packaging. Inside the picture, we can spot a lot of designs of X7, X7 Pro with Black, Silver, Yellow accents. One of the design(Third from Bottom Right) also represent C Color gradient of the X7 in China.

However, these are quite different from the box packaging of Chinese variant that came with a simple. While we wait for the launch to know which design made it to the final cut, Koustabh Das, Senior Communications Specialist, Realme, confirmed the in-box content.

He said in a tweet that the devices will come with a charger inside the box. This means you don’t need to purchase the 65W Dart Charging adapter that’s probably coming with the X7 series.

realme has confirmed the arrival but is yet to break the launch date of the realme X7 series in India. Speculations are rife that it would be unveiled early next week/First week of February.

Assuming that the company doesn’t make any changes from the China variant, we can expect the X7 and X7 Pro will feature 6.4 and 6.55-inch AMOLED 120Hz display respectively. Under the hood, X7 will feature Dimensity 800U chipset whereas Dimensity 1000+ will power the X7 Pro.

realme started the global journey of the X7 series with realme X7 Pro launch in Thailand. Later, the company confirmed that it’s bringing the series to India this year. And it has already started appearing on support pages. Now, the company has revealed the launch date of the ‘Pro’ variant in Malaysia.

In a Facebook post, realme Malaysia says that the realme X7 Pro 5G will debut in Malaysia on January 26. It’s worth noting that the company has explicitly mentioned the ‘Pro’ like Thailand and Taiwan. However, we can’t rule out the possibility of the company launching the non-Pro(i.e., realme X7) variant in the future.

Anyway, the launch event will happen at 12:00 PM MST(UTC+08:00). Surprisingly, the event will be happening via Facebook which means you can expect a live stream on the platform. Plus, realme Malaysia also said that realme Watch S Pro will accompany the X7 Pro on Jan. 26 event.

Thanks to the early China launch, we know what to expect from the realme X7 Pro Malaysian variant. We can already spot the Gradient color with that ‘DARE TO LEAP’ slogan etching on the realme Malaysia Poster page. The Chinese variant also has two other options- Black and Fantasy White colors.

The device features a 6.55-inch sAMOLED 120Hz FHD+ display and is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ SoC. This is paired with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 256 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. For cameras, we have a quad-camera setup with a 64MP main lens, an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro, and depth lenses. Upfront, there is a 32MP sensor inside the top-left punch-hole for selfies.

Other features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging, SA/NSA 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi, 4K video recording, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, stereo speakers, and more. It could run Realme UI based on Android 10 but with Android 11 already out, it will only be fair for realme to bring that to flagship.

With the iQOO U3 and the Redmi Note 9 5G, you actually get a slightly faster internal storage thanks to the UFS 2.2 technology. But the Redmi Note 9 5G offers more space: up to 256 GB. Further, Redmi Note 9 5G features expandable storage, while its rivals do not. All the phones run Android 10 with heavy customizations.

Camera

The Realme X7 packs the most advanced camera department. On the rear side, it sports a 64 MP main camera, an ultrawide 8 MP sensor, and a pair of 2 MP sensors for macros and depth calculation. Further, the handset features a better 32 MP front camera. The second place goes to the Redmi Note 9 5G featuring a 48 MP triple camera. Unfortunately, iQOO U3 lacks an ultrawide sensor and it offers a 48 MP dual camera: a disappointing thing for a phone released in 2020.

Battery

Redmi Note 9 5G is the battery champion with its 5000 mAh capacity. The iQOO U3 has a 5000 mAh battery as well, but it should provide an inferior battery life due to its higher refresh rate. The Realme X7 has a smaller 4300 mAh battery, but thanks to 65W fast charging it reaches 100% in less than 35 minutes.

Price

Vivo iQOO U3 is priced at about €200/$245 in its base variant, just like the Redmi Note 9 5G. For the Realme X7, you need at least €220/$270. The Realme X7 is the winner of this comparison thanks to its AMOLED display and better camera department. Right after, we got the Redmi Note 9 5G offering a micro SD slot and slightly better cameras. The Realme X7 series of smartphones with exciting and power-saving features have now been released in Thailand, as the brand makes inroads into the overseas market after the release of the X7 series in China on September 1. The Bangkok, Thailand rollout features, for now, only the Realme X7 Pro, while the other models in the lineup make their way into the global smartphone market.

The X7 Pro is already available at the leading Thai online stores. The option available presently is the single memory device and it comes in two color options – Black and Gradient.

The choice of the Thai market as the first overseas debut for the Realme X7 series is yet unclear but may be indicative of an emerging business direction for the Realme brand, as it seems to tap from previously untapped markets in growing the firm.

The Realme X7 Pro runs on a Dimensity 1000+ chipset with next-generation 5G support. The fact that Thailand is among a very small class of South Asian countries that have established a functional 5G infrastructure, although quite restricted, could also be a major factor leading to the overseas debut of the X7 Pro in that country. This means the super-fast functionality of 5G will be on display with the smartphone even though Thailand is just a budding upstart in the technology and its supporting network architecture.

Fast charging functionality is present (65W), it has a 64MP main camera that is bound to produce powerful and crisp visuals, a 6.55 inch AMOLED screen with a decent 120Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Chinese brand realme launched India’s first 5G smartphone in the form of realme X50 Pro in the first quarter of 2020. Last week, a popular Indian tech influencer claimed that realme may debut its X7 series of 5G smartphones in India in December. Then, earlier this week, Anku Jain, the Managing Director (MD) of MediaTek India hinted at the launch of these devices.

Now, Madhav Sheth, the CEO of realme India himself has confirmed that the realme X7 series will launch in 2021. Also, he revealed the brand’s plan to ‘democratize 5G technology in 2021’. That means realme will be launching more 5G smartphones next year in India, instead of only one handset like it did this year.

Anyway, users of these phones will not be able to use 5G as there’s no 5G network in India. Above all, the government is yet to auction spectrum for the fifth-generation wireless network.

So one might be wondering why realme is bringing 5G handsets to India. The answer is simple: the brand wants to be a forerunner by readying the market even before 5G arrives as India is one of the three largest smartphone markets in the world.

Another reason is that almost all Chinese brands have been only launching 5G smartphones in their home market since the beginning of 2020. This trend is expected to get stronger in the coming quarters. Hence, it does not make sense for the companies to invest in R&D for 4G phones.

Over the weekend, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore shared a screenshot that revealed that the Realme X7 Pro 5G (RMX2121 model number) has been approved by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in India. Also, leakster Mukul Sharma has claimed that the Realme X7 series will be launching in December.

It appears that Realme could become the first brand to launch Dimensity SoC powered phones in India by announcing the Realme X7 series.

Last week, the Realme RMX2173 and RMX2117 smartphones had surfaced in the database of China’s TENAA regulatory body with preliminary specifications. Rumors have that the Realme RMX2117 will break cover as a Q-series phone from the brand. The entire specs of the RMX2117 are now known since its TENAA listing is now updated with all important information. The RMX2173’s listing at TENAA has also been updated with its images and specs.

The RMX2173 model number indicated that it could be a variant of the recently unveiled Realme X7 phone that has a model number of RMX2176. Now that the TENAA listing of the Realme RMX2173 is updated, it is quite evident that the phone is a lower variant of the Realme X7. Hence, it is likely that the Realme RMX2173 may arrive in the Chinese markets as Realme X7 Youth or Realme X7 Lite. According to the official info provided, Realme listened to the users’ feedbacks in order to realize the Realme 7 series. But did it listen well? And which of the new mid-rangers by the company actually offers the highest value for money. Realme 7 vs Realme 7 Pro vs Realme X7

Design

Realme 7, Realme 7 Pro, and Realme X7 do not differ too much when it comes to aesthetics. They all feature a punch-hole display and a rectangle-shaped camera module on the rear side. I actually prefer the Realme X7 for a simple reason: it is thinner and lighter than Realme 7 and 7 Pro. At the same time, it is even more compact. And its Rainbow color variant with the big company slogan on the rear side is very original.

Display

AMOLED with a 60 Hz refresh rate or IPS at 90 Hz? Most people prefer the first option, that is why Realme decided to equip the Realme 7 Pro with an AMOLED panel which sports a standard refresh rate in order to keep the price affordable. You get the same with the Realme X7, while Realme 7 has a 90 Hz IPS display. If you want a better image quality, you should go either for the Realme 7 Pro or the X7: choose the 7 only if you do not care about having the best image quality and you need a smoother viewing experience (e.g. if you are a gamer).

Hardware/Software

The winner of the hardware comparison is the Realme X7. The Dimensity 800U by MediaTek is actually a more powerful chipset, but that is not all: the Realme X7 is also the only one to support 5G networks. But you should note that despite packing max 128 GB of internal storage, the X7 does not have a micro SD slot, while Realme 7 and 7 Pro do. Each of these devices runs Android 10 out of the box, customized by Realme UI just like all the other Realme phones launched in the last period.

Camera

Realme X7 and 7 Pro have exactly the same camera department including a 64 MP quad camera on the rear side and a 32 MP front camera. Realme 7 has the same rear cameras as well, but its front camera is an inferior 16 MP sensor. You should not focus so much on the cameras since you will get similar photo quality with these devices. They are all midrange camera phones, nothing special, but they can record 4K videos with their main camera and 1080p videos at 120 fps from the front camera.

Battery

Realme 7 packs a bigger 5000 mAh battery, but this does not necessarily mean that its battery life will be longer. It has a bigger battery, but its IPS display running at 90 Hz is more energy-demanding. Further, its processor is built with a less efficient production process (12 nm), while the Dimensity 800U found on the Realme x7 is built at 7 nm and the Snapdragon 720G of the Realme 7 Pro is built at 8 nm.

Price

Unfortunately, these three phones are yet to go global. Realme X7 starts from €220/$260 in China, Realme 7 costs €170/$200 in India, and Realme 7 Pro begins at €230/$272. While Realme 7 loses the fight from the beginning, it is not easy to pick a winner between Realme 7 Pro and Realme X7. On the paper, the Realme X7 looks more attractive due to 5G support (and I would probably pick the X7 for this reason) and a sleeker design, but it has a smaller battery.

However, the Chinese firm has not revealed any details on it yet, which suggests that it is unlikely to launch tomorrow. Interestingly, a Chinese tipster has claimed that the company will launch three phones tomorrow and all of them will be powered by MediaTek’s 5G chipsets. Hence, it appears that the company may launch the Realme V3 phone as its cheapest 5G phone.

The tipster also mentioned that one of the Realme phones with 5G support debuting tomorrow is priced at 1,000 Yuan (~$146). China’s TENAA telecom authority recently approved three new phones with model numbers RMX2176, RMX2121, and RMX2200 / RMX2201.

The RMX2176 model number belongs to the Realme X7 and the Realme X7 Pro’s model number is RMX2121. Hence, the third phone i.e. RMX2200 / RMX2201 which has weaker specs compared to the other two phones could be debuting as the most affordable 5G phone from the brand tomorrow. The Realme X7 Pro is said to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor while the X7 will be powered by a Dimensity 800U SoC. The prowess of the MediaTek mid-range SC has been showcased in a leaked AnTuTu benchmark screenshot which has emerged ahead of the launch.

The screenshot (via) shows the device was able to attain a benchmark score of 340,000. The score is pretty impressive for a mid-range chipset. It is in the same category as the Snapdragon 845 chipset which heralded the OnePlus 6 released in 2018. The phone is ranked higher than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G-powered OPPO Reno4 5G and the Helio P90-powered Reno3.

The RMX2176 Realme X7 has scored 596 and 1776 points respectively in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench. The smartphone runs on Android 10 OS and it has 8 GB of RAM. The phone is driven by a MediaTek octa-core processor that is mentioned as MT6853V/TNZA.

The product page sheds some light on the features that would be on the X7 Pro. Some of these features have already been revealed on earlier leaks but this is a confirmation. The focus is on the display which is promoted to come with 120Hz refresh rate with a peak brightness of 1200nits. The display also supports 4096-level brightness adjustment.

Further, the phone is said to adopt COP packaging technology. It has a narrow bezel at the bottom, weighs 175 grams, and uses the same adapter as the Realme V5.

While both phones have nearly identical designs, they sport an irresistible gradient colored rear.

The renders of the Realme X7 / X7 Pro smartphone show that the phone is equipped with quad cameras housed inside a rectangle-shaped camera module. In June, the Realme RMX2121 appeared in the database of TENAA with its images and some specs like dimensions, rated battery capacity, and display size. Recent reports confirmed that the Realme RMX2121 is the upcoming Realme X7 Pro smartphone. Finally, the TENAA listing of the handset has been updated with all its specifications.

Realme X7 Pro specifications

The Realme X7 Pro has 160.8 x 75.2 x 8.5mm dimensions and it weighs 184 grams. TENAA listing states that the phone will be arriving in three color options such as black, white, and purple.

China will be getting two new Realme phones on September 1. The phones are the Realme X7 and the Realme X7 Pro, and now the spec sheet of the latter has leaked.

The source is the Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station and he took to Weibo to reveal the full spec sheet of the upcoming smartphone.

The Realme X7 Pro is said to have a 6.55-inch display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. The panel is a flexible AMOLED panel supplied by Samsung that has a punch hole at the corner and a 120Hz refresh rate.

For the chipset inside the device, it is stated to have a 2.6GHz clock speed but its name is unknown. There are speculations that the processor is the Dimensity 1000+, the same one inside the Redmi K30 Ultra.

The hole in the display is home to a 32MP selfie camera while the back of the phone houses a quad-camera setup that includes a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, and two 2MP sensors.

The Realme X7 Pro, according to the leaker, will have a dual-cell battery with a combined capacity of 4500mAh and will support Realme’s 65W SuperDart Flash Charge fast charging technology. The device will weight 184 grams and will have a thickness of 8.5 millimeters.
