Nubia has announced its second gaming smartphone today. The Red Magic 2 will succeed the Red Magic released earlier this year. The new gaming phone packs a significant amount of upgrades.

The Nubia Red Magic 2 is powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at 2.8GHz. This is the chipset we expected to power the first one. It also has 10GB of LPDDR4X RAM, putting it on the still short list of phones with that amount of RAM. That generous amount of RAM is paired with an equally generous 256GB of  UFS 2.1 storage.

The Red Magic 2 uses a dual cooling system – Air + Liquid Cooling. This drops the CPU’s temperature to 13.2°C and increases CPU performance by up to 70%. There is DTS 7.1 surround sound, 3D stereo audio, AI noise canceling, DTSX Ultra and a SMART PA amplifier all for an impressive audio performance. There is also 4D gaming with real-time game scene recognition.

The phone runs Red Magic OS with Android 9 Pie underneath. There is a GameBoost mode that can be activated with a dedicated button. The RGB lights make a comeback and there are air triggers with touch sensors on the right side of the phone called Red Magic buttons.

There are still some unknown specs such as the screen, cameras, and battery capacity. Hopefully, those will be revealed at a later date.

The Red Magic 2 will also be crowdfunded like the original. It has already crossed its target of ¥1,000,000 by more than 200% even though the deadline is still December 6. If you are interested, head to the source link.

The phone is expected to start shipping a month after the crowdfunding ends. The crowdfunding price is ¥3888 (~$560) but we expect the phone to sell for a little more when it is available for purchase after a proper release.

The latest Nubian gaming smartphone will carry Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC (confirmed) onboard with some other outstanding features. Today, some new information has surfaced via new teasers on Weibo. Along with the high-end display and chipset, Red Magic 2 will also carry DTS (Digital Theater System) 7.1 system for unmatchable sound along with 3D surround. It is always believed that sound adds another dimension to the video, but DTS 7.1 makes it to another level. It removes unnecessary data from sound and outputs high fidelity sound. It appears like the launch date is nearing as Red Magic is teasing its extraordinary features on daily basis. In another teaser, Red Magic Weibo handle has confirmed the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Soc on board.

Further, it carries dual cooling systems (Air + Liquid) which will resist it from heating while continuously playing games. Nubia is bringing its new gaming smartphone with a 10GB of RAM, 4D shock features and customized LED light design. There are various advancements that Red Magic 2 will host to lure buyers. There will be shoulder buttons to facilitate game boost feature while playing games.

It is speculated to be coming our way on October 31st at a dedicated launch event, though it has not been confirmed officially. It is expected to be available for the starting price of 3099 Yuan( ~$445) for 8GB RAM version.

Additionally, its predecessor, Nubia Red Magic packs a 6.0-inch display with the resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels having 8GB of RAM and 128 GB storage. It is packed with a 24-megapixel sensor on the rear while 8-megapixel shooter is set on the front side. Unlike the new version, it supports only the air convection cooling system.

The Nubia Red Magic 2 is coming and apart from having a more powerful processor, it will pack some other interesting features. While we wait for Nubia to announce a release date, a live photo of the phone has surfaced on the web, giving us our first look at the gaming phone.

The Nubia Red Magic 2 in the image is the red variant. We expect it to come in other colors like the original. Although the image shows just the right side of the phone, there are enough details to make out of it.

The Red Magic 2 has antenna lines like the original and it is the same U-design. The right side is still home to the volume rocker and power button but also houses two shoulder buttons. They don’t appear to be clickable – so they are likely pressure-sensitive. Since the right side of the phone now houses the shoulder buttons, the textured GameBoost button is no longer there. Our guess is that it has been moved to the left.

Nubia has released some teaser posters for the Red Magic 2 that confirm some of the features it will have. So far, we know the phone will have a dual cooling system that combines liquid and air, a Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 10GB of RAM, 3D surround sound and 4D shock.

Now, Nubia is readying its 2nd generation Red Magic 2 smartphone with some extraordinary features. Today, Red Magic took to Weibo and teased its dual cooling system. Interestingly, it will pack both air and liquid cooling system to keep it cool even during extensive gaming usage.

Now, it would be interesting to see the pricing and battery capacity details of the device. Its 10 GB RAM will help the device to unleash the full gaming experience. Further, there will be a 3D surround sound and 4D shock features. The Red Magic 2 has a single rear camera with a hexagonal LED flash. As like of other gaming smartphones, it will also feature LED lights. As per earlier teasers and reports, it will carry a horizontal blue LED RGB light bar.

The 4D shock technology is still uncovered, but we expect that it would carry dual vibration motors to give users another dimension of feeling. These shocks or vibrations will give users additional feedback while playing games. In other words, we can say it’s a PS4 like Haptic feedback feature which might make a debut under the 4D shock technology.

It is expected to launch alongside Nubia X on October 31, but nothing is confirmed as of now. Its predecessor Nubia Red Magic went on sale with 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM edition with a price tag of 2,099 (~$300) in China.

Nubia’s Red Magic gaming smartphone brand has recently confirmed that it will be soon launching the Red Magic 2 smartphone. Since the original Red Magic gaming phone was powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset, rumors surrounding its successor have claimed that it would be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC. Through Weibo, Red Magic has confirmed today on the key features that will be available on the Red Magic 2 phone.

The below poster has confirmed that the Red Magic 2 smartphone will be driven by Snapdragon 845 chipset. Popular tipster Roland Quandt had also previously claimed that the SD845 will be fueling the Red Magic 2 smartphone. He had also claimed that the phone would be also equipped with new shoulder buttons.

The Snapdragon 845 SoC on the Red Magic 2 will be coupled with 10 GB of RAM. The manufacturer has also included dual cooling system inside the smartphone. It comprises of air cooling and liquid cooling technologies. For enhanced gaming experience, the smartphone will also 3D surround sound output and it will also carry support for 4D shock.

There is no information available on the other specs of the Red Magic 2. The above poster suggests that the rear design of the phone won’t be very different from its predecessor. It will continue to feature a single camera sensor on its rear.

The Red Magic 2 launch date is yet to be confirmed. Its arrival may not be far away as the company has recently started selling the Red Magic phone with a discounted price. The 64 GB storage + 6 GB RAM edition of the Red Magic that was selling with a price tag of 2,299 Yuan (~$330) is now available for 2,099 (~$300) in China.

Nubia X dual screen smartphone is scheduled to go official on Oct. 31. Hence, the Chinese manufacturer may launch the Red Magic 2 smartphone at some point in November.

Apart from notches being the trend this year, some manufacturers also jumped on the gaming smartphone train. One of them is Nubia with its Red Magic gaming smartphone.

The Nubia Red Magic has a nice design and packs impressive specs save for having last year’s Snapdragon 835 processor instead of the new Snapdragon 845. The older processor means it can’t match the performance of other gaming smartphones such as Xiaomi‘s Black Shark and ASUS‘ ROG gaming phone.

If the older processor is what’s putting you off from buying it, then you may be pleased to learn that Nubia is working on a successor which we will refer to as the Red Magic 2. The info comes from Roland Quandt.

In a tweet earlier today, he revealed that a new Red Magic device with a Snapdragon 845 is in the works. However, a new processor isn’t the only new thing. It will also have shoulder buttons.

There is no info on when the new phone will launch but Nubia will do well to launch it this year because doing so next year will just mean repeating the same pattern as this year’s model.

The Red Magic has a 6.0-inch 1080 x 2160 screen. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The back is made of aluminum and has an RGB LED strip. There is a single 24MP sensor on the back and an 8MP front-facing camera above the display. It has a smart amplifier and DTS audio. There is a 3,800mAh battery under the hood with support for fast charge. It also has a new air convection cooling system to keep the device cool.

The phone will sell for €449 (~$522) when it goes on sale later this month in Europe.
