AnTuTu has rolled out its list for the best performing flagship for November 2021. The entire list is populated with Snapdragon 888 Plus and Snapdragon 888 powered smartphones. Topping the chart is the  Black Shark 4S Pro for the second month in a row with a benchmarking score of 875,382. Second one on the listing is the Nubia RedMagic 6S Pro with 852,719 scores. The third one on the list is the iQOO 8 Pro is placed third with a score of 846,663.

The top three phones are powered by the Snapdragon 888 Plus mobile platform. The next three phones on the list are Black Shark 4 Pro, which features the Snapdragon 888, followed by the Vivo X70 Pro+ with Snapdragon 888 Plus, and the ASUS ROG Phone 5s with the Snapdragon 888 Plus.

The remaining four phones on the list are powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. The seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth spots are occupied by iQOO 8, Lenovo Legion Duel 2 Pro, OPPO Find X3 Pro, and Realme GT 5G.

The top 10 list of best forming high-end phones have Snapdragon 778G powered phones occupying the top 6 places. These include iQOO Z5 with 566,438 scores, OPPO K9s 5G with 536,265 scores, and Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G with 534,739 scores, Xiaomi Civi, Honor 50 Pro, and Honor 50.

The OPPO Reno6 5G with Dimensity 900 is placed seventh. The Huawei Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro 4G phones with Snapdragon 778G have acquired eighth and ninth spots. The last one on the list is the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ with Dimensity 920 SoC.

Last month, ZTE-backed Nubia had launched its Red Magic 6S Pro gaming smartphone as the flagship device for the second half of the year. As the name itself indicates, it is an upgraded version of the Red Magic 6 Pro launched earlier this year.

Today, the company has launched the Red Magic 6S Pro Battlefield Camouflage Edition in the Chinese market. The gaming smartphone comes packed with 18GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, carrying a price tag of 6,999 yuan which is around $1,096.

The Red Magic 6S Pro Battlefield Camouflage Edition is currently available for pre-order in China and the company will start shipping the device from 1st November.

This new variant is made in collaboration with Tencent Games and is a limited edition device. The phone’s back panel is split between camouflage and translucent body design. Further, the company is offering a full metal combat gearbox packaging that comes equipped with a phone case, charger, dual-core cooling back clip, and Red Magic TWS Gaming Earbuds — all having camouflage design.

Coming to the specifications, the specs remain the same as the Red Magic 6S Pro. It features a 6.8-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels screen resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and 720Hz touch sampling rate. It also comes with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 700 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection on top.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC, coupled with Adreno 660 GPU. It is powered by a 4,500mAh dual-cell battery with support for up to 120W fast charging technology. There’s also a Charge Separation feature found in Game Space that bypasses the battery and takes power directly from a power source to keep the smartphone cooler while heavy gaming.

China, a few days back, launched its longest space mission yet when a three-man crew aboard the Shenzhou-13 spaceship successfully docked with the radial port of the space station core module Tianhe at 6:56 Beijing Time (6:56 p.m. ET/22:56 GMT) on Saturday, according to the China Manned Space Agency. The team will live and work at the station for 183 days, or just about six months. To mark this historic moment, Red Magic has launched an Aerospace commemorative set of the Red Magic 6S Pro.

The Red Magic 6S Pro Aerospace Commemorative set is designed in silver and white, with the Red Magic Logo and “REDMAGIC” laser engraved on the front. The edition consists of the Red Magic 6S Pro smartphone in a white paint job as well as the Red Magic dual-core cooling back clip aerospace version, and the NeoBoy figurine aerospace version. There is also a white version of the brand’s 120W GaN charger inside the box.

The Red Magic 6S Pro Aerospace Commemorative smartphone isn’t different in design from the normal version. It uses a 6.8-inch 165Hz ultra-competitive screen, and the multi-finger touch sampling rate is upgraded to 720Hz, and the silky control is easy to handle.

It also comes with the newly upgraded ICE 7.0 nine-layer multi-dimensional cooling system, built-in fan speed up to 20,000 rpm, and adopts aerospace-grade phase change The heat-dissipating material n-21 oxane (C21H44) can control the temperature rise steadily, and bid farewell to the down-frequency stuttering.

It also has a built-in battery capacity of 4500mAh, supports 120W fast charge, and can charge to 100% in 17 minutes. At the same time, it adopts an all-pole-ear battery cell design and charging separation technology, which can effectively control the temperature rise, and it is not hot to play while charging.

Nubia has released its latest flagship gaming phone for the second half of the year—the REDMAGIC 6S Pro. And as you might have guessed from the name, it’s a minor upgrade to the REDMAGIC 6 Pro from the first half of the year. While we couldn’t test the old REDMAGIC 6 Pro, let’s take a look at how REDMAGIC’s latest flagship gaming phone performs.

REDMAGIC 6S Pro Design

The REDMAGIC 6S Pro looks very similar to the REDMAGIC 6 Pro, and from a distance, the difference is barely noticeable. But the back has become more minimalistic, and the lack of RGB lighting makes the 6S Pro more of a normal phone than a gaming phone. The entire back is very smooth and feels very good in the hand.

The camera also doesn’t protrude much. It features a design that is more comfortable when playing games than other angular gaming phones. Headphone jack, Shoulder Triggers and NFC are also present. 

As a gaming phone, the REDMAGIC 6S Pro is well-made, and it would have been perfect if the plastic protective layer around the screen was made smaller.

REDMAGIC 6S Pro Review: Design

Both REDMAGIC 6S Pro and REDMAGIC 6 Pro have similar screens featuring 165Hz, FHD+, OLED display. With diamond-like pixel arrangement, there is no gap between the clarity and Samsung’s screen. There is no hole-punch or notch as it is a complete screen, and the thickened upper and lower bezels make it suitable for two-handed gaming. The only drawback that can be felt more obviously is the tendency to squint at green. The front view does not have this problem, and the colors are gorgeous. There is no doubt that it is an excellent screen.

As a gaming phone, what we are concerned about is what has been done to optimize the gaming experience. Shoulder Triggers are now upgraded a bit compared to the previous generation, while the touch sampling rate is upgraded to 450Hz. And the new addition of the back touch area, plus Shoulder Triggers can quickly perform three or four operations at the same time. However, the back of the touch area does not make a distinction between different touch gestures, so you have to practice more to become proficient in operation. The game toolbar also gets a new design, both sides can be swiped to call out the toolbar. Red Magic OS also includes some redesigned widgets that allow you to visually see your heartbeat, game time, and more. A number of game-related quick switches can be easily opened when you need them.

REDMAGIC 6S Pro Review: Gaming & Performance

REDMAGIC 6S Pro upgrades the processor to Snapdragon 888+. 

LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1 are also our old friends. Although this year’s Snapdragon flagship chips are very hot, REDMAGIC’s built-in fan design is not for show.

With the fan on the strongest mode, Antutu Bench ran the highest score ever — 870,163. In 3DMark it got 5897, while in Geekbench 5 the phone got a single-core score of 1146 and a multi-core score of 3686.

The gaming performance is as good as ever, with PUBG being able to turn on 90 FPS mode in Smooth Graphics, and the frame rate curve is very smooth. But We know PUBG is not stressful to gaming phones at all. 

Genshin Impact’s frame rate curve is not as stable, but the average frame rate of 56 FPS is very impressive. The frame rate doesn’t fluctuate significantly either. Brightridge being the most processor demanding game, the average frame rate of 48FPS is also very impressive compared to other non-gaming phones.

The built-in fan can ensure your processor has a stable frame rate throughout, but it does not guarantee that the external temperature will come down. The back of the phone can reach up to 53 degrees Celsius, so if you want the external temperature to come down as well, it’s recommended to buy a cooler.

REDMAGIC 6S Pro Review: Camera

Because the REDMAGIC 6S Pro is a gaming-focused phone, we’ll only go over the camera part briefly.

Main Camera

The color of the camera is not very bright, but it’s closer to the real color. The resolution is good and the HDR strength is very strong.

The 6S Pro is not as good as it could be at night, especially with the Ultrawide Camera which does not have a night mode, but the main camera with night mode is fine for most everyday scenes.

The Ultra Wide Angle camera is good for most occasions but the absence of a night mode for wide shots is a drawback.

As for the macro lens, it can be used occasionally when there is enough light. But don’t expect it to have great image quality.

REDMAGIC 6S Pro Review: Battery Life & Charging

The charger and charging cable are included in the box. But like the 6 Pro, although the phone supports 66W wired charging, the charger inside the box is only 30W. But because you can use the built-in fan to reduce the temperature when charging, so you can almost always charge at full power.

5 minutes tops up the battery to 11%, another half an hour to 62%, and 55 minutes to full charge. Although the 6S Pro has a large 5050mAh battery, it consumes more power in the gaming section because of its high performance. 20 minutes of Genshin Impact and Brightridge consume 18% and 16% respectively, 10% for PUBG. Daily applications do not consume a lot of power as 1080P online video only consumes 2% and while Tiktok around 5%.

REDMAGIC 6S Pro Review: Verdict

REDMAGIC 6S Pro is not a significant upgrade compared to the 6 Pro in the first half of the year. If you already have the REDMAGIC 6 Pro, there is no need to buy the 6S Pro. But If you want to buy a gaming phone now, you can definitely check out the REDMAGIC 6S Pro.

After all, REDMAGIC’s flagship phones should be one of the few devices that can leverage Snapdragon 888+’s full power output, not to mention that built-in fan works really very well.

Design

Asus ROG Phone 5s has the same design as the original ROG Phone 5 with an RGB LED on the rear side, a glass back, and an aluminum frame. It offers the Gorilla Glass 3 protection for the rear glass and the Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display. The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro adds a very interesting color option: the Ghost color variant with a transparent back. Combined with the RGB LEDs on the in-built cooling fan, the transparent design makes the device look gorgeous. The Asus ROG Phone 5s has pressure sensitive gaming triggers, while the Red Magic 6S Pro has both pressure sensitive zones with a 450 Hz touch sampling rate and a physical trigger on the back. The Asus ROG Phone 5s is compatible with several external gaming accessories, while Red Magic 6s Pro is not.

Display

The Asus ROG Phone 5s has the most advanced display in terms of image quality. It is an AMOLED panel with one billion colors, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and the HDR10+ certification showing a high color accuracy, high brightness, and contrast. The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro has the highest refresh rate with 165 Hz, but the display quality is inferior. Both the handsets come with pretty thick bezels around the displays, as well as in-display fingerprint readers and great stereo speakers.

Specs & Software

Asus ROG Phone 5s and Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 888+ mobile platform running at a max frequency of 3 GHz, but the Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro wins the hardware comparison because it has a superior memory configuration in the most expensive variant. It offers up to 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage instead of the 16/256 GB offered by the Asus ROG Phone 5s. Further, the Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro has an in-built cooling fan improving heat dissipation. The handsets run Android 11 out of the box, just like every last-generation 2021 phone released until now.

Camera

Are you looking for the best camera phone? You should definitely avoid choosing a gaming phone if you want a camera phone, but these devices are your favorite choices, go for the Asus ROG Phone 5s. It has a slightly better main camera supporting 8K video recording, as well as a better 13 MP ultrawide camera and a better 5 MP macro sensor. Last but not least, it has a superior 24 MP front camera while Red Magic 6s Pro has just 8 MP on the front.

Battery

The Asus ROG Phone 5s has a bigger battery and it lasts more on a single charge: its capacity is 6000 mAh, while the European version of the Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro has “just” 5050 mAh. Anyways, both are good battery phones. On the other hand, Red Magic 6S Pro has a faster charging technology with a power of 120W, but unlike the ROG Phone 5s, it does not support reverse charging.

The starting price of the Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro is €599/$710, while the Asus ROG Phone 5s starts from €915/$1080. Despite Nubia Red Magic 6s Pro is not a superior phone, it has a way higher value for money, that is the reason why I would choose it.

Earlier today, Nubia’s REDMAGIC line announced a new gaming smartphone in China. The new REDMAGIC 6S Pro comes with significant upgrades such as the more powerful Snapdragon 888 Plus processor, a higher touch sampling rate, and an improved cooling system. Now, the manufacturer has announced when the phone will get a global launch date.

As seen on the official website, the REDMAGIC 6S Pro will be announced on Monday, September 27. Ahead of the launch, REDMAGIC has revealed key details such as the price of the phone. International buyers will be able to pick up the phone in the three variants listed below:

• 12GB RAM + 128GB = $599/€599/£519
• 16GB RAM + 256GB = $699/€699/£609
• 16GB RAM + 256GB (Ghost) = $729/€729/£629

The Ghost Edition is the model with a see-through back panel that allows you to see the internals including the cooling fan and its LED lights.

REDMAGIC is giving buyers $10/€10 if you subscribe to the REDMAGIC newsletter. It is also running a giveaway in partnership with the game accessory maker, GameSir. The winner will get a REDMAGIC 6S Pro: Ghost and a GameSir X2 Controller.

The REDMAGIC 6S Pro will have a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate, a 720Hz touch sampling rate, and a 7.4ms response rate. There is a Snapdragon 888+ chipset under the hood and it draws juice from a 4500mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. There is a possibility the global version will come with a bigger battery capacity but slower charging speed just like the manufacturer did with the REDMAGIC 6 Chinese and global variants.

REDMAGIC, the sub-brand of ZTE has launched yet another gaming smartphone in China. The new model called REDMAGIC 6S Pro is a slightly upgraded version of the RedMagic 6 Pro from earlier this year. The company also announced a new budget smartwatch dubbed as REDMAGIC Watch Vitality Edition and other accessories. Let’s take a look at what this new phone has to offer.

REDMAGIC 6S Pro Specifications and Features

The REDMAGIC 6S Pro is almost identical to the older RedMagic 6 Pro in terms of features. There are only a few differences between them. The new handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset instead of a vanilla Snapdragon 888. Further, in addition to two touch sensors on the back, the device’s software, cooling system, and touch sampling rate get an upgrade.

On the front, the phone sports a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 165Hz refresh rate, and 720Hz touch sampling rate. The screen has a 1000000:1 contrast ratio and an under-display fingerprint sensor with support for heart rate monitoring. This SGS-certified (low smear/blue-light) screen also supports DC Dimming.

As mentioned earlier, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC runs this smartphone. The silicon is paired with up to 18GB LPDDR5 dual-channel RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. To keep the thermals down, the device uses ICE7.0 multi-dimensional cooling system consisting of composite graphene, aluminum middle frame, 20,000 RPM fan with RGB lights, VC heat sink, thermal conductivity gel, and more.

Like any other gaming smartphone, the cameras on this are also mediocre, at least on paper. It features the same 64MP (wide) + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro) triple rear camera setup and an 8MP front-facing camera like its forerunner.

On the connectivity front, the handset supports dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GNSS (GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS), USB 3.0 Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It has all the essential sensors like an accelerometer, proximity sensor, compass, ambient light sensor, and gyroscope.

The phone runs the new REDMAGIC OS 4.5 based on nubia UI with Android 11 as base layer. The software comes with new and improved features like REDMAGIC Projection (wired/wireless display output), Super Base (game library and new virtual assistant), and Game Assistant (gaming-related tweaks). There are also new custom themes based on games like Honor of Kings and Game for Peace.

Other features of the REDGMAGIC 6S Pro include dual stereo speakers with support for DTS: X Ultra, capacitive shoulder buttons, 4,500mAh battery, and 120W fast charging. Last but not least, it measures 169.86 x 77.19 x 9.5mm in dimensions and weighs 215g.

REDMAGIC 6S Pro Price and Availability

The REDMAGIC 6S Pro arrives in three color options, namely Shining Black, Star White, and Transparent Edition. The black color comes in both 8GB and 12GB RAM variants, while the White is limited to 12GB RAM. Whereas, the transparent model can be bought in either 12GB, 16GB RAM, or 18GB versions. Additionally, there’s also a Tencent Games Battlefield Camouflage Limited Edition package with some accesssories.

Having said that, the REDMAGIC 6S Pro will retail for the following price tags in China.

Design and Display

The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro would follow RedMagic’s design language with a more gamer aesthetic design with RGB lighting. The upcoming gaming phone from Nubia would be coming in two designs – one with an opaque and glossy black back as seen in an unboxing video by Youtuber ZolloTech and another one with a transparent rear panel as teased by Nubia. We speculate that the transparent back would be exclusive to the higher-end storage variant or a special transparent edition like previous models. The RedMagic 6S Pro would come with an FHD+ 6.8-inch AMOLED  panel with a refresh rate of 165Hz and a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. The display is said to offer a peak brightness of 700 nits. Moreover, the front also houses an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Cameras

The upcoming smartphone might bring a triple rear camera setup. The rear camera setup is expected to be led by a 64MP primary camera paired with an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP camera. The gaming phone would be capable of recording 4K 60fps or 8K 30fps footages, and it also supports HDR. On the front, the 6S Pro would be having an 8MP selfie camera housed inside the upper chin of the smartphone. 

Hardware and Software

Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888+ chipset would power the Nubia RedMagic 6S Pro gaming phone. Coming to memory configurations, the smartphone is expected to offer different memory options, including 8GB /12GB /16GB of RAM and 128GB /256GB /512GB of internal storage. Further, the smartphone is expected to come with a 5,050mAh supporting 120W air-cooled fast charging.

The upcoming Nubia branded gaming phone is also said to bring different heat dissipation measures onboard to ensure the longevity of the hardware. Nubia has teased a new ICE7.0 nine-layer multi-dimensional three-dimensional cooling system for the Red Magic 6S Pro. Apart from this, the smartphone would be coming with a built-in turbo cooling fan. Further, it will utilize phase-change thermal conductivity materials, graphene sheet, copper foil, VC soaking plate to ensure long-term gaming performance.

The Red Magic 6S Pro would be running Red Magic OS 4.5, which is said to optimize the gaming experience up by a notch. The Red Magic OS 4.5 will be built on top of Android 11, and it will bring several gaming features such as customizing touch sampling rate, refresh rate, turning the turbofan on and off, performance boost, and much more.

Pricing, Colors and Availability

There’s no word on the pricing or availability of Red Magic 6S Pro yet. However, the smartphone is believed to come in different storage configurations. The storage variants include “Cyborg 12GB RAM + 128GB Storage,” “Cyborg 16GB RAM + 256GB Storage,” and a “Ghost 16GB RAM + 256GB Storage.” The ‘Cyborg’ could be the branding for the black color, whereas ‘Ghost’ could be a codename for the transparent edition teased by Nubia. Nubia will also be announcing a Power Bank and Fly Wise G1 Controller alongside the new gaming phone.

The Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro is all set to be introduced, but the company hasn’t stopped teasing its features. In a Weibo post, the company announced that its upcoming gaming phone would be coming with the new Red Magic OS 4.5. The new Red Magic OS would be based on Android 11. The Red Magic OS 4.5 is also touted to come with an all-around assistant, which is said to improve the overall gaming experience on the upcoming Red Magic 6S Pro.

The Red Magic 6S Pro might have a translucent design and RGB lighting similar to Red Magic 6 Pro Transparent Edition. The upcoming gaming phone from Nubia would sport a 165Hz refresh rate AMOLED display. Further, the display might come with a touch sampling rate of 720Hz, a 100 per cent increase from the Red Magic 6. 

The TENNA certification also passed the Red Magic 6S Pro, suggesting that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset would power the smartphone. The chipset inside could be paired with 8 GB / 12 GB / 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB of storage. A 4,500mAh battery would back up the smartphone with support for 120W charging. The gaming phone would come with a built-in turbo cooling fan built with other measures such as phase-change thermal conductivity materials, graphene sheet, copper foil, VC soaking plate to ensure long-term gaming performance. The smartphone is also touted to feature 500Hz AirTriggers. The upcoming Nubia gaming phone would also be coming with ICE7.0 nine-layer multi-dimensional three-dimensional cooling system.

Coming to the optics, the gaming phone is rumoured to feature a triple rear camera setup led by a 64MP sensor. Meanwhile, on the front, the smartphone would come with an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls. The Red Magic 6S Pro would be bringing Power Bank and Fly Wise G1 Controller in the package. Nubia has been teasing the upcoming Red Magic 6S Pro a lot over the last couple of days. Its launch is set for next week (on September 6) and we have seen glimpses of the device in a recent video teaser as well. Now, a new unboxing video has revealed the design of the smartphone and also revealed some specifications as well.

In a new video from Zollotech, the Tech YouTuber shared a full unboxing video of the Red Magic 6S Pro that showcased the device in all its glory. Zollotech also went as far as to setup the smartphone while also offering some of his own views of the new handset. While the pricing has yet to be revealed, the YouTuber revealed that the 6S Pro will launch in multiple storage variants, which includes a “Cyborg 12GB RAM + 128GB Storage,” “Cyborg 16GB RAM + 256GB Storage,” and a “Ghost 16GB RAM + 256GB Storage” variants.

This is somewhat in line with our previous reports, although, the device was expected to also arrive in an 8GB RAM and go up to 512GB for storage. In the box, we can see the usual charging cable and brick. However, the most interesting aspect of the unboxing was the design. While the Chinese smartphone maker has teased a transparent rear panel for the device in teaser image posters and videos, this variant of the smartphone has an opaque and glossy back. So, the transparent version might be exclusive to a high end storage model or a special edition.

The version the YouTuber unboxed featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ along with 128GB of storage. It sports a 6.8 inch AMOLED display that has a FHD+ resolution with 165Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 700 nits. The front panel also houses an in display fingerprint reader as well. On the rear, the 6S Pro features a triple camera setup with a 64 megapixel primary camera, paired with an 8 megapixel ultra wide angle lens and another 2 megapixel sensor. As per Zollotech, the phone is powered by a massive 5,050mAh battery pack that support 120W air cooled fast charging.

Notably, the video clearly showcases the gaming mode of the device that lets users customize various options regarding the smartphone. This includes the touch sampling rate, refresh rate, turning the turbo fan on and off, boost performance, and much more. He also noted that the phone’s rear panel did get warm after playing Real Racing 3 and COD: Mobile, although, this was with the fan off. Zollotech found the camera decent and even did a camera and audio test as well. Earlier today (3rd September 2021), Nubia shared another teaser for its upcoming Red Magic 6S Pro smartphone. The teaser arrived in the form of a new video that showcased the device’s cooling system and its RGB fan.

The brand shared the teaser video on its official Weibo account, a Chinese microblogging website. Looking at this video, we can see a user playing a game with the upcoming smartphone. The person turns on the gaming mode, which lights up the RGB fan that is visible through the transparent back panel of the device. Since devices tend to run hotter when playing intensive games, the company included a fan with its new gaming phone.

Meanwhile, the RGB fan helps add more of the ‘gaming aesthetic’ that the Red Magic series is known for. The Chinese smartphone maker also added that the upcoming handset features ICE7.0 nine layered multi dimensional cooling system that will help keep the thermals low during tasks like gaming. Previously, it had also teased the space grade materials used in the cooling system.

Under the hood, the device sports the high end Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC, so it is understandable that the brand is using an advanced cooling system to ensure performance over longer periods of gaming. The Red Magic 6S Pro is an upcoming gaming smartphone that is scheduled to launch this month. The manufacturer has been teasing some of the phone’s features ahead of the launch event on September 6. The latest one confirms the phone’s battery capacity and fast charging features.

The official Red Magic (Red Devil) Weibo account shared a poster earlier today that confirms the Red Magic 6S Pro will have a 4500mAh dual-cell battery. Thanks to having support for 120W fast charging, owners will be able to charge the phone in just 17 minutes according to the manufacturer.

Red Magic says that the fast charging technology uses air-cooling to keep the temperature down. And unlike some manufacturers that have decided not to include a charger in the box, Red Magic will ship a 120W GaN charger with its new phone.

So far, we know the Red Magic 6S Pro will have a 6.8-inch OLED screen, 1080p resolution, Snapdragon 888+ processor, 64MP triple rear cameras, and a built-in cooling fan with RGB lights. It will be available in multiple configurations with the highest configuration having 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Earlier this week, Nubia confirmed that the phone will have a 720Hz touch sampling rate and a touch response rate of 7.4ms. The refresh for the screen will remain 165Hz like that of the Red Magic 6 Pro.

Nubia is set to launch its latest smartphone, the Red Magic 6S Pro on September 6. Although, prior to its release the company has officially revealed the design of the upcoming device.

Earlier today (2nd September 2021), we had reported on a TENAA certification, which revealed the images of the 6S Pro along with certain specifications of the handset as well. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker’s President, Ni Fei, has officially revealed the design of the device. Similar to the Red Magic 6 Pro Deuterium Transparent Edition, the 6S Pro will also feature a transparent rear panel. This offers us a glimpse at some of the internal components of the smartphone.

This includes its heat dissipation system and the fan. On the rear panel, we can also see the branding of the smartphone along with the Tencent Games branding as well, while the brand logo can be spotted at the bottom. Notably, the transparent half of the device also offers also tells us where the various components of the smartphone is housed, like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC, the LPDDR5 RAM, and the stereo speakers.

Recently, the company had also teased the thermal management system of the upcoming smartphone. It has highlighted the space grade materials used to reduce the device’s temperature and the cooling fan that can run at 20,000rpm. Notably, this fan also featured RGB lighting that lights up, which likely to further supplement the gaming aesthetic of the smartphone.

Last month, the company confirmed that it will be announcing the Red Magic 6S Pro powered by the latest Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset on Sept. 6 in China. Before the official announcement, the handset has appeared in the database of the TENAA certification site with full specifications and images.

Red Magic 6S Pro specifications

The Nubia NX669J-S smartphone that has bagged 3C and TENAA certifications is expected to break cover as the Red Magic 6S Pro in China. It has a massive 6.8-inch OLED screen that offers 1080 x 2400 pixels Full HD+ resolution and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The Snapdragon 888 Plus power phone will come with 8 GB / 12 GB / 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB / 256 GB / 512 GB of storage. It will boot to Red Magic UI-based Android 11 OS.

For photography, it has an 8-megapixel selfie camera and a 64-megapixel triple camera unit. The exact battery capacity is not mentioned in the listing. It is likely to feature the same 4,500mAh battery that came with the Chinese edition of the Red Magic 6 Pro. The 3C listing of the device had revealed that it may carry support for 120W fast charging.

The company has already confirmed that its display will offer a 720Hz touch sampling rate and a 7.4ms response rate. For heat dissipation, it will be equipped with an aerospace-grade cooling system. For gaming, it will feature 450Hz dual gaming trigger shoulder buttons.

Following the launch of the ROG Phone 5s series, Nubia’s Red Magic gaming brand is also set to launch its own gaming phones for the second half of the year. The phones are expected to launch as the Red Magic 6S and Red Magic 6S Pro, and ahead of the launch in September, the manufacturer has revealed a key specification of the pro model.

A post shared on Weibo by the official Red Magic account has revealed that the Red Magic 6S Pro will have a 720Hz multi-touch sampling rate, which is a significant increase from the 400Hz touch sampling rate of the Red Magic 6 Pro launched earlier this year.

Red Magic is not only increasing the touch sampling rate but has also revealed that the touch response rate is only 7.4ms.

The manufacturer has revealed earlier that the phone will also come with improved cooling technology along with a built-in cooling fan, a Snapdragon 888 Plus processor, a 165Hz refresh rate display, and triple rear cameras.

Earlier today (31st August 2021), Nubia shared another teaser for its upcoming Red Magic 6S Pro gaming smartphone. The new teaser showcased its heat dissipation system again, but this time, the company revealed the aerospace-grade phase change material used in the device.

Previously, the Chinese smartphone maker had shared a teaser that highlighted two key components of the Red Magic 6S Pro’s thermal management systems. This included aerospace level heat dissipation black technology, which is an aviation-grade aluminum that is used in a surface of up to 18,000 square millimeters inside the handset to reduce the CPU’s core temperature by around 16 degrees Celsius and even reduce the temperature of the smartphone’s body as well. Furthermore, the brand had even talked about the new turbo cooling fan, which can spin at a speed of up to 20,000 RPM.

Now, the company has revealed that the unique aerospace-grade heat dissipation technology used in the upcoming device is the material n-ecosane C21H44. For those unaware, this material is a compound that has a melting point of about 39 to 41 degrees Celsius. Notably, the material is also soluble in water and appears to have practical applications for smartphones’ heat dissipation systems as well.

While Nubia only hinted at the cooling system of the Red Magic 6S Pro again, we already have confirmation that the device will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC along with support for 165Hz high refresh rate display and a triple camera module on the rear. Nubia announced the Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6 Prov in March in China. It was followed by the launch of the more affordable Red Magic 6R in May. Recently, a new Nubia phone model number NX699J-S was certified by the 3C authority of China. Its appearance suggested that the company could be gearing up to launch a new Red Magic branded gaming phone. Today, the Chinese firm officially confirmed that it will be unleashing the Red Magic 6S Pro at 3 PM (local time) on Sept. 6 in China.

The official poster released by the brand some of the key features of the Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro. It reveals that the phone will carry support for an impressive 165Hz refresh rate and it will be fueled by the Snapdragon 888 Plus mobile platform.

The image further reveals that it will be equipped with a triple camera unit. The 3C certification of the phone had revealed it will carry support for up to 120W fast charging. While the other details of the smartphone are under wraps, it is likely to borrow most of its other specs from the Red Magic 6 Pro. Also, it remains to be seen whether the company announces a vanilla Red Magic 6S alongside the upcoming Pro model.
