<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/apple/">Apple</a> has reportedly added a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/16/apple-iphone-16-graphene-cooling/#:~:text=Apple%20iPhone%2016%20to%20Feature,Enhanced%20Performance%20and%20Efficiency%20%2D%20Gizmochina">graphene thermal system</a> to the iPhone 16 Pro models which helps dissipate the heat better and in turn, offers a more stable performance. The A18 Pro chipset is also more capable than last year&#8217;s chipset. But how do its performance and stability compare to flagship Android devices with superior heat dissipation systems?&#8221;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/iPhone-16-Pro-and-iPhone-16-Pro-Max-3-1024x640.jpeg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-649477" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/iPhone-16-Pro-and-iPhone-16-Pro-Max-3-1024x640.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/iPhone-16-Pro-and-iPhone-16-Pro-Max-3-300x188.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/iPhone-16-Pro-and-iPhone-16-Pro-Max-3-768x480.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/iPhone-16-Pro-and-iPhone-16-Pro-Max-3-1536x960.jpeg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/iPhone-16-Pro-and-iPhone-16-Pro-Max-3-696x435.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/iPhone-16-Pro-and-iPhone-16-Pro-Max-3-1068x668.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/iPhone-16-Pro-and-iPhone-16-Pro-Max-3-672x420.jpeg 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/iPhone-16-Pro-and-iPhone-16-Pro-Max-3.jpeg 1680w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>To test it out, the YouTube channel &#8216;极客湾Geekerwan&#8217; ran Genshin Impact and similar heavy titles on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-16-pro-max/">iPhone 16 Pro Max</a>, some previous iPhones, and some <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android/">Android</a> flagships with last year&#8217;s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300+ chip.</p>

<p>The iPhone 16 Pro Max obtained a decent lead over the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-15-pro-max/">iPhone 15 Pro Max</a>. However, the Red Magic 9S Pro, which was launched in July this year with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 managed to outperform Apple&#8217;s latest iPhone 16 Pro Max in the game. It&#8217;s important to mention that the Red Magic 9S Pro equips an active cooling system, which likely enable it use more power.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="539" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Screenshot-2024-09-21-074238-1024x539.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-651241" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Screenshot-2024-09-21-074238-1024x539.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Screenshot-2024-09-21-074238-300x158.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Screenshot-2024-09-21-074238-768x404.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Screenshot-2024-09-21-074238-1536x809.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Screenshot-2024-09-21-074238-696x367.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Screenshot-2024-09-21-074238-1068x562.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Screenshot-2024-09-21-074238-798x420.png 798w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Screenshot-2024-09-21-074238.png 1787w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The A18 Pro running in the iPhone 16 Pro Max maintains a framerate of 55.5FPS in Genshin Impact, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered Android flagship offered an average frame rate of 59.9fps. While the difference might not seem reasonably big, the gameplay was significantly more stable in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/zte-nubia-red-magic-9s-pro/">Red Magic 9S Pro</a>.</p>

<p>It is also interesting to see that the same SoC powering the smaller iPhone 16 Pro managed to achieve only 49.5fps, and offered a significantly less stable performance as compared to the larger model. This is probably because of a relatively inferior heat dissipation system on the Pro model. However, the story is strangely different with the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, as the A18 running in the smaller 6.1-inch handset obtains a higher framerate than its bigger 6.7-inch brother.</p>

<p>Notably, not all Android devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 performed the same. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-14-pro/">Xiaomi 14 Pro</a>, which also packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip only managed to score an average frame rate of 38.9fps. It also hints at a difference in the heat dissipation system and performance tuning.</p>

<h3>AI Features for Gaming</h3>

<p>The Red Magic 9S Pro series aims to improve mobile gaming with an upgraded Game Space, featuring new AI-driven capabilities. These new and improved features are packed into the REDMAGIC 9.5 operating system (based on Android 14).</p>

<p>One standout feature is Smart Navigator, which offers real-time suggestions for popular games and includes voice typing for quick questions. For those who like to customize their controls, the AI Trigger allows gamers to set personalized actions for the shoulder buttons, enabling the phone to automatically recognize and execute moves based on your playstyle.</p>

<p>Sound Recognition is another impressive addition, automatically identifying in-game sounds to aid decision-making during gameplay. REDMAGIC Moments streamlines content creation by capturing and editing screenshots and clips on the fly, even converting highlights into wallpapers for your game lobby.</p>

<p>The AI Assistant has also received a significant upgrade, now featuring voice-activated functions and a dynamic, game-themed display. Improved scene recognition leads to more accurate AI responses within games, ensuring a more seamless experience. Additionally, the REDMAGIC Cube serves as an in-game hub, offering a variety of AI tools such as photo editing, wallpaper creation, and writing assistance.</p>

<p>The Red Magic 9S Pro series has a 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 960Hz touch sampling rate for responsive touch controls. <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="1024" data-id="635426" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/3d99be05-1d3b-4f8d-96c2-5022b860b09a-768x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-635426" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/3d99be05-1d3b-4f8d-96c2-5022b860b09a-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/3d99be05-1d3b-4f8d-96c2-5022b860b09a-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/3d99be05-1d3b-4f8d-96c2-5022b860b09a-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/3d99be05-1d3b-4f8d-96c2-5022b860b09a-315x420.jpg 315w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/3d99be05-1d3b-4f8d-96c2-5022b860b09a.jpg 820w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></figure>
</figure>

<p>As you can see from the images, two of the four versions will come with a transparent finish near the motherboard and air vent. Other than that, the design language is similar to the predecessor, with flat sides and sharp corners. However, there are some notable changes. On the back, the camera modules are moved to the side and the flash module is also relocated from the top of the camera module to the side of it. The Red Magic logo is also moved from the center to the side. The fan now mimics the third camera, while the third sensor is placed inside the flash module.</p>

<p>On the front the phone boasts narrower bezels as compared to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/zte-nubia-red-magic-8s-pro-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Red Magic 8s Pro</a>.</p>

<p>According to previous rumors, the phone will come with a multi-layer precision heat dissipation ICE 13.5 magic cooling system, equipped with 10,000-level ice-grade VC + innovative frost cooling gel + alloy shark fin high-speed centrifugal fan. It is expected to be able to reduce the body temperature by up to 19.5℃ and the CPU core temperature by up to 25℃.</p>

<p>The phone will be powered by last year&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-3" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snapdragon 8 Gen 3</a> chipset. However, it it said that the Cortx-X4 prime core of the SD 8Gen 3 chipset will be overclocked to 3.4GHz. For reference, the prime core in the regular version of the chipset clocks at 3.3GHz. In addition to that, the GPU clock is also said to be increased by 1GHz. Not to mention, the phone will boast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.</p>

<p>The Red Magic 9s Pro could equip a large language model for AI features. It is said that the LLM will offer a first-word response time of 1 second. So we can say that there will be some text-based features. It could be similar to the text generation and summarization features already available in many flagship devices. Nonetheless, there isn&#8217;t much information available about the AI features at the moment.</p>

<p>The Red Magic 9S Pro is all set to debut <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/06/24/red-magic-9s-pro-launching-on-july-3-could-be-first-snapdragon-8-gen-3-leading-version-phone/">on July 3 in China</a>. Ahead of the launch, a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/nubia">Nubia</a> phone with NX769S_V2A has appeared on AnTuTu. It appears that the variant that has appeared on the benchmarking platform will have the Red Magic 9S Pro+ marketing name. It is likely that the other variants of the phone may have the Red Magic 9S Pro branding. Here is a look at the details that have emerged through the AnTuTu listing of the Pro+ model.</p>

<h3><strong>Red Magic 9S Pro+ AnTuTu listing</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="585" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Plus-AnTuTu-585x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Red Magic 9S Pro Plus AnTuTu" class="wp-image-634963" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Plus-AnTuTu-585x1024.jpg 585w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Plus-AnTuTu-171x300.jpg 171w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Plus-AnTuTu-696x1219.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Plus-AnTuTu-240x420.jpg 240w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Plus-AnTuTu.jpg 700w" sizes="(max-width: 585px) 100vw, 585px" /><figcaption>Red Magic 9S Pro Plus AnTuTu listing</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Red Magic 9S Pro+ AnTuTu listing identifies its chipset as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. However, the brand has already confirmed that it will have <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/06/26/red-magic-9s-pro-snapdragon-8-gen-3-leading-version/">the overlocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version chipset</a>. The chipset configuration includes 1 x 3.39GHz Cortex-X4, 3 x 2.96GHz Cortex-A720, 2 x 2.2GHz Cortex-A520, and 2 x 1.1GHz Cortex-A720 cores. In comparison, the regular Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 offers a maximum speed of 3.3GHz and slightly slower GPU performance.</p>

<p>The listing confirms that the device comes with a 120Hz display, 24 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and Android 14. As mentioned above, the 24GB+1TB variant may have the Pro+ branding, whereas the other variants could have the Red Magic 9S Pro name.</p>

<p>The Red Magic 9S Pro+ scored 485,3643 points in the CPU test, 979,908 points in the GPU test, 507,149 in the memory test, and 397,122 points in the UX test. Additionally, the Red Magic 9S Pro equipped with 16 GB of RAM, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version, and Android 14 has also been spotted at Geekbench. The device scored 2319 and 7215 in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench 6, respectively.</p>

<p>According to <a href="https://weibo.com/6048569942/Ol43g41u6">tipster Digital Chat Station</a>, the Red Magic 9S Pro will have a 6,500mAh battery and an under-display selfie camera. The other specs of the phone are likely to remain identical to those of the Red Magic 9 series. On July 3, Nubia will also announce <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/06/20/red-magic-gaming-laptop-launch-date-china/">a new gaming laptop</a>.</p>

<h3><strong>Red Magic 9S Pro’s chipset officially confirmed</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-3-Leading-Version-768x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Red Magic 9S Pro Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version" class="wp-image-634329" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-3-Leading-Version-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-3-Leading-Version-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-3-Leading-Version-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-3-Leading-Version-1068x1424.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-3-Leading-Version-315x420.jpg 315w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-Snapdragon-8-Gen-3-Leading-Version.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Red Magic 9S Pro to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>To recall, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version is an overclocked version of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-2">Snapdragon 8 Gen 2</a>, which powered other Android flagship phones in 2022. The only other phones that feature the overlocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 are the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. However, Samsung advertised the chip as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy.</p>

<p>The Galaxy S24 series that debuted earlier this year features the overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, which clocks at 3.39GHz (3.4GHz). On the other hand, other flagship phones, such as the OnePlus 12, iQOO 12, Find X8 Ultra, and so on, have the regular <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-3">Snapdragon 8 Gen 3</a> that operates at 3.3GHz. The upcoming Red Magic 9S Pro will be the only phone to feature an overclocked SD8G3.The above poster identifies the chip as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Apart from the increased CPU speed, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will also offer boosted GPU performance at 1GHz. The phone will also feature LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.</p>

<p>The Red Magic 9S Pro’s other specs have not been revealed yet. However, it seems that the device&#8217;s other features will mirror those of the Red Magic 9 Pro, which made its announcement in November 2023. In addition to the 9S Pro, the brand will also announce the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/06/20/red-magic-gaming-laptop-launch-date-china/">Red Magic Gaming Laptop on July 3 in China</a>.</p>

<p>Last year in November, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/red-magic">Nubia</a> announced the Red Magic 9 Pro and Magic 9 Pro+ in China. Today, Nubia officially announced the release of the new Red Magic 9S Pro series AI gaming phone for the home market at the Red Magic Esports Universe new product launch conference on July 3.</p>

<h3><strong>Red Magic 9S Pro incoming: Here’s what to expect</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="768" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-July-3-launch-768x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="Red Magic 9S Pro July 3 launch" class="wp-image-633866" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-July-3-launch-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-July-3-launch-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-July-3-launch-696x928.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-July-3-launch-1068x1424.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-July-3-launch-315x420.jpg 315w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Red-Magic-9S-Pro-July-3-launch.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /><figcaption>Red Magic 9S Pro July 3 launch</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Red Magic is yet to disclose any details about the Red Magic 9S Pro. Rumors suggest that the device will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version chipset. It is nothing but an enhanced version of the SDS8G3.</p>

<p>To recall, Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip in October of last year. It offers a maximum processing speed of 3.36GHz. In January 2023, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S24 series, equipped with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-3">Snapdragon 8 Gen 3</a> chip for Galaxy. The said chipset is an overclocked version of the SD8G3, working at 3.9GHz.</p>

<p>The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version, which is expected to power the Red Magic 9S Pro, is likely to offer the same clocking speed of 3.39GHz. There is a possibility that it will also offer better GPU performance, like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version, which powered the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/zte-nubia-red-magic-8s-pro-2/">Red Magic 8S Pro</a> last year. To say it again, the Red Magic 9S Pro will be the first non-Samsung phone to feature an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.</p>

<p>The other specifications of the Red Magic 9S Pro are not known yet. However, it seems that the main difference between the 9S Pro and the existing 9 Pro is that the former will have a faster chipset.</p>

<p>Rumor has it that Nubia may reveal the Red Magic gaming laptop at the upcoming launch event, in addition to the Red Magic 9S Pro. The rumored specifications of this laptop include a 14th-generation Core i9 processor, an RTX 4070 independent graphics card, and an integrated metal body.</p>
