GizmoChina carried an exclusive leak yesterday that revealed the pricing, variants, and color editions of the Redmi 9. While Xiaomi is still silent on the arrival of the Redmi 9 series, leakster Sudhanshu Ambhore who had recently shared the specs sheet of the Redmi 9A, Redmi 9C NFC edition, Redmi 9C and Redmi 9 has now claimed that the Redmi 9 series scheduled to go official in the coming week. The Redmi 9 is now listed on the Lazada retailer site in the Philippines with full specs, pricing, and images.

Redmi 9 specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi 9 has a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with Dot Drop notch. It offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It protects the eyes of the users from harmful blue light.

The MediaTek Helio G80 chipset with LPDDR4x RAM powers the smartphone. The handset comes with eMMC 5.1 storage. It draws power from a 5,020mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through USB-C.

There is a unique circle decoration for the AI quad-camera on the back panel of the Redmi 9. It consists of a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with 118-degree field-of-view, a 5-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front side of the phone features an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

Some of the other features of the Redmi 9 include Android 10 OS with MIUI 11, dual-SIM slot, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE, GPS, IR blaster, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, AI face unlock noise-canceling microphones and 3.5mm audio jack. The handset measures 163.32 x 77.01 x 91mm and it weighs 198 grams. The back panel of the phone has a textured design that does not attract fingerprint marks.

Redmi 9 Pricing

The 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage of the Redmi 9 are priced at 6,990 Peso (~$324) and 7,490 Peso (~$347), respectively on Lazada. Grey, Purple, and Green are three color variants of the Redmi 9.
