Earlier this year, Xiaomi‘s sub-brand Redmi released a couple of numbered devices in India. These are the affordable Redmi 10 and the Redmi 10A. There is also a Redmi C which is not available in the Indian market. However, it appears that the company is not done with the Redmi 10 series in India, as there is another device on the way.

According to a screenshot shared by tipster Mukul Sharma, a device named the Redmi 10 2020 made an appearance on Xiaomi India’s website. No information other than the name is available at this moment but considering that there is no mention of 5G, we are likely looking at a 4G device.

We could also speculate that the device might be a Redmi 10C, but considering that the Redmi 10 is a better value for money compared to that device, it is highly unlikely.

So, what can we expect from the smartphone? Well, considering the fact that Redmi targets the Rs. 10,000-13,000 segment with their numbered devices, we could expect a Full HD display as many devices under Rs. 10,000 are already providing it in the Indian market. If this does happen then there is also a chance that we might get a weaker chipset with the device compared to the Redmi 10’s Snapdragon 680. This, however, is mere speculation right now, and we would like to wait for more information to surface to paint a clearer image.

In the meantime, we can look at the specification of the current Redmi 10 to get an idea of what to expect from the Redmi 10 2022.

Redmi 10 Specs

The Redmi 10 has a 6.71-inch display (LCD) with a resolution of 720 x 1650p (HD+) and a 60Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the phone comes with a Snapdragon 680 chipset paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 28GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It packs a giant 6,000mAh battery paired with 18W fast charging. As for the operating system, the device boots MIUI 13 based on Android 11 out of the box.

For optics, it has a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor on the back. Whereas, for selfies and video calls, there’s a 5MP shooter on the front. Leading global tech company Xiaomi has introduced its Redmi 10 2022 and Redmi 10A smartphones in Nigeria. The Redmi 10 2022 is a surprise entrant into the Redmi 10 series and it was first announced in February packing several impressive features. On the other hand, the Redmi 10A offers customers a great user experience to go with affordability.

Xiaomi Redmi 10 2022 sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ AdaptiveSync screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, and a sleek design. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, an octa-core processor with a 2.0Hz clock speed. The memory configurations of the Redmi 10 2022 include 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB, and 6GB/128GB.

The Redmi 10 2022 camera setup includes a 50MP AI quad-camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. The smartphone offers an array of options when creating videos and taking photos. The 8MP selfie camera delivers panoramic selfie shots interspersed with a beautiful environment.

The 2022 edition of the Redmi 10 has a long-lasting 5,000mAh battery which can last for 24 hours. The device can be charged quickly using the 22.5W charger.

On its part, the budget Redmi 10A packs a 6.53-inch HD+ display and a 3D curved design. It is an entry-level smartphone but it hopes to compete strongly in the Nigerian market considering its price offering and decent features. The smartphone features a fingerprint sensor at the back for enhanced security and a more convenient way to unlock the device. It has a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The Redmi 10A’s depth camera helps to achieve a natural blur effect in portrait backgrounds. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G25 chipset. The RAM/ internal storage configuration of the Redmi 10A are 2GB/32GB, 3GB/64GB, and 4GB/128GB.

The Redmi 10 2022 comes in carbon gray, pebble white, and sea blue colors and the base model will retail at NGN 92,000 (~$222). The Redmi 10A on the other hand comes in graphite gray, chrome silver, and sky blue colors. The Redmi 10A will retail between NGN 57,800 (~$140) and NGN 77,800 (~$188). The Redmi 10 2022 and Redmi 10A are available at all Xiaomi official sales outlets and authorized dealers across Nigeria.

Xiaomi is apparently gearing up to launch two new smartphones in India. The two devices were spotted on the BIS certification website and carried the model number of 22011119TI on the database and are believed to be Redmi and POCO branded handsets.

The certification listing was first spotted by known tipster Mukul Sharma who shared the news on Twitter. He further added that the two models might be the Redmi 10 Prime 2022 and its possible rebranded POCO model. If this is true, the 10 Prime 2022 arrives just a week after the Chinese tech giant launched the Redmi 10 2022. For those unaware, this model featured the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC, along with a 5,000mAh battery pack and 90Hz refresh rate.

It is also possible that the Prime variant is the rebadged version of the Redmi 10 2022, just like how the Redmi 10 2021 model was a rebrand of the Redmi 10 Prime 2021. Unfortunately, apart from the model number, the BIS certification listing did not reveal any other finer details regarding the upcoming smartphones. Although, it is believed to be similar if not identical to the Redmi 10 2022. Meaning, we will see similar specifications on two new devices in India, but under different brands.

Talking about the Redmi 10 2022, it packs the Helio G88 paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. On the front, it sports a 6.5 inch FHD+ LCD panel with 90Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It runs on Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 custom skin out of the box. Although Redmi has scheduled a February 9 event for the launch of the Redmi Note 11 series, it appears that the company is yet to finish off its 10-series in India. In the last few weeks, the Redmi 10 2022 model has got certified on a couple of certification sites confirming its existence. Now, the smartphone has yet again got certified, this time on the Geekbench portal.

The Redmi 10 2022 carries the model number 21121119VL. It has scored 367 points in the single-core department and 1253 points in the multi-core department. It is powered by the MediaTek MT6769H SoC. It is believed to be the Helio G88 chipset. The phone has 4GB of RAM and boots on Android 11 out of the box.

Previously, the phone appeared on the Google Play Console listing. It revealed that the Redmi 10 2022 edition has a Full-HD+ display. This is similar to the existing Redmi 10. It was spotted with the same chipset as the one seen on Geekbench but had 6GB of RAM. The 6GB RAM variant could be its top-most configuration other than the 4GB RAM variant.

Its FCC certification confirmed three models – 21121119SG, 22011119UY, and 21121119VL. The middle model was seen with storage options like 64GB and 128GB. The listing revealed MIUI 12.5 and Android 11 OS out of the box.

Earlier, a tipster revealed that the 2022 edition of the phone will have the same camera setup as the existing Redmi 10. He tipped that will come with a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 or OmniVision OV50C40 primary lens. It will be accompanied by an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor and a 2MP OmniVision OV02B1B or GC02M1B sensor.

Other than this, rumors are rife that the new Redmi 10 2022 will be a rebranded Redmi Note 11 4G China edition. If it is believed, then we might see a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.  It will have a side-facing fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi 10 2022 is in the news for the past few days. Going by the information so far, it appears to be a rebranded Redmi Note 11 4G for international markets. That said, ahead of its official announcement, the device now makes its appearance on Google Play Console.

According to Google Play Console, the upcoming Redmi 10 2022 will flaunt an FHD+ display. It will be powered by a MediaTek MT6769 chipset paired with 6GB RAM. Lastly, the handset will run Android 11.

In a nutshell, the listing does not reveal anything new about the phone. However, it suggests that the smartphone will launch very soon.

As mentioned earlier, the Redmi 10 2022 is most likely a rebranded Redmi Note 11 4G, which itself is almost identical to the Redmi 10 from a few months back. The only difference between the Redmi 11 4G and Redmi 10 is the rear camera setup.

The Redmi 10, which is also sold as Redmi 10 Prime in India, has a quad-camera array. The setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor. The Redmi Note 11 4G, on the other hand, has a triple camera array. It lacks the 2MP depth sensor, while the other cameras are the same.

The tipster has shared some information on the cameras of the Redmi 10 2022. At the same time, the handset has bagged several certifications indicating that it may go official soon.

The Redmi 10 2022 with model number 21121119SG has been certified by Indonesian certification sites such as TKDN and SDPPI. It has also bagged certifications from Europe’s EEC, Singapore’s IMDA, and TUV. A variant with model number 21121119VL has also appeared in TUV’s database.

According to Skrzypek, the Redmi 10 2022’s rear camera setup will include a Samsung S5KJN1 or OmniVision OV50C40 50-megapixel primary camera, a Sony IMX355 8-megapixel lens, and an OmniVision OV02B1B or GalaxyCore GC02M1B 2-megapixel camera. The tipster speculates that this device could be similar to the Redmi 10, which debuted in August.
