It has been reported that Xiaomi is working on the Redmi Note 6, a successor to the Redmi Note 5. The phone is supposed to be announced later this year and will join the already released Redmi 6A, Redmi 6, and Redmi 6 Pro. Ahead of the release, a live photo of the phone’s display assembly has leaked online.

The image source is a store on the online shopping site, AliExpress. The images uploaded show the screen has a small notch at the top, about the same size as that of the Redmi 6 Pro. The notch has three cut-outs for the sensor, earpiece, and front-facing camera.

The item description says the screen is 6.18” in size and has a resolution of 1080 x 2246. The display is also the LCD type which shouldn’t be a surprise since the Redmi series are supposed to be affordable. However, the price of the screen isn’t that cheap as the seller has slapped a $60 (excluding shipping) price tag on it. However, an on-going promotion will let you pick it up for $56.40.

While doing some digging around on the store, we stumbled upon the display of another unreleased phone – the Redmi 6 Plus. Yes, it appears there is going to be a Redmi 6 Plus and its screen is also listed for sale by the same seller. This listing is the first time we are hearing about the device.

According to the item description, the Redmi 6 Plus’ screen is 5.99-inches with a 1080 x 2160 resolution just like that of the Redmi 5 Plus (Redmi Note 5 in India) but the screen size is where the similarities end. The photo of the display assembly provided by the seller shows it has a notch and it is much bigger than that of the Redmi Note 6. It also has five cut-outs in total.

Two of the cut-outs seem to be for cameras which means it will pack dual front-facing cameras, one is for the speaker, another for the sensors and the last one is most likely for an LED flash. The Redmi 5 Plus has a single front-facing camera and a LED flash, so this is definitely a big upgrade if this listing is genuine. The price for the screen is $52 but it can be purchased for $48.88 for a limited time.

The listings may be genuine but the only errors we have spotted are the resolutions of the two displays. At least we are quite sure the Redmi 6 Plus can’t have that resolution with that notch.

Hopefully, more information about both devices will surface in the coming weeks.

In the previous month, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) had certified several existing and unannounced smartphones from Xiaomi. The smartphones approved by EEC are expected to debut in Europe in future. Few more Xiaomi handsets were also certified yesterday by the EEC.

Smartphones such as Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi 8 SE, Mi 8 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6S and Redmi 6X were certified by the EEC yesterday. As it can be seen, some of these smartphones have already launched in China, but Mi A2 Lite, Mi 8 Pro, Redmi 6S and 6X are yet to go official. EEC certificate was issued to these smartphones on June 14, 2018 and it is valid until January 2027.

The Mi A2 Lite with a model number of M1805D15SG was spotted at the Singapore’s Communications Authority in the previous month. Apart from this, there is no other information available on this smartphone.

Among the recently introduced Redmi 6 series, the Redmi 6 Pro features a notched 19:9 display whereas the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A phones have notch-less 18:9 display. Since the Redmi 6 and 6X are not “Pro” models, there is a possibility that they arrive with full screen design like the Redmi 6 and 6A smartphones.

The Mi 8 Pro was not announced at the launch event of Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Mi 8 SE that was held at the end of May. There is a possibility that the Mi 8 Pro could be nothing but the highest storage variant of the Mi 8 that features 256 GB of storage.

Apart from the aforementioned devices, smartphones like Mi 7 Lite, Mi Mix 2s, Mi Mix 3S, Mi S1, Mi S2, Mi S3, Redmi S1, Redmi S3, Redmi A1, Redmi A2, Redmi Note 6, Redmi Note 6A, Redmi Note 6A Prime, Redmi Note 6 Prime, Redmi 6 Plus, and Redmi 6A Plus were also approved by EEC in May. Xiaomi made its foray into the Eastern Europe earlier this year including its launch in Russia and it is also working on expanding its business in Western Europe. Hence, it appears that all the Xiaomi phones that have been approved by EEC recently may soon begin launching in Europe.

Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro/Plus that is rumored to feature a notched display was expected to debut alongside the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A earlier this week, but Xiaomi did not announce it. The Redmi 6 Pro not only exists, but so does the other products like Mi Pad 4 and Mi Max 3 as their names have been found in the internal code of the official Chinese website of Xiaomi. Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi has already confirmed that the Mi Max 3 phablet will be debuting in July. It is likely that the Redmi 6 Pro and Mi Pad 4 may also get unveiled at the same event.

According to the TENAA listing of Xiaomi M150D1SE that is speculated to debut as Redmi 6 Pro, it features a 19:9 aspect ratio supporting display of 5.84 inches which produces FHD+ resolution. It is driven by 2.0 GHz octa-core processor. Its variants include 16 GB storage + 2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM and 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM. It is packed with a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

A Xiaomi phone with model number of M1807E8S that was recently approved by 3C body in China is rumored to break cover as Mi Max 3.  Rumors have it that it has 6.99-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 710 chipset, 4 GB and 6 GB RAM variants, massive 5,500mAh battery and dual camera setup with 20-megapixel Sony IMX363 as primary sensor.

Leaked firmware files of the alleged Mi Pad 4 that had surfaced around two months ago had revealed that it will be driven by under clocked Snapdragon 660 chipset, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera and 6,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi has recently started the beta testing of the MIUI 10. The beta edition is coming to wide range of devices Xiaomi devices in this month. Last year, Xiaomi had introduced the Xiaomi Mi 5X and MIUI 9 through a launch event in July.

The Mi Max 3 is already confirmed to debut in July. The company may use the same platform to not only unleash Redmi 6 Pro and Mi Pad 4, but also to confirm the arrival of the global stable ROM of MIUI 10.

Yesterday, Xiaomi had confirmed that it will be announcing the Redmi 6 series on June 12. It is speculated that Xiaomi will be debuting the Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro/Plus smartphones on the said date. Without mentioning more on the Redmi 6 series, the company has claimed that it will be a surprise upgrade. The Chinese manufacturer has released a fresh teaser today through which the company has promised that there will be no lags on Redmi 6 in long-term use.

The makers of Android flagship phones extend the lifespan of these devices by releasing regular updates. Hence, even after using for longer period, some flagship phones still deliver lag-free performance. However, entry-level and low-budget phones tend to lag in long-term use. The new teaser by Xiaomi reveals that the Redmi 6 won’t encounter such an issue.

The company did not reveal what sort of optimization will be available on the smartphone for lag-free performance. It is likely that the handset may come loaded with the latest MIUI 10 ROM which is said to deliver faster performance than MIUI 9. With deep integration of AI, the MIUI 10 will be able to under the usage pattern of the user to deliver optimized performance.

Yesterday, when Xiaomi had claimed on Weibo that it would be announcing something new today. Since then, netizens started speculating that the company may announce the arrival of Xiaomi Redmi 6 series. Today, the Chinese manufacturer has released an official poster on Weibo to confirm that it will indeed announce the Redmi 6 (or Redmi 6 series) on June 12.

Just before Xiaomi’s May 31 Shenzhen event that unveiled the Mi 8 series, Mi Band 3 and MIUI 10, a mid-range phone from the company having a model number of M1805D1SE had bagged certification from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT). Hence, Xiaomi fans were expecting that the M1805D1SE smartphone may also get unveiled on May 31, but it did not happen so. It seems that the M1805D1SE that was recently certified could be the Redmi 6 smartphone.

The above shown launch poster only confirms the June 12 launch date for Xiaomi Redmi 6. However, it does not reveal how many smartphones will be announced on the said date. It is speculated that the Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro/Plus may also get unleashed alongside the Redmi 6 on June 12.

The TENAA listing of the M1805D1SE has revealed that it will be sporting a notched display. It includes a 5.84-inch display that offers Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is driven by an octa-core processor that has a processing speed of 2.0 GHz. It could be the Snapdragon 625 SoC.
