Xiaomi had announced the Redmi 7A smartphone in China just over a month ago. The entry-level Xiaomi phone is now on its way to Europe. It is expected to be priced around 100 euros (~$112). The smartphone could be available in European markets starting from June 21. However, dealers in Europe may start the sales of the phone from the coming month.

Xiaomi Redmi 7A Specifications

The Redmi 7A that measures 9.6mm in thickness and weighs 165 grams comes with a polycarbonate with splash-resistant coating. It is fitted with a 5.45-inch notch-less display that is surrounded by thick bezels. It supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS comes preinstalled on the Redmi 7A smartphone. The 12nm Snapdragon 439 is present under the hood of the device along with up to 3 GB of RAM. There is a dedicated slot for adding a microSD card for extra storage. The smartphone is packed with a big battery of 4,000mAh capacity that supports 10W charging.

The Redmi 7A is available in China in two models such as 2 GB RAM + 16 GB storage and 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage. Both are respectively priced at 549 Yuan (~$79) and 599 Yuan (~$86). It comes in two color options such as Morning Blue and Matte Black.

The Xiaomi Redmi 7A has not been officially announced in Europe yet. It is speculated that the variants of Redmi 7A that were released in China will be also made available in the European markets.

In related news, a new Xiaomi phone with model number M1906F9SC was spotted on the database of China’s 3C authority recently. Since it was spotted with 10W charger, it was believed that it could be an upcoming mid-range phone from the company. Some sources are speculating that it could be the Redmi 7 Pro. It is advisable to wait for further reports to confirm on the arrival of Redmi 7 Pro.

Fresh information shared by Indian tipster Ishan Agarwal reveals that Redmi 7 will be launching in India soon. He also revealed that Xiaomi is prepping up to launch Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7A phones in the country.

According to Agarwal, Xiaomi may launch the selfie-centric Redmi Y3 phone in India in May. Before its launch, the company will be releasing the Redmi 7 handset in India. Hence, there is a possibility that the Redmi 7 may go official later this month.

The Chinese manufacturer is also preparing a budget smartphone with model number C3F, claims the tipster. Probably, it may debut as Redmi 7A to replace the Redmi 6A entry-level smartphone from last year.

In March, the Redmi Y3 smartphone (M1810F6G) had received Wi-Fi certification. It had confirmed that the phone carries support for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and it runs on Android 9 Pie OS. A newer report had revealed that the Redmi Y3 phone could be arriving in some markets Redmi 7 Pro. There is no information available on the specs of the phone yet. The Redmi 7 smartphone feature a 6.26-inch display. The waterdrop-styled notched screen offers 19:9 aspect ratio and HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 632 SoC powers it along with up to 4 GB of RAM. It has an inbuilt storage of up to 64 GB and it features a dedicated slot for adding a microSD card.

The MIUI 10 based Android 9 Pie OS comes loaded on the device. Its rear side features 12-megapixel + 2-megapixel dual camera setup and a fingerprint reader. It is equipped with a selfie camera of 8-megapixel. The phone is packed with a 4,000mAh battery. In China, the 2 GB RAM + 16 GB storage, 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage are respectively priced at 699 Yuan (~$104; Rs. 7,200), 799 Yuan (~$118; Rs. 8,200) and 899 Yuan (~$134; Rs. 9,200).

A few days ago, we reported that a new phone called the Redmi Y3 received its Wi-Fi certification. The phone which will run Android Pie out of the box may actually go by another name in some markets. To be specific, this may be the same device that will be sold as the Redmi 7 Pro.

A finding carried out by XDA-Developers has shown that the unreleased Redmi Y3 has nearly the same model number as the Redmi 7 but its actually their codenames that shows the key info. The Redmi Y3’s model number is M1810F6G and its device codename is “onc_global”.

The already released Redmi 7 has multiple model numbers – M1810F6LG for the global variant, M1810F6LI for the Indian variant, and there is M1810F6LH which is also a global variant. You can see they all share the first seven characters with the Redmi Y3. The codenames for all three Redmi 7 phones are “onclite”, “onclite_india”, and “onclite_global_b” respectively.

The “lite” in the codenames shows they are less-specced models of “onc_global”. So if “onclite” is the Redmi 7, “onc” should be the Redmi 7 Pro.

Let’s also not forget that last year’s Redmi 6 Pro is known outside China as the Android One Mi A2 Lite. Does this mean the Redmi Y3 a.k.a. Redmi 7 Pro, is also the Mi A3 Lite? Since none of the aforementioned codenames have the suffix “ _sprout” which is a trait of Android One phones, one can hold the thought.

There are two other devices with model numbers and codenames similar to that of the Redmi Y3, one is M1810F6H (“onc_global_b”) and the other is M1810F6I (“onc_india”). The Xiaomi Redmi 7 has been approved by multiple certification bodies in the recent past. Today, the smartphone has been certified by NBTC in Thailand and TKDN in Indonesia. Now that the phone has bagged approval from multiple bodies, it appears that its global launch is close at hand.

The NBTC and TKDN listings of the M180F6LG model number have not revealed any information on its specifications. As Singapore’s IMDA body had certified the M180F6LG as Redmi 7, the NBTC certification also confirms the same moniker. In the previous, the FCC body in the U.S. had also certified by the M180F6LG smartphone.

Through the FCC listing it was revealed that the handset could be arriving with a display of around 6.2 inches. The dimensions of the handset are 157 x 76mm. The MIUI 10 based Android OS will be available preinstalled on the handset. The FCC documents have revealed that the Redmi 7 has three modes like 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 3 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage.

The 3C authority of China had three model numbers of the smartphone such as M180F6LE, M180F6LC and M180F6LT. It also confirmed that the phone will be shipped with a 10W charger. It indicated that the phone could be packed with modest specs.

Redmi is yet to confirm on the existence of the Redmi 7 series. The company has recently launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone in India. In China, the handset will be announced on March 18. Probably, the Chinese manufacturer may announce the Redmi 7 by the end of this month or early next month. It could be priced between 700 and 800 Yuan ($104 to $119).

The Redmi Note 7 Pro that was announced yesterday comes with a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display and an attractive glass rear. Xiaomi has just launched the Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9 Explorer Edition and Mi 9 SE smartphones in China. Very soon its independent Redmi brand will be also debuting the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone in the home market. It appears that the Redmi 7 series will also arrive in quick succession since it has been approved by FCC authority in the U.S.

The FCC authority has a Xiaomi phone with model number M180F6LG. None of the FCC documents carry the Redmi 7 moniker. However, when the same model number was approved by IMDA agency of Singapore earlier this month, it was revealed that it will be hitting the market as Redmi 7. Apart from being approved by FCC and IMDA authorities, the Redmi 7 has also received certification from 3C authority of China earlier this month.

The 3C certification of the Redmi 7 had revealed that it carries support for 10W charging. The 3C body had approved three variants of the phone such as M180F6LE, M180F6LC and M180F6LK. Through the FCC certification, it has been revealed that the phone measures 157 x 76mm. Diagonally, it measures 167mm which suggests that it could be coming with a screen size of around 6.2 inches. The rear image of the phone that has appeared in the FCC documents shows that it features a single camera on its rear. This seems a bit strange since the predecessor Redmi 6 phone had come with dual rear cameras.

The Android 9 Pie OS could be available on the device. FCC reveals that the phone features MIUI 10 user interface. It has been also found that the Redmi 7 will be arriving in three options in the international markets like 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 3 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. Three model numbers such as M1901F7C, M1901F7E and M1901F7T have now surfaced on TENAA with preliminary specs just ahead of the Jan. 10 launch event. The TENAA listing of the smartphone clearly says that the phone will come with a notched display, similar to Redmi 6 Pro. However, unlike the Redmi 6 Pro’s rectangular notch, the upcoming smartphone will sport a tiny water-drop notch, in line with the current trend.

Further, the listing reveals that it will come with a 5.84-inch display, which we expect to offer a Full HD+ screen resolution with 19:9 aspect ratio and some sort of screen protection on top such as Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone’s dimensions are also confirmed — 147.76×71.89×7.8mm.

Under the hood, the phone will be powered by a 2,900mAh battery. The phone will be powered by an Android-based MIUI 10, however, the specific Android version has not been revealed. Also, the phone features a dual camera setup on the back, powered by artificial intelligence. It also packs a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added protection.

The phone is speculated to be the Redmi 7 or Redmi 7 Pro given that the Redmi 6 and 6 Pro both comes with a 5.45-inch display and dimension measurement is also similar. If the M1901F9T is indeed the Redmi 7 series phone, it will be a significant improvement in terms of the screen-to-body ratio.

The “M19” in the phone’s model number indicates that the phone will be launched next year. This is in line with previous reports suggesting new Redmi smartphones launch in January 2019. We expect to get more information about the phone’s specifications in the coming days.

Notably, other smartphone models from Xioami which have already passed the certification stage, including M1901F7C, M1901F7E, and M1901F7T, are also expected to be a part of the upcoming Redmi 7 series.

One of the recently certified phones from Xioami could be the one featuring 48-megapixel camera sensor. A recent report speculates that a Redmi series smartphone will pack a 48-megapixel camera sensor, which will be a part of a triple-camera setup. The phone could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 chipset.

The phone with a 48MP rear camera is also reported to have a punch-hole in the display to incorporate the selfie camera. Just like the Samsung Galaxy A8s and Honor View 20, this Xiaomi device will have an LCD panel provided by China-based display manufacturing company BOE.
