Xiaomi recently hosted a launch event for the Xiaomi 15 series smartphones, the Pad 7 series tablets Watch S4, and Smart Band 9 Pro. Alongside these devices, the company has also quietly introduced the Redmi Band 3, a successor to the popular Redmi Band 2.

Redmi Band 3 features

The Redmi Band 3 retains the familiar design of its predecessor, featuring a 1.47-inch display with a 320 x 172-pixel resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. The screen is surrounded by silicone straps that are available in multiple colors including white, pink, yellow, black, and dark gray. The watch has an ultra-thin body measuring just 9.99mm, and it weighs 16.5g.

The new band offers several improvements over its predecessor, including Bluetooth 5.3 for enhanced connectivity, 5ATM water resistance, and NFC for contactless payments. However, it lacks a built-in GPS, which might limit its functionality for outdoor activities. It has 50 sports modes, along with All-Day Heart Rate Monitoring, All-Day Blood Oxygen Monitoring, and Scientific Sleep Tracking.

The smart band operates Xiaomi HyperOS and offers 100+ personalized watch faces. The watch is powered by a 300mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims can last up to 18 days on a single charge in standard mode. With heavy usage, you can expect it to last around 9 days.

Pricing & availability

Currently, the Redmi Band 3 is available in China for 159 yuan (~$22)in black and beige color options. While it’s unclear if the device will be launched globally, the previous generation’s international availability suggests that the Redmi Band 3 may eventually make its way to other markets.

In other news, Redmi is expected to announce the Redmi K80 series soon, with models already receiving approval from China’s 3C certification platform. The Redmi K80 (model 24122RKC7C) will reportedly include a 120W fast charger and is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Its global variant will be marketed as the Poco F7 Ultra. The Redmi K80 Pro (model 24127RK2CC) is also set to feature a 120W charger and the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, but will likely remain exclusive to China.

The Chinese tech giant has officially announced that the Redmi Band 3 will go on sale in China on October 29 at 10 AM (Local Time in China). As the name suggests, the wearable is a new smart band from Xiaomi’s budget subsidiary. It is also the direct successor to the Redmi Band 2. The Redmi Band 3 is set to launch for enhanced user interaction. The smart wearable features a rectangular color display with a 60Hz refresh rate.

Its screen is surrounded by silicone straps and can be seen in multiple color options. This includes a white, pink, yellow, black, and dark gray. The upcoming smart band has also been confirmed to offer an ultra long battery life of up to 18 days. Redmi has also confirmed that it will arrive with all day health monitoring systems.
