Two more smartphones have started receiving the MIUI 13 update. These devices are POCO F3 and Redmi K30 4G. The former is the international version of Redmi K40, which had already received this update earlier. On the other hand, the latter is the 4G variant of Redmi K30 in China, which also goes by the name of POCO X2 in India.

The MIUI 13 update for the POCO F3 is currently only live for the EEA version of the handset. It arrives with build number V13.0.3.0.SKHEUXM. Whereas, the same update for the Redmi K30 4G comes with build number V13.0.1.0.SGHCNXM.

The latest software update for the phones also bumps up the Android version to Android 12. Further, like most OTA system updates, the aforementioned software builds are also being pushed in batches.

In simpler words, the update is only available for a select few users at the moment. But it will be made available for everyone in the coming days. At the same time, we also expect other regional variants of the smartphone to bag the update.

If you are following Xiaomi closely, you might be aware that the company has been rolling out MIUI 12.5 update to eligible devices for the past few months. The latest smartphones to receive this update are Redmi K30 4G (aka POCO X2) and Mi 10T Lite.

The Redmi K30 4G was announced alongside the Redmi K30 5G in late December 2019. This device later launched as POCO X2 in Inida. Xiaomi is now rolling out MIUI 12.5 update for the original version of the handset sold in China.

The Redmi K30 4G MIUI 12.5 update arrives with build number V12.5.1.0.RGHCNXM. The last major update for this phone was Android 11, which was seeded out in early January 2021. Before that, it was one of the first handsets to get MIUI 12 update last year.

On the other hand, the MIUI 12.5 update for the Mi 10T Lite is currently live for the ‘Global’ variant with build number V12.5.1.0.RJSMIXM. Android 11 was also its last major update. But unlike the Redmi K30 4G, this smartphone debuted with MIUI 12 out of the box.

The Mi 10T Lite is also known as Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G in China and Mi 10i in India. The only difference is that the Mi 10T Lite features a 64MP primary camera instead of a 108MP shooter like the other two.

Since the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has already received the latest MIUI update last month, only Mi 10i is left to get it. But it should receive the update soon along with POCO X2.

Xiaomi was part of the official Android 11 Beta program. Hence, the company was one of the first to start rolling out stable update to its devices. Currently, a handful of phones from the firm are already on Android 11 stable worldwide. Now, Redmi K30 4G has also joined this elite list of smartphones running the latest version of Android.

For those unaware, the Redmi K30 4G started receiving MIUI weekly builds based on Android 11 back in late October. However, it took Xiaomi over two months to deliver the first stable build for this device.

That said, the update comes with build number V12.1.3.0.RGHCNXM and brings the December 2020 security patch apart from the newest version of Android. It is currently in the Stable Beta phase and therefore, it is only available to select users.

Also, since the Redmi K30 4G is exclusive to China, it only has a single variant of the software build. Hence, if you have imported this handset, you should also get the update as soon as the build’s availability has been extended.

On the other hand, this very same phone is also sold as POCO X2 in India. Since both of them share everything unlike the other POCO devices that are slightly different, it should also receive the Android 11 update very soon.

There are big changes coming to the current Redmi lineup according to info from China. The source, who is known for credible leaks, says the changes are based on the manufacturer betting big on 5G.

According to Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi (Redmi) will discontinue the Redmi K30 4G that it announced in December 2019. There is no news on how soon that will happen but even if its six months after (3 months from now), it sure is a big deal.

The Redmi K30 4G is powered by the Snapdragon 730G processor and is sold in India as the POCO X2. While 5G is yet to be available in India, it is already available in lots of cities in China. However, Redmi decided to launch both a 4G version and a 5G version of the phone in its home country, so those who do not want to pick up a 5G phone have an option.

The leaker adds that Redmi is planning a new Redmi K30 5G that will be cheaper than the current model. This version may be referred to as a “Lite” or “Youth Edition”. The price range is said to be between ¥1500 (~$211) and ¥2000 (~$281). The base model of the Redmi K30 5G is ¥1999, so this “Redmi K30 5G Lite” should sell for less.

It was previously reported that Redmi will be the first manufacturer to announce a phone powered by the Dimensity 800 5G chipset. While we predicted it may be a version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro for China, it may actually be the new Redmi K30 5G phone.

The Redmi Note 9 series is yet to launch in China. A few weeks ago, it was reported that the series may not be announced in the country since they are 4G phones and thus do not meet Lu Weibing’s “5G for China” requirement.

POCO fans are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the POCO F2 – the successor of the POCO F1. POCO is soon expected to unveil new phones in India. Rumors have it that its upcoming phones are POCO F2, POCO F2 Lite and POCO X2. Fresh evidences reveal that have surfaced suggests that the POCO X2 could be the first phone to debut in India. A new report on XDA Developers cites information a Polish website that has carried a leaked photo of the purported POCO X2 phone. Also, the Polish site has revealed some screenshots taken from the device through which its key specifications have been revealed. The fresh leak indicates that Redmi K30 4G that had gone official in China last month will be probably arriving in India as POCO X2.

The real-life image of the purported POCO X2 shows that there is a pill-shaped camera cutout on the display for its dual front-facing cameras. The Redmi K30 4G for China has the same display design. Moreover, the image reveals the POCO X2 name on its About Phone page.

The above shown video showcases the About Phone and All Specs pages of the POCO X2 phone. It has been found the model number of M1912G7BE. This model number along with M1912G7BC belongs to the Redmi K30 4G. Those pages further reveal that it is fueled by an octa-core processor that clocks at 2.2GHz. It seems to be the Snapdragon 730G.

The SoC is coupled with 8 GB of RAM. The native storage of the device is 256 GB. The phone is running on MIUI 11.0.2 (global edition) based Android 10 OS. The leak further reveals that the device is preinstalled with ‘pheonixin’ ROM. The same codename was spotted on Geekbench of the POCO X2 last week. Phoenix is the codename of the Redmi K30 4G phone and inclusion of ‘in’ suffix suggests that the POCO X2 that appeared on Geekbench could be Indian version of the Redmi K30 4G.

The Polish site has further stated that the alleged POCO X2 does not seem to support 120Hz refresh rate. Also, it could not be confirmed whether the phone has NFC support. In December, a Redmi phone with model number M1912G7BI had surfaced at the database of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Since the model number is associated with Redmi K30 4G, it was believed India will be receiving it soon. However, recently the M1912G7BI was moved to POCO section at BIS. This suggested that the India could be receiving the Redmi K30 4G as POCO X2. The screenshot shown above has been snapped from POCO’s recent teaser on Twitter. It reveals that the upcoming device from POCO could be indeed called POCO X2. Readers are advised to take the report with a grain of salt and wait for further leaks to know the full specifications of POCO X2.

Redmi, a subsidiary of Xiaomi, has just launched its latest smartphone in its flagship series, the Redmi K30. It arrived in two variants, namely a 5G and 4G versions, which were officially unveiled yesterday (10th December 2019).

On 11th December 2019, Redmi’s General Manager said in a statement that, this time, the company has prepared sufficient stock for the Redmi K30 smartphones. Lu Weibing went on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging site, to share this statement to disprove any rumors or false information spreading which would discourage any potential buyer.

This arrives after the Redmi K30’s stocks came in to question which the Senior Executive dispelled as being untrue. Additionally, the smartphone’s camera module, which is Sony’s IMX686, was also rumored to be facing technical difficulties in its mass production. However, since the General Manager of the company himself has assured everyone of no such issues, then we can expect this to not be an actual worry anymore for would-be buyers.

Lu Weibing also went on to reveal the date for Redmi K30 4G variants sale alongside a few of its key specs. Notably, during the launch of the Redmi K30 no specific date was given regarding both variants’ actual availability for sale. But now, it is confirmed that the 4G variant will be available from 10 pm on the 12th of December 2019 in China (12.12.19). On the other hand, the 5G variant will release next year sometime in January 2020.

In a few hours, the Redmi K30 smartphone will be officially launched in China. While the company has not revealed anything about the phone’s availability in other regions so far, it seems that the India launch of Redmi K30 isn’t far away.

The Redmi K30 smartphone has passed through India’s BIS certification process. The listing reveals that the phone will carry a model number M191G7BI and will be assembled in the county by Flextronics Technologies.

While the exact launch date isn’t revealed, it could be just weeks after China launch today or early 2020. However, the Redmi K30 4G-only variant should be coming to India as the 5G infrastructure isn’t ready in the country.

As per the rumors, the 4G variant of the smartphone is expected to come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor. The Redmi K30 will be Redmi’s first 5G smartphone but it appears there will be a 4G variant too. This should have a cheaper price tag and will most likely be the variant that will launch in countries where 5G is yet to go mainstream. Specs of this 4G variant have now leaked on Weibo.

These specs are a bit similar to those that leaked yesterday but there are some key differences too. According to the source who goes by Meng Chen Guangyu, the Redmi K30 4G will have a 6.66-inch FHD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. It is an LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Redmi will use COF packaging technology for production and the phone will have Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The leakster adds that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 730G processor which is a more powerful version of the Snapdragon 730 inside the Redmi K20. The base model will have 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage but we expect there will be an 8GB RAM model and storage variants will reach 256GB.

Unlike yesterday’s leak which said the primary rear camera is a 60MP Sony IMX686, this one says the primary rear camera is a 64MP sensor and it is paired with an 8MP telephoto camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP sensor which should be for macro photography. The selfie cameras are also different. Rather than a 32MP + ToF sensor, this says it is a 20MP + 2MP depth sensor.

The Redmi K30 4G will have multi-function NFC, an IR blaster, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Its battery is also not 5000mAh but 4500mAh which is still bigger than that of its predecessor. There is also support for 27W fast charge just like w have on the Mi 9. The phone will run MIUI 11 based on Android 10 out of the box and have a starting price of ¥1999 (~$285).

Just like yesterday’s leak, we advise you to take the above specs with a grain of salt.
