It is the successor to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi-redmi-k20-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">K20 Pro</a> and is currently the fast smartphone from the Xiaomi subsidiary. However, many people were quick to notice and point out that the newly announced smartphone didn&#8217;t feature a high refresh rate. Now, Lu Weibing, the General Manager of Redmi, has finally responded with the answer.</p>
<p>Back in December 2019, Redmi K30 was announced which featured a 120Hz display. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi-k30/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The K30</a> is the base variant in the series while the K30 Pro is meant to be the premium flagship. So it comes as no surprise that fans of the series would convey criticism. Thus, to answer this, the senior executive also mentioned why a lower refresh rate was used during the press conference.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-312332" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/REdmi-K30-Pro-5G-01.jpg?x44794" alt="REdmi K30 Pro 5G 01" width="490" height="654" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/REdmi-K30-Pro-5G-01.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/REdmi-K30-Pro-5G-01-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/REdmi-K30-Pro-5G-01-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 490px) 100vw, 490px" /></p>
<p>According to Lu Weibing, the specifications of both the Redmi K30 and K30 Pro had been determined about 10 months prior. Hence, it wasn&#8217;t a last minute change but rather a conscious and well thought out decision. Apparently, this move to include a standard refresh rate was to take two things into account, namely a true full screen experience and battery life.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/24/redmi-k30-pro-5g-pro-zoom-editions-launch-specs-price-cameras/">Redmi K30 Pro 5G &amp; Pro Zoom Edition launched in China with SD865 &amp; 64MP Quad cameras</a></strong></h6>
<p>In other words, the Chinese smartphone maker had to choose between a higher refresh rate or better battery performance for its full screen experience. And we all know that Redmi chose battery, stating that even a 90Hz display would&#8217;ve chewed through the battery pack too quickly.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-311245" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Redmi-K30-Pro-display.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi" width="431" height="575" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Redmi-K30-Pro-display.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Redmi-K30-Pro-display-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Redmi-K30-Pro-display-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 431px) 100vw, 431px" /></p>
<p>Regardless, the brand states that the Redmi K30 Pro is still the flagship even in the display category since its features Samsung&#8217;s E3 AMOLED panel alongside 180Hz touch sampling rate, with support for HDR 10+, supports TÜV Rheinland Global Eye Care Certification and a peak brightness of an impressive 1200 nits. So comment down below on what you think about the bold move from Redmi.</p>

Ahead of the launch, instead of giving room for fake leaks, the company has consistently released teasers revealing the features of the device.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-3.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-311113" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-3.jpg?x44794" alt="redmi K30 Pro" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-3.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-3-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-3-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>No doubt about the fact that the Redmi K30 Pro will be a flagship model but what the latest teasers are suggesting is a powerful game-centric machine crammed with top-of-the-pack features. One of the company&#8217;s latest teaser posters reveals that the device will come with the TÜV Rheinland High Gaming Performance Certification.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-311112" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi K30 Pro" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-2.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-2-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-2-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>In addition, a second poster confirms the presence of Game Turbo 3.0 optimisation bringing several features like <span class="goog-text-highlight">game suspension windows, variable sound, night vision, and others. Furthermore, the Redmi K30 Pro display will equally come with a</span><span class="goog-text-highlight"> mechanical keyboard-like tactile feedback feature which will come in useful not just for typing but also during gaming. The virtual keypad will send some 4D immersive tactile response during gaming actions such as firing.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-311111" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/redmi-k30-pro-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/17/redmi-k30-pro-to-feature-a-vc-liquid-cooled-heat-sink-to-improve-performance/">Earlier teasers have also confirmed</a> the presence of UFS 3.1 flash storage and VC liquid cooling system onboard the K30 pro which allows for better heat dispersion and lowers overall temperatures during extended or intensive periods of smartphone usage. Sadly, Xiaomi ha also revealed that the device will only support 60Hz refresh rate.</p>
<p>As for the key specs, the Redmi K30 Pro is expected to come with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/120hz">120Hz refresh rate</a> and in-display fingerprint scanner. It is also expected to have pop-up front-facing camera setup for taking selfies and video calling and rear quad-camera setup.</p>

<p>The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 865 chipset bringing 5G compatibility. The device will get its power from a 4,700mAh battery that will come with support for 33W fast charging support.
