A Xiaomi teaser of the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition has been released on Weibo. The device had been previously rumored as the Redmi K50 Ultra or Redmi K50S Pro but we now know its correct name. The latest Xiaomi flagship under the Redmi brand will be powered by the top-end Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset as revealed in the teaser. The Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is scheduled to be launched this month.

The teaser was uploaded by Xiaomi on its official Weibo handle and it is possible that the smartphone could still bear the Redmi K50 Ultra moniker, going by Xiaomi’s previous antecedents. In 2020, The Redmi K30 Ultra was marketed as the Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset in the new smartphone means that it comes with exquisite power and performance. Xiaomi says the model will be the ultimate masterpiece of the K50 universe.

Xiaomi has not provided a specific date for the launch of the K50 Extreme Edition. It is however known that it will debut first in China as the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition. The global edition will reportedly be named Xiaomi 12 T Pro. The model recently surfaced on the IMEI database. In addition to the SD 8+ Gen 1 SoC, it has a 120Hz AMOLED panel, a 200MP camera, and features 120W wired charging. As the days draw by, the finer optics of the launch and full specs of the smartphone will surface.
