<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/xiaomi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi</a>‘s new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/hyperos/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">HyperOS</a> update is coming soon to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-note-11-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G</a> model. This was confirmed by <em>GSMChina</em>, who found the HyperOS test build for the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G in XIaomi&#8217;s internal server.</p>

<p>According to the source, the HyperOS builds for the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G model have firmware version OS1.0.0.1.TGDMIXM and OS1.0.0.1.TGDEUXM. These builds are currently undergoing testing, suggesting an official rollout in the near future.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-HyperOS-Update.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="209" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-HyperOS-Update.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-589313" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-HyperOS-Update.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-HyperOS-Update-300x70.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-HyperOS-Update-768x178.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-HyperOS-Update-696x162.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></a></figure></div>

<p>The HyperOS update for the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G will be based on Android 13, as indicated by the code snippet &#8220;<strong><em>[codebase] =&gt; 13.0</em></strong>&#8220;. This aligns with Xiaomi&#8217;s typical software update policy for its budget Redmi Note series, which provides two years of major platform updates.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Since the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G launched with Android 11, it has already received its two major upgrades up to Android 13. While this may be disappointing for some users, it&#8217;s still great to see Xiaomi offering the HyperOS update to the Redmi Note 11 series.&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>GSMChina </em>suggests that the update is expected to roll out in Q2 2024, with HyperOS Pilot Testers likely receiving it first. If you&#8217;re interested in getting the update early, you can <a href="https://sg.m.beehive.miui.com/hm1g5J9F4wLbtz5Vsboj2w/desktop/home" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">apply </a>to the HyperOS Pilot Tester program.</p>

<p>To recap, the Note 11 Pro boasts a vibrant 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and 1200 nits of brightness. Around the back, it has a 108MP quad-camera setup for capturing photos and videos.&nbsp;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-1024x754-1.png?x44794" alt="" /></figure></div>

<p>The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G96 processor and comes with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, expandable via microSD. A hefty 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging keeps you going.</p>

<p>Likewise, it features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, and a headphone jack for an immersive experience. Additionally, it comes with IR blaster support.</p>

<h1><b>Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G vs Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G</b></h1>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><b>Build and Design</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G feature an identical design, dimensions, and weight. They measure 164.19 x 76.1 x 8.12mm in dimensions and weigh 202g. They sport a flat frame and a rectangular camera island on the rear.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The phones not only use a glass panel on the back but are also IP53-rated for dust and splash resistance. They come in two common colors (Graphite Gray, Polar White) and one exclusive color (4G &#8211; Star Blue, 5G &#8211; Atlantic Blue).</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><b>Display</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Both the devices sport the same 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), 395 PPI, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The screen supports DCI-P3 color gamut, 4,500,000:1 contrast ratio, 700 nits typical brightness, and up to 1200 nits peak brightness.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The panel has a centered punch-hole and is compatible with </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-13/"><span style="font-weight: 400">MIUI</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">’s Sunlight Display and Reading Mode 3.0</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">But both of them have the matching LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. In fact, they also arrive in identical memory configurations, like 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB.</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><b>Cameras</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">First and foremost, the duo nests a 16MP selfie camera inside the punch-hole on the front. Secondly, the 5G model has a triple camera setup on the rear instead of quad like the 4G version.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The only difference is that the Remi Note 11 Pro 5G lacks the fourth 2MP depth sensor, which is found on the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G. Other than that, both have a 108MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro snapper.</span></p>

<h2><b>Connectivity and Ports</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">As their names suggest, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G only supports 4G, while the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G can connect to a 5G network. They feature a dual-SIM card slot, however, it is of the hybrid type.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Further, the duo arrives with dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.1, GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO), and NFC (market dependent).</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Finally, they have a 3.5mm headphone jack, in addition to a USB Type-C port.</span></p>

The lineup consists of four models. However, we only found one of them to be the best deal of all. We are talking about the Redmi Note 11S here. This phone bridges the gap between the Redmi Note 11 and the Redmi Note 11 Pro with a balanced set of features, which makes it an irresistible offering from Xiaomi.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Here in this opinion piece, we explain why we feel that most people should opt for the Redmi Note 11S instead of the Redmi Note 11 Pro, especially the 4G variant.</span></p>
<h2><b>Almost the Same Inside Out</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Redmi Note 11 series brings a new design to Xiaomi’s best-selling smartphone lineup worldwide. The phones now have a flat frame like the newer iPhones. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">However, the one on the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G/5G is more pronounced than on the Redmi Note 10/10S. Because the latter two handsets have a curved rear panel instead of flat like the former models.</span></p>
<p><figure id="attachment_440132" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-440132" style="width: 696px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-440132 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Global-Featured-A-1-1024x682.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Note 11 Global" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Global-Featured-A-1-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Global-Featured-A-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Global-Featured-A-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Global-Featured-A-1-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Global-Featured-A-1-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Global-Featured-A-1-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Global-Featured-A-1.jpg 1723w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-440132" class="wp-caption-text">Redmi Note 11</figcaption></figure></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">But the Pros are longer, thicker, and heavier. They even have a larger and better display. More on that later.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Like the previous generation, all four devices arrive with dual stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a z-axis linear vibration motor, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, and NFC (market dependent). </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Interestingly, all of them are backed by an identical 5,000mAh battery. They also feature the same LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.</span></p>
<h2><b>Is the Pro really a PRO?</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Pro in the consumer electronics market means better. But it does not say how much better. This is where the problem lies. Neither everyone requires a Pro model, nor every Pro variant offers better value than the vanilla version.</span></p>
<p><figure id="attachment_440131" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-440131" style="width: 696px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-440131 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-Global-Featured-A-1024x683.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G Global" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-Global-Featured-A-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-Global-Featured-A-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-Global-Featured-A-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-Global-Featured-A-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-Global-Featured-A-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-Global-Featured-A-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-Global-Featured-A-1920x1280.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-4G-Global-Featured-A.jpg 1929w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-440131" class="wp-caption-text">Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G</figcaption></figure></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Unfortunately, both the above-mentioned attributes are applicable to the Redmi Note 11 series. This isn’t the case with the previous generation. The Redmi Note 10 Pro (aka Redmi Note 10 Pro Max) offers much more than the lower variants for the asking price.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The Redmi Note 11 Pro duo only offers upgrades in very few categories. As mentioned earlier, the Pros flaunt a larger and better display. They sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,200 nits peak brightness. On the other hand, the vanilla and S versions come with a smaller 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1000 nits peak brightness.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Further, the Pros support 67W fast charging as opposed to 33W fast charging on the other two. Additionally, the Pro 5G has a better and faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset.</span></p>
<p><figure id="attachment_440130" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-440130" style="width: 696px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-440130 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-5G-Global-Featured-A-1024x683.png?x44794" alt="Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G Global" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-5G-Global-Featured-A-1024x683.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-5G-Global-Featured-A-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-5G-Global-Featured-A-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-5G-Global-Featured-A-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-5G-Global-Featured-A-1068x712.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-5G-Global-Featured-A-630x420.png 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11-Pro-5G-Global-Featured-A.png 1701w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-440130" class="wp-caption-text">Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G</figcaption></figure></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Apart from the aforementioned features, the Pros literally don’t offer anything else. The Pro 4G in particular has the exact same MediaTek Helio G96 chip as the S.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">What’s more bizarre is that all four phones sport the same 8MP ultra-wide camera and 2MP macro camera. Except for vanilla, the remaining three also come with an identical 108MP primary camera. Finally, for some reason, the Pros don’t include the well-received telemacro camera from their predecessors.</span></p>
<h2><b>The True Champion</b></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">We found the Redmi Note 10S to be an unnecessary offering in the Redmi Note 10 series. Because just by spending a bit more, one could get the Redmi Note 10 Pro with a better set of features.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Interestingly, the tables have turned for the Redmi Note 11 series. For this generation, we think the Redmi Note 11S offers better value than the Redmi Note 11 Pro. When compared to their predecessors, Xiaomi has improved the former, while at the same time, it sort of downgraded the latter.</span></p>
<p><figure id="attachment_439990" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-439990" style="width: 696px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-439990 size-large" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11S-Featured-1024x683.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Note 11S" width="696" height="464" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11S-Featured-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11S-Featured-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11S-Featured-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11S-Featured-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11S-Featured-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11S-Featured-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/Redmi-Note-11S-Featured.jpg 1884w" sizes="(max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-439990" class="wp-caption-text">Redmi Note 11S</figcaption></figure></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">As a result, we crown the Redmi Note 11S as the true champion of its family. Having said that, unlike the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G, the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G is still worth considering if you live somewhere with good 5G coverage.</span></p>
