After teasing for days, Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi Note 11 and the Redmi Note 11S in India as scheduled. The latest smartphones from the company succeed the Redmi Note 10 and the Redmi Note 10S from last year. They were first announced for other international markets at the end of January.

Redmi Note 11 / Redmi Note 11S Specifications and Features

The Redmi Note 11 and the Redmi Note 11S feature an identical flat frame design and a plastic body. They measure 159.87 x 73.87 x 8.09mm in dimensions and weigh 179. They come in two common colors and one exclusive color for each.

On the front, the devices flaunt a 6.43-inch centered punch-hole AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), 409 PPI, a 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 180Hz touch sampling rate. The panel has a 4,500,000:1 contrast ratio, 700 nits typical brightness level, 1000 nits peak brightness level. It supports DCI-P3 color gamut, Reading Mode 3.0, and Sunlight Display.

Further, they are powered by two different chipsets. The vanilla model sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, whereas the S model houses a MediaTek Helio G96 chip along with liquid cooling technology. Either way, the duo comes with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.

For photography and videography, both use a quad-camera setup on the rear comprising of an 8MP ultrawide unit, a 2MP macro snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor. The Redmi Note 11 arrives with a 50MP main camera and a 13MP selfie camera, On the other hand, the Redmi Note 11S features a 108MP primary camera and a 16MP front-facing camera.

On the connectivity front, the handsets offer dual SIM card slots, 4G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS, and USB Type-C port. Xiaomi has officially taken the wraps off the Redmi Note 11 series for its teeming fans around the globe. The global variant of the series is made up of the vanilla Note 11, the Redmi Note 11S, Redmi Note 11 Pro, and the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G.

The Redmi Note 11 series was initially announced for the Chinese market in October 2021. The China variant is made up of three models namely the Redmi Note 11, Redmi Note 11 Pro, and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+. The Pro+ is missing from the global lineup while the Note 11 Pro is available in 4G and 5G versions and there is a new Redmi Note 11S model.

The series brings a decent specs lineup to the premium mid-range segment including upgrades in the camera aspect, display, processor, and charging speed. The trio of REdmi Note 11 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro, and Redmi Note 11S pack a 108MP main sensor a piece that is engineered to give users an unforgettable camera experience. The sensor is a Samsung HM2 sensor with a large 1/1.52″ sensor size. The camera also utilizes the 9-in-1 pixel binning technology as well as dual native ISO to deliver incredible images with a higher dynamic range and color performance. This ensures you get a vivid shot even in low-light conditions.

Earlier today, Xiaomi‘s sub-brand Redmi announced that the Redmi Note 11S will launch on Feb 9 2022 in India. The device was previously confirmed to feature an AMOLED display, and now, a new leak has revealed the entire spec sheet of the device along with its expected pricing.

Tipster Yogesh Brar recently tweeted out the entire spec list of the upcoming device along with its pricing and OS version. According to Brar, the Redmi Note 11S will get a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. It will run the 4G enabled MediaTek Helio G96 SoC which offers slight improvements over the current Helio G95 featured in the Note 10S.

The device will be available in India in 4GB and 6Gb RAM options will offer 64GB and 128GB storage. The smartphone will house a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

For photography, the phone will have a 108MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP quad-camera setup which is mostly in line with the previous leaks other than the previous one stating that the device will have a triple camera setup.

Going by the previous leaks, these cameras can be a 108-megapixel primary Samsung HM2 camera, an 8 megapixel Sony IMX3555 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2 megapixel OV2a OmniVision macro sensor. Additionally, the device is also said to come with a 13MP selfie snapper.

Yogesh Brar states that the Indian version of the Redmi Note 11S may run Android 11 based MIUI 12.5 out of the box, but since the global version is getting MIUI 13 out of the box, the same may be the case for the Indian variant too.

Coming to the device’s pricing, the tipster has revealed that the device will be going for Rs.1000-2000 more than the Note 10S, which is currently retailing for Rs. 14,999 ($200) for the 6GB+64GB variant(base), so we can expect the Note 11S to start around Rs.16,000-17,000 ($214 to $227).

The Redmi Note 11S is being teased to launch in India very soon. Today, Xiaomi has officially disclosed the date on which the phone will be presented in the country. Let’s check out when the device is heading to the region.

According to the official Twitter handle of Redmi India, the Redmi Note 11S will launch in India on February 9. The company has also set up a dedicated teaser page on Mi.com. The webpage clearly indicates that the brand will be gradually revealing the features of the handsets in the coming days.

As of now, not much is known about this smartphone. It is said to be codenamed Miel. However, we aren’t sure about it yet.

But the official teaser and a leaked render have already revealed the design of the device. We know that the phone will have a flat frame design and a rectangular camera module housing four sensors as well as an LED flash.

Talking about specs, the Redmi Note 11S is tipped to arrive with a 90Hz AMOLED display. It is expected to be powered by an unknown MediaTek chipset with MIUI 13 on board.

The handset’s camera system may include a 108MP Samsung HM2 primary sensor, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide unit, a 2MP OmniVision OV2A macro snapper, and a 2MP depth sensor. Finally, it could come in three memory configurations, such as 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB.
