Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 tablet in the global market after its initial launch in India.

The Redmi Pad SE 8.7 is a mid-range tablet designed for both entertainment and productivity. It features an 8.7-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color depth. The tablet includes two reading modes, Paper and Classic, and has TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light and flicker-free performance.

Powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 processor, the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 comes with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. It has a 6650mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The tablet is equipped with an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, and dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM radio, and a 4G variant with dual SIM support.

The tablet has a slim 8.8mm profile and weighs 373 grams. It comes with a cover featuring a leather shell, a metal rivet wristband, and adjustable viewing angles.

Pricing & availability

The Redmi Pad SE 8.7 is available in Graphite Gray, Aurora Green, and Sky Blue. Prices start at €139 for the Wi-Fi model and €179 for the 4G variant. Pre-orders are open, with an official launch on August 21.

Earlier this month, we learned that Xiaomi is developing a new tablet called the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G. We recently shared a live image of the tablet, and now it has appeared on the NBTC certification website with the model number 24076RP19G.

The certification confirms the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G name and indicates that it is headed to Thailand. Previously, this tablet also appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards website with the model number 24076RP19I. While the certification itself does not confirm any specifications, previous FCC listing reveals that it will feature Xiaomi’s Hyper OS 1.0 operating system, support dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G LTE, and include an FM receiver.

This tablet will likely be a smaller version of the existing Xiaomi Pad SE, which comes with an 11″ display. We can take a look at the Redmi Pad SE’s specs to get an idea of what to expect from the upcoming Pad SE 8.7 4G model.

Redmi Pad SE specs:

The Redmi Pad SE features an 11-inch 8-bit LCD screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 180Hz touch sampling rate, and a peak brightness of 400 nits.

Under the hood, it has a Snapdragon 680 processor with three RAM options: 4 GB, 6 GB, or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Additionally, it includes a microSD card slot that supports memory expansion up to 1TB.

The tablet draws power from an 8,000mAh battery, providing over 28 hours of video playback and supports 10W charging through a USB Type-C port. It also includes a 3.5mm audio jack and a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos tuning and Hi-Res audio support.

The tablet runs on Android 13-based MIUI for Pad and features AI face unlock. It comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. For connectivity, it offers dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.0.

Earlier this month, we found out that Xiaomi is working on a new tablet called the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G. We recently also shared a live image of the tablet. Now, the Redmi Pad 8.7 SE 4G tablet, with model number 24076RP19I, has cleared the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification, confirming its imminent release.

The Redmi Pad 8.7 SE 4G also appeared in the IMEI database under the same model number. Though the BIS certification does not provide detailed specifications, other certifications offer some insights.

According to the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification, the tablet will run on Xiaomi’s Hyper OS 1.0. It will support dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G LTE, and include an FM receiver. The device was also listed in Singapore’s IMDA (Info-communications Media Development Authority) database, indicating a global launch is near.

The tablet’s name suggests it will feature an 8.7-inch screen. For clarity, the Redmi Pad SE which debuted in September 2023 in China and April 2024 in India features an 11-inch display. With that in mind, it looks like this model could be a more affordable version of the Redmi Pad SE.

Further specifications and the official release date of the Redmi Pad 8.7 SE 4G are yet to be announced. We will provide updates as more information becomes available. Till then, take a look at the specifications of the Redmi Pad SE to get an idea of what to expect.

We have the real image of the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 and officially confirm the existence of this device. Already in our previous article, we told you that the tablet was registered in the database. Now, the leaked Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G image gives us some clues about the device. Of course, this image is not of high quality, but we can see the device live.

In the image we obtained, the “device name” section writes Redmi Pad SE 8.7. The leaked image also shows that the Pad SE 8.7 will have 64GB internal storage. Out of the box, the tablet will be available with Android 14-based HyperOS and the internal model number is revealed to be “N85”. Other than that, the device is expected to have similar specifications to the previous Redmi Pad SE. But we should not forget that Xiaomi may have made some changes. Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G will be an affordable tablet.

Xiaomi is getting ready to introduce a new tablet and here’s the name: Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G. The Chinese brand will be re-releasing the Redmi Pad SE model that was introduced last year but with some new changes. The first one is that the device now supports 4G connectivity.

By inserting a SIM card into this tablet, you will be able to call the contacts you want and connect to the internet as you wish. And another change, Xiaomi’s previous Redmi Pad SE was 11 inches in size. The new Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G will be 8.7 inches. Compared to the previous Redmi Pad SE model, it is expected to be a smaller device.

Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G is coming

Xiaomi’s decision to launch a new Redmi Pad SE is very interesting. Maybe they may have wanted to utilize the components of the previous generation Pad SE models. If it is offered for sale at an affordable price, the new Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G can attract a lot of attention.

Because compared to the previous Pad SE model, the Pad SE 8.7 will now be able to support 4G connections and you will be able to carry it with its small size easily. The Gizmochina team has spotted the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G in the IMEI database. The new tablet is expected to be officially sold in international markets.

The Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G has 2 different model numbers: “24076RP19G” and “24076RP19I“. When we analyze these model numbers, we learn in which regions the device will be sold: G stands for “Global” and I stands for “India“. We haven’t found a Chinese version of the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G yet, so we don’t know if the tablet will be sold in China. Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G’s specs should be basically the same as the previous Redmi Pad SE. However, I want to point out that I’m not completely sure about this, the only certainty is the existence of the Redmi Pad SE 8.7 4G. Probably this tablet will be launched in July. We are looking forward to Xiaomi’s new tablet.
