Xiaomi has just unveiled brand new budget 4K smart TVs in India from its Redmi sub-brand. The Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K was teased last week, and now, the new models have finally launched in the region with some notable specs and features and an affordable price tag.

Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K Specs

To recall, the Redmi Smart Fire TV first arrived with a 32-inch screen and FHD resolution. The Chinese brand is now releasing higher end models with 4K resolution and two new screen sizes. This includes a 43-inch and 55-inch options. In terms of specs, the two new variants are almost identical. Both of these feature 4K HDR support, MEMC technology, Dolby Audio, and DTS: Virtual X technology.

Although, the taller 55-inch option has a 30W speakers setup built in, while the 43-inch variant has smaller 24W speakers. One of the notable aspects of the new smart TVs is their design. Redmi is offering a premium metal frame with ultra slim bezels on three sides. Under the hood, the Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K is equipped with a quad core Cortex A55 SoC, which is paired with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

Users also get a Redmi Voice Remote that supports Alexa and has dedicated buttons for Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and Amazon Music. Other notable features include dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, HDMI 2.1, and support for V1, H.265, H.264, Real, and MPEG1/2/4 codecs.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K was launched with a starting price tag of 24,999 INR (roughly 298 US Dollars) for the 43-inch option. On the other hand, the 55-inch variant costs 35,999 INR (roughly 429 US Dollars). ICICI bank card holders can avail an instant discount of 10 percent, which brings its effective price down to just 23,499 INR. The new Smart TVs will be available for purchase on Flipkart and Xiaomi’s official website from 18th September 2024.

The Chinese tech giant has confirmed that the Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K will be dropping in India on 16th September 2024. It will be available in two screen variants, which include a 55-inch and 43-inch option. So in total, the Redmi Smart Fire TV lineup will soon have three versions. Redmi also shared more details regarding the upcoming smart TVs on their official website. The new Smart Fire TV 4K will launch with a premium metal design with ultra thin bezels around the display.

These new models will support MEMC with Reality Flow. The Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K lineup supports Fire TV OS 7 with over 12,000 apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and others. Based on what we know so far, Xiaomi will likely pack Dolby Audio, DTS-HD, DTS: Virtual X technology, AirPlay, and more. To recall, the Smart Fire TV 32 2024 Edition launched with a 1366 x 768 resolution, 6.5m response time, and Vivid Picture Engine. The TV features premium metal design and houses twin 10W speakers for a total output of 20W. Under the hood, the smart TVs are equipped with a quad-core processor comprising of four A35 cores and a Mali G31 MP2 GPU. This processor is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

Price & availability

The brand has set the price of this television at ₹26,999 ($325), but as part of an exclusive launch promotion, it will be accessible for a reduced rate of ₹24,999 ($301). Interested customers can buy the TV via Mi.com and Amazon. Additionally, the company is extending a special offer of up to Rs. 1,500 instant discount for those using ICICI Bank credit cards and opting for EMI transactions.

The Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K offers a 43-inch screen with a crisp 4K display, delivering a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and a smooth 60Hz refresh rate. It supports HDR for vibrant visuals and is equipped with a vivid picture engine for enhanced image quality.

On the audio front, it comes with 24W dual stereo speakers and supports Dolby Audio, DTS Virtual:X, and DTS:HD, ensuring a rich sound experience.

Under the hood, it’s powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and has 8GB of storage. It runs on the FireOS operating system and offers the convenience of six user profiles. With access to an app store containing over 12,000 apps, it provides a wide range of entertainment options.

The Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K (review) features a built-in Alexa voice assistant, allowing for voice commands and smart home control. It also includes parental controls for added security and a picture-in-picture mode for multitasking.

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has expanded its range of televisions in India, more specifically FireOS-powered TVs. The first offering from the brand was announced earlier in March this year. Both Xiaomi and Redmi already offer Google TVs and Android TVs in the country. With FireOS televisions, the company is diversifying and offering more choices to customers. The Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K features a 43-inch screen size. It bears a 4K display resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. It features a 60Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and a vivid picture engine for a realistic viewing experience. The television also has a metal bezel-less design. 

On the audio front, the Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K is equipped with 24W dual stereo speakers with Dolby Audio, DTS Virtual:X, and DTS:HD for an immersive audio experience. 

Internally, the Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K is powered by an unspecified 64-bit quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 8GB storage. The television runs on FireOS with six user profiles, an app store with access to more than 12,000 apps, a built-in Alexa voice assistant, and parental controls. There is a picture-in-picture mode and the Alexa voice command can also be used for STB channels. The TV comes with a bundled minimalistic remote with a dedicated hotkey for Prime Video, Amazon Music, and Netflix. 

In terms of connectivity, the Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K features Miracast and AirPlay 2. It has auto-low latency mode for gaming purposes. There is a dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, three HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB ports, an Ethernet port, and a headphone jack. 

The Redmi Smart TV 4K carries a special launch price tag of Rs 24,999. It has a year warranty that includes a 1 year extended warranty. The exact availability date has not been revealed but the brand announced that it will be available for purchase this festive season on Amazon and Mi.com.

Redmi is set to expand its range of televisions running on Fire TV OS in India. The Xiaomi sub-brand had launched its first FireOS-powered smart TV in the country earlier in March this year. Now Redmi has announced that it is launching a new Redmi Smart Fire TV on September 15. Xiaomi has put up a dedicated microsite of the upcoming offering on its official website. The brand already offers Google TV and Android TVs in India, so with FireOS-powered televisions, Xiaomi aims to diversify and offer more choices to customers. 

Redmi to launch a new Fire TV in India next week

As the name suggests, the Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K will come in a 43-inch screen size. It will feature a 4K display resolution. The microsite mentions that the upcoming television will offer an outstanding experience and captivating entertainment. It has an elegant design with three-sided narrow bezels. There is a slightly thick bezel at the bottom and an LED light in the center. The Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K is teased to come with seamless connectivity and additional features. It will run on FireOS and we can expect Alexa voice-enabled remote control. 

Amazon has also put up a microsite of the Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K confirming its availability from the e-commerce platform. Additionally, it is also expected to be available from Mi.com. 

Xiaomi already offers the F2 TV series with FireOS in the global markets since last year. If the upcoming Redmi Smart Fire TV 4K is anything similar to the global variant, we can expect UHD resolution with HDR10, HLG support. On the audio front, it features two 12W speakers with Dolby Audio, DTS-HD, and DTS Virtual:X support. The global variant is powered by a MediaTek MT9020 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.
