Redmi smart TV A70 launched with a 70-inch 4K screen priced at ¥2199 ($306)

Xiaomi has launched a new smart TV under the Redmi brand. The Redmi smart TV A70 packs a huge 70 inches display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The display has a screen ratio of 96%, supports 78% DCI-P3 color gamut, 1 billion primary color displays, and a 60Hz refresh rate. It has a direct backlight.

In other aspects, the Redmi Smart TV A70 is equipped with a Quad-core A35 processor, backed by 1.5GB of RAM while there is 8GB of flash memory onboard. The device also comes with 2.4G Wi-Fi and infrared support. It crams two high-power 10W speakers delivering vivid sound quality. It equally uses an air duct design.

In terms of interface, the Redmi Smart TV A70 features two USB ports, two HDMI interfaces, an antenna, S/PDIF, AV input, and a network port. The smart TV is capable of controlling smart devices and even viewing camera images. It is pre-installed with movie and TV resources such as Kiwi TV, Aurora TV, Mango TV, and others but a subscription is needed to access the service.

In addition, the TV covers mainstream screen projection protocols and supports Android, iOS mobile phone screen projection, Windows, and Mac notebook screen projection.

Xiaomi is also promoting the smart TV as a durable device. Data released shows that the TV passed over 300 machine tests including several upright drops of the entire device, 12,000+ interface plug-in/out tests, and between -25°C and -60°C simulated indoor and outdoor temperature difference tests.

The Redmi smart TV A70 will officially go on sale on October 31 and is priced at 2199 yuan ($306).
