Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is working on a new smartwatch bearing model number M2315W1. After appearing on TUV certification and IMDA a couple of days ago, the smartwatch has appeared on Korea’s NRRA and the EEC Certification. The new listing confirms the upcoming smartwatch but fails to shed light on the specifications and features.

We expect more information from other sources in the coming few days. However, Xiaomi is preparing to launch the Watch S3 running the newly announced Xiaomi HyperOS. It would be the first watch running Xiaomi’s new software ecosystem.

The new Xiaomi Watch S3 is set to launch on October 26 featuring the stylish and sleek design. Xiaomi describes it as “refined and simple, all-around excellent” while featuring a changing bezel which brings more personalization and customization offers. It will offer a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, 60Hz refresh rate, 326-pixel density, and 600 nits brightness.

For the new Redmi Watch, it is quite difficult to speculate anything depending on the information available to us. We have to wait for some official information.

Last year, Xiaomi launched its first-ever smartwatch called Mi Watch in its home country China. A few weeks later, the company unveiled a cheaper and circular version of this wearable called Mi Watch Color. Now, almost a year later, the firm’s sub-brand is all set to debut its smartwatch as it now gets certified by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

Ever since Redmi became an independent brand, it has been launching a wide variety of products apart from smartphones. However, it has only released a single wearable in the form of Redmi Band (aka Redmi Smart Band & Mi Band 4C).

That said, there have been rumors for a Redmi-branded smartwatch for a very long time. This upcoming wearable going by the model number REDMIWT01 has now cleared MIIT certification in China, as per a screenshot shared by well-known leakster Digital Chat Sation on Weibo.

The tipster says that this smartwatch will be launching in October with great battery life. Hence, we don’t expect it to run Android Wear operating system as it is not known for good battery performance.

We believe that this forthcoming Redmi smartwatch will run a proprietary OS as found in the Mi Watch Color. Other than the model number and battery life, nothing else is known about this mysterious wearable.

Having said that, Xiaomi is yet to debut its smartwatches in international markets. The Mi Watch Color is expected to launch as Mi Watch Revolve in India on September 29.

Honor is to Huawei as Redmi is to Xiaomi. What started as a line of affordable smartphones by Xiaomi now includes multiple product lines including PC notebooks, TVs, washing machines, and more. Now, it is set to launch its first smartwatch.

A few months ago, Redmi announced the Redmi Band, a fitness tracker that is also sold as the Mi Smart Band 4C in some markets. For those who want a proper smartwatch, then you should be happy to know that a Redmi Smartwatch will soon be announced according to Digital Chat Station.

Actually, this is not the first time we have heard of the Redmi Smartwatch. The first time was back in November 2019, after the launch of the Mi Watch. The General Manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing, asked on Weibo shortly after the Mi Watch launched if fans of the brand were looking forward to a Redmi Watch.

This announcement was followed by the certification of a Redmi product with model number HMSH01GE in January. As you can see in the image above, the product is said to be a “Smart Watch”. It appears the development of the smartwatch has been completed and it is ready to hit the market.

We have no idea what the Redmi Smartwatch will look like and what specs it will pack. One thing we are pretty sure about is its price tag which should be lesser than that of the Mi Watch.

Redmi is expected to announce a new phone powered by the Dimensity 1000+ processor next month. There is a chance the Redmi Smartwatch will be announced alongside it.
