<p>Earlier this month, tipster Digital Chat Station <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/05/08/redmi-k100-series-7-inch-2k-display-10000mah-battery/">revealed</a> the existence of a new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/redmi">Redmi</a> phone equipped with a huge 10,000mAh+ battery. At the time, the tipster did not mention the chipset powering the device. However, a new Weibo post now appears to reveal additional details. While the phone’s name has not been officially confirmed, it is believed that the leak could be referring to the Redmi Turbo 6 Max.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi Turbo 6 Max key specs tipped</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="977" height="255" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-106.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-738959" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-106.png 977w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-106-300x78.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-106-768x200.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/image-106-696x182.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 977px) 100vw, 977px" /></figure>

<p>According to the leak, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-6-max">Redmi Turbo 6 Max</a> may feature a 7-inch display with support for 2K resolution. The current engineering prototype of the device is said to be equipped with a 3nm Dimensity 9-series flagship chipset.</p>

<p>The existing <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/redmi-turbo-5-max">Redmi Turbo 5 Max</a> is powered by the Dimensity 9500s. Based on this, it appears that the Turbo 6 Max could either retain the same 3nm chipset or arrive with the Dimensity 9500. The tipster also claims that the device’s battery capacity exceeds the 10,000mAh mark.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/05/08/redmi-k100-series-7-inch-2k-display-10000mah-battery/">A previous leak</a> suggested that the device may also include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, a metal middle frame, and IP68/IP69-rated dust and water resistance. As for the launch timeline, the phone is expected to debut by the end of this year.</p>

<p>In related news, rumors surrounding the Redmi K100 series suggest that the lineup could launch earlier than its predecessor. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/05/15/redmi-k100-series-launch-before-xiaomi-18/">Expected to go official in September</a>, the series may include the Redmi K100 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/05/19/redmi-k100-pro-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-5-9000mah-battery/">K100 Pro</a> powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while the Redmi K100 Pro Max could feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset.</p>

<p>Redmi is also reportedly working on the Redmi Note 17 lineup, which is expected to launch in July or August this year.</p>

Other brands are also expected to introduce devices with even larger batteries, with Redmi reportedly considering a smartphone equipped with a massive 12,000mAh battery. Here’s a look at which Redmi device could arrive with such an enormous battery capacity.</p>

<h3><strong>Redmi could be working on a 12,000mAh battery phone</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="316" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-242-1024x316.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-736530" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-242-1024x316.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-242-300x93.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-242-768x237.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-242-696x215.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-242-1068x330.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-242.png 1147w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="222" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-243-1024x222.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-736531" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-243-1024x222.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-243-300x65.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-243-768x167.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-243-696x151.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-243-1068x232.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/image-243.png 1153w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>A recent leak from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that Redmi is internally testing a next-generation smartphone equipped with a massive 12,000mAh-class battery. According to the tipster, the device is said to feature new single-cell high-silicon battery technology, which could help achieve higher energy density without significantly increasing the phone’s thickness.</p>

<p>The tipster also revealed that Redmi’s research labs are experimenting with even larger battery capacities using a newly customized material system. While the exact device name has not been mentioned, the leak suggests that the company is exploring major advancements in battery technology for its upcoming smartphones.</p>

<p>In the comments section of the post, the tipster further hinted that the device will be powered by a high-performance chipset, suggesting that Redmi may not limit such large battery capacities to entry-level or low-end devices.</p>

<p>While the tipster did not mention the name of the device, Redmi fans are speculating that it could be the Redmi Turbo 6 Max. The reason behind this speculation is that the current <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-turbo-5-max/">Redmi Turbo 5 Max</a> already packs the largest battery ever seen on a Xiaomi or Redmi phone, featuring a 9,000mAh unit.</p>

<p>In the coming months, Redmi is expected to announce the Redmi Note 17 series in China. Among the lineup, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/04/23/redmi-note-17-pro-max-10000mah-battery-dimensity-7500-leak/">Redmi Note 17 Pro Max</a> is rumored to feature a 10,000mAh battery. Later this year, Redmi may also unveil the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/03/22/redmi-k100-pro-max-snapdragon-8-elite-gen-6-pro-lpddr6-leak/">Redmi K100 and K100 Pro Max</a> in October. These flagship phones are expected to pack large batteries, but their capacities may not exceed the 10,000mAh mark.</p>

<p>Therefore, the Redmi Turbo 6 Max appears to be the ideal candidate to feature a 12,000mAh battery. As for the launch timeline, the device is expected to debut in Q1 2027. However, it is advisable to wait for additional reports to get a clearer picture of the final specifications and launch plans.</p>
