Now, a fresh report has claimed that the Reno 12 series will be arriving in the region next week. So here are all the details.

According to a report from TheTechOutlook, sources close to the matter have claimed that the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro will be launching in India on 12th July 2024. Based on what we know so far, the base Oppo Reno 12 5G model will be available with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Meanwhile, the higher end Reno 12 Pro 5G will launch in 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB storage options.

In our previous reports, we covered the storage options of the two devices. The color options of the upcoming Reno 12 series were also revealed. Oppo’s Reno 12 is set to drop in India on Sunset Peach, Astro Silver, and Matte Brown. On the other hand, the Reno 12 Pro will come in just two color variants, namely Sunset Gold and Space Brown. To recall, the Reno 12 has a dual curved screen, while the Pro model comes with a quad curved display. These devices were first launched in China back in May 2024.

The brand has confirmed that both phones will house a large 5,000mAh battery pack, which supports 80W wired fast charging. Oppo will launch the Reno 12 series with various AI powered features. This includes the AI Best Face feature, which recognizes human expressions, and corrects closed eyes in photos, while the AI Eraser 2.0 uses generative AI to remove background distractions with high accuracy. After weeks of teasers and leaks, Oppo has finally unveiled the highly anticipated Reno 12 series. The lineup consists of the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro, which have been announced in the brand’s home market of China. So here are all the details like its specs, pricing, and more.

Talking about the base model first, it sports a tall 6.7-inch curved OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1200 nits of peak brightness, and 2160Hz PWM dimming with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Under the hood, the Reno 12 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8250 Star Speed Edition SoC, which is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device, which supports 80W wired fast charging.

Under the hood, the Reno 12 Pro is packed with the Dimensity 9200+ Star Speed Edition that is coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. A massive 5,000mAh battery pack powers the Reno 12 Pro, which supports 80W wired fast charging as well.

A recent rumor surrounding the Oppo Reno 12 series suggested that the company might launch the series in May 2024. But now, a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, has chimed in, revealing that the Reno 12 series is likely to debut sometime in June instead.

But the tipster spilled the beans on other smartphone series launches as well. According to DCS, along with Reno 12, the Vivo S19 series, Huawei Nova 13 series, and Honor 200 series smartphones will also launch in June.

OPPO Reno 11 series

All of the series from different brands are mid-range tier smartphones. So there seems to be intense competition. Details regarding the Vivo S19 and Huawei Nova 13 remain scarce, so we will need further leaks or official announcements for clarification.

The Honor 200 Lite, however, has already been spotted on the TDRA certification website, hinting at an imminent launch. While specifications are unknown, the “Lite” moniker suggests a budget-friendly entry within the Honor 200 series.

Last week’s report revealed details about the chipset inside the Reno 12 series. Now, a new leak from Weibo Tipster 智慧皮卡丘 has revealed some key camera specifications of the Reno 12 series.

As per the tipster, the Reno 12 series will feature a custom Sony camera lens, suggesting significant improvements in photography capabilities. While the exact implications of the camera upgrade are unclear, there’s speculation about changes in image quality compared to earlier models.

Details about the Reno 12 include it being powered by a MediaTek MTK 24M processor, coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Despite only three months passing since the initial launch of the Reno 11 series, there are already emerging leaks about the upcoming Reno 12 series.

Popular tipster DCS has hinted at some key details about the upcoming Reno 12 series in a recent Weibo post. As per the tipster, the Reno 12 series will feature a Snapdragon 8 series sub-flagship platform. Currently, the flagship chin in Qualcomm’s camp is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. So, it is highly likely that the Reno 12 series debuts with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC onboard.
