OPPO launched the Reno2, Reno2 F and the Reno2 Z in India back in August 2019. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has just announced Rs. 2,000 (~$28) discount on the Reno 2F and the 2Z. The Reno2 continues to sell at its original pricing.

While the Reno2 Z was launched for Rs. 29,990 (~$421), The Reno2 F featured Rs. 25,990 (~$365) price tag. The updated prices of the 2Z and 2F are effectively Rs. 27,990 (~$394) and Rs. 23,990 (~$338) respectively. The new prices are effective immediately and they are available on Amazon India apart from the official website. While the OPPO Reno2 Z is available in Luminous Black, Sky White and Polar Light color schemes, the Reno2 F sport Lake Green and Sky White hues.

OPPO Reno 2Z, Reno 2F Specifications, and Features

Both the OPPO Reno2 Z and the Reno2 F share multiple common features, including the 6.53-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a screen-to-body ratio of 91.6%. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Both smartphones feature notch-less displays with an in-screen fingerprint scanner and pop-up selfie camera. Both smartphones draw power from a 4,000 mAh battery with support for VOOC 3.0 fast charge. The smartphones run on Android 9.0 Pie-based ColorOS 6.1.

The OPPO Reno2 Z features a MediaTek Helio P90 chipset under the hood with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of native storage. The OPPO Reno2 F is powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 SoC with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage. Both smartphones feature a quad-camera setup at the rear. 

The primary lens is a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with 119-degree field-of-vision. The third lens is a 2-megapixel Mono lens that is paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. These phones are equipped with a pop-up selfie camera of 16-megapixel.

OPPO is scheduled to announce the second generation of its new Reno lineup on August 28 in India. It has been revealed that there will be three new phones – the Reno 2, the Reno 2Z, and the Reno 2F. The Reno 2 has now appeared on TENAA, baring all its specs ahead of its release next week.

The Reno 2’s model numbers are listed as PCKM00 and PCKT00. The phone will have a 6.5-inch 2400 x 1080 resolution. The aspect ratio for the phone is 20:9 just like that of the Galaxy A70 which has an Infinity-U display.

The Reno 2 is powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core processor. A leak says the chipset is the Snapdragon 730 processor but we can’t confirm that until a benchmark result is released. The chipset will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. The phone will also have support for storage expansion (256GB max.).

OPPO will equip the phone with quad-rear cameras – a 48MP primary sensor paired with a 13MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. A 16MP sensor will sit in front for selfies and video calls.

The OPPO Reno 2 will run Android 9 out of the box. It will have an in-display fingerprint scanner and have a 3915mAh battery under the hood. The TENAA listing says it will be available in Black, Pink, and Green. Its dimensions are given as 160 x 74.3 x 9.5 millimeters and its weight is 189 grams.

Unfortunately, the listing doesn’t include images of the phone.

The TENAA listing has been updated with images, giving us a look at the design.

The Reno 2 doesn’t have a notch nor does it have a punch-hole in the display for the selfie camera. However, there seem to be moderately-sized bezels at the top and bottom even though the device is believed to come with a shark-fin pop-up selfie camera.

On the back, the cameras are lined up vertically in a black housing that sticks out like a sore thumb against the pink body. There is an LED flash flanking the cameras on the left. Inscribed along the back is the manufacturer’s name and the words “Designed for RENO”.

The phone has its power button on the left while the volume rocker is on the left. The side view shows the quad rear cameras are flush with the rest of the body.

The OPPO Reno 2 will also be available in black and green.

The publication has also leaked the specifications and pricing of these upcoming OPPO smartphones.

The Reno 2 will be featuring a 6.5-inch AMOLED display that will support full HD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The display will be equipped with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The smartphone will deliver a screen-to-body ratio of 93.1 percent. The display of the phone is protected by Gorilla Glass 6. The rear side of the phone has Gorilla Glass 5 panel. The Snapdragon 730G processor along with 8 GB of RAM fuels the OPPO Reno 2. It will have an internal storage of 256 GB.

The quad camera setup of the phone will include a 48-mgeapixel Sony IMX586 primary lens with f/1.7 aperture, a 116-degree ultrawide angle 8-megapixel lens, a 13-megapixel sensor with support for 2x optical zoom and a depth sensor of 2-megapixel with special portrait modes. For shooting selfies, it will have a 16-megapixel Sharkfin pop-up camera with LED flash. The 4,000mAh battery of the smartphone will support VOOC 3.0 flash charging. It will be priced under Rs. 35,000.

The Reno 2Z features a full HD+ 6.53-inch AMOLED display that is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It is embedded with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The MediaTek Helio P90 processor will be powering the smartphone. The SoC is supported by 8 GB of RAM and it has an inbuilt storage of 256 GB.

The rear-mounted quad camera setup of the Reno 2Z has Sony IMX586 48-meapixel primary lens, a 119-degre ultrawide 8-megapixel lens and a pair of 2-megapixel lenses that enables special portrait mode while snapping photos and videos. A 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera is available on the device. Its 4,000mah battery will arrive VOOC 3.0 flash charging support. The Reno 2Z will be priced under Rs. 25,000.

OPPO Reno 2F Specifications and Price (Rumored)

The publication did not share the entire specifications of the OPPO Reno 2F smartphone. However, it claimed that its quad camera setup will include Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 48-megapixel lens and it will be priced under Rs. 20,000.

The Android 9 Pie OS along with ColorOS 6.1 will be available on OPPO Reno 2, Reno 2Z and Reno 2F. Also, these phones are also expected to receive the upcoming Android 10 Q update. The Chinese manufacturer is expected to release as many as 5 smartphone by October in India.
