At the end of last week, OPPO announced Android 11 Beta recruitment for some of its devices such as the Find X2 series, Ace2 series, and Reno3 4G series. Now, the registrations for all these smartphones are live in China, India, Indonesia, and Thailand.

Talking about China first, users of six devices are eligible for this program in OPPO’s home country. The company has allocated 2,000 seats per handset model. If a user gets selected, they will be receiving the beta update within the next three days.

Here’s the exact list of phones whose Android 11 Beta registrations are open in China.

OPPO is part of Android 11 Beta program. The Find X2 and Find X2 Pro are the only devices from the company eligible for this initiative. But now, the company announces a new Android 11 Beta recruitment, which also includes Reno3 4G and Reno3 Pro 4G. The registrations for the same will open on September 7 from 4:00 (GMT).

The Chinese smartphone maker announced a new Android 11 Beta recruitment for four of its devices on ColorOS Community (via PiunikaWeb). What’s more interesting is that the company has included a blank space for the version number of ColorOS in the teaser image.

This suggests that OPPO may soon announce ColorOS 8. In fact, this beta recruitment could be for the latest version of its Android skin. Also, the company mentions that only limited quota will be available for this program. The exact number of spots and regions will be revealed on September 7.

Since realme UI was unveiled after the release of ColorOS 7 last year, we may also witness the debut of realme UI 2 in the coming days. Most importantly, this suggests that Google may indeed launch Android 11 officially on September 8 as reported in July.

AnTuTu has released the list of best-performing smartphones in flagship and mid-range categories in May 2020 for China. The flagship list is entirely populated by Snapdragon 865 mobile platform and the first phone to lead the pack is OPPO Find X2 Pro with a score of 604,123. The midrange list is led by Dimensity 1000L powered OPPO Reno3 5G. It managed to score 403,607 points.

AnTuTu’s flagship list for the previous month has the OPPO Find X2 in the second position with a score of 600,884. The third place is held by Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. It has scored 600,264.

The OPPO Ace2, iQOO Neo3, and Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition are placed on the fourth, fifth, and six positions. The remaining phones that made it to the list include iQOO 3, Realme X50 Pro, OnePlus 8 Pro, and Vivo NEX 3S 5G. Surprisingly, there are no Kirin 990 5G powered Huawei and Honor phones in the top 10 list.

The top 10 mid-range list for May 2020 by AnTuTu has phones powered by different processors from MediaTek, Qualcomm, Huawei, and Samsung. After the Reno3 5G, the Honor 30 featuring the Kirin 985 is placed on the second position with a 387,583 score. It is followed by Huawei Nova 7 with a score of 385,323. The handset is also powered by Kirin 985 SoC.

The Honor 30S, Honor X10 and Huawei Nova 7 SE phones that feature the Kirin 820 chipset have secured fourth, fifth and sixth positions. The Reno3 Pro 5G featuring the Snapdragon 765G is on the seventh position.

The Vivo S6 5G and Vivo X30 5G fueled by the Exynos 980 SoC are on the eighth and ninth positions. The SD765G powered Redmi K30 5G is placed on the tenth place on the list.

In the past years, various smartphone brands have been found cheating on benchmark platforms. However, a new report on Anandtech has accused chip maker MediaTek for altering gaming performance in benchmarks.

The publication found MediaTek cheating the gaming scores when it benchmarked the Reno3 Pro (European edition) that features the older Helio P95. It claims that the benchmark scores of the Helio P95’s Cortex-A75 processor was higher than the Reno3 5G (Chinese variant) that is equipped with the Dimensity 1000L 5G chipset. The Dimensity chip has four Cortex-A77 CPU cores while the Helio P95 has only two Cortex-A75 cores.

The publication tried running PCMark’s stealth version on the Helio P95 powered Reno3 Pro. Since the stealth version can’t be identified by manufacturers, there was a 30 percent drop in performance compared the high scores that were required by the phone. The outlet stated that it noticed a drop of 75 percent in some other benchmarks.

The Reno3 Pro 5G (Chinese version) that has Snapdragon 765G was also benchmarked by the publication. It did not notice any cheating on benchmarks. The outlet that more investigations revealed that even other MediaTek powered phones like Realme C3, Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and 2017’s Sony Xperia XA1 also have performance enhancements.

Soon after Anandtech published its findings, MediaTek immediately published a blog post to state that its optimization practices on benchmarks adheres to industry standard and is in line with the practices of other companies. It further stated that such practices only reveal the full capabilities of a chipset. It also mentioned that its key rival has chipsets that function in the same way which Anandtech considered as cheating on benchmarks.

Images of a handset (model number CPH2009) that match exactly with China’s Reno3 Pro 5G has appeared at the Federal Communications Commission in the U.S. It suggests that the Find X2 Neo has just passed FCC approval.

The Reno series of smartphones were introduced last year. The OPPO Reno lineup includes phones with different display designs such as notch-less screen and pop-up selfie camera, waterdrop notch display and punch-hole screen. The forthcoming OPPO phones may sport a new front. 91mobiles has come across a patent filing that showcases a new display design that features the selfie camera lodged in the narrow top bezel.

According to the publication, the Chinese manufacturer had filed a patent in March 2019, and it was published on Jan. 21. The patent design seems to belong to an upcoming Reno series phone as it features an O-Dot structure on the back. OPPO has claimed that the all the upcoming Reno smartphones will be equipped with O-Dot structure that protects the rear surface and cameras.

The main highlight of the phone’s design that can be seen in the new patent filing shows that its display is surrounded by slim bezels. The display sports a notch-less design as it features a selfie camera at the center of the slim top bezel. The design reminds of the recent flagship phones from Meizu that have very slim top bezel along with the selfie camera. Newer reports have revealed that the Reno3 will be driven by MediaTek MT6885 chipset. A new OPPO phone with model number PDCM00 driven by the MT6885 has appeared on AnTuTu benchmarks. It appears to be Reno3 5G phone. Another leak has revealed that the Reno3 5G will be arriving with 64-megapixel quad cameras.

The PDCM00 OPPO Reno3 phone has scored 143,075 points in the CPU test and 107,282 points in the graphics test. The handset has scored 75,354 and 54,128 points in the memory and UX tests of AnTuTu. The average benchmarking score recorded by the smartphone is 379,839. This score is higher than the Exynos 980 powered Vivo X30 Pro that recorded 326,029 points and the Snapdragon 765G driven Redmi K30 that recorded 302,847 points. MediaTek is yet to announce the MT6885 chipset. The Chinese tipster who shared the above screenshot claims that the SoC will debut as Dimensity 1000L. Its a lower variant of 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 1000 5G chipset that was announced last month.

The tipster also shared another screengrab of the Reno3 5G. The image reveals that the Reno3 PDCM00 phone has an f/1.8 aperture camera that can shoot images of 6912 x 9216 resolution. This indicates that the phone is fitted with a 64-megapixel main lens. Probably, it could be featuring a Samsung GW1 64-megapixel lens that is available on the OPPO K5 phone.

Recently, a mysterious OPPO PCRM00 / PCRT00 smartphone was spotted on the database of China’s 3C authority through which it was confirmed that it is an upcoming 5G phone from the company. Today, the phone has appeared on TENNA authority’s database. The listing lacks images of the phone, but it has revealed some of its key specs. The preliminary specs of the PCRM00 / PCRT00 5G phone suggests that it could be the Reno 3 Pro 5G phone.

According to the TENAA listing of PCRM00 / PCRT00 5G, it measures 159.4 x 72.4 x 7.7mm. The device is fitted with a 6.5-inch display and it houses a 3,935mAh minimum rated battery. The 3C listing of the phone reveals that it could be shipped with a charger that supports 30W rapid charger.

Rumors have it that it will be arriving with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display. Hence, it appears that the newly spotted PCRM00 / PCRT00 5G smartphone could be the OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G.

The Chinese manufacturer has already confirmed that the Snapdragon 765G mobile platform will be powering the Reno 3 Pro 5G. It will be the second phone after the Redmi K30 Pro that debuts tomorrow to feature the SD765G chipset. OPPO has already revealed that the Reno 3 Pro 5G has an AMOLED display with punch-hole placed at its top-left corner. The display seems to be curved towards the edges. The reservations page for the Reno 3 series is now live on OPPO China website. The company has revealed the front and rear design of the Reno 3 Pro smartphone on the reservations. Also, it has revealed some key information of the Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro 5G phones.

The OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G can be seen sporting a marvelous gradient colored rear with a vertical quad camera setup on its back. The dual LED flash can be seen housed in inside the camera module alongside the camera lens.

The frontside of the phone is fitted with a punch-hole display that curves towards the edges. The handset sports a slim profile of 7.7mm and it weighs 171 grams. The Reno 3 Pro 5G is driven by the Snapdragon 765G mobile platform which also powers the Redmi K30 Pro 5G phone that will go official tomorrow in China. The device will be fueled by a 4,025mAh battery.

On the other side, a small image of the Reno 3 shows the phone sporting a waterdrop notch on its display and a vertical quad camera setup on its back. It is being speculate that the PDCM00 / PDCT00 phone could be the forthcoming OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G phone.

OPPO PCPM00 Specifications

The exact identity of the OPPO PCPM00 is not known. However, considering the fact that it does not carry support for fast charging, it may not belong to OPPO’s Reno series of smartphones. The handset has 160.2 x 73.3 x 7.9mm dimensions and it weighs 172 grams. The device is fitted with a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that produces full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It is a 20:9 aspect ratio supporting display that features a waterdrop notch. The AMOLED display is integrated with a fingerprint sensor.

Today, LetsGoDigital has shared a new render of the OPPO Reno 3 Pro 5G phone to showcase its full front view. It reveals that the device features a punch-hole display.

Earlier this week, a leaked screenshot of an upcoming OPPO phone had surface on Weibo. The image had revealed that the said phone may come with a punch-hole display as there was an unused area in the UI at the top-left corner. The aforementioned publication has shared a render of the Reno 3 Pro 5G.

As it can be seen in the render below, it features a punch-hole at the top-left corner of the screen. The side bezels of the phone appear almost non-existent as the screen curve towards the edges. The upper and lower bezels of the phone are also thin. This indicates that the phone will boast a very high screen-to-body ratio. It is speculated that the phone could be housing a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with an in-screen fingerprint reader.

The new leak has no new information on the specifications of the Reno 3 Pro 5G. As OPPO VP Brian She revealed, the device is equipped with a 7.7mm chassis with a glass rear. The device is equipped with a 4.,025mAh battery that will probably arrive with fast charging support. It will be a dual-mode 5G smartphone that could be powered by the Snapdragon 735 5G chipset. The Reno 3 Pro 5G is a very thin device that measures only 7.7mm in thickness. Despite featuring a slim chassis, the phone will be housing a larger battery of 4,025mAh capacity. It could be coming with support for fast charging technology.
