However, the manufacturer has a third flagship phone coming soon called the OPPO <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/ace-2">Ace2</a> that will support 40W wireless charging.</p>
<p>Ahead of the launch of the phone, the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has published the details of the wireless charger for the device.</p>
<p>According to the WPC, the wireless charger has model number OAWV01. The attached images reveal the official name as OPPO 40W AirVOOC and it supports the following power inputs &#8211; 9V 2A (18W), 5V 6A (30W), and 10V 6.5A (65W). The maximum power output is, of course, 40W.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-315432" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/OPPO-AirVOOC-Wireless-Charger.jpg?x10805" alt="OPPO 40W AirVOOC Wireless Charger" width="1240" height="1754" /></p>
<p>The wireless charger has an unusual design. It has an oval shape with a recess on one side for the phone to lie on and a large silver button/knob on the other side. The underside has vents for heat dissipation. There is also a silicone strip around the base to prevent it from slipping.</p>
<p>The OPPO Ace 2 launches on Monday, April 13 which is a day before the OnePlus 8 series&#8217; launch. <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> is also expected to announce its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/07/renders-of-oneplus-warp-charge-30-wireless-charger-leaks/">first wireless charger</a> on that day but unlike OPPO&#8217;s charger, it supports 30W fast charge and has a vertical stand design.</p>
<p>The price tag for the AirVOOC wireless charger is unknown but expect it not to be cheap.</p>

Today, the OPPO VP revealed that the OPPO Ace2 will be announced on April 13. The successor of the OPPO Reno Ace will not have “Reno” in its moniker. Hence, it will be debuting as OPPO Ace2.</p>

<p>The Weibo post from Shen also suggests that the next Ace product will be called <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-ace-2/">OPPO Ace2</a>. It is speculated that Ace will be a new smartphone series that will include gaming-centric phones. The Ace2 and the forthcoming Ace phones are expected to offer users with higher screen refresh rate and touch sampling rate. Probably, the Ace series will rival with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iqoo">iQOO</a> lineup from Vivo.</p>

While it will be driven by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform, it will be positioned lower than the premium OPPO Find X2 and Find X2 Pro phones that were made official recently. Fresh information reveals that the Reno Ace 2 will be arriving with the world’s fastest wireless charging technology.</p>
<p>The chief scientist of the OPPO VOOC Flash Charge department revealed today on Weibo that Reno Ace 2 will support 40W fast wireless charging technology. It won’t be the first ever to arrive with the rapidest wireless charging feature. The premium <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-p40-pro-plus">Huawei P40 Pro+</a> smartphone that debuted yesterday is the first ever phone to come with 40W wireless charging support.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/27/oppo-reno-ace-2-to-support-40w-wireless-charging/oppo-reno-ace-2-40w-wirelessc-charging-support/" rel="attachment wp-att-313089"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-313089" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/OPPO-Reno-Ace-2-40W-wirelessc-charging-support.png?x10805" alt="" width="523" height="103" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/OPPO-Reno-Ace-2-40W-wirelessc-charging-support.png 523w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/OPPO-Reno-Ace-2-40W-wirelessc-charging-support-300x59.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 523px) 100vw, 523px" /></a></p>

<p>The Reno Ace 2 is also expected to support 65W wired charging tech. There are couple of reasons behind to support this claim. The original OPPO Reno Ace that was announced in October 2019 had featured 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge support. Also, a new OPPO smartphone with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/25/oppo-reno-ace-2-seemingly-3c-certified-with-65w-fast-charger/">5G support and 65W fast charging</a> recently appeared on the database of China’s 3C authority. It is being said that the PDHM00 could be the Reno Ace 2 that will break cover next month.</p>
<p>The specifications of the OPPO Reno Ace 2 smartphone are currently under the wraps. Earlier this month, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/20/oppo-reno-ace-2-live-shot-reveals-oreo-camera-design/">a leaked shot of the phone</a> had surfaced on Weibo. It revealed that the glass rear of the phone was found fitted with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/23/oppo-reno-ace-2-case-leak-confirms-the-previously-leaked-design/">round-shaped camera system</a>. Like the predecessor phone, the Reno Ace 2 could be equipped with four rear-facing cameras. When OPPO VP Brian Shen had confirmed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/25/oppo-reno-ace-2-launch-april-2020/">April launch for Reno Ace 2</a>, he also revealed that it has a lightweight body.</p>

<p>The PDHM00 was previously spotted at the database of Wi-Fi Alliance. The listing had revealed that it runs on Android 10 OS and it carries support for Wi-Fi 802.11ac.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/25/oppo-reno-ace-2-seemingly-3c-certified-with-65w-fast-charger/oppo-reno-ace-2-3c-listing/" rel="attachment wp-att-312571"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-312571" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-3C-listing.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="768" height="119" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-3C-listing.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-3C-listing-300x46.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-3C-listing-696x108.jpg 696w" sizes="(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px" /></a></p>
<p>The same PDHM00 OPPO phone has now appeared on the 3C authority in China. The listing confirms that it is a 5G-enabled device. Now, after five months from its release, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/20/oppo-reno-ace-2-live-shot-reveals-oreo-camera-design/">an alleged live image</a> of its successor called ‘Reno Ace 2’ surfaced on Weibo a few days back, courtesy of popular leaker Digital Chat Station. Followed by that, a picture of the purported phone’s soft transparent TPU case leaks today with the same design.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-312065" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-Live-Image-Leak.jpg?x10805" alt="Oppo Reno Ace 2 Live Image Leak" width="690" height="518" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-Live-Image-Leak.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-Live-Image-Leak-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-Live-Image-Leak-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-Live-Image-Leak-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-Live-Image-Leak-559x420.jpg 559w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Last year, Oppo released two flagship smartphones namely </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/Oppo-Reno-10x-Zoom/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reno 10x Zoom</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/Oppo-Reno-Ace"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reno Ace</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Although both launched under the company’s new series, they featured different naming from each other. But now as per the new live image leaks of the device and its case, the next Reno flagship will be indeed called Reno Ace 2, confirming it to a direct successor to the last high-end phone in the Reno series.</span></p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-TPU-Case-Leak.jpg?x10805"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-312064" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-TPU-Case-Leak.jpg?x10805" alt="Oppo Reno Ace 2 TPU Case Leak" width="690" height="920" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-TPU-Case-Leak.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-TPU-Case-Leak-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Oppo-Reno-Ace-2-TPU-Case-Leak-315x420.jpg 315w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But what is more interesting is that this handset features the exact same design and colour scheme as the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/OnePlus-7T"><span style="font-weight: 400;">OnePlus 7T</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> as per the leaks. The image of the case that was posted online today reiterates the same design as the previous leak and somewhat confirms the Reno Ace 2 to certainly feature the 7T design. But there are some dissimilarities for sure. For instance, the volume buttons are two separate keys on Reno Ace 2 compared to OnePlus 7T’s single large key. Also, the 7T has a single speaker grille at the bottom since the other side of the USB Type-C port is accommodated by the SIM card slot. Whereas, the Reno Ace 2 seems to have dual speaker grille from the leaked live image.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Further, the Reno Ace 2 looks to have a quad-camera setup, unlike triple cameras on the OnePlus 7T but they both have the same circular camera bump popularly known as ‘Oreo’ design. With all that being said, there is one thing that makes the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oppo/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Oppo </span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">phone different from </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OnePlus/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">OnePlus</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in look and feel is the shiny glass back rather than the frosted matte panel.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Unfortunately, there is nothing else known about the upcoming Reno Ace 2 except for its primary camera sensor, which could be the same tried and tested </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2018/07/23/sony-imx586-image-sensor-announced/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">48 MP Sony IMX586</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>

The handset may soon get replaced by the successor model. While OPPO is still silent on its existence, a reputed tipster from China has shared a live shot of the Reno Ace 2. The leaked image shows that it will be sporting an Oreo camera design on its back.</p>
<p>As it can be seen, the alleged OPPO Reno Ace 2 can be seen flaunting a blue colored rear shell. It appears to be made out of glass. The circular camera module seems to be fitted with four cameras. The LED flash which isn’t visible in the image could be placed on the left side of the camera setup. The predecessor OPPO Reno Ace had featured a vertical camera setup on its back.</p>
<p>The left side of the phone has volume up and down buttons. A USB-C port is placed between two speaker grilles on the bottom side of the device. Its right edge could be having a power button.</p>

<p>The display design of the OPPO Reno Ace 2 is not known yet. Probably, the handset may graduate to punch-hole display from waterdrop notch screen that was made available on the original Reno Ace. The rumor mill is yet to spill the specifications of the Reno Ace 2.</p>

<h3><strong>OPPO Reno Ace specifications</strong></h3>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-reno-ace">OPPO Reno Ace</a> had arrived with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with in-screen fingerprint reader. The screen supported 90Hz refresh rate, full HD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The Snapdragon 855+ SoC fueled the device. The handset sported up to 8 GB of RAM and UFS 3.0 storage of up to 128 GB.</p>
<p>The quad camera setup placed on the rear side of the OPPO Reno Ace featured a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 main lens, a 13-megapixel telephoto lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor. It had a front camera of 16-megapxiel. The phone was backed by a 4,000mAh battery. The 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 charger could completely charge the phone in around 30 minutes.</p>
