OPPO announced the OPPO F17 Pro smartphone in India last month. Since then the company has been busy launching its rebranded editions in different markets. The handset has already available in OPPO A93 in Vietnam and Reno4 Lite in Ukraine and now it has gone official with the OPPO Reno4 F moniker in Indonesia.  The F17 Pro and A93 support 30W VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge, whereas the newly announced Reno4 F and Reno4 Lite carry 18W fast charging. The other specs of the Reno4 F are identical to the F17 Pro.

OPPO Reno4 F specifications and features

The OPPO Reno4 F flaunts a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen that delivers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 409ppi pixel density, and 60Hz refresh rate. The company claims that the Reno4 F with its dual punch-hole screen offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90.67 percent. The AMOLED screen is integrated with a fingerprint scanner and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The device boots to Android 10 OS that is overlaid with ColorOS 7.2 UI.

The front-facing camera setup has a 16-megapixel primary camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The square-shaped camera lens placed on the backside of the phone has a 48-megapixel Samsung GM1ST main shooter with f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a pair of 2-megapixel mono cameras with f/2.4 apertures.

The Reno4 F draws power from a 4,015mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. The Helio P95 chipset by MediaTek is the driving force of the device. It comes with 8 GB of LPPDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The handset is packed with usual connectivity features such as dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone slot.

OPPO Reno4 F pricing and release date

Indonesia has received the Reno4 F with a price tag of IDR 4,299,000 (~$292). It is now available for pre-orders in the country and its sales are scheduled to begin on Oct. 16 through Shopee. The phone can be bought in colors like Matte Black and Metallic White.

Next quarter, OPPO should announce the Reno5 series in China but it appears it is not yet done with the Reno4 series as it prepares to launch a new model next month. OPPO Indonesia has released a teaser poster and video that reveals a new phone called the Reno4 F will launch next month.

The poster shows the side view of the OPPO Reno 4F. It says the smartphone is “ultra sleek” and “ultra light” and it will be announced on October 12, 2020. A page on the OPPO Store for the country says the phone will have 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and come in White. The teaser video below, posted on the OPPO Indonesia YouTube Channel, doesn’t reveal much either.

Thankfully, Sudhanshu Ambhore, the Indian leaker, has shared a poster on Twitter that reveals more details of the upcoming phone.

The image which we have posted below shows the Reno4 F has the same design as the OPPO F17 Pro. The screen has a double punch hole at the top left corner for two selfie cameras and on the back are four cameras arranged in a squircle. The image also reveals that the OPPO Reno4 F will be available in Black and White colorways with a two-tone finish.

As stated on the poster, the phone has a Super AMOLED display, a 4000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. The cameras are loaded with features including an AI Color Portrait mode, AI Beauty Mode, Ultra Clear 108MP mode, 4K video recording for the front cameras, a night selfie mode, and a night flare portrait mode.

While the design is similar to that of the F17 Pro, we can’t say if the Reno4 F is just rebadged until we see the full specs sheet. We wouldn’t rule out the possibility of OPPO changing a few specifications such as the processor or the camera configuration just to distinguish both phones. The F17 Pro is already sold in some parts of Europe as the Reno4 Lite.
