However, it looks like the ROG Phone 8 Pro has received some turning, which has finally landed it on top of the AnTuTu charts for March 2024. The ROG Phone 8 Pro was launched back in January featuring the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship SoC. It has scored 2,141,448 on the benchmark.</p>

<p>That being said, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oppo-find-x7/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OPPO Find X7</a> with 2,138,119 points is still hot on its heels with a difference of just 3,329. What this means is that both the Dimensity 9300 and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips are on par with each other in performance, which is quite good for competition in the industry. It will be interesting to see what MediaTek and Qualcomm have in store for us with their next-gen chips. Reports have claimed that both the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and the Dimensity 9400 chips are <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/03/12/both-snapdragon-8-gen-4-and-dimensity-9400-scored-higher-than-apple-a18-pro-in-geekbench-multi-core/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">outperforming Apple&#8217;s A18 Pro</a> in multi-core tests.</p>

<p>Moving on, the iQOO 12 is in the third position, while Nubia&#8217;s Red Magic 9 Pro+ gaming smartphone equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is in the fourth spot with 2,098,269. It trails the ROG Phone 8 Pro by 43,179 points. The Vivo X100 Pro featuring a Dimensity 9300 rounds up the top 5. While the sixth to tenth spots are occupied by the iQOO Neo 9 Pro, iQOO 12 Pro, Vivo X100, Nubia Z60 Ultra, and the OPPO Find X7 Ultra. We have also separately covered this month&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/04/02/antutu-top-10-flagship-killers-march-2024/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">top-performing Flagship killers</a> with the newly launched OnePlus Ace 3V dethroning the dominant Redmi K70E for the top spot.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/asus">Asus</a> has finally announced the ROG Phone 8 series of gaming phones. In a departure from previous models, the ROG Phone 8 and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/asus-rog-phone-8-pro/">ROG Phone 8 Pro</a> maintain their high performance with flagship chipsets but diverge from the hardcore gaming design seen in their predecessors. Additionally, the ROG Phone 8 series features the most advanced camera system ever integrated into a ROG series phone. Instead of a hard-core gaming phone, the new smartphones carry a daily driver appeal. Here is a look at what’s in store for the buyers of the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro.</p>

<p>The previously released ROG phones featured thick bezels, but the new ROG Phone 8 series looks attractive from the front as it features a flat display with centred punch-hole and slimmer bezels. Moving to the back, the ROR Phone 8 sports a customizable Aura RGB lighting logo, whereas the Pro variant features a customizable AniMe Vision mini-LED lighting equipped with 341 LEDs. Both devices offer IP68-rated dust and water resistance.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.giztop.com/asus-rog-phone-8-pro.html">ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro</a> have a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED LTPO display that offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 165Hz refresh rate, up to 2,500 nits of peak brightness, glove touch support, and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Both devices measure 163.8 x 76.8 x 8.9mm and 225 grams, making them thinner and lighter than the ROG Phone 7 series. The ROG Phone 8 comes in shades, such as Rebel Grey and Phantom Black. On the other hand, the Pro variant comes in Phantom Black only.</p>

<h3><strong>Specifications and Camera</strong></h3>

<p>For an enhanced gaming experience, it comes with the &#8220;AI Grabber” feature, which is designed to streamline the process of searching for gaming walkthroughs by recognizing and copying in-game text. To make it easier to find a relevant walkthrough, Asus provided an example of copying a mission objective from a game like Genshin Impact. Additionally, Asus offers some AI-driven features, such as enhanced results through the phone launcher, Gallery, and Settings apps. An upcoming feature called &#8220;AI Wallpaper&#8221; is also in development, which will generate personalized wallpapers using stable diffusion.</p>

<p>Other than the global market, the ROG Phone 8 series will be launching on January 16 in China. The device will be going head-to-head with the likes of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/zte-nubia-red-magic-9-pro-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Red Magic 9 Pro</a>, which recently went on sale in the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2024/01/04/red-magic-9-pro-on-sale-globally/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">global market</a>. <h2>Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro specs:</h2>

<p>The leaked specifications for the <a href="https://www.giztop.com/asus-rog-phone-8-pro.html">Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro</a> suggest a 6.78-inch AMOLED display delivering Full HD+ resolution and an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, promising an engaging gaming experience. Powering the device is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a detail substantiated by a prior Geekbench listing. Potential configurations may offer a choice between 16GB or 24GB of RAM, along with varying storage capacities ranging from 512GB to 1TB.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="538" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/ROG-Phone-8-Pro-renders-1024x538.webp?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-595633" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/ROG-Phone-8-Pro-renders-1024x538.webp 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/ROG-Phone-8-Pro-renders-300x158.webp 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/ROG-Phone-8-Pro-renders-768x403.webp 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/ROG-Phone-8-Pro-renders-696x365.webp 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/ROG-Phone-8-Pro-renders-1068x561.webp 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/ROG-Phone-8-Pro-renders-800x420.webp 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/ROG-Phone-8-Pro-renders.webp 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Further speculations indicate a triple-camera setup for the smartphone, including a 50MP primary camera utilizing a Sony IMX890 sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP telephoto lens. The front is anticipated to house a 32MP camera for capturing selfies. The device is projected to house a robust 5,500mAh battery supporting 65W fast charging.</p>

<p>Additional features expected on the gaming phone encompass an in-display fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, a 5-magnet speaker system, along with connectivity features like Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. <p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/asus">Asus</a> is scheduled to announce the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/11/asus-rog-january-8-launch-event-announced/">ROG Phone 8 series</a> on Jan. 8 through the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2024 event. Later on, on<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/12/asus-rog-phone-8-launch-date-china/">&nbsp;Jan. 16</a>, the ROG-series gaming phones will be announced for the Chinese market. Today, the brand confirmed the IP rating of the ROG Phone 8 series.</p>

<h3><strong>ROG Phone 8 series to feature IP68-rated chassis</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="869" height="286" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/image-121.png?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-593423" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/image-121.png 869w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/image-121-300x99.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/image-121-768x253.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/image-121-696x229.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 869px) 100vw, 869px" /></figure>

<p>As can be seen in the above teaser, Asus has officially confirmed that the ROG Phone 8 series will come with an IP68-rated chassis. It means that the ROG Phone 8 series will feature a water- and dust-resistant design, providing users with enhanced durability and protection against the elements. The IP68 rating ensures that the chassis can withstand submersion in water up to a certain depth and is tightly sealed to prevent dust particles from entering, offering users a more robust and reliable gaming smartphone experience. It is a notable improvement from the ROG Phone 7&#8217;s IP54 and the ROG Phone 6 series&#8217; IPX4 ratings.</p>

<p>Previous teasers about the ROG Phone 8 series have revealed that it will sport a new display design. Instead of the thick bezels seen on predecessor models, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/asus-rog-phone-8">ROG Phone 8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/asus-rog-phone-8-pro/">8 Pro</a> will arrive with a punch-hole display surrounded by slim bezels. The brand also confirmed that the ROG Phone 8 series will support <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/18/rog-phone-8-series-to-feature-gimbal-stabilization-for-smoother-videos/">gimbal stabilization</a> for recording stabilized footage.</p>

<p>In the Chinese market, the ROG Phone 8 series will rival the Red Magic 9 Pro series. Like the Nubia gaming phones, the ROG Phone 8 and 8 Pro will feature the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-3">Snapdragon 8 Gen 3</a> chipset.</p>

<p>It appears that the ROG Phone 8 series won&#8217;t strictly adhere to the conventional gaming phone model of its predecessors. Instead, it appears to be p<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/15/asus-rog-phone-8-rog-phone-8-full-specifications-renders-leaked-well-before-launch/">erformance-oriented</a> with an added emphasis on features such as an improved camera experience.</p>

<p>Recent leaks from Windows Report spilled the beans on the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/rog-phone-8/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ROG Phone 8</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/rog-phone-8-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ROG Phone 8 Pro</a>. Now, these devices have emerged on Geekbench revealing the performance, while also confirming some key specs.</p>

<p>According to Geekbench, both ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro, identified as AI2401_C, will be powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/24/snapdragon-8-gen-3-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Snapdragon 8 Gen 3</a> SoC and will run on Android 14. Boasting 16GB of RAM, these devices scored 2210 and 6863 points in single-core and multi-core tests.</p>

<h2>ASUS ROG Phone 8 series specs:</h2>

<p>As per the previously <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/15/asus-rog-phone-8-rog-phone-8-full-specifications-renders-leaked-well-before-launch/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">leaked details</a>, the devices will have a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Storage options vary, with ROG Phone 8 offering up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB storage, while the Pro model might feature a 16GB/24GB RAM configuration and 512GB/1TB storage.</p>

<p>The ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, also fueled by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, is speculated to offer up to 24GB of RAM and support 65W fast charging, as indicated by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/15/asus-rog-phone-8-ultimate-bags-3c-certification/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">3C certification</a>.</p>

<p>Camera capabilities on the Pro model are rumored to include a 50MP rear camera (Sony IMX890 sensor), a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP telephoto lens. Selfie enthusiasts can expect a 32MP front camera. Both models may carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.</p>

<p>We can expect more details to emerge soon. Although the China launch is happening on January 16, the smartphones will be unveiled prior to that at CES on January 8. Asus is also cooking up the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/08/asus-rog-phon-8-rog-phone-8-pro-zenfone-11-ultra-receive-bluetooth-sig-certification/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Zenfone 11 series</a> compact smartphones as well. Although the chances are quite slim, the brand could showcase or tease the Zenfone 11 series at the CES 2024 event as well.</p>

<p><a href="https://gizmochina.com/tag/asus">Asus&#8217;s</a> Chinese division recently confirmed that it will unveil the ROG Phone 8 series of gaming smartphones <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/12/asus-rog-phone-8-launch-date-china/">on Jan. 16 in China</a>. Rumors surrounding the series suggest that it will not be entirely gaming-focused like the predecessor models. The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/15/asus-rog-phone-8-rog-phone-8-full-specifications-renders-leaked-well-before-launch/">leaked renders of the ROG Phone 8 series</a> and its specifications indicate a toned-down design with more emphasis on camera specifications, a departure from previous models. Today, the brand released the following teaser to reveal one of the camera capabilities of the ROG Phone 8 lineup.</p>

<h3><strong>ROG Phone 8 to offer gimbal stabilization </strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-video"><video controls src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/qp4CoKmqaePKEWPQ.mp4"></video></figure>

<p>In a Weibo post, Asus stated, &#8220;Concerned about shaky hands while shooting videos? The ROG Phone 8 series comes equipped with an anti-shake gimbal to address this&nbsp; issue.&#8221;A recent report leaked all the major specs of the ROG Phone 8 and the ROG Phone 8 Pro.</p>

<p>It is speculated that the ROG Phone 8 Pro will arrive with an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 primary camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 32-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. However, there is no information about the camera specifications of the ROG Phone 8. It is likely to have a similar camera setup, minus the telephoto camera. With ample time remaining for the launch, Asus is expected to reveal more details about the ROG Phone 8 series through new teasers in the coming days.</p>

<p>As per reports, the ROG Phone 8 series will sport a new display design featuring a punch-hole screen with a centred punch-hole. It will have a 6.78-inch FHD+ 165Hz AMOLED display, a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-3">Snapdragon 8 Gen 3</a> chip, a 5,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support, a 32-megapixel front camera, and an IP68-rated chassis.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-series-leaked-renders-4-1024x683.png?x10805" alt="ASUS ROG Phone 8 series leaked renders" class="wp-image-590846" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-series-leaked-renders-4-1024x683.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-series-leaked-renders-4-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-series-leaked-renders-4-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-series-leaked-renders-4-1536x1024.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-series-leaked-renders-4-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-series-leaked-renders-4-1068x712.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-series-leaked-renders-4-630x420.png 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-series-leaked-renders-4.png 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>ASUS ROG Phone 8 series leaked renders by WindowsReport</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The ROG Phone 8 may arrive with 12 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. On the other hand, the Pro variant may be released in configurations such as 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage and 24 GB RAM + 1 TB storage. The series will run on ROG UI-based Android 14.</p>

<p>Before arriving in China, the ROG Phone 8 series will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/11/asus-rog-january-8-launch-event-announced/">debut</a> at the CES 2024 tech event on Jan. 8.</p>

In China, the brand is going to unveil the ROG Phone 8 lineup <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/12/asus-rog-phone-8-launch-date-china/">on Jan. 16</a>. Well ahead of the launch, <em>WindowsReport </em>has published a report to leak the renders and full specifications of the ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro. <p>The leaked renders show that the upcoming ROG Phone 8 and ROG Phone 8 Pro mark a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/12/asus-rog-phone-8-design-officially-revealed/">significant shift</a> from the traditional hardcore gaming phone design of their predecessors. The front now features a modern punch-hole display, while the back boasts a prominent camera module in the top-right corner. The back panel also features an RGB-lit logo and gaming mottos. The report states that the ROG Phone 8 has a matte finish on the back, whereas the Pro variant looks premium with its glossy rear design. The brand has now confirmed that the device will debut in China on January 16.</p>

<p>The announcement does not reveal any new details about the smartphone, but it does confirm that the launch event will kick off at 7:30 PM (GMT+8). Here&#8217;s everything known so far about the ROG Phone 8 series.</p>

<h2>ASUS ROG Phone 8 series: What we know so far</h2>

<p>White Asus has not confirmed any details other than a partial back design as seen in the teaser image above, netizens have blown out the shadows from the teaser revealing a redesigned camera island.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="461" height="468" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/GBHSZ7rbEAE9GmX.jpg?x10805" alt="ASUS ROG Phone 8" class="wp-image-589829" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/GBHSZ7rbEAE9GmX.jpg 461w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/GBHSZ7rbEAE9GmX-296x300.jpg 296w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/GBHSZ7rbEAE9GmX-414x420.jpg 414w" sizes="(max-width: 461px) 100vw, 461px" /></figure></div>

<p>The new model will feature a square-shaped camera module, which cuts off from the right edge, technically making it a pentagon. On it, we can see three camera modules, along with an LED flash. Since there are no flashy RGB LEDs on the back, it&#8217;s safe to assume that this might be the vanilla ROG Phone 8.</p>

<p>All three models of the series, namely ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate have appeared on Geekbench revealing some interesting details. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/09/asus-rog-phone-8-8-pro-spotted-on-geekbench/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Geekbench listings</a> show that the vanilla model features 16GB RAM, while the Pro and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/21/asus-rog-phone-8-ultimate-surfaces-on-geekbench-with-24gb-ram/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ultimate</a> models have 24GB RAM onboard. Other than that, the vanilla ROG Phone 8 appears to come with a standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, while the Pro and Ultimate models feature an overclocked variant of the chip, with slightly boosted peak clock speed.</p>

<p>While the global launch date has not been confirmed yet, ASUS ROG will be holding an event on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/11/asus-rog-january-8-launch-event-announced/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">January 8</a>, a day before CES 2024, to unveil &#8220;ROG&#8217;s exciting new lineup for 2024&#8221;. It is speculated that the brand might take the curtains off the ROG Phone 8 at this event.</p>

<p>CES 2024 is just around the corner with major tech OEMs gearing up to unveil what they have been cooking up for the future. Along with that, we might also see a bunch of new launches from various brands. A day ahead of the CES, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/asus/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ASUS</a>&#8216;s gaming division ROG has announced a launch event, where the brand will unveil its &#8220;lineup for 2024&#8221;.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="598" height="608" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/noO2LOuoe3.png?x10805" alt="Asus ROG January 2024 event" class="wp-image-589722" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/noO2LOuoe3.png 598w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/noO2LOuoe3-295x300.png 295w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/noO2LOuoe3-413x420.png 413w" sizes="(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px" /></figure></div>

<p>With the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/08/asus-rog-phone-8-teased-global-launch-soon/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">recent teaser</a> of the ASUS ROG Phone 8, it is more than likely that we see the flagship gaming smartphone launch at this January 8 event. The brand could also unveil new gaming laptops, as well as new monitors at this event. A previous <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/11/asus-zephyrus-g14-gaming-laptop-expected-unveiled-ces-2024-teased/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">teaser</a> confirms that the ROG Zephyris G14 will be among the hardware unveiled on January 8.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-1024x576.jpeg?x10805" alt="ASUS ROG Phone 8" class="wp-image-589035" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-1536x864.jpeg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-747x420.jpeg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser.jpeg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Back to the ROG Phone 8, the device was recently <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/09/asus-rog-phone-8-8-pro-spotted-on-geekbench/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">spotted on Geekbench</a> alongside the ROG Phone 8 Pro. Both of these smartphones will feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, alongside a new back design. The Geekbench listing also revealed that the vanilla model features 16GB RAM, while the Pro model has 24GB RAM onboard. Another interesting fact is that while the vanilla model has a standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the Pro model appears to feature an overclocked version with higher clock speed on its prime core.</p>

<p>The third and final variant is expected to be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/21/asus-rog-phone-8-ultimate-surfaces-on-geekbench-with-24gb-ram/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ROG Phone 8 Ultimate</a>, featuring an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and an impressive 24GB of RAM. Further details about these devices are anticipated to emerge in the coming days. Meanwhile, it&#8217;s worth turning attention to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/23/red-magic-9-pro-global-launch-date/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Red Magic 9 series</a>, standing as the sole rival to the ROG Phone following the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/29/lenovo-shuts-down-its-legion-gaming-phone-business/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">exit of the Lenovo Legion Phone</a> from the gaming phone arena.</p>

<p>In October, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/asus">Asus</a> confirmed that the upcoming ROG Phone 8 series of gaming phones will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. In the subsequent weeks, one of the ROG Phone 8 variants has appeared in the databases of Geekbench and China’s 3C certification platform. The arrival of the ROG Phone 8 series seems imminent, as it has now received approval from the Bluetooth SIG authority.&nbsp; In addition, the same certification platform has also been certified by the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra.</p>

<h3><strong>ROG Phone 8 series, Zenfone 11 Ultra Bluetooth SIG certified</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image is-style-default"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="566" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ROG-Phone-8-series-Zenfone-11-Ultra-Bluetooth-SIG-1024x566.jpg?x10805" alt="Asus ROG Phone 8 series, Zenfone 11 Ultra Bluetooth SIG certified" class="wp-image-588927" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ROG-Phone-8-series-Zenfone-11-Ultra-Bluetooth-SIG-1024x566.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ROG-Phone-8-series-Zenfone-11-Ultra-Bluetooth-SIG-300x166.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ROG-Phone-8-series-Zenfone-11-Ultra-Bluetooth-SIG-768x424.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ROG-Phone-8-series-Zenfone-11-Ultra-Bluetooth-SIG-696x385.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ROG-Phone-8-series-Zenfone-11-Ultra-Bluetooth-SIG-1068x590.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ROG-Phone-8-series-Zenfone-11-Ultra-Bluetooth-SIG-760x420.jpg 760w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ROG-Phone-8-series-Zenfone-11-Ultra-Bluetooth-SIG.jpg 1486w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Asus ROG Phone 8 series, Zenfone 11 Ultra Bluetooth SIG certified</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>As can be seen, the ROG Phone 8 identified with model numbers such as ASUS_AI2401_D, ASUS_AI2401_A, ASUS_AI2401_C, and ASUS_AI2401_E has been approved by the Bluetooth SIG authority.</p>

<p>The ROG Phone 8 Pro bearing similar model numbers, such as ASUS_AI2401_A, ASUS_AI2401_C, and ASUS_AI2401_F, has also received Bluetooth SIG certification.</p>

<p>To recall, the AI2401_A variant was spotted with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 16 GB of RAM, and Android 14 on Geekbench, and it was spotted with a 65W fast charger in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/15/asus-rog-phone-8-ultimate-bags-3c-certification/">China’s 3C certification</a>. On the other hand, the AI2401_D variant has appeared with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/21/asus-rog-phone-8-ultimate-surfaces-on-geekbench-with-24gb-ram/">24 GB of RAM on Geekbench</a>. There is a possibility that one of the ROG Phone 8 variants, probably the one with 24 GB of RAM, could be marketed as the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate.</p>

<p>It was reported in August that the Zenfone 10, which debuted earlier this year, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/08/27/zenfone-10-series-could-be-last-generation-as-asus-continues-organizational-restructure/">could be the last Zenfone series phone</a> from the brand. However, Asus quickly debunked the rumor by officially confirming that it will <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/08/29/asus-zenfone-discontinuation/">continue to produce the Zenfone line</a>. Now, as can be seen in the above screenshot, the Zenfone 11 Ultra bearing the ASUS_AI2401_H is also in the works. Now that the Ultra variant has been spotted, it appears that the lineup may also include at least another model bearing the Zenfone 11 moniker. Unfortunately, nothing is known about the specifications of the Zenfone 11 series.</p>

<p>The Bluetooth SIG certification also shows that all the above devices will support Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity. The ROG Phone 8 series may likely launch in Q1 2024 in different markets. </p>
