<p>The ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, also fueled by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, is speculated to offer up to 24GB of RAM and support 65W fast charging, as indicated by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/15/asus-rog-phone-8-ultimate-bags-3c-certification/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">3C certification</a>.</p>

<p>Camera capabilities on the Pro model are rumored to include a 50MP rear camera (Sony IMX890 sensor), a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32MP telephoto lens. Selfie enthusiasts can expect a 32MP front camera. Both models may carry an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.</p>

<p>We can expect more details to emerge soon. Although the China launch is happening on January 16, the smartphones will be unveiled prior to that at CES on January 8. Asus is also cooking up the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/08/asus-rog-phon-8-rog-phone-8-pro-zenfone-11-ultra-receive-bluetooth-sig-certification/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Zenfone 11 series</a> compact smartphones as well. Although the chances are quite slim, the brand could showcase or tease the Zenfone 11 series at the CES 2024 event as well.</p>

The device will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, likely paired with ASUS&#8217;s cutting-edge heat dissipation solution to give the best performance possible in gaming. The brand has now confirmed that the device will debut in China on January 16.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="640" height="825" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/7IwtMT0OHw.png?x44794" alt="Asus ROG Phone 8 series China" class="wp-image-589826" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/7IwtMT0OHw.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/7IwtMT0OHw-233x300.png 233w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/7IwtMT0OHw-326x420.png 326w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></figure></div>

<p>The announcement does not reveal any new details about the smartphone, but it does confirm that the launch event will kick off at 7:30 PM (GMT+8). Here&#8217;s everything known so far about the ROG Phone 8 series.</p>

<h2>ASUS ROG Phone 8 series: What we know so far</h2>

<p>White Asus has not confirmed any details other than a partial back design as seen in the teaser image above, netizens have blown out the shadows from the teaser revealing a redesigned camera island.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="461" height="468" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/GBHSZ7rbEAE9GmX.jpg?x44794" alt="ASUS ROG Phone 8" class="wp-image-589829" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/GBHSZ7rbEAE9GmX.jpg 461w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/GBHSZ7rbEAE9GmX-296x300.jpg 296w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/GBHSZ7rbEAE9GmX-414x420.jpg 414w" sizes="(max-width: 461px) 100vw, 461px" /></figure></div>

<p>The new model will feature a square-shaped camera module, which cuts off from the right edge, technically making it a pentagon. On it, we can see three camera modules, along with an LED flash. Since there are no flashy RGB LEDs on the back, it&#8217;s safe to assume that this might be the vanilla ROG Phone 8.</p>

<p>All three models of the series, namely ROG Phone 8, ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ROG Phone 8 Ultimate have appeared on Geekbench revealing some interesting details. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/09/asus-rog-phone-8-8-pro-spotted-on-geekbench/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Geekbench listings</a> show that the vanilla model features 16GB RAM, while the Pro and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/21/asus-rog-phone-8-ultimate-surfaces-on-geekbench-with-24gb-ram/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Ultimate</a> models have 24GB RAM onboard. Other than that, the vanilla ROG Phone 8 appears to come with a standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, while the Pro and Ultimate models feature an overclocked variant of the chip, with slightly boosted peak clock speed.</p>

<p>While the global launch date has not been confirmed yet, ASUS ROG will be holding an event on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/11/asus-rog-january-8-launch-event-announced/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">January 8</a>, a day before CES 2024, to unveil &#8220;ROG&#8217;s exciting new lineup for 2024&#8221;. It is speculated that the brand might take the curtains off the ROG Phone 8 at this event.</p>

<p>CES 2024 is just around the corner with major tech OEMs gearing up to unveil what they have been cooking up for the future. Along with that, we might also see a bunch of new launches from various brands. A day ahead of the CES, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/asus/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ASUS</a>&#8216;s gaming division ROG has announced a launch event, where the brand will unveil its &#8220;lineup for 2024&#8221;.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="598" height="608" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/noO2LOuoe3.png?x44794" alt="Asus ROG January 2024 event" class="wp-image-589722" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/noO2LOuoe3.png 598w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/noO2LOuoe3-295x300.png 295w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/noO2LOuoe3-413x420.png 413w" sizes="(max-width: 598px) 100vw, 598px" /></figure></div>

<p>With the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/08/asus-rog-phone-8-teased-global-launch-soon/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">recent teaser</a> of the ASUS ROG Phone 8, it is more than likely that we see the flagship gaming smartphone launch at this January 8 event. The brand could also unveil new gaming laptops, as well as new monitors at this event. A previous <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/11/asus-zephyrus-g14-gaming-laptop-expected-unveiled-ces-2024-teased/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">teaser</a> confirms that the ROG Zephyris G14 will be among the hardware unveiled on January 8.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-1024x576.jpeg?x44794" alt="ASUS ROG Phone 8" class="wp-image-589035" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-300x169.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-768x432.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-1536x864.jpeg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-696x392.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-1068x601.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser-747x420.jpeg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/ASUS-ROG-Phone-8-Global-Launch-Teaser.jpeg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>Back to the ROG Phone 8, the device was recently <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/12/09/asus-rog-phone-8-8-pro-spotted-on-geekbench/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">spotted on Geekbench</a> alongside the ROG Phone 8 Pro. Both of these smartphones will feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, alongside a new back design. The Geekbench listing also revealed that the vanilla model features 16GB RAM, while the Pro model has 24GB RAM onboard. Another interesting fact is that while the vanilla model has a standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the Pro model appears to feature an overclocked version with higher clock speed on its prime core.</p>

<p>The third and final variant is expected to be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/21/asus-rog-phone-8-ultimate-surfaces-on-geekbench-with-24gb-ram/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ROG Phone 8 Ultimate</a>, featuring an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and an impressive 24GB of RAM. Further details about these devices are anticipated to emerge in the coming days. Meanwhile, it&#8217;s worth turning attention to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/23/red-magic-9-pro-global-launch-date/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Red Magic 9 series</a>, standing as the sole rival to the ROG Phone following the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/03/29/lenovo-shuts-down-its-legion-gaming-phone-business/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">exit of the Lenovo Legion Phone</a> from the gaming phone arena.</p>

<p>Following the recent reveal of <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/11/15/asus-rog-phone-8-ultimate-bags-3c-certification/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ROG Phone 8 Ultimate&#8217;s charging speeds,</a> a new piece of information about the smartphone has emerged, thanks to a listing on Geekbench. It reveals key specifications of the smartphone, including its chipset, RAM, and software.</p>

<h2><strong>ROG Phone 8 Ultimate Geekbench benchmark surfaces</strong></h2>

<p>According to the Geekbench listing, the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate will be powered by the latest Qualcomm<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/10/24/snapdragon-8-gen-3-launched/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Snapdragon 8 Gen 3</a> chipset, paired with an impressive 24GB of RAM.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="432" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Asus-ROG-Phone-8-Ultimate-Geekbench-Listing.jpg?x44794" alt="Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate Geekbench" class="wp-image-584163" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Asus-ROG-Phone-8-Ultimate-Geekbench-Listing.jpg 432w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Asus-ROG-Phone-8-Ultimate-Geekbench-Listing-216x300.jpg 216w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Asus-ROG-Phone-8-Ultimate-Geekbench-Listing-302x420.jpg 302w" sizes="(max-width: 432px) 100vw, 432px" /><figcaption><strong><kbd>Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate on Geekbench</kbd></strong><br></figcaption></figure></div>

<p>In benchmark testing, the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate delivered an impressive performance, achieving a score of 2,235 points in the single-core test and 7,098 points in the multi-core test. These figures closely match the benchmark scores shared by Qualcomm during the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3&#8217;s announcement.</p>

<p>Furthermore, the listing also confirms that the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate will run on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/android-14/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Android 14</a>, likely with Asus&#8217;s custom ROG UI overlay.</p>

<p>While information about the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate remains limited, the surfacing of these details suggests that more revelations are on the horizon.</p>
