Chinese computer manufacturer Mechanike has introduced a new model to its Sugon lineup, featuring an impressive combination of hardware components. Priced at an initial offering of 8,499 yuan (~$1200), the Sugon desktop setup boasts a powerful configuration, catering to users with demanding computing needs.

Technical details of the high-performance computing solution

The centerpiece of this Sugon model is the 14th generation Intel Core i7-14700K processor, a 20-core 28-thread powerhouse with a maximum core frequency of 5.6GHz. Complementing the robust processing capabilities is the Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB graphics card, providing a significant boost for graphics-intensive tasks. The system also includes 16GB of DDR5 5600MHz high-speed memory and a spacious 1TB PCIe 4.0 high-speed SSD, ensuring quick and efficient data access.

The chassis of the host features a WINDCROSS 5.0 water-cooled cooling system. This cooling solution incorporates a three-in and three-out balanced air duct layout, a 240 full-blood specification water-cooled radiator, and customizable lighting effects. The light strip comes with 16 preset lighting effects, supporting one-click switching and software dimming, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the system. Lenovo is set to launch a new series gaming laptops in India soon. The company announced that the latest lineup of gaming laptops is from the LOQ series under the banner of “Time to Raise the Gaming Stakes”.

The LOQ series of gaming notebooks are built to meet the needs of Indian gamers. The series include 15-inch and 16-inch offerings that are powered by either an AMD Ryzen 7000 series or a 13th Gen Intel Core processors. The CPU is paired with Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics cards, which enables ray tracing for a more immersive gaming experience. For memory, the company teased up to 32GB of dual channel 5200MHz DDR5 RAM, 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage, and an open M.2 slot for memory expansion.

As per official notes, the new laptops will offer a 115W of Max TDP, Dynamic Boost, and a MUX switch. The screen on the upcoming laptops feature what the company calls the “PureSight” display, which offers a 15-inch and 16-inch displays (16:9 and 16:10 aspect ratio respectively). The panels also offer 165Hz refresh rate, 100 percent sRGB color gamut, and Nvidia G-Sync support.

Lenovo’s new laptops will be powered by a 60Wh battery pack that supports 140W USB Type-C charging. The Chinese PC maker claims that the fast charging can help the laptop hit 50% in just 30 minutes. Nvidia has just launched its latest generation of RTX 40 series entry level graphics cards in the Indian market. The company has unveiled the new GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti, so let’s have a look.

Nvidia launches RTX 4060 & RTX 4060 Ti with DLSS 3, 3rd Gen Ray Tracing tech

The popular graphics cards maker has just announced the two new cards, which are entry level cards that are based on its newest Ada Lovelace architecture. Notably, this launch also arrives a month after the brand released its higher end mid range card, the RTX 4070 in the region. Since these two cards are based on the RTX 40 series, they also feature the latest DLSS 3 as well as third generation of ray tracing technology.

In other words, one can boost their gaming performance while also get improved visual fidelity on these newer cards. Based on official notes, the RTX 4060 Ti is 2.6 times faster than the RTX 2060 SUPER and around 1.7 times faster than the RTX 3060 Ti. The bump in performance is partially thanks to its new L2 cache and GDDR6 memory, with the RTX 4060 Ti offering 32MB of L2 cache, while the RTX 4060 has 24MB L2 cache. The former arrives in an 8GB or 16GB GDDR6 variant, while the latter comes in a single 8GB GDDR6 memory version.

The new Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 will be available for purchase in July 2023 and will have a price tag of 31,000 INR, which is higher than its 299 US Dollar price tag in the US. On the other hand, the 8GB version of the RTX 4060 Ti will go on sale on May 24 for 41,000 US Dollars in India. Lastly, the RTX 4060 Ti’s 16GB VRAM variant will go on sale in July as well, for 51,500 INR. It seems that this situation might be intentional, as reports suggest that Nvidia is holding off on increasing the production of the RTX 40-series. Here are the details….

Nvidia Reportedly Holding Off on Boosting RTX 40-Series Production: Is It A Strategic Move?

According to a recent report by DigiTimes, Nvidia may be taking a strategic approach with its latest GeForce RTX 40-series GPUs based on the Ada Lovelace architecture. The company’s backend service providers, Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) and King Yuan Electronics (KYEC), have reportedly not seen increased orders for testing and packaging of the new GPUs. This suggests that Nvidia is waiting for its partners to sell off remaining GeForce RTX 30-series inventory before supplying them with the latest generation graphics chips.

Despite having introduced an extensive range of Ada Lovelace GPUs for client applications, including the AD102, AD103, AD104, AD106, and AD107, Nvidia has not signaled to its OSAT providers to scale up production for the GeForce RTX 40-series. The company had previously pre-paid TSMC for silicon manufacturing services during 2021-2022, and likely has N4-based Ada Lovelace wafers in stock. However, it still needs to book OSAT capacity before ramping up orders to increase supply.

Usually, Nvidia’s sales of GPUs to its partners trend upward in the third quarter, which should lead to the company booking OSAT services at this time. However, if the DigiTimes report is accurate, it seems that Nvidia is holding off on increasing testing and packaging of its Ada Lovelace silicon. Nvidia’s partners have already started shipping GeForce RTX 4070, RTX 4070 Ti, RTX 4080, and RTX 4090 graphics cards for desktops. Despite being among the top graphics cards available, demand for these products is reportedly not as high as Nvidia would like.

The market has also seen a variety of laptops equipped with GeForce RTX 4050, RTX 4060, RTX 4070, RTX 4080, and RTX 4090 Laptop GPUs. With Ada Lovelace graphics processors already covering almost all market segments, the anticipated popularity of solutions like the GeForce RTX 4070 and the expected RTX 4060 suggests that Nvidia will need to increase GPU volume and packaging services.

Nvidia and its partners may already have enough RTX 30- and 40-series GPUs in stock, negating the need to ramp up testing and assembly ahead of the rumored GeForce RTX 4050 and RTX 4060 GPU launch in May-June. Furthermore, Nvidia has not yet attempted to drop prices into the sub-$500 range. While testing and assembly procedures do take time, they are not as lengthy as wafer production, meaning a delay of a few weeks in ordering OSAT services is unlikely to cause significant problems for the market, especially given the globally slow demand for new PCs.

According to Gigabyte’s Control Center software, the upcoming Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 and GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards will have 8GB and 12GB of memory, respectively. While the memory type is not confirmed, rumors suggest that the 4070 will have GDDR6X memory while the 4060 will have regular GDDR6 memory. The latest version of Gigabyte‘s Control Center app, version 23.03.02.01, now supports the Gigabyte RTX 4070 Aero OC 12GB (GV-N4070AERO OC-12G) and the Gigabyte RTX 4060 Gaming OC 8GB (GV-N4060GAMING OC-8GD) products, revealing their memory capacities.

The GeForce RTX 4070 is expected to have the same 192-bit 12GB GDDR6X memory subsystem as the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, but with fewer active CUDA cores. It is unclear how well the GeForce RTX 4070 will perform as a graphics card, but it is expected to be priced lower than the 4070 Ti.

On the other hand, the 8GB of GDDR6 memory on the GeForce RTX 4060 is considered a downgrade from the GeForce RTX 3060, which carries 12GB of GDDR6 memory. This is due to the AD107 and AD106 graphics processors that power the RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti products, which only have a 128-bit memory interface, making it only possible to use 8GB or 16GB of memory.

The price and release date for the GeForce RTX 4070 and 4060 are still uncertain. The GeForce RTX 4070 is expected to be released on April 13, 2023, with pricing still unknown. For the GeForce RTX 4060, it is unclear when it will be released and at what price. Given that the outgoing 3060 and 3060 Ti are priced at $329 and $399, respectively, the highest price most potential buyers would be willing to consider for the 4060 would be around $499.

This week Lenovo did a teaser announcement stating that their next affordable Lenovo Legion gaming laptop in China will Nvidia’s latest generation RTX 4050 GPU, but it seems that the brand decided to share more details of the upcoming gaming laptop, including an option for buyers to upgrade to an RTX 4060 as well.

The announcement comes from the official Lenovo Legion Weibo account in China, as they announce that the upcoming Lenovo Legion Geek Pro G5000 will feature an option for buyers to upgrade to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 GPU that has a max TDP of 115W. Previously it was announced that the Legion laptop will arrive in a base model that has RTX 4050 with a max TDP of 95W, so giving consumers the option to upgrade to a better configuration is a commonplace market practice.

As for the details of the 115W RTX 4060 GPU in Lenovo’s upcoming Legion Geek Pro G5000, the company shared that the GPU will have 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, support for the AV1 video-encoding codec, and Nvidia’s DLSS 3.0 graphics technology.

The company also shared some performance benchmarks, namely 3DMark Time Spy Benchmarks, of the RTX 4060 running on the affordable gaming laptop. It can be seen that the RTX 4060 has extraordinary power efficiency, as with only 45W of power, less than 40% of the max TDP of 115W, the RTX 4060 GPU can already pump out 70% of its max achievable performance.

Besides the GPU, ITHome quoted that Lenovo has stated that the Legion Geek Pro G5000 will be powered by Intel’s 13th Gen Core i5 processors, equipped with a 15.6-inch screen, 16:9 ratio, 2560 x 1440 resolution, 165 Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB coverage of the colour gamut, and 350 nits of brightness. The Lenovo GeekPro G5000 series of gaming notebooks will arrive with 1 TB of onboard SSDs, and an additional M.2 slot for those who want to expand their storage more.
