Casio appears to be preparing a new addition to its premium G-Shock lineup with a new MRG series watch. The company is working on a new rugged timepiece crafted in titanium that’s expected to join the brand’s sophisticated yet tough watch family soon. So here’s what we know.

Casio G-Shock MRG-B2100D-2A arriving soon

The popular watch maker is reportedly working on a new Casio G-Shock MRG-B2100D-2A model. According to a fresh report (Via NotebookCheck), this new watch is the second colorway, joining the existing G-Shock MRG-B2100D-1A that launched last year. The latest rumor claims that the upcoming G-Shock MRG-B2100D-2A will carry a similar silver color titanium casing and bracelet similar to the MRG-B2100D-1A model. But the main difference will be with the dial.

While the original G-Shock MRG-B2100D-1A has a classic black dial, the newer watch gets a green dial. The Cobarion alloy bezel and a kigumi-inspired geometric pattern are also expected to make a return. As with its predecessor, the upcoming model is expected to sport a full titanium case and bracelet, combining light weight with outstanding strength.

Apart from the new color hue, the Casio G-Shock MRG-B2100D-2A will likely offer similar features as the other MRG-B2100 series watches. So we can expect an analog watch design with three watch hands, radio control, a solar panel, Super Illuminator LED backlight, and Bluetooth connectivity that allows pairing for automatic time adjustments via the Casio Watches app for your smartphones. Casio might release the G-Shock MRG-B2100D-2A sometime in January 2026 for around 572,000 Japanese Yen, which is roughly about 3,665 US Dollars.

In other words, the POCO F8 Pro and POCO F8 Ultra are the only models in the F8 lineup, while the POCO X8 Pro could be followed by a POCO X8 Pro Max model. To recall, the POCO F8 Pro and POCO X8 Ultra are rebranded smartphones of the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max.

Similarly, the new POCO X8 Pro Max might replace the base X8, and is expected to be a rebadged version of the POCO X8 Pro Max. Meanwhile, the POCO X8 Pro is basically a renamed Redmi Turbo 5 Pro. Keep in mind that Xiaomi has yet to release the Redmi Turbo 5 lineup either, so the POCO versions are likely the global version, while the Redmi branded phones are China exclusive.

According to a recent Reuters report, the proposal was put forward by the COAI (Cellular Operators Association of India), and it seems to replace the current system. As of right now, the telecom operators rely on cell tower data and offer a rough estimate location. But the COAI wants the government to push A-GPS tracking.

If this goes through, the smartphones in India might operate as permanent tracking devices with location services always being enabled, with no options to switch them off. Although, in an odd turn of events, major brands that have been caught harvesting private user data have pushed back against this proposal. This includes three tech giants, namely Apple, Google, and Samsung. These brands are protesting that this is an overreach with serious legal, security, and privacy implications.

This is especially true for individuals whose roles require confidentiality, like journalists, activists, judges, security personnel, and others. The timing of this proposal arrives just after the Indian government was rolling out a controversial order that would have all new smartphones come pre-installed with a “cyber-safety” app, which was also met with pushback owing to privacy concerns. According to a tweet from the OnePlus Club, the Chinese brand is planning on making its smartphones go all in on the performance focused side. Reportedly, OnePlus will eventually unveil a device with a 240Hz dynamic refresh rate. This is twice the current standard for most devices, even premium models. Although, this isn’t a first for the industry. OnePlus is apparently looking to strike a balance between resolution and refresh rate, but there are still no specifics for this future model.

240Hz refresh rate seems like overkill for a smartphone, considering how few apps take advantage of the 120Hz or 144Hz screens. In other words, the Galaxy A57 is likely already in active development..

With the Samsung Galaxy A56 already a strong performer in the segment, the Galaxy A57 is its direct successor. Knowing Samsung, we can expect incremental upgrades instead of major overhauls when talking about the cameras, design, and other aspects. Back in August 2025, the Galaxy A57 was spotted on GeekBench, which is a popular benchmarking platform. Now, known tipster Arsène Lupin has revealed this pricing detail for the UK market. In our previous report, OnePlus was expected to launch the OnePlus 15 for around 3,999 Yuan (roughly 560 US Dollars). This would make it around 500 Yuan/70 US Dollars more affordable than the OnePlus 13, with Lupin’s tweet also hinting at a similar story for the overseas market.

The OnePlus 15 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage will reportedly launch in the UK for 949 Pounds Sterling. In comparison, the same storage configuration for the OnePlus 13 costs 999 Pounds sterling, which roughly brings a 67 US Dollar difference. Unfortunately, the tipster did not reveal the pricing details for the entry level 256GB model. But this modest price cut should help make it more attractive in markets outside of China as well.

OnePlus’ decision to make its flagships more affordable and target gaming is apparently inspired by the success of the iQOO 13 in China. Packing the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, it will be a powerhouse for everyday and intense gaming. This could be an isolated incident or a hint towards a bleak possibility. Keep in mind that Sony isn’t a major player in the smartphone market, only selling its devices in select regions. Brace for a Price Jump on the Samsung Galaxy S26

MediaTek just unveiled its flagship Dimensity 9500 SoC, which is based on TSMC’s third-generation 3nm process node (N3P). Similarly, even Qualcomm is using the same line from TSMC for its next gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. A large chunk of these new chips will be dedicated to Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series, bringing a more power efficient chip despite offering performance gains. However, this will be one of the major reasons for the Galaxy S26 series’ price hike.

According to a China Times report, Qualcomm and MediaTek are paying around 24 percent and 16 percent higher rates (respectively) to TSMC for the new chips. So the brands receiving the latest processors will likely have the customers bear the cost of these pricier components. Apart from this, the various new upgrades will also cause the Galaxy S26 models to become more expensive.

In our recent report, the Galaxy S26 Ultra could finally use Samsung’s M14 OLED panel alongside the CoE display tech. These devices might also be getting new cameras for an improved photography experience. According to Digital Chat Station, the Chinese tech giant’x next flagship might be getting a drop in resolution. Oppo announced the Find X8 Ultra with a tall 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, QHD+ resolution (3168 x 1440p), 2160Hz PWM dimming, and a peak brightness of 2500 nits.

In this recent post, DCS claims that the Find X9 Ultra will only have a 1.5K resolution (around 1200p). It will still feature LTPO tech for variable refresh rate support. This is a surprising downgrade for the Find X9 Ultra. Digital Chat Station is a known tipster who has had a decent track record with this leaks and tips. However, an Oppo executive denied this claim. As per Oppo’s Zhou Yibao, this rumor is fake.

Unfortunately, the senior official refrained from elaborating any further and didn’t reveal any other details. Digital Chat Stations adds that the smartphone will be equipped with Qualcomm’s SM8850 SoC, which is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. This marks a notable upgrade in terms of charging in the popular Fan Edition family. To recall, the Galaxy FE models have been stuck with 25W wired fast charging, even with last year’s Galaxy S24 FE.

But the Galaxy S25 FE will finally get a big upgrade with 45W wired fast charging support, which is the same as the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra. This is just one among the various improvements planned for the Galaxy S25 FE that could make it the best Fan Edition phone to date. Just recently, the renders of this model were leaked, showcasing a familiar design. A sighting on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) database also confirmed support for the Qi2 wireless charging standard.

Apple has already started importing components for its next gen flagship from China. 90% of these components were for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 16, while only 10% were for the newer iPhone 17.

This move also showcases the brand’s plans to push its devices during the upcoming festive period in the region. With promotion deals and sales, the company is eyeing high sales in the month of August. The short order of iPhone 17 components hints that the iPhone 17 is undergoing trial production and testing. The source close to the matter also revealed that Foxconn is starting this month. In other words, mass production should likely follow soon after, possibly in August.

The news arrives from known Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared the details on Weibo. In the online post, he claimed that Oppo (and likely OnePlus) is developing true magnetic wireless charging for its future devices. The Oppo Mag (vs MagSafe) line of accessories released in China was only compatible with cases with built-in magnets, but future models would house it within their chassis.

This technology will likely make its debut in premium next-gen smartphones like the OnePlus 15 or the Oppo Find X9 series. DCS further adds that Oppo is working on the technology with a new design that will allow it to avoid Apple’s MagSafe patent. But regardless of how it sounds, it won’t be compatible with actual MagSafe compatible accessories from Apple or third party sellers like Anker.

The tipster stated that the source close to the matter said that this technology will take up space in the internals, causing a slight shrinkage in battery size. The analyst claimed that Amazon is internally developing a similar product, but this has yet to go official. But a few days later, another rumor surfaced regarding the next gen flip phone passing Samsung’s internal tests with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

But a fresh report from the South Korean publication, ChosunBiz, hints at the Exynos 2500 being finalized for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. According to industry sources close to the matter, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 would be the first foldable to debut with an Exynos chipset (2500). On the other hand, the more expensive Galaxy Z Fold 7 could be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Samsung apparently begin production with 200,000 units planned for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Initial doubts regarding the Exynos 2500 was stemming from Samsung facing yield issues with the chip production. But it seems the problem might have been addressed. The latest news arrives from a BusinessWorld report. Sources close to the matter have claimed that the Chinese tech giant is planning on releasing the next top model the Vivo X200 Ultra and the compact X200 Pro Mini in India owing to the popularity of the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro in the region. The Vivo X200 Pro in particular was apparently completely sold out in India, prompting the brand to request additional units from its manufacturing facilities.

This robust demand is driving the brand’s plans to release the top end Vivo X200 Ultra in the region. To recall, Vivo had previously skipped the launch of the Vivo X100 Ultra back in 2024. The upcoming X200 Ultra is expected to be another photography flagship that offers various improvements over the X100 Ultra while also shifting from MediaTek to Qualcomm with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

If Vivo actually does launch the X200 Ultra, it will likely compete against the likes of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which was just unveiled in the Indian market as well. Unfortunately, the report did not reveal a lot of details regarding the X200 Pro Mini or its release timeline. But according to Digital Chat Station, OnePlus (and by its extension even Oppo) could be working on a battery pack with a massive 8,000mAh capacity. The known tipster claims that the increase in battery capacity is possible due to the silicon content seeing a rise to 15 percent, which is a sizeable jump over 6 percent on the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro (Review).

To recall, silicon can store a lot more lithium ions than graphite, which is we have recently seen a jump in capacity sizes in the latest Chinese flagships. Along with its massive size, the next gen battery also supports 80W SuperVOOC wired fast charging. OnePlus might not immediately make the shift to an 8,000mAh battery, but we could be seeing a 7,000mAh powered OnePlus flagship soon.

According to a report from TheBell, the South Korean tech giant might be planning on using its Exynos chips once again and these may debut with next year’s premium smartphones. Apparently, Samsung has already managed a yield of more than 30 percent in the latest SF2 (2nm) test production. Furthermore, the brand is working on stabilizing this process even further to get ready for the mass production of the Exynos 2600 chipsets.

This production is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of this year if the yields are stabilized as per their plans. So if all goes well, the Exynos 2600 APs might be released with the Galaxy S26 lineup in early 2026. The report further adds that the Samsung Electronics System LSI Division and Foundry Division are also putting resources into reaching the mass production goal of the Exynos 2600. Samsung has struggled with the yield rates in recent years with the Exynos 2500 reportedly seeing a yield rate of just 20 percent.

But for mass production, the company would need to hit at least 60 percent or higher. Rumors have pointed at the lackluster chip yields as the reason why Samsung chose to go with an all-Snapdragon Galaxy S25 lineup this year. It even worked with Qualcomm to bring a custom Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy version, which is faster than the regular variant.

If this is true, then Indian buyers would only get the base model and not the higher end Pro and Ultra variants of the POCO F7. Based on our earlier reports, the POCO F7 Ultra is a rebranded Redmi K80 Pro model. Meanwhile, the POCO F7 is a renamed version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro.
