IMID 2021 began on August 25 in Korea, and so far, we’ve seen some great display devices revealed by domestic manufacturers like Samsung and LG. Samsung unveiled the S-foldable gadget, which can be folded twice to become a smartphone and unfolded to become a massive 17.3-inch tablet. LG, on the other hand, has unveiled its 88-inch sound OLED TV and a smart bed with a 55-inch transparent OLED screen.

Today, Samsung has showcased another innovative product at the event. The company displayed an AI Speaker that turns into a 12.4-inch display in mere seconds.

According to a video from the Korea Display Exhibition, the Samsung AI Speaker has a taller design with rolled-up sides. It has a 12.4-inch flexible OLED display panel wrapped around the speaker. Interestingly, the AI speaker can be converted into a large 12.4-inch panel with just a tap on the proprietary app.

When the Samsung AI speaker is toggled from the smartphone, it goes from a rolled position to a flat display position in seconds. The panel’s movement while switching between these positions seems quite smooth.

In related news, Samsung has also planned to reveal a 48-inch bendable cinematic sound OLED panel and a 34-inch 144Hz refresh rate monitor. While this display tech is enticing, we aren’t sure when these designs would be materialized.
