As the launch date of the Meizu MX4 Pro approaches, more details are coming out regarding Meizu’s latest release. Recently, photos of what appear to be the MX4 Pro’s chassis were leaked on the internet. From these pictures, it seems that the MX4 Pro is bigger than the Xiaomi Mi4 and that Meizu has done away with its classic small round Home button, replacing it with a Home button similar to Samsung’s smartphones. This confirms rumors that they changed the Home button because of the MX4 Pro’s use of a fingerprint sensor.

Regarding the MX4 Pro’s other specifications, it will sport a 5.4-inch 2K display screen and use the Samsung Exynos 5 octa-core chip and Mali-T628MP6 GPU. It will also have a 20.7mp Sony rear-facing camera, 5mp front-facing camera, and 3GB RAM. It is rumored that three versions will be released: a 32GB version, 64GB version, and 128GB version.

Meizu has already sent out an invitation to the launch of the Meizu MX4 Pro which will be held on November 19 at 2:30 PM in Beijing. The invitation features a picture of a vinyl record. Does this mean that Meizu has added some improvement on the MX4’s music features? When Meizu first launched the MX4, they did so under the slogan “Think High.” Now, they are launching the Pro version under the slogan “Think Higher.” So, expect some interesting changes with the MX4 Pro.

It has already been reported that the Meizu MX4 Pro will have a fingerprint scanner and that they will remove the small Home button. Unlike other fingerprint scanners, it reads your fingerprint when you press it like a button instead of swiping your finger. It also has a 5.5-inch 2K screen, 3GB RAM, the Samsung Exynos 5 octa-core processor and a 20.7mp camera.

Now, a netizen leaked photos of what is purportedly the MX4 Pro’s rear cover which seems bigger than the MX4’s. There is also a difference in color. Both phones still sport a 5.5-inch screen, but the size of the phone has increased.

According to GFXBench, the Meizu MX4 Pro sports a 5.5-inch 2K screen (5660 x 1536) and has the Samsung Exynos 5 octa-core chipset (2GHz), Mali-T628MP6 GPU, 3GB RAM, 20.7mp camera, and the Android 4.4.4 OS.

Samsung has recently announced that it will perform an upgrade on its Exynos chipset platform so as to present the purely eight-core chip on Exynos 5. In addition to Samsung, Meizu was also planning to upgrade the Exynos chipset that its becomes pure octa-core.

Meizu will using the software updates that will be applied on it’s gadget that has now been marketed using Exynos 5 Octa chipset on the market.

Meizu MX3 will be relying on Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa chipset, the manufacturer is surely interested in the future of its upcoming flagship. So, it seems Meizu knows for sure this true octa-core capabilities are unlockable via a software update.

Meizu MX3 flagship smartphone will get such an update at the end of 2013. If this true, then it is possible for Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 be able to taste the pure ability of octa-core chipset.

Currently the chip already has pure octa-core is MediaTek. However MediaTek only use Cortex A7 chip aimed at the lower middle-class performance for the octa-core chip.
