The company has worked on some interesting smartphone designs and now a smartphone with dual display setup has been leaked online.</p>
<p>The leaked image shows that the phone has a secondary screen on the back panel. It also shows that the device is powered by the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2015/11/11/samsung-exynos-8890-chip-is-official-all-set-to-take-on-snapdragon-820/">Samsung Exynos 8890</a> chipset and features a single rear camera sensor.</p>

<p>While nothing much is known about this smartphone, the report claims that the device in question could have been named Meizu Pro X. Given the smartphone&#8217;s design and the chipset used, it seems that the company was working on it around 2006 but the device never made it commercially.</p>
<p>However, the company did come up with a dual-screen smartphone when it finally launched <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/07/26/meizu-pro-7-meizu-pro-7-plus-now-official-dual-cameras-dual-displays-fast-charge/">Meizu Pro7 and Pro7 Plus</a>. The smartphones come with a small 1.9-inch AMOLED screen on the top-left corner on the phone&#8217;s back.</p>

<p>The company&#8217;s latest flagship smartphones &#8212; the Meizu 17 series went official earlier this month and a couple of weeks back, the phones were up for sale in China for the first time and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/11/meizu-17-series-sold-out-within-60-seconds-in-first-sale/">got sold out in under a minute</a>.</p>
<p>Meizu 17 has a starting price of 3,699 Yuan which is about $522 whereas the Meizu 17 Pro begins at 4,299 Yuan which roughly converts to $607. The Meizu 17 comes in Mint, Black, and White colors while the Pro model is offered in Green, Gray, and Aurora White colors.</p>
<p>Recently, Meizu <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/21/p2p-file-transfer-alliance-gets-new-members/">joined the P2P File Transfer Alliance</a> along with OenPlus, Realme, and Black Shark. The alliance, which already has Xiaomi, OPPO, and Vivo as members, enables cross-device file transfer protocol at high-speed without the need for third-party apps.</p>

The Pro 6 Plus launch was the icing on the cake for Meizu who had been on the receiving end of series of backlash from fans for the consistent use of MediaTek SoCs on almost all the smartphones released last year. Meizu recorded a huge profit margin last year but that perhaps didn&#8217;t assuage the fans.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/meizu-pro-6-plus-2-2/"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-121698" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/meizu-pro-6-plus-2.jpg?x44794" alt="meizu pro 6 plus" width="450" height="450" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/meizu-pro-6-plus-2.jpg 450w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/meizu-pro-6-plus-2-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/meizu-pro-6-plus-2-300x300.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px" /></a></p>
<p>If the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-pro6plus/">Meizu Pro 6 Plus</a> did put a smile on the faces of fans,  the availability of the smartphone was another stumbling block. However, the Pro 6 Plus seems to have become available in large stock on <a href="http://item.jd.com/11038674076.html#none" target="_blank">Jingdong</a> (JD.com) and even with some price reduction. A number of third-party retailers have put up the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/meizu-pro6plus/">Pro 6 Plus</a> for sale. The Pro 6 Plus was launched with two storage versions, one with 64GB of storage and another with 128GB of storage but the 128GB variant is still out of stock.</p>

<p>The Meizu Pro 6 Plus 4GB + 64GB version is listed with a price tag of 2999 Yuan ( around $434). and in some stores, there are price reductions taking the price down to 2799 Yuan ($405). The Pro 6 Plus came in Champagne Gold, Deep gray and Moonlight silver color variants but seems only the Champagne Gold variant is available.</p>

On multiple occasions did we think that the next Meizu phone to be released would use the Exynos 8890 processor. Just right when our hopes were high, a Meizu official or industry analyst would dash them. However, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus that was rumored to feature an <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/exynos/">Exynos</a> processor was seen on Geekbench yesterday.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Meizu Pro 6 Plus <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/09/27/two-new-meizu-pro-6s-pro-6-plus-rumored-works/">first surfaced about 2 months ago</a> when a source said Meizu was working on a new flagship with a 5.7-inch display and an Exynos 8890 SoC. After that article, we didn&#8217;t hear anything about the phone, not until yesterday when it was seen on GeekBench.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-108863" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Meizu-Pro-6-Plus-geekBench.jpg?x44794" alt="Meizu Pro 6 Plus GeekBench" width="600" height="532" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Meizu-Pro-6-Plus-geekBench.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Meizu-Pro-6-Plus-geekBench-300x266.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-108862" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-7-GeekBench.jpg?x44794" alt="samsung-galaxy-note-7-geekbench" width="600" height="506" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-7-GeekBench.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-7-GeekBench-300x253.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Samsung-Galaxy-Note-7-GeekBench-95x80.jpg 95w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The Meizu Pro 6 Plus is equipped with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.48GHz and scores 1462 points in the single-core test and 3693 points in the multi-core test. Although the processor is not specified to be an Exynos 8890, it is strongly believed to be an under-clocked version of the chip, hence its low scores when compared to the Galaxy Note 7.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The Meizu Pro 6 Plus is equipped with 4GB of RAM and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. We hope more details of the device will surface soon.</p>

Now the latest rumor takes it even further, revealing that Meizu would likely release two smartphones before the end of the year, finishing off the year in grand style.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-97496 aligncenter" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-flagship.png?x44794" alt="meizu-flagship" width="610" height="697" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-flagship.png 610w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/meizu-flagship-263x300.png 263w" sizes="(max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px" /></p>
<p>According to industry analyst Pan Jiutang, one of the devices we may likely be seeing is the flagship Meizu Pro 7 which according to the analyst, would likely be called Meizu Pro 6s and not Pro 7. The well-known analyst also disclosed that the Meizu Pro 6s would likely be equipped with the Samsung Exyunos 8890 chipset. This rumor contrasts with earlier rumor that Meizu would be replacing the Exynos 8890 on the flagship.</p>
<p>Other specifications of the now Meizu Pro 6s include that the device would feature a 5.7-inch display with 2K resolution, along with a 12MP and 5MP front facing camera. On the memory lane, the Pro 6s is said to pack 4GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable internal storage.</p>
<figure id="attachment_78986" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-78986" style="width: 700px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-gold.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-78986" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-gold.png?x44794" alt="Pro 6" width="700" height="298" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-gold.png 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-gold-300x128.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/meizu-pro-6-gold-600x255.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></a><figcaption id="caption-attachment-78986" class="wp-caption-text">Pro 6</figcaption></figure>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Aside the rumor of a Pro 6s, the analyst also disclosed that Meizu is likely to release a second flagship before the year&#8217;s end which would be powered by the MediaTek MTK P20 processor. However, no detail about the configuration the second smartphone is known at this moment.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>Related: </strong></span><span style="color: #0000ff;"><strong><a style="color: #0000ff;" href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/09/04/meizu-launch-flyme-6-alongside-pro-7-flagship-september-13/">Meizu To Launch Flyme 6 Alongside Pro 7 Flagship On September 13?</a></strong></span></p>
<p>Meizu has a track record of releasing many devices each year but we&#8217;ll need to be on the watch to see if this latest turns out to be true. We have already seen quite a number of phones from Meizu up till this point and this number includes one or two flagship devices.</p>

All the premium models launched this year by Samsung came with the powerful Exynos 7420, which blows off other competitors in terms of performance and efficiency. But it looks like, the company is already working on its successor, thanks a recent Geekbench listing.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/exynos-8890.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-58512" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/exynos-8890.png?x44794" alt="exynos 8890" width="862" height="529" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/exynos-8890.png 862w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/exynos-8890-300x184.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/exynos-8890-684x420.png 684w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/exynos-8890-640x393.png 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/exynos-8890-681x418.png 681w" sizes="(max-width: 862px) 100vw, 862px" /></a></p>
<p>It looks like <strong>Exynos 8890</strong> just paid a visit to Geekbench earlier today revealing the performance of the new chip. The chip was inside a model code named <strong>Lucky-LTE</strong> and it could be a new Samsung model in the works. What&#8217;s interesting is that the new Exynos 8890 chipset beats the already powerful Exynos 7420 in both the single-core and multi-core tests. It managed to score <strong>1409 in single core</strong> and <strong>4882 in multi-core tests</strong>. This is much higher than the average score of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, 1305 and 4382 in the respective tests.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/exynoss-Chipset-01.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-11334" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/exynoss-Chipset-01.jpg?x44794" alt="exynoss Chipset-01" width="579" height="435" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/exynoss-Chipset-01.jpg 579w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/exynoss-Chipset-01-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 579px) 100vw, 579px" /></a></p>
<p>The listing reveals that the Exynos 8890 will be an ARMv8 octa-core chip under-clocked at 1.3GHz. During the testing, the Lucky-LTE model was running this new chip along with 4GB RAM and Android 5.1 OS.</p>
<p>So what could be this new Samsung Lucky LTE model running on the Exynos 8890 chip? Its still too early for a Samsung Galaxy S7, which leaves us wondering about this mystery device.</p>
<p>What do you think?</p>
