Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Book 5 in India, as the latest model in the premium thin-and-light laptop category. Earlier this month, the company unveiled the Galaxy Book 5 Pro in the region, and now, we are getting the entry level model. Powered by Intel’s newest Core Ultra Series 2 processors and enhanced by Galaxy AI, this model brings performance and long battery life packed in a sleek design.

Samsung Galaxy Book 5: Design & Display

The South Korean tech giant just announced the Galaxy Book 5 with a premium metallic chassis that weighs just 1.55kg in weight and measuring just 1.51cm thick. Despite its thin and light build, the new premium notebook has a health selection of ports, including an HDMI, two USB-C, two USB 3.2, a microSD card slot, ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

On the front, the Galaxy Book 5 sports a full sized 15.6-inch IPS LCD panel with an Anti-Glare coating and FHD resolution. The base model, unfortunately, skips the Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen that is featured on the more expensive Galaxy Book 5 Pro.

Performance & AI

Under the hood, this model is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 5 225U or the Intel Core Ultra 7 255U CPUs. These are paired with Intel graphics and Intel AI Boost NPU. This also brings support for AI powered tools from Galaxy AI, which include AI Photo Remaster, Circle to Search, Transcript Assist, and more.

The new CPUs are paired with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of NVMe SSD storage. A sizeable 61.2Wh battery pack powers the Galaxy Book 5 with support for 45W charging. Other notable features include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, fingerprint reader, 1080p webcam, and twin 2W Dolby Atmos tuned speakers.

Pricing and Availability

Samsung has just released the Galaxy Book 5 in India with a starting price tag of 77,990 INR for the 16GB + 512GB starting configuration. It is available in a single Gray color option and is listed with a 10,000 INR bank cashback deal. You can purchase it from the brand’s official website, Samsung stores, and other major online and offline retailers.

Samsung has launched an attractive promotion in the UK to boost sales of its Galaxy Book 5 laptop series. For a limited time, customers purchasing any Galaxy Book 5 model will receive a free Galaxy A35 smartphone (worth £339) alongside significant discounts on the laptops themselves.

The deal, running until April 8, provides multiple layers of savings. All Galaxy Book 5 variants – including the Book 5 360, Book 5 Pro 360, and Book 5 Pro – come with an immediate £200 discount. Customers can stack an additional 10% off by using the promo code BOOK5 when checking out through the Samsung Shop app. When combined with the free Galaxy A35, the total savings exceed £539.

Samsung is further sweetening the offer with bundle discounts. Buyers can save 20% on select accessories, including Galaxy Watches, Buds, and the Galaxy Ring when purchased alongside a Book 5 laptop.

Galaxy A35 is last year’s midrange offering from Samsung

While the included Galaxy A35 isn’t Samsung’s newest mid-range phone (having been succeeded by the £399 Galaxy A36), it remains a capable device. The phone packs a 6.6″ Super AMOLED display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ and a plastic middle frame. It’s powered by the Exynos 1380 chip and includes three cameras on the back – 50MP main + 8MP UW + 5MP macro – paired with a 13 MP selfie camera.

Notably, the A36 is excluded from this promotion but comes with its own limited-time “Premium Pack” worth £138.98, containing a 45W charger, silicone case, and Galaxy Fit 3. To claim the A35, UK customers must submit their request within 30 days of laptop purchase and meet basic eligibility requirements (including being 18 or older).

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Book 5 series earlier this year at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. Following the pre-reservations that started on March 4, the company has now officially launched the Galaxy Book 5 Pro, Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360, and Galaxy Book 5 360 in India. These premium laptops bring high-end hardware, AMOLED displays, and Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors.

Galaxy Book 5 series specifications and features

The Galaxy Book 5 series offers three distinct models. The Galaxy Book 5 Pro features a 14-inch 3K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, whereas the Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 comes with a 16-inch 3K AMOLED panel with the same refresh rate. The Galaxy Book 5 360, on the other hand, is equipped with a 15.6-inch FHD AMOLED display capped at 60Hz.

All three models are powered by Intel Core Ultra 7 or Core Ultra 5 processors, paired with Intel Arc Graphics. They offer 16 GB or 32 GB of RAM and storage configurations of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB. In terms of battery life, the Book 5 Pro has a 63.1Wh battery, the Book 5 Pro 360 features a larger 76.1Wh battery, and the Book 5 360 packs a 68.1Wh unit.

Common features across the lineup include Windows 11 OS, a 2-megapixel Full HD webcam, and Dolby Atmos audio support. While the Pro models come with a quad-speaker setup, while the Book 5 360 features stereo speakers. The weights of the devices range from 1.23kg to 1.56kg, depending on the model.

Galaxy Book 5 series price, availability, and offers

The Galaxy Book 5 360 starts at Rs 1,14,990, while the Galaxy Book 5 Pro is priced from Rs 1,31,990. The top-tier Galaxy Book 5 Pro 360 has a starting price of Rs 1,55,990. Pre-bookings of the Galaxy Book 5 series is now live via Samsung’s online store, Samsung India Smart Cafes, select retail outlets, and e-commerce platforms.

The laptops will officially go on sale in India from March 20 across Samsung Exclusive Stores, leading online platforms, and key retail partners. As a pre-booking offer, customers can purchase the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro at Rs 2,999, significantly lower than its original price of Rs 19,999.
