The Samsung Galaxy Buds lineup offers some impressive features and delivers an amazing audio experience in comfort. A lot of the great features of the device emanate from the array of impressive apps that support the hardware. These feature-rich apps can be installed on your smartphone and help to better configure the earbuds.

The problem is that multiple Galaxy Buds users have experienced app crashes when using their devices. Owners of the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds Pro have had to grapple with app crashes for several days. There have been multiple complaints about apps crashing on Samsung’s customer forums and on Reddit relating to both models. The issues also prop up even when the device is not in use. It is observed that the issue is general and not smartphone-specific. This widespread bug is also reported to affect the Galaxy Watch4 plugin. Things are much worse for users who have both the Galaxy Buds and Watch4 apps installed on their phones.

It is expected that the next Samsung update could sort out the glitch. A moderator in the forum says that an update will fix the problem, and it is coming soon. In the meantime, the moderator advises that the latest version of the app (Galaxy Buds version 4.1.22051251) could be reinstalled on your phone. Users should first check that the Nearby devices’ permission is granted.

Samsung has already confirmed that the company’s next Galaxy Unpacked event will be hosted on 11th August. At the event, the South Korea giant will unveil its Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 foldable smartphones.

Along with the foldable smartphones, the company will also be launching the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Active. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 will also get launched at the same event. Ahead of the official launch, Evan Blass has shared images of the upcoming earphones, revealing its design and color options.

The images confirm that the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 will come in four color options — Black, White, Violet, and Green. The company will be bundling the charging case which has a white-colored exterior but internally, it has the same color as the earphones.

In terms of design, the upcoming Galaxy Buds 2 looks similar to the Galaxy Buds+ but the charging case is similar to what the company offered with last year’s Galaxy Buds Live, and has a Samsung branding on top.

The upcoming TWS earphones from Samsung are expected to come powered by a 120mAh battery while the charging case packs a 500mAh battery. As for the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) feature, there are contradictory reports. To know for sure about its features, pricing, and availability information, we will have to wait for the official announcement next month.

Samsung Galaxy Buds+ wireless earbuds is getting a new firmware update. And as Tizenhelp reports, the update adds multiple features of the Galaxy Buds Pro TWS to the yesteryear Buds+. 

The Samsung Galaxy Buds+ is getting the update with firmware version R175XXU0AUB3. Weighing about 1.4MB in size, the update brings the following features to the Galaxy Buds+:

Changelog:

• Auto Switching
• Buds control menu is added to the Bluetooth setting
• improved system stability and readability.

As you can see above, the star feature of the changelog is the ‘Auto Switching’. As the name suggests, this feature will enable intelligent switching across devices with respect to the scenarios.

However, do note that it works well only with Galaxy ecosystem products. The Galaxy Buds Pro had this feature at launch and it is appreciable that Samsung is bringing it to the older Galaxy Buds+ wireless earbuds. Also, the feature is said to currently support only the devices running One UI 3.1 version.

This is not the first earbuds that are getting a feature from the latest ones. Recently, Samsung has updated the Galaxy Buds Live and its firmware version is R180XXU0AUB5  and weighs about 2MB.

Coming back, apart from the Auto Switching, the Galaxy Buds+ is also getting a Buds menu control on the Bluetooth settings. As a result of this, users can now control its options right from the settings menu and not wanting to peek at the Galaxy wearable app every time.

It’s also worth noting that the Galaxy Buds+ doesn’t get the hearing aid functionality that the Buds Live got along with the Auto Switching. To delve into these features, you will have to update the Galaxy Buds+ to the latest firmware mentioned above.
